I was hyped for the remake until I found out they removed all the original music. So glad they have the arcade version and the snes version on the compilation pack.
When I bought and played the remake on PS3 I felt disappointed, had more fun playing the arcade and SNES versions, specially the SNES exclusive Slash boss fight.
@@hjames78 plus I hated it when I went to the arcade and the joystick was busted. I was somewhat ok with losing twenty-five cents, but it’s ridiculous when arcades would charge fifty- cents up to a 💵 per turn. The amount of lives would differ too.
Yeah, Leo's face actually has expression, like he's fighting hard. You really feel it. The remake doesn't have that, and it seems a bit bland as a result.
I wouldn’t even compare the two (the arcade version is far too superior) but I personally enjoyed playing the remake with my friends. It was a solid game.
Same. Of course the arcade version is superior but I wouldn't mind if they brought back the remake in another collection for modern consoles. Shame that so many of these digital games disappear.
The remake sucks, the gameplay is slow in comparison to the original arcade, the music is different, the 2D graphics look better than this poor quality 3D designs.
Honestly I don’t like either of these games; the SNES version is the true winner. Arcade still takes the win over Reshelled but it’s mainly for visuals as I don’t like the gameplay much.
I remember when Xbox de-listed this purchase and several others after I bought the game. It was the deciding factor that kept me away from Microsoft’s digital services. Nintendo and Sony all the way.
I've only gone thru one playthrough of the remake and thought it played fine despite losing the original music. It's too bad i never bought the game for PS3.
It's kinda sad because with more saturated colors, and textures on the levels that looked more accurate to the original (like the concrete at 3:12), it wouldn't look that bad.
Konami would.have to deal with Ubisoft if they wanted to port the remake but, since both are two of the stingiest companies on the planet that's not very likely at ll.
Great game, but in my opinion the best version is the SNES version, as some have already commented very well before me. I even think that this is a rare case in the 1990s where a console version managed to be better than the corresponding Arcade version, incredible work by Nintendo/Konami.
Oh god me and my best friend used to play this game for hours and hours. After we beat the level we would clap hands and say cowabanga like the turtles.
The arcade and SNES versions did it best. The remake on Xbox360 was a sin against the source material, and Ubisoft should be ashamed of themselves for doing this! They would have had more success making their remake a Wii exclusive, at least then it would have sold tons of units, and it would have been appreciated.
The Arcade version is more authentic, It has better color saturation and more vivid, not to mention the spirt of the 80's- 90's that makes it superior to the remake version.
Скорее всего имели место быть проблемы с авторскими правами. Даже сама конами в Mutant Nightmare(Это игра по третьему сезону Черепашек Ниндзя 2003, и там можно открыть бонусный режим с аркадной игрой) вырезала всю музыку и заменила на другую.
The BIGGEST flaw in the remake is it's lack of redo. The original was based on the only series at the time, hence not an homage but a complete overhaul with similarities. It's more money grab than updating the original design wise. Same ol' "Newer is better" argument without basis of facts. Cartoon physics were more prevalent in the original, these look totally limited. It lacks the same character with a shiny wrapper coating over the whole thing. Just an opinion, but maybe think "Sonic Movie" overhaul instead. Don't forget, older gamers/collectors have most the money.
There was no need for this remake. Just port over original with XBLA support for 4 players online or multiplayer. Xmen Arcade was ported over with 6 player support and was made by Konami. I don't understand why they went the Ubisoft route?
It's honestly impressive how they literally messed EVERYTHING up in the remake. From the bland dark visuals, the pathetic sound design that sounds like someone slapping a wet seal, to the travesty of the music. Ugh. I remember being so hyped for this and refunded the living shit out of it after 15 minutes.
Legit question: that boss from the prehistoric time depends on the turtle youre playing or the SNES version simply hav a diferent one? I played that game like mad and I can swear my ass off I fought something diferent there, not thar sandman thing or whatever it is. I think it was a turtle boss shwne i plyed as donatelo
The SNES version had Slash instead of that glob. Even the sewer level, the SNES had the Rat King instead of just fighting the Yellow things like it was a bonus stage. The ship s boss was Leatherface. I think even the Shredder Fight was different because you had to throw the enemies into the screen to defeat Shredder in the technodrome. The Arcade had Toka and Razar.
That remake was beyond mediocre wouldnt have been so bad if it wasnt a remake of a beloved beat em up that was bursting with personality, where the remake has none at all thank god shredder's revenge exist to let people know thats how tmnt games should be made.
When will these companies realize that Pixel Art is the art form, and doesnt need to be made more cartoon like, like streets of rage 4 or more realistic like whatever the hell this is.
The original aims (and succeed) to look like an American 1980s Comic book (maybe the coolest 2d art style of all time). I have no fucking clue what the fuck the artist of the remake was trying to do.
Why couldn't they have done a direct 1:1 port of the original arcade game like they did with the Simpsons? Speaking of why can't they port that to the new systems?
I was hyped for the remake until I found out they removed all the original music. So glad they have the arcade version and the snes version on the compilation pack.
Yep, it was a remake, not a copy.
@@HansChinasky remakes can keep the original music.
Konami looking the remake: "look how they massacred my boy" 😢
Indeed bro! 😂😂😂😂😂
Bro I could have ignored the graphics, but why did they mess with the music? Man that crap was horrible.
I like the old classic style cartoon game
When I bought and played the remake on PS3 I felt disappointed, had more fun playing the arcade and SNES versions, specially the SNES exclusive Slash boss fight.
The remake looks cool but the original arcade version just takes you back to a place in time.
I still play the Arcade till this day on Snes on PC. Nothing beats it. Nothing.
they were also on ps3 I bought it with digital games installee part 1 and turtles in time
nothing beatS it?the arcade version beats the console version
@@joseanrodriguez2005 I said nothing beats the arcade version.
@@khaiphamba5991 no bro ,you say you still play the arcade on snes on pc nothing beats it meaning snes emultor on pc not mame they are not the same
Arcade #1!
The original arcade version will always be the top contender but I do like the remake
Remake isn't that bad but the best version of this game is still the super Nintendo version!
La versión de Arcade es superior.❤
No, the arcade is the best version
SNES version is better because it didn’t need quarters…. And my quarter supply was super limited as a little kid. 😅
Plus it had more levels point blank. The only thing the arcade version had was it did look better but oh so slightly
@@hjames78 plus I hated it when I went to the arcade and the joystick was busted. I was somewhat ok with losing twenty-five cents, but it’s ridiculous when arcades would charge fifty- cents up to a 💵 per turn. The amount of lives would differ too.
The remake might’ve been better if they actually used an updated version of the original music.
arcade is better, it has its charm !
Yeah, Leo's face actually has expression, like he's fighting hard. You really feel it. The remake doesn't have that, and it seems a bit bland as a result.
I wish they remade the original first. It felt weird they went straight for Turtles in Time. Most likely due to fame and nostalgia.
I wouldn’t even compare the two (the arcade version is far too superior) but I personally enjoyed playing the remake with my friends. It was a solid game.

agreed
I dug the remake to be quite honest.
Arcade para sempre!!!
Snes melhor versão
SNES version is the best.
Yeah, Slash rules!
While the originals were great, I liked the Re-Shelled remake as well. I wish it was available on PC and newer platforms as well.
The remake was solid, but the clear winner is the SNES.
this version is from arcade..
@@lgoisgois7335 yes, but the SNES version looked and played better
@@jeffcox6539 You can go 4 players in the Arcade, can't in snes. I think the resolution was also better in the arcade.
@@MrKhaos0001The SNES had exclusive levels, and the voice samples and music sounded better than the arcade.
Also, the Slash boss fight SNES exclusive, way better than that garbage Mudman.
I never knew it came out for the 360 i would of bought it
This is the first time I am learning of the 360 version, like how tf have I never seen this? Lol

Arcade 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
I honestly like how the remake looks it has this charm of the 2003 turtles mixed with 1987 it’s not that bad
I never had the chance to play Re-Shelled.
La versión arcade es insuperable!! El Remake es pura 💩 no hubieran hecho nada. Por esto es qué lo vintage es insuperable Cawabunga 👏🏻🐢🇦🇷
The remake is insulting to the fans.
Remake is worse...remake makes me feel sick...
Oh yeah
That giant blob boss…. He wasn’t in the snes version only arcade ? I don’t remember fighting him.
I think you fight Slash on the snes version
Yeah, the Snes version was expanded and even replaced a few elements with things from the first arcade game.
Yep, Slash was SNES exclusive, way better than Mudman.
Slash was actually harder to beat than Shredder to me on the SNES VERSION
Remake has no charm at all, looks generic and cheap
In other words, it looks like a typical mobile game 😶
In a word: LIFELESS
It's kinda sad because with more saturated colors, and textures on the levels that looked more accurate to the original (like the concrete at 3:12), it wouldn't look that bad.
just like all modern movies and animation nowadays, cgi over use garbage.
I totally agree, The game play in xbox 360 make the game itself useless and no charm at all just better graphics only as most games today
I love re-shelled. I'd rather play it than the old ones. Look and feel is amazing. Combos are fun and satisfying. Lighting and graphics look great.
0:24 why does Splinter look more like 2012 TMNT Splinter instead of OG toon splinter???
The remake was based on the 2003 version of TMNT
That remake was embarrassing, as they soo often are.
Granted that TIT R-S wasn’t well received but it would have been nice to include it in the Cowabunga Collection.
Konami would.have to deal with Ubisoft if they wanted to port the remake but, since both are two of the stingiest companies on the planet that's not very likely at ll.

Arcades forever!
If only they had used the art directon from the cut scenes
It would be cool to see this game come out again but with gameplay like shredders revenge. Plus added stages

They should make a turtles in time DLC for shredders revenge. That would be a proper remake.
ARCADE
I can’t find the remake anywhere. Looks nice. I’m ok without the music. It’s still a turtle game.

Original looks better, it looks like the 1987 cartoon.
Which is the purpose of the arcade.
La versión arcade es muy buena , mientras que la versión de xbox es una porquería lenta
Además que la versión x box 360 no tiene nada que ver con la serie animada de los 90s de la que se inspiro el arcade

It's a shame they couldn't even make a remaster of Konami's melodies, but the remake is a very bad game.

Este juego ya solo lo encuentras en ROM emulado, en las consolas lo bajaron de las tiendas. Lo tenia en xbox 360 y un dia simplemente se desinstaló.
The original is always better and they just messed it all up remaking it. It's a disgrace to us 90s kids and I'm 38 years old lol.
How not to do a remake.
Remake could be better with some modding and coloration touch ups to at least resemble the original more.
