i love how scarecrow's toxin turned the movie a bit dark with seeing the turtles dying in leonardo's arms, that is leonardo's fear to fail his brothers, he is their leader.
Which is Leo's fear in most TMNT canon including the current comics done by IDW and is the reason why it took 5 to 6 issues in the current comics after becoming the leader of the new modern-day version of the Hamato Ninja clan to finally name April as his Chunin aka the 2nd in command due to him being afraid of her dying while out on a mission or defending the base while he's out on a mission. And well Splinter if he was in the film would consider Scarecrow one of the more deadlier enemies as while yeah Jonathan isn't that physically strong the fact he can cause lasting mental and spiritual scars by turning your darkest fears into a weapon makes him a dangerous foe, and Splinter would be quick to realize that while yeah Scarecrow won't cause damaging physical scars, the fact he can cause damaging mental and spiritual scars makes him even more dangerous.
The only one time where two movies being part of a connected universe that were really great were Justice League Crisis on Two Earths and Doom, they are league above the new 52 ones. Batman: Assault on Arkham was part of the Arkham-verse so I think that count as well, and that movie was great as well, much better than Hell to Pay.
Agreed. But also they need to play with batman more then just keeping him monotoned and basically the same personality. The batman i grew up with which has the best movie is mask of the phantasm. And even batman beyond return of joker are based off the best batman animated show ever.

With Leonardo he shares his duty of responsibility, with Donatelo they can put their brains to good use, with Mikey they can share a couple of horrible jokes, and with Raph he can help him deal with anger managment by showing him that being edgy isn't all that great (because boy, oh boy, Parker sure knows a thing or two about where being an edgelord could lead you)

The problem with DC animation for a while now is that they're treating these movies more like a mass produced franchise. There's been a pretty strict schedule for those New 52 movies. You'll notice how they came out in a pretty set interval. WB has been refusing to give the writers the time and budget they need on those movies. They have to keep to the schedule and keep costs down. That's why I think the end of the New 52 movies will be a good thing. WB is returning to an older way of making these films like back when they made Wonder Woman and Under the Red Hood. They're letting the writers do what they want instead of putting the writers on a production line churning out predetermined products.
I know not everybody likes him but I really enjoyed the hbomberguy video about The Killing Joke film; I think it makes some really good points about how the additions to it, at best, add little to the product and more often than not takes away from it, while also pointing out that the recreation of the original story in the second half doesn't quite have the same spark of life as that original. I think that's something unfortunately true for most of DC AU films being made now, where they sometimes fail to work as adaptions and, failing that, don't manage to mark out their own identity enough to be appreciated for their intepretation (like the Hush film).
I was a big fan of the DC animated movies for several years, then, I agree, once they started doing interconnected New 52 movies, and less and less standalone adaptations, they went downhill for me. Then they adapted two of my favorite Batman stories and trashed them both, so I rarely even go in for those anymore. This was a huge exception for me. The first DC animated movie I've genuinely loved in a LONG time.
The animation was always kind of disapointing too, I get they don't have a feature budget for these, but they could do A LOT better, as shown in the Batman Ninja movie, hire a promising/good director and an animation studio like in OVAs instead of just hastily make a weak story board and outsorce everything, not having a Hollywood budget doesn't have to result boring lifeless with the right talent. And the recent approach of faithfully adapting the new 52 comics doesn't help, not just because the new 52 sucks ass, but also because since they're not making a tv series, they have to omit a lot of stuff, which makes the world building feel very disjointed if we want to believe they're all in the same universe. Plus this isn't manga, Super hero comics have many different continuities and are all way too convoluted for a one to one adaptation and cinematic universe, due to the never ending nature of them, plus in-continuity retcon events are already annoying in comics we don't THOSE to get animated.
I never get sick of you talking about Batman stuff. Your Batman related videos tend to be my favorite things you do on the channel because you have such a good grasp on his character for deep analysis and you can make the best jokes at his expense.
As much as I enjoyed this movie, the first Batman TMNT comic series was so much better. I was so upset when they removed the scene where Batman takes Raph to Crime Ally. Not because of the meme, but because it was such a well executed scene. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it yet. You should absolutely read the first series. One of the best things I've ever read.

I completely agree about your preference of Batman. It’s part of a reason why the 1989 Batman is my favorite, he wasn’t nearly invincible and was more of the mysterious detective that knew enough but not everything. Many would disagree but I think Batman forever also has a great Bruce Wayne/Batman. Val’s take was very good, not only was he a specific version of the character I like but also that he was against having a partner at first but grew to accept the help and he didn’t always succeed in his mission.

Did you know, that not only was this adapted from a comic title, there was ALSO a crossover with the 2012 turtles and Kevin Conroy's Animated Series Batman 👀👀👀
It's a fun series, deidrich bater is an underrated batman, he does get left out in the cold especially since Will Arnet came along to fill the lot of zanier takes on the batman character.
@giftofgab247 The show was a tribute the cheesy silver age team up comics that Batman frequently found himself in. It's literally named after The Brave and The Bold Vol. 1, a team up book that frequently involved Batman and many other characters. And it's a beautiful tribute. It's fun, it's colourful. The plots are delightfully silly and hammy, but still have satisfying and logical conclusions (something that silver age comics often struggled at). It's just a great show that beautifully translates a woefully underappreciated piece of Batman's history into the more streamlined and polished medium of 21st century animation.
Same here. This would be perfect as my most favorite incarnation in terms of tone was 2012 cause yeah it could be goofy, and cheesy like the popular 80s cartoon, but also knew when to go in the direction of the comics done by Mirage, Image, and the current ones done by IDW that being dark, serious, and mature when it was appropriate. So a new TMNT cartoon that's more like the 2012 cartoon in terms of tone, but with this art-style would be awesome.
"That's your sister" - Actually Ninja Turtles Next Mutation revealed that the Turtles AREN'T brothers and were just random pet store turtles all clumped together so technically Venus isn't related to them biologically just like how none of them are biologically related to her. Yeah they did that bullshit just so they can push her as a romantic option for the other turtles even though a big part of any other series and the comics and films and lore of the series the fact the turtles are BROTHERS AND FAMILY AND HAVE THAT CONNECTION AS A PART OF THEIR ORIGIN! So yeah never think Next Mutation is as bad as it's reputation lets on; it's so much worse. Seriously Phelous is reviewing each and every episode and the show keeps finding new ways of being an obnoxious failure week after week.
I agree with you that this is a great movie. It would be nice if there were sequels that adapted IDW and DC's Batman/TMNT 2 and 3 especially since 3 had a different version of the turtles and the bat family facing off against Krang... who has taken over the Anti-Monitor. I'm not kidding.
I buy all the DC animated movies on Blu-Ray and 4K Blu-Ray, and this is easily one of the best films they’ve dropped in the last 2-3 years! I was so surprised by the quality and pure entertainment of this crossover. It made me buy the entire run of the comics it was based on, and I can’t wait for the inevitable sequel hinted by the post credit scene.
I was very pleasantly surprised when I initially watched this movie. Characters were enjoyable and the story didn't focus too heavily on how these two IP's even co-existed much to the films benefit.
If you think about There's a lot of ninja accuracy in this amazing movie too Batman and shredder(kinda) are wearing blue(YES ninja wear blue) Shredder Used the ninja star to insta kill someone by going for the head which is what your supposed to do if you use it to kill Batman also kinda used this like it but more as a distraction (even if it didn't work) Shredder used the smoke bomb thing same with the turtles to seemingly teleport away which is common but still kinda ninja accurate believe it or not And finally the turtles and foot take the lights out to hide in the darkness Even when the turtles don't follow this rule,it's because they're teenagers, they're learning And Batman well,he's not full ninja so any mistake to that is because he's not full ninja,he's something else
I really liked the personality of them in this version, a lot like the 2003/80s comic version instead of the 80s cartoon version which wasn’t amazing in my opinion. Especially Mikey. This is the only animated version besides 2003 to not be annoying
I loved Batman Vs Shredder. It combines two or three martial arts and looks very painful at times seeing Batman and Shredder body check each other slamming heads into consoles and bars and Shredder is a master ninja and teacher rival to Master Splinter I’m skills so I like that Batman held his own and seeing Rha’s Al Ghul team up with Shredder makes sense. You get to see Leonardo nut check Rha’s Al Ghul. The Vs TMNT is like a few moments but bit long to justify a VS title I believe.
You are my all time favorite TH-cam no competition i don’t even need to watch the whole video and I all ready liked it as soon as I see it you are the best comic and pretty much everything nerdy channel ever made keep up the good work
i think arkham knight batman isn't a bad example of batman being a know it all as a ton of bad stuff happens and he distances himself from his allies to make sure they don't end up like Barbra or Jason
Apparantly, *Troy Baker* voiced both Batman _AND_ Joker in this. Knowing that, I wonder if there were any instances in the recording booth where he was basically just talking to himself as if in a conversation. Must've been chuckle-worthy at the very least.
Ditto on the suit. As a kid I preferred black and gray but now I'd love to see the blue with yellow oval come back. It helps that a lot of great classic Batman comics actually use that suit. Also, a lighthearted Batman against a dark world is pretty much Grant Morrison's run, which is my favorite of all time, and he does get the yellow oval for Batman Inc.
As soon as Raph bashed a man's face in, I knew I was in for a ride. And yeah, It's Utrom Shredder remains the first childhood villain I was ever scared of.
They should do a sequel at least three of them. The second one would be known as "revenge of the demon and foot" Starting with Talia al Ghul Karai Deathstroke Trigon Bebop Rocksteady Night wing Casey Jones Raven April O'Neill Beast boy Master splinter Star fire Miyamoto Usagi Killer croc Hum Leather head Catwoman Tokka Rahzar Red hood For the third one I call it "Justice league invasion of dimension x" Superman Wonder women Green lantern Cyborg Flash Martian manhunter Lex luthor Brainiac Steppenwolf Darksied Agent Bishop Professor Honeycutt Metal head Slash Mondo gecko Muckman Wingnut Screw loose Emperor Krang Lord dregg Hi tech Mozar the triceraton
Really hope they do one with Spider-Man someday. That would be a Really brilliant and perfect crossover series. From College years to Symbiote days to Clone Saga. I also think that Ben and Kaine could play a bigger role in the series.
I really liked this movie, but that part where they had the 3 minute long conflict where Batman was saying he was gonna do everything alone really threw me for a loop. It literally cane out of nowhere and was resolved in 30 seconds, felt completely pointless and seemed to be there just so we could have a speech about the importance of friends and a brief conflict between our main characters but without any real consequences.
I can see what you’re saying, but I really liked Raph’s speech (and I especially loved the fact that it came from Raph of all people) so I personally didn’t really mean the conflict being there.
I’ve actually avoided this movie because I thought it’d just be a lazily put together movie exclusively aimed towards young kids. But after seeing this, I might check it out.
Dude yes! When that ninja got killed I had the same reaction. I hope they do a part 2 in the future. These animated movies they've been doing have been really entertaining, The mortal kombat one they did was pretty good as well.

I swear Donnie is a pro when it comes to the ladies! He even got Babs on social media. Not bad my purple brotha!
Watched it with my dad. Awesome experience since I’ve grown up watching TMNT with him and reading Batman comics
I'm glad that someone else likes Brave and the Bold for what it is. I see no praise for it because people can't handle that it isn't exactly like TAS.
Any animated thing including batman gets shit on for not being the animated series.
@@TheJuicyJediJester , pretty much
It's a fun series, deidrich bater is an underrated batman, he does get left out in the cold especially since Will Arnet came along to fill the lot of zanier takes on the batman character.
I’d argue it gets enough love. Beware the Batman is the one that gets crapped on for no reason.
i really want that Ch’rell plush . i will totally input it in to my body to make a perfect cosplay
I like to think of it as an alternate version of Batman begins that takes place further in and has the ninja turtles
Man I wish we would get a tmnt series with these turtles
I think my favorite part of this is the Turyles designs. Just the blank eyes make me think of the 2003 series and makes me nostalgic
These turtles are heavily based on he 03 turtles.
This movie is so good, I'm glad you're covering it
I always love seeing someone else that loves batman and hearing their opinions. Lets be real batman is definitely the most awesome character.
"MICHELANGELO IS BRAINDEAD!"
I feel like they might do a sequel down the line. Why else would they add that Stinger with Joker Shredder?
JimboJoe1234 a hopeful the rat king
Shredder 1v1 Batman and later Batman saying “cowabunga” was just chefs kiss
I buy all the DC animated movies on Blu-Ray and 4K Blu-Ray, and this is easily one of the best films they’ve dropped in the last 2-3 years! I was so surprised by the quality and pure entertainment of this crossover. It made me buy the entire run of the comics it was based on, and I can’t wait for the inevitable sequel hinted by the post credit scene.
This movie had cursing and blood. It played on Nicktoons with nothing censored and I was pretty surprised what happened when I saw it on the channel
This movie makes me want a Superman Spider-Man movie in this style but theres no way that would ever happen
Didn't expect this movie to be that violent
It has a PG-13 Rating on it for a Reason.
I was very pleasantly surprised when I initially watched this movie. Characters were enjoyable and the story didn't focus too heavily on how these two IP's even co-existed much to the films benefit.
Even though I agree with what you said, I still sorta wish there was some explanation for the Turtles, Shredder, and the Foot ended up in Gotham.
I went in not expecting much, but this movie really surprised me.
This is a sign that we need more animated tmnt standalone films
First premiere from from Xavier and him talking about one of my favorite film's let's friggin go
The 2003 cartoon was surprisingly dark, Baxter Stockman's missing limbs can tell you that.
The box art for this movie makes Donatello look like he's seen the end of days
Really tired of the invincible and genius unrelatable batman too
I hope DC can start making more original animated movies like these because that’s what they’re best at.
If you think about
There's a lot of ninja accuracy in this amazing movie too
Batman and shredder(kinda) are wearing blue(YES ninja wear blue)
Shredder Used the ninja star to insta kill someone by going for the head which is what your supposed to do if you use it to kill
Batman also kinda used this like it but more as a distraction (even if it didn't work)
Shredder used the smoke bomb thing same with the turtles to seemingly teleport away which is common but still kinda ninja accurate believe it or not
And finally the turtles and foot take the lights out to hide in the darkness
Even when the turtles don't follow this rule,it's because they're teenagers, they're learning
And Batman well,he's not full ninja so any mistake to that is because he's not full ninja,he's something else
still waiting on the next episode of the Mortal Kombat retrospective
Shredder vs Batman felt awesome
This vid come outs the exact time my job interview is wth
Saw this for the first time last week. Loved it.
I really liked the personality of them in this version, a lot like the 2003/80s comic version instead of the 80s cartoon version which wasn’t amazing in my opinion. Especially Mikey. This is the only animated version besides 2003 to not be annoying
Is he gonna make a new avenger game video to tell us his new thoughts and opinions
He’ll probably just wait for the release and properly review it
Patrick Beattie He'll talk about it when it releases.
@@patrickbeattie3496 maybe
Really good I loved it! I loved the animation, the colors, designs.. jokes and action!
I want a sequel..
You should make a video about Rise of the TMNT. Totally underrated show with awesome animation, likable characters, and an epic theme song!
5:44 Just like I love Shredder as rouge ninja.
Now all we need is a Spider-Man and Ninja Turtles crossover.
More like Daredevil & the TMNT.
That's dumb.
I loved this movie! It was so cool to see Batman fight shredder
Apparantly, *Troy Baker* voiced both Batman _AND_ Joker in this. Knowing that, I wonder if there were any instances in the recording booth where he was basically just talking to himself as if in a conversation. Must've been chuckle-worthy at the very least.
"This is where my parents died Raphael"
"Brass monkey, those funky monkeys"
I watched this with complete hesitation and walked away with complete satisfaction.
I agree with you, Xavier! This film is absolutely fantastic!
Let's go Xavier and team! Love that ur still exploring different characters despite the pressure from the community.
OH COME ON THIS VID HAD TO COME OUT NOT EVEN 2 DAYS AFTER THE RISE OF THE TMNT FINALE NOW IM GONNA START CRYING CAUSE OF HOW MUCH I MISS MY BOYS
EXACTLY 😭
How about Batman vs. Bruce Lee! (looks at phone)That’s actually happening? Wow.
Batman: This is where i watched my parents die Raphael...
Raph: Same place where I killed some loser's parents in my Nightwatcher suit
Such a great movie. I wasn't expecting much until that shuriken. Then all bets were off.
One of the best dc animated movies in a long time
As soon as Raph bashed a man's face in, I knew I was in for a ride. And yeah, It's Utrom Shredder remains the first childhood villain I was ever scared of.
They should do a sequel at least three of them. The second one would be known as "revenge of the demon and foot"
Starting with
Talia al Ghul
Karai
Deathstroke
Trigon
Bebop
Rocksteady
Night wing
Casey Jones
Raven
April O'Neill
Beast boy
Master splinter
Star fire
Miyamoto Usagi
Killer croc
Hum
Leather head
Catwoman
Tokka
Rahzar
Red hood
For the third one I call it "Justice league invasion of dimension x"
Superman
Wonder women
Green lantern
Cyborg
Flash
Martian manhunter
Lex luthor
Brainiac
Steppenwolf
Darksied
Agent Bishop
Professor Honeycutt
Metal head
Slash
Mondo gecko
Muckman
Wingnut
Screw loose
Emperor Krang
Lord dregg
Hi tech
Mozar the triceraton
Really hope they do one with Spider-Man someday. That would be a Really brilliant and perfect crossover series. From College years to Symbiote days to Clone Saga. I also think that Ben and Kaine could play a bigger role in the series.
I gotta be honest. I thought this was gonna suck but it was actually amazing and I ended up loving it and how dark it is
I really liked this movie, but that part where they had the 3 minute long conflict where Batman was saying he was gonna do everything alone really threw me for a loop.
They need to do a decent power rangers and tmnt team up like based on those comics.
"Senõr batman and his bat-familia" that had me in tears
I’ve actually avoided this movie because I thought it’d just be a lazily put together movie exclusively aimed towards young kids. But after seeing this, I might check it out.
U should
I went in hoping against hope that it'd be good, and was shocked by how much I loved it.
Perfect how it jumped right into the action no boring scenes at all
Dude yes! When that ninja got killed I had the same reaction. I hope they do a part 2 in the future. These animated movies they've been doing have been really entertaining, The mortal kombat one they did was pretty good as well.
I love this movie but I completely forgot how Dark and Disturbing this was.
The description gave me PTSD.
