I feel like Switch is the perfect console to port everything retro. And it speaks volumes that so many games and compilations like this are coming back. It's almost like we are yearning to go back to a simpler time in gaming. No DLC, no patches, just pure pixelated/ polygonal fun.
“I fell like the switch is…” why? Put it on all platforms. It silly that developers don’t want to reach as wide an audience as possible by limiting some of their game to just the switch.
@@ovlivion81 Why? Cause these retro releases tend to have higher sales on Switch compared to other platforms. Besides that, many of these retro games have originally been created for Nintendo consoles as well and the form factor and the whole concept of the Switch are better suited for fast pick up and play games than AAA releases and these older titles are - because of their relative simplicity - ideal pick up and play games, kinda like hardcore casual games.

Kids will experience the struggles we oldies delt with on Turtles 1. The background pic of the Turtles lair is true nostalgia. My all-time favorite cartoon with James Avery as Shredder.
The thing you didn’t say about the game was it doesn’t give the original theme song for the teenage mutant ninja turtles 1989 like the arcade 1 up didn’t that makes the value of the game go down I’m for sure not buying it until the price goes down
@@davezanko9051 Mike is right without the original theme song the game isn’t the same and price isn’t worth a lot what age are you 10 years old your for sure not 30 or 40 years old I own this turtles cowabunga collection but never excepted the wrong theme when it’s released by Konami and licensed by Konami it’s not enough on the NES the game was horrible no song at all graphics was trash but now on the most powerful consoles giving the wrong theme song sound not everyone loves this theme wake up fool

It’s games like this that I don’t mind spending a $40 & up premium for. So much love & attention to detail went into this; the price is definitely justified for a true Turtle fan.

Just bought this on the Switch owned a SNES back in the day this is how a compilation should be thumbs up to Digital Eclipse and Konami for not messing it up👍

I absolutely prefer the SNES version of Turtles In Time over the arcade version. The controls are tighter, you have more options with movement and more levels and a couple being remixed. Minus it only being 2 players instead of 4, it's the better version.
I agree! The first boss battle with Shredder was iconic! The way Shredder send the Turtles through time makes more sense than the arcade version. Also, Bebop, Rocksteady, Slash, and Rat King appear in the SNES version and not in the arcade version. 😃
This collection looks absolutely amazing! I’ve had my preorder in since before there was a release date, now I kinda wish I preordered the collectors edition too. I love the idea of these little quality of life options available for each individual game, maybe I’ll finally beat the original NES game
The collectors edition is cool but probably not worth the price however since I'd been wanting the Konami TMNT games for awhile I said I'd pay almost any price so I put my money where my mouth is kinda wish it had a CD but the collection itself has a ton of stuff on it

This is the kind of game old school gamers like myself dream of! I was more hyped for this game than any other game released in the past year with the exception of Shredder’s Revenge. I’ve played about half the games in this compilation growing up, especially the SNES Tournament Fighters that me & my brothers still battle each other in til this day on my Retron system. But now to have that game, the arcade games, and all the Genesis, NES and Gameboy games in one collection?? Totally epic. I’m getting this game on Day 1 (tomorrow). Looking forward to testing the skills of the world community online in Tournament Fighters. A shame that they didn’t have Bebop and Rocksteady in the SNES Tournament Fighters game though. 🐢
@@ssaunders1122 Yea it is. I was worried for a second, because I thought that from the video the games looked like rgt was initially displaying with a large border and small screen of the actual gameplay, but he later clarified that you can adjust the size of the screen and all that.

It's nice to see collections handled in this way. I love the Capcom collections for the same reasons. Hopefully Sega, Taito, Data East and hopefully Konami will follow suit and step up accordingly.
Absolutely loved the turtles growing up. I was born in 1980 so the perfect time for them and NES and SNES. Mikey is my favourite and TMNT 2 the Arcade Game was my best turtle game memory. Will definitely check this collection out. But as you know, still hooked on Mario Maker 2 haha 26,800 beat now

Many years ago a mature couple ask me one wish, I ask for money they say not money, something possible like a product, I said I like Wild Guns, and Ninja Warriors to be available for this generation, is true, we need our favorite videogames to be available for the NKOB.
Wow, I wasn't that excited for this collection when I first saw the announcement for this and I was a huge TMNT fan in the 80s and 90s. But seeing all the extras and settings they have added in here I'm actually pretty damn impressed.
Which games would you include? The Anniversary Collection already has all the console games released before Rondo of Blood (or just after for Bloodlines, if one is being pedantic), while the Advance collection has the SNES Dracula X/Vampire's Kiss and the three GBA games. Rondo and Symphony are in the Requiem collection (which sadly is PlayStation exclusive). And the Haunted Castle arcade is in the Arcade Anniversary collection. Not sure what else is really a classic. The MSX version of the first one (known in Europe as Vampire Killer) and Sharp X68000 remake (aka Castlevania Chronicles, it's title when it was rereleased on the PS1) are the only pre-Symphony games not yet included in a recent collection. (Still surprised they weren't included in the Anniversary Collection, but being Japanese home computer, not console, games they were probably deemed too obscure.). The third original Game Boy game, Legends, has also never been rereleased (should have been a throw-in on the Advance Collection, even if it wasn't Advanced.) The N64 game(s) (which is really only one game and it's director's cut of stuff left out due to time constraints) and the 2 PS2 games aren't particularly fondly remembered, as the series has never really had a good 3D game. And the DS trilogy would be hard to port without the second screen which they mechanically relied on. I would venture a 3D collection is more likely, but probably not worth it for Konami.
It's in the SNES version of Turtles in Time and the Hyperstone Heist for Genesis. The first arcade game didn't have it, and the arcade Turtles in Time only when the player ran out of lives, not after every life.
Turtles 1 for nes is such a well made game and I prefer the side scrolling action platformer genre over beat em up genre but that 1st game was so damn hard that I never play it. It's like Zelda 2, ninja gaiden, Castlevania, MegaMan in the way that it could be one of the greatest games of all time but it's just too damn hard. If they have setting that even the playing field then this could wind up being one of my favorite releases of all time.
This collection is perfect! Has everything, screen size options, filter options, in the castlevania advance collection I just bought that game because of the castlevania x game and they messed up the screen uptions, the screen size and the filter options are not a separate option, you alrrady habe a mix of selected options, and the full size option comes with the old tv style filter, there is no full size screen without the tv filter, why the do this!? So also the cowabunga has control options, you can change the control setup, the options to remove the slowdown and flickering, really they went beyond and further. I dont mind about the online mode, I feel it is incomplete, all games that can play 2 players should be in there, tmnt 2, tmnt 3, why they are not there? But I dont mind, I am so used by now playing alone this games. My only
My only complaint is about the arcades, because you have unlimited continues, you already are in god mode, so I would like and options to not to have unlimited continues, maybe the option is there and just didnt see it, but again I can put my own rules and maybe I will quit the game if Inise more than 10 continues.
@@samuraicollector2903 That is what they did with the Xbox 360 port of the arcade TMNT game. You only got 10 lives to beat the game with the online multiplayer.
So happy we got this. So cool to have these games in one place, and presented so beautifully. I ordered the physical for Switch. I agree that SNES Turtles in Time online should be there. Some of these compilations recently have been so sweet. Capcom Fighting Collection was good too.

The select screen music was a surprise coming from the 2000 TMNT games. But I “hope” they fix the controls as you can’t play with one joycon and player 2 can’t remap their buttons.
i got shredder’s revenge day of release because my birthday was the day after and i loved that game so much i beat it in a day. honestly im planning on doing the same thing for this collection cause it’s soo good and i really like what they did with it and also because i just want to get my hands on that original arcade game again 😂

I’ll make an even bolder claim that the hyperstone heist plays better and faster. And I think Donny is balanced better so he’s actually playable.

@@ssaunders1122 Yea it is. I was worried for a second, because I thought that from the video the games looked like rgt was initially displaying with a large border and small screen of the actual gameplay, but he later clarified that you can adjust the size of the screen and all that.

It's nice to see collections handled in this way. I love the Capcom collections for the same reasons. Hopefully Sega, Taito, Data East and hopefully Konami will follow suit and step up accordingly.

Absolutely loved the turtles growing up. I was born in 1980 so the perfect time for them and NES and SNES. Mikey is my favourite and TMNT 2 the Arcade Game was my best turtle game memory. Will definitely check this collection out. But as you know, still hooked on Mario Maker 2 haha 26,800 beat now

Many years ago a mature couple ask me one wish, I ask for money they say not money, something possible like a product, I said I like Wild Guns, and Ninja Warriors to be available for this generation, is true, we need our favorite videogames to be available for the NKOB.

Wow, I wasn't that excited for this collection when I first saw the announcement for this and I was a huge TMNT fan in the 80s and 90s. But seeing all the extras and settings they have added in here I'm actually pretty damn impressed.
The comic books are only the front cover btw he didn't mention that .

Which games would you include? The Anniversary Collection already has all the console games released before Rondo of Blood (or just after for Bloodlines, if one is being pedantic), while the Advance collection has the SNES Dracula X/Vampire's Kiss and the three GBA games. Rondo and Symphony are in the Requiem collection (which sadly is PlayStation exclusive). And the Haunted Castle arcade is in the Arcade Anniversary collection.
Not sure what else is really a classic. The MSX version of the first one (known in Europe as Vampire Killer) and Sharp X68000 remake (aka Castlevania Chronicles, it's title when it was rereleased on the PS1) are the only pre-Symphony games not yet included in a recent collection. (Still surprised they weren't included in the Anniversary Collection, but being Japanese home computer, not console, games they were probably deemed too obscure.). The third original Game Boy game, Legends, has also never been rereleased (should have been a throw-in on the Advance Collection, even if it wasn't Advanced.)
The N64 game(s) (which is really only one game and it's director's cut of stuff left out due to time constraints) and the 2 PS2 games aren't particularly fondly remembered, as the series has never really had a good 3D game. And the DS trilogy would be hard to port without the second screen which they mechanically relied on. I would venture a 3D collection is more likely, but probably not worth it for Konami.
With the change region option for TMNT: Tournament Fighters on SNES, we get to see Aska's actual...... assets.
My greatest gaming achievement is beating the 1st Nes TMNT on cart. Slowdown and all.
Is it just me, but I remember the turtles saying “ugh, shellshock.” When they died but that doesn’t seem to be in the game

It's in the SNES version of Turtles in Time and the Hyperstone Heist for Genesis. The first arcade game didn't have it, and the arcade Turtles in Time only when the player ran out of lives, not after every life.
That’s awesome. The reduce slowdown/flicker options are a pleasant surprise and should greatly improve playability.
Shocker he didn’t bash on the Switch for a change ( joking for the most part ), but great to hear this game is gonna be worth it.
Turtles 1 for nes is such a well made game and I prefer the side scrolling action platformer genre over beat em up genre but that 1st game was so damn hard that I never play it. It's like Zelda 2, ninja gaiden, Castlevania, MegaMan in the way that it could be one of the greatest games of all time but it's just too damn hard. If they have setting that even the playing field then this could wind up being one of my favorite releases of all time.
Glad things turned out well for this collection release. Definitely will be checking it out.
This collection is perfect! Has everything, screen size options, filter options, in the castlevania advance collection I just bought that game because of the castlevania x game and they messed up the screen uptions, the screen size and the filter options are not a separate option, you alrrady habe a mix of selected options, and the full size option comes with the old tv style filter, there is no full size screen without the tv filter, why the do this!?
So also the cowabunga has control options, you can change the control setup, the options to remove the slowdown and flickering, really they went beyond and further. I dont mind about the online mode, I feel it is incomplete, all games that can play 2 players should be in there, tmnt 2, tmnt 3, why they are not there? But I dont mind, I am so used by now playing alone this games.

My only complaint is about the arcades, because you have unlimited continues, you already are in god mode, so I would like and options to not to have unlimited continues, maybe the option is there and just didnt see it, but again I can put my own rules and maybe I will quit the game if Inise more than 10 continues.
@@samuraicollector2903 That is what they did with the Xbox 360 port of the arcade TMNT game. You only got 10 lives to beat the game with the online multiplayer.

So happy we got this. So cool to have these games in one place, and presented so beautifully. I ordered the physical for Switch. I agree that SNES Turtles in Time online should be there.
Some of these compilations recently have been so sweet. Capcom Fighting Collection was good too.

The select screen music was a surprise coming from the 2000 TMNT games. But I “hope” they fix the controls as you can’t play with one joycon and player 2 can’t remap their buttons.

i got shredder’s revenge day of release because my birthday was the day after and i loved that game so much i beat it in a day. honestly im planning on doing the same thing for this collection cause it’s soo good and i really like what they did with it and also because i just want to get my hands on that original arcade game again 😂
