I like the old classic style cartoon game
I was hyped for the remake until I found out they removed all the original music. So glad they have the arcade version and the snes version on the compilation pack.

I don't think it was a matter of them not being able to get the music. Konami made the game not just the music. I did not know the music to a video game had to be purchased separately. I honestly believe they made this choice because they wanted to do so.

you know my issue with all modern TMNT games even games like this and Shredders Revenge is they all are missing that intensity that the original arcades had with their music and sound effects, explosions power ups ect, so they are nice but they never capture me like the old arcades use to and really still do today.....

The remake looks cool but the original arcade version just takes you back to a place in time.
When I bought and played the remake on PS3 I felt disappointed, had more fun playing the arcade and SNES versions, specially the SNES exclusive Slash boss fight.
I still play the Arcade till this day on Snes on PC. Nothing beats it. Nothing.

The remake might’ve been better if they actually used an updated version of the original music.
I wish they remade the original first. It felt weird they went straight for Turtles in Time. Most likely due to fame and nostalgia.

Yeah, Leo's face actually has expression, like he's fighting hard. You really feel it. The remake doesn't have that, and it seems a bit bland as a result.

Plus it had more levels point blank. The only thing the arcade version had was it did look better but oh so slightly
@@hjames78 plus I hated it when I went to the arcade and the joystick was busted. I was somewhat ok with losing twenty-five cents, but it’s ridiculous when arcades would charge fifty- cents up to a 💵 per turn. The amount of lives would differ too.
I wouldn’t even compare the two (the arcade version is far too superior) but I personally enjoyed playing the remake with my friends. It was a solid game.
Same. Of course the arcade version is superior but I wouldn't mind if they brought back the remake in another collection for modern consoles. Shame that so many of these digital games disappear.
The remake sucks, the gameplay is slow in comparison to the original arcade, the music is different, the 2D graphics look better than this poor quality 3D designs.

0:11 Whaaat!?! Leonardo had audio voice in the original arcade version? I only played this on the SNES. There was no audio speech. These ties in with the N64 version of Spider-Man. Where are the cut scenes were voiceless slide shows compared to the actual motion and sound movies of the PlayStation 1.

It's kinda sad because with more saturated colors, and textures on the levels that looked more accurate to the original (like the concrete at 3:12), it wouldn't look that bad.

While the originals were great, I liked the Re-Shelled remake as well. I wish it was available on PC and newer platforms as well.

Honestly I don’t like either of these games; the SNES version is the true winner. Arcade still takes the win over Reshelled but it’s mainly for visuals as I don’t like the gameplay much.

I've only gone thru one playthrough of the remake and thought it played fine despite losing the original music. It's too bad i never bought the game for PS3.

I remember when Xbox de-listed this purchase and several others after I bought the game. It was the deciding factor that kept me away from Microsoft’s digital services. Nintendo and Sony all the way.

Granted that TIT R-S wasn’t well received but it would have been nice to include it in the Cowabunga Collection.
Konami would.have to deal with Ubisoft if they wanted to port the remake but, since both are two of the stingiest companies on the planet that's not very likely at ll.
Oh god me and my best friend used to play this game for hours and hours. After we beat the level we would clap hands and say cowabanga like the turtles.
If only they had used the art directon from the cut scenes

I played the original title when I was a kid but the remake looks WAY better. I think people here are just nostalgic..
I love re-shelled. I'd rather play it than the old ones. Look and feel is amazing. Combos are fun and satisfying. Lighting and graphics look great.
Original is way better than the stupid 3d remake. The SNES version is the best of all. I love the SNES version.

Remake is not THAT bad, but the goddamn music is disgusting, is so generic, so soulless in fact the whole audio is ass, sound effects are less impactful than the original and it shows.
And that includes "My toes! My toes!"
Great game, but in my opinion the best version is the SNES version, as some have already commented very well before me. I even think that this is a rare case in the 1990s where a console version managed to be better than the corresponding Arcade version, incredible work by Nintendo/Konami.

Скорее всего имели место быть проблемы с авторскими правами. Даже сама конами в Mutant Nightmare(Это игра по третьему сезону Черепашек Ниндзя 2003, и там можно открыть бонусный режим с аркадной игрой) вырезала всю музыку и заменила на другую.

It's honestly impressive how they literally messed EVERYTHING up in the remake. From the bland dark visuals, the pathetic sound design that sounds like someone slapping a wet seal, to the travesty of the music. Ugh. I remember being so hyped for this and refunded the living shit out of it after 15 minutes.
The arcade and SNES versions did it best.
The remake on Xbox360 was a sin against the source material, and Ubisoft should be ashamed of themselves for doing this!
They would have had more success making their remake a Wii exclusive, at least then it would have sold tons of units, and it would have been appreciated.
The Arcade version is more authentic, It has better color saturation and more vivid, not to mention the spirt of the 80's- 90's that makes it superior to the remake version.

The BIGGEST flaw in the remake is it's lack of redo.
The original was based on the only series at the time, hence not an homage but a complete overhaul with similarities. It's more money grab than updating the original design wise.
Same ol' "Newer is better" argument without basis of facts. Cartoon physics were more prevalent in the original, these look totally limited.
It lacks the same character with a shiny wrapper coating over the whole thing.
Just an opinion, but maybe think "Sonic Movie" overhaul instead. Don't forget, older gamers/collectors have most the money.

The original aims (and succeed) to look like an American 1980s Comic book (maybe the coolest 2d art style of all time).

That remake was beyond mediocre wouldnt have been so bad if it wasnt a remake of a beloved beat em up that was bursting with personality, where the remake has none at all thank god shredder's revenge exist to let people know thats how tmnt games should be made.

Legit question: that boss from the prehistoric time depends on the turtle youre playing or the SNES version simply hav a diferent one? I played that game like mad and I can swear my ass off I fought something diferent there, not thar sandman thing or whatever it is. I think it was a turtle boss shwne i plyed as donatelo
The SNES version had Slash instead of that glob. Even the sewer level, the SNES had the Rat King instead of just fighting the Yellow things like it was a bonus stage. The ship s boss was Leatherface. I think even the Shredder Fight was different because you had to throw the enemies into the screen to defeat Shredder in the technodrome. The Arcade had Toka and Razar.

There was no need for this remake. Just port over original with XBLA support for 4 players online or multiplayer. Xmen Arcade was ported over with 6 player support and was made by Konami. I don't understand why they went the Ubisoft route?
