If you like the sci-fi of Star Wars things, Firefly, and such... You all should watch Stargate SG1 tv show as it was on ten years. Started on showtime and moved to Syfy channel. Stargate: Atlantis started in SG1's 8th year and lasted 5 years. Lots of content and world immersion there.
Hi guys! Not sure if you already read this in the comments, but Baxter the Fly was meant to be as though Jeff Goldblum were playing him, as in Jeff Goldblum, the lead actor of David Cronenberg's "The Fly"! Now that's brilliant!

I think that Batman needs the turtles to bring a bit of happiness into his life. I feel like after this adventure, Bruce has sent them some money for pizza, machine parts, etc.

Maybe cause the turtles each represent the different Robins in Bruce's life. It's no coincidence that the third crossover comic between them had an alternate reality where Batman was raised by Splinter (who acts as his Alfred) and the Turtles represent the different Robins (Leo = Dick, Raph = Jason, Donny = Tim, and Mikey = Damian). Also, Mikey always seems to be the opposite of who he teams up with or represents.
Bruce seems to have a better time with Turtles than with the JL
I feel like them not being humans makes him let his guard down a bit, I guess only humans make him non-trusting.

The Turttles are kinda the bridge between Marvel and DC universes, since, they are in fact on DC world, or at least in one of their Earths, but the Oose that turned them into Mutants also is what made Mathew Murdock loose his vision and become Daredevil, so the Turtles Location is a mystery...

Non visual ways to pick up on Damian: Takes everything too seriously, gets really pissed when anybody other than Bruce or Dick wear the cowl, probably in more dangerous situations when on his own, has very proper and formal way of speaking, and just overall anger than anger due to any one thing.
Also his vest kinda extends past his waist just a little, like a kind of skirt

As somebody who is a huge fan of Batman and a huge fan of the Turtles, I had a lot of expectations for this movie.
Movie knocked it out the park, I enjoyed every second of it.
That's because this was an animated movie made by people that wanted to have fun with the idea. Modern Hollywood couldn't make this in live-action if their lives depended on it.
I never thought i needed Batman vs Shredder fight.
I should also point out, the deal with Hamato Yoshi and Splinter has changed over the series: In the original Mirage comics and 2003 show, Splinter was Yoshi's pet rat who was affected with the mutagen at the same time as the turtles, while in some other continuities like 2012 show Yoshi and Splinter were one and the same.
Splinter was also Yoshi's pet rat in the original live action movies, if I remember correctly, and in the IDW comic book series Splinter is kind of both. He used to be a normal rat before he got mutated, but is also the reincarnated spirit of Hamato Yoshi.
The one that I like the most is that Yoshi was cursed to be a rat for the rest of his life, then he was mutated by the Ooze when he found the Turtles
I always found Yoshi being Splinter more believable and compelling. I find it difficult to believe a rat copied ninja moves before any sort of genetic alteration.
Yes, splinter’s true origin is that he was Hamato Yoshi before the mutagen incident. That’s how it was done in the original 1984 series
@Endless Road And makes more logical sense. When was the last time you saw a rat doing karate moves, even if its owner was a ninja.
The Robins are pretty easy to distinguish by appearance. For the most part. Damian always wears a hood, has a green domino mask and green lace-up boots, and uses a katana. That's his iconic look. Tim Drake's Robin costume is always predominantly red with a black domino mask and boots, and he uses a Bo staff. That's his iconic look. Dick and Jason's Robin costumes are identical but their personalities are night and day so you can usually tell who's who. The problem is that, for whatever reason, the animated universe keeps mismatching Robin costumes together and it confuses the hell out of people. Tim in season 3 of Young Justice is using Damian's hood and they frequently give Dick a Bo staff (Damian even had it in this movie) despite it being Tim's iconic weapon. Dick uses escrima sticks, Tim uses a Bo staff, and Damian uses a sword.
Also, I think Damian’s personality was off a bit in this movie. He was kinda a Damian/Tim amalgam.
And Jason uses the crowbar

I don't know if it's necessarily a case of confusion among adapters so much as it is an attempt at amalgamation of the designs... but yeah that does likely cause hella confusion

They never established what state Gotham is located at in the comic books. All that we of it’s location is that it is on the Northeastern coast of the U.S and that it’s not far away from Metropolis (though it’s definitely not one lake away like the BvS movie portrayed it as.)
No, metropolis is like Detroit.
There’s also normal cities in DC. Gotham has references to Louisiana and shit
My favorite part was Mikey’s infectious love for the Batman fandom. Mikey reacting to classic Batman stuff for the first time was just wonderful.
Penguin pulls out an umbrella and I know what’ll happen, but Mikey has no context for it.
I love the Mutated Joker as a smile design on the back of his head.
His look fits his personality.
Now that they said it, I'm honestly shocked they didn't make *him* the manbat! That was be so on brand given his obsession with Batman!
I feel like originally he was gonna have two faces or two heads but the second didn't develop all the way hence why it's only a picture on the back of his head
There actually are snakes in real life that have patterns on the top of their head that looks like a face. They look cool
You guys' reactions to the humor and references in this might just be my favourite thing ever. 11:35 is a stand out highlight among them.

The original comic book that this movie is based the Turtles are actually from another dimension. That is actually a big plot point in the story of that book, the longer the turtles remained in Batman’s universe their mutations start to revert them back to normal turtles so they had to hurry to get themselves back to there dimension before it’s to late. Splitter, Casey, and April were there with the Turtles as well, but Baxter Stockman wasn’t there, Shredder just had some generic scientist he held hostage. Also in the comic book Batman showed Raphael the area where his parents died at to show Ralph that he was more then just some rich guy playing hero. The Turtles also encountered Killer Croc but that wasn’t revenant to the story other then a fight scene. Oh and the Penguin mutated as well into a... uh.. Penguin.
They skipped a lot of stuff that was cool. Like batman giving don a pep talk, Leo and bat sparring with splinter talking to them. Ralph and Damian bonding.
I wish the movie was split into 3. Wasnt a big fan of the movie. It was meh
Hope they can do that "Hurry back to home dimension" thing along with the other stuff they left out in this in the sequel...if a sequel is ever made, that is.

Baxter Stockman's voice is a parody of Jeff Goldblum, who starred in the movie The Fly.
I wouldn't mind so much if he was voiced by Jeff Goldblum as well!
Baxter was already funny in this but knowing he was patterned after Goldblum makes it even more hilarious
This is one of the best crossover animated film I have ever seen!

The Red suit in Batman's shrine is what Bob Kane originally had thought of batman's look when he co-created him. Bill finger, the true co-creator, is responsible for giving us everything we love about Batman today
Bill and Bob's suits are both side by side too. You can tell from the arched bat ears and the purple gloves.
I have a special fondness for that red suit as it looks like it's from The Incredibles.
The best logic I can come up with for mutagen transformations is
1) Whatever organism you last had physical contact with
2) Any organism that’s in the same vat of mutagen as you
3) Spirit animals
I think if I took the mutagen I'd become a slightly weaker human.

They kinda went with Out of the Shadows rules, where the Ooze is basically irony crack. You're obsessed with the cold? Polar Bear. You're called Scarecrow? You're gonna be a crow. You're a clown girl that owes hyenas? You're gonna be the scariest thing in the movie!

this was one of my favorite depictions of the *Ninja Turtles* second only to the _2012 series_ on _Nickelodeon_
the 2003 series was the best animation
but the original black and white mirage comics are the best overall
2003 series has gotta be the best animated tmnt series though

36:10 Apparently the Sataoshi strike has appeared before in Turtles comics, it's just never been named before this movie.
Isn't Joker's gas major ingredient Cobra Venom? The Ooze changes anyone into whatever Animal you touched last, to simplify it. (side-note: that includes Fossils) So Joker turning into a Cobra makes sense.
In some incarnations, the ooze can turn you into something random, in the bay movie because we shear DNA with all other animals it turns you into the animal you shear the most DNA with, this seems to be the case in this movie too

When my husband and I first watched this movie, we truly believed that Mark Hamill had returned to play The Joker. (Seriously. Close your eyes & listen when this Joker talks.) When we read the credits, we were shocked to say the least. This guy did an incredible job. He actually sounds like Mark Hamill's Joker. Threw us for a loop. 👏👏👏
Troy Baker is worthy successor to Mark Hamill's legacy as the Joker.

When Mark Hammel was interviewed once about his past roles as a jedi, Joker and other bit parts he does, they asked him if he would ever voice Joker soon, or why he doesn't voice him any more.
Hammel's responce?
Kevin Conroy was his buddy. Anytime a project came to him asking if he will voice Joker he first asks "Is Kevin Conroy" going to be voicing Batman? If the answer is no, the Hammel declines. If Conroy says yes and they need a Joker, he would ask his agent if he can voice him.
Kevin was his buddy in those times. They may play different parts of the law, but Mark had so much respect for Kevin.
As such he said he would voice Joker if they got Kevin as Batman, not including AI controlled speech either.
Honestly it was touching and sad.
But yeah, he pretty much stated he won't be taking any jobs any more.

Both 2003 and 2012 TMNT are pretty damn amazing. I personally prefer 2012 more, because I like the story and characters more there.

Gotham is kinda based on new york from what I remember, that's why I loved when the turtles said "This looks exactly like new york!"
In the movie Batman an the turtles exist in the same universe, but in the comic book crossover it's dimension-hopping like Aaron guessed, and like the Ghostbusters crossover.
The Baxter Stockman voice was an impression of Jeff Goldblum, who was The Fly in the Cronenberg remake of the movie that was the pop culture reference which inspired Baxter to turn into a fly in the '87 series! Probably my favorite reference in the movie 🪰

The crazy thing is that I first saw this on Nickelodeon in 2020 (on the day that I was reported that I graduated no less) and I was I felt like a kid again with the action and references. Also, I was surprised that they kept the bloody scenes.
Tim, Dick, and Jason are gonna be pissed that Batman threw a pizza party without them lol.
Dick is in another city Tim might be at college and Jason might be dead or might be doing some soul-searching to deal with the fact that he was once dead
Jason is already dead in this version. I’m assuming dick is nightwing at this point and Tim is either Red Robin or not introduced yet.

Harley Quinn had two hyenas in the cartoon. So I guess that was the reason why. Love that Poison Ivy scene, just perfect for this silly movie.
This I have to admit has become my most loved animated crossover, just watched it yesterday. Hope there's a sequel.

Okay, this is one of those movies...the kind that shouldn't fucking work...but turned into a match made in heaven! My god, just...the perfect amount of crazy, perfect amount of easter eggs, perfect amount of over the top. This is a fucking masterpiece!!!!
Its funny how people like the mutagen explanation in this movie, but when TMNT Out Of The Shadows did it, it was ridiculed

Just to clarify from what I can remember:
In the original comic Splinter was a Rat who's owner fell in love with a woman that shredders brother also fell in love with.
Shredders brother was killed and shredder took vengeance by killing Splinter's owners after they moved to New York.
Splinter then came in contact with the mutagen along with the turtles and raised them to eventually defeat and more then likely kill shredder.
Which basically ends with Leo asking for shredder kill himself and Donatello hitting shredder in the face with a grenade which seemingly kills him.
I like how they did the designs in the 2003 they didn't over do it but if it was in black and white you could still tell who they were.

Joker did turn into a hyena in the comics but I guess they changed.
Mutagen is different between adaptions, in the 80’s cartoon it was the most sensical since it just fused you with the last animal you touched.
You know running over someone in Gotham you are more likely to hit a criminal then a innocent.
With that whole what if Mark played Batman and Joker, I imagined him using his Luke voice for Batman.
As for where Gotham is, in the original, original comics, It took place in just literally New York but now a days, Gotham is usually in New Jersey and Metropolis is in like Delaware.

There are so many references to the TMNT comics, cartoons, movies, and toys. The Foot logo from the 2003 series is on Shredder, while the Foot Clan use the logo from the 87 cartoon. The voice of the Fly is a Jeff Goldblum impression. The pose the turtles make after suiting up is straight from the 87 cartoon intro. One of Penguin's thugs looks similar to Krang's bogy suit. Those are all I can think of at the moment that you guys did not mention.
So glad to see you guys loved this movie as much as I did.
