After buying and completing Wrath Of The Mutants, I'd say developer Cradle Games (Hellpoint, Jumanji: Wild Adventures) delivered the definitive version of this title. If you played the arcade version then you'll know exactly what your getting here, however this version includes exclusive new content in the form of 3 new stages & 6 new boss battles which in turn lengthens the game a bit more. Along with the returning stages of NYC, T.C.R.I. & the Sewers, the 3 new exclusive stages consists of the Amusement Park (which has become my personal favorite stage), Dimension X, and Shredder's Lair. In the original arcade version, Shredder's Lair was just the boss battle with Saki in one specific room. In the home port, it's a full fledged stage where you have to get to him before fighting him, so definite bonus points on that. Returning boss battles are here with Bebop, Rocksteady, Chrome Dome, Baxter Stockman, Krang '87 & Kraang Sub Prime (who in the home port now serve as the bosses for the new Dimension X stage which makes more sense instead of them being the bosses in the T.C.R.I stage like in the arcade version), while the 6 new exclusive boss battles consists of Tiger Claw (T.C.R.I), Karai (Shredder's Lair) Rahzar (Amusement Park), Fishface (T.C.R.I), The Creep (Amusement Park) & Super Shredder (Shredder's Lair). In the original arcade version, once Shredder is defeated, you've completed the game. Here, once he's defeated, he transforms into Super Shredder for one final boss battle, so again, bonus points for that. If I have any slight nitpicks it's that 1) for some reason, the arcade intro of Shredder kidnapping April to lore the turtles is nowhere to be found And 2) the arcade ending had voice overs for the characters. Here? It's just dead silence with text. Weird. Especially when they got the original voice cast of the show to voice all new lines specifically for this game. With that being said, I had a good time with this one. Cradle Games did a very solid job with bringing this arcade game to home consoles, and the exclusive stages and boss battles are absolutely a welcome addition. Don't let the GameMill Entertainment logo scare you away with this release since they've been pretty infamous with their recent releases, as this one is definitely a good one. IMHO worth the $30.
I played this in the arcade and it is very much a simplified brawler since the main places it was made for was arcades like Chucky Cheese, thus that is kind of the point. I think it is fine in short bursts, but I can see why many would not care for it with the recent brawlers out there.
My 5 year old son loves it. We've played it every day since it dropped. Everything about it's good, it's just short. More levels would make it feel more satisfying.
We have this arcade game locally where I live and I've always been bummed I have no way of playing through it in it's entirety at home. Well, problem solved 😁. I am excited for this.
Its the 2012 turtles. And the arcade game is very fun. I found it in a chicago suburb mall arcade. First time i played was at a Nashville, TN mall. Im not obsessed with 2012 TMNT. But im picking it up for $30. Cheaper than driving to play it in a real arcade.
I'm a big turtles fan but I'd rather wait for a sale because these turtles are from the Nickelodeon series and $30 for such a short game is not worth it to me.
I didn’t knew they made an arcade TMNT game that’s based on the 2012 series. From what I saw and heard it’s just another Turtles in Time inspiration, and Re-Shelled situation where they tried replicating the greatness of Turtles in Time but end up not being nearly as charming for one reason or another. Although clearly Shredder’s Revenge was the exception since it was expertly made by a super talented indie team.
I played it in the Arcade, and thought it was pretty good, but $30 seems kind of high these days for a 7 year old arcade game that can be beaten in just over an hour.
The fact that this costs more than Shredder's Revenge and the way I'm hearing it's formatted is wild. Looks like a cheap cash in trying to bank off of Turtles In Time...eh may wait for a sale on this one.
Good review. I just beat it on Xbox Series X. It's not bad if you keep your expectations in check. It's a $30 2017 TMNT arcade port so.. yeah. A little repetitive but it's cool. Once you beat it, you're just like.. ok. If you like the TMNT games and arcade games.. sure, check it out. Use your judgment on how much you're willing to pay for it though, It is short. I will come back for hard mode with the girlfriend or a friend.
Honestly about one hour for a beat em up is what I would prefer. In fact that was one of my problems with shredders revenge; even in arcade mode it took way too long to finish. This made it hard to play with family because not all of us had 3 plus hours to finish a game together.
For me the hour or so in of itself is fine but with no collectibles or real unlocks 30 is a bit high for a game that doesn't seem to have any real replayability. Sure it might be fun to play every now and then even after beating it but nothing that really pulls you back to complete it.
Thank you for saving me from forking out the cash for this one. I loved the 2012 Nickelodeon series, but it doesn't seem worth the price. Maybe if it goes on sale one day for like $5 it'd be a fun little time killer. But other than that, there are definitely better turtle games out there.
This game must be released in specific countries only because I live in Norway and this game is neither on the eShop or in stores. I wish it was out here because I grew up on the turtles and have all the other TMNT games on my Switch.
I didn’t know about this game until last week. I was confusing it with the other TMNT game coming later this year. So I picked this up last night. I’m frankly a bit disappointed. It doesn’t control that well. It’s short. It’s no Shredder’s Revenge. That’s for sure. If you want a TMNT game, get Shredder’s Revenge if you don’t already have it. It’s fantastic. Or get the Cowabunga collection. Or both. You can’t go wrong with either. The only way I would recommend this game at full price is if 1) you already have both The Cowabunga Collection and Shredder’s Revenge 2) you really like the 2012 Nickelodeon version of TMNT It’s kind of cool to revisit that era of TMNT. I still have the Revoltech action figures based on that era of TMNT on my shelf. But even if you love this iteration of TMNT, I’d say wait for a substantial sale. The fighting just doesn’t FEEL that good. There’s a weird disconnect between the button mashing and the on screen action. It feels sluggish. Again, there are TWO superior TMNT games on switch. One of them, the cowabunga collection, having a bunch of amazing classic games. Both give you a lot more bang for your buck. If you get Shredders Revenge, I recommend the expansion pack as well. There may or may not be a bundle on the eShop that has the base game AND the expansion pack, but it’s worth the extra money. This newest release, Wrath of the Mutants is NOT bad. Especially, if you have love for this version of the franchise, but it’s not great. It’s just okay. Whereas, I would recommend Shredders Revenge to people that aren’t even TMNT fans. It’s that good.
I remember playing this game in the arcade yes and Nickelodeon logo on it but yes it was a lot of fun because it was based on a Nickelodeon's Tmnt that's one of my favorite things about the creep boss.
I did really enjoy the home port of cruisn' blast, so I might have to pick this one up as well! seems like a good enough beat-em-up even if it is relatively short.
Me and my buddy picked it up and played through it a few times. Honestly had a blast, thoroughly enjoyed the game. Kinda nice to have a quick beat em up like this on hand
Thank you, my 3 sons and I played and beat the game in the arcade at least twice and supposedly they added 2 levels, I plan on still purchasing it but I wondered if they did anything extra.
I took some PTO to go on vacation from work and I downloaded this game on my switch. Fun game, you’re right about it lacking extras but it’s still a fun Turtles beat em up. I’ll probably play though it at least one more time before I go back to work.
Great Vid RGT 85. I recently Played Through this and I enjoyed it aswell, it's definitely aimed towards Kids and defo worth a Pickup when it goes Cheaper guys. I defo agree it should have had Character Unlocks at least, maybe April Unlocked after Playing Through on Easy, Casey Jones on Normal and Splinter on Hard something like would have been cool. If you have afew Mates round and wanna blast through a Game for an hour or have Kids, then this would be a fun Game too Check Out guys.
Lol on shredders revenge i remember getting to the end to fight shredder... then im bobbing my head to the song and I'm like who tf is this!? sounds familiar and I looked it up and thats why lol WU TANG
I find it interesting that they got one original voice actor from the 1987 series. Now I know James Avery has passed on so obviously that couldn’t be but it would’ve been nice if they had done this game when he was still alive. But the rest of the voice actors are new. You only have Rob Paulson. And of course you have the voice of crying.
Thanks for the video review for this game RGT. I wasn’t even aware they were releasing this. After Shredder’s Revenge and The Cowabunga Collection, adding this one would be overkill at this point. Like you said, it’s a good game, not a great game so I don’t think it’s worth it. Shredder’s Revenge seems miles above Wrath of the Mutants. I’ll be skipping this one.
It is fine if they actually selling this for 20 and not 30 in the price tag! I will wait to see a dropping in the prices,or maybe some kind of dlc which they will actually give something more to it,because i want it in phisical copy as a fan of the franchise!
Was waiting for it. About 1:33 in that you are not a Nintendo TH-camr. Yet you are reviewing a Nintendo. Game. Glad you did because I was thinking of picking this one up and on the Switch.
I think Shredder's revenge is brilliant, but hopefully, sooner, I will try out Wrath of the Mutants. If not, then maybe I'll stick with other TMNT games instead.

It is a fun game but there really isn't much to it given that the machines cost upwards of $10k. I loved playing it with my kids at Peter Piper and Chuck E. Cheese, but I think the original Nick TMNT they released for home consoles (Wii/PS3...) would have made a more engaging arcade game.

On the leader boards it shows the character used, and shows names of some bad guys, I was hoping that meant unlockable characters. But I guess that’s not the case? 😢

I would love to see a remake or sequel to TMNT tournament fighters fro the SNES
I like your vids, RGT85! I've watched them for a while, usually I catch them on my Xbox! :D
Since were bringing classics, I'd love a touched up version of Spider-Man Maximum Carnage.
Thank you, my 3 sons and I played and beat the game in the arcade at least twice and supposedly they added 2 levels, I plan on still purchasing it but I wondered if they did anything extra.
3 new levels not 2
I love it when RGT talks Nintendo. "rubs puppies, ew ah"🤣🤣🤣🤣
It should be a 20 or 15 dolars game. Too short and basic.
You should put up a poll asking if you are a Nintendo TH-camr.
To sum it up just say wait for a 50% off sale. Not worth $30 game.
Im old dude. 61 and still playing video games. I have kids your age man
It is fine if they actually selling this for 20 and not 30 in the price tag!
They made plenty of money on the Apple Store to be exclusive so I'm just going to sail the high seas for this one.
This is not the one from the Apple Store.
what? this was a actual arcade game, never on apple
This isn’t splintered fate which is actually good
@@docc19 Even more reason to pirate it then lol.
I picked this up and I’m 46. My only complaint so far is there’s no block, dash, or throws.
I do really enjoy the graphics of this game. Turtles in Time and TMNT are my all time favorites
I think Shredder's revenge is brilliant, but hopefully, sooner, I will try out Wrath of the Mutants. If not, then maybe I'll stick with other TMNT games instead.
From the sounds of it the length of the game isnt that good for how much they are asking for.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shredder Revenge is by far the best💯
Sounds like I should wait till this is on sale....
I'm going to need a Turtle's game based on the 2003 Turtle's again. These new games are fine, but man do I miss the 2003 Turtle's.
When ever i see that game, i think about rocking out at chuckie cheese as a kid
Within the next 1-2 or maybe 3 years there’s gonna be four new TMNT games coming out three of them are coming before the end of this year
I was confused too I didn't know it had story I got to the end and was like what!
Had no idea this existed until I saw it on the clearance rack at Walmart today. Thanks for the review.
And always remember, Wu-Tang is for the children 👐
This game looks like a $10 xbox live arcade game - If they had added leveling up or somthing maybe but I'd rather have shredders revenge
truly does look like a mobile game.
I’ll wait for this to become $10
Not everything needs online.
I will say however that it shouldn't be 30 bucks. Maybe 15 or 20.
Yeah the lack of online doesn't bother me but 30 bucks when a playthrough is only 1 hour or so and there's no collectibles or unlocks is too high.
Spawnwave is just mad cause he could not get the the Spawncast crew to play it together!
Another raw thrills arcade port. Im waiting for mine arriving today. We need more raw thrills ports. I don’t care about online just that i can play them on switch and steam deck to connect to my arcade cabinet
For that price, they've lost they mind. I'll get it on sale
Or mod your Switch, if possible for you.
RGT: Can I get a review copy?
Company: Sorry, review codes are for Nintendo TH-camrs only.
You indeed are a Nintendo TH-camr. #1 at that
I'm gonna emulate this one. Just to try it out of course. Can't wait.
Youre growing subs!! Been here since 86k mutant high 3!! Cowabunga!!!
I think it would be worth picking up if it was on sale.
RGT the algorithm is putting you back at the top of my TH-cam feed! About time they do something right😎
I don't know if I heard Him correctly What it sounded like he said he wasn't a nintendo channel Because for the first 3 to 4 years. The switch came out, that's all he basically. Wasn't about.
My 6yr old and I had a blast with this at Chucky Cheese last year… that is all.
On the leader boards it shows the character used, and shows names of some bad guys, I was hoping that meant unlockable characters. But I guess that’s not the case? 😢
Should’ve been 9.99 game is super short beaten under an hour
You remember when we didn’t talk about quality in games, and just enjoyed a game for what it is.
Dominos Pizza on the house from RGT 85, he is a Dominos ambassador. Cowabunga!😅😅😅😅
Id like to know how you got a preorder deal? Where?
Seeing GameMill in the corner of the box should tell you everything you need to know about this game 😂
Dude, we're not OLD yet! 🤣
You went full Nintendo TH-camr, You never go full Nintendo TH-camr
Its esp funny when he says he isnt a Nintendo youtuber when 90% of his videos are covering something Nintendo related
this game is the ninja turtle game equivalent of the 2016 ghostbusters movie
This game should have been included in the Cowabunga Collection
30 dollars for a 1 hour play through 😮
my favorite switch youtube....not a nintendo youtuber, got ya. just switch ;).
