I have tried to like this early NES "Black Box" game, but it just plays like garbage. At least, it does on the Switch. It's also glitchy and borderline-broken to the point where I wonder if anyone ever tested the game for bugs before shipping it to the public. The enemy re-spawn is ridiculous. Sometimes, they just randomly appear from behind that there is almost no time for the player to react. Critics back in the 1980s mostly didn't like Mach Rider either. The general consensus was to leave it alone.
@TheCartridgeTwins I was not expecting the game to play so badly for a first-party game from Nintendo themselves. It definitely does not show off the graphical power of the NES at the time of its release, which is disappointing.

Good to know as I've considered giving this one a shot.
