And when CE finally released on the Xbox years after OG fans were blown away by their favorite childhood gbc game coming to life with stunning realistic looking graphics at the time. Halo would forever be changed as it morphed into the fps icon they eventually came to know it as. Tho fans heavily praise the shift from this into the fps genre they never forget where Halo started and still look back on its GBC roots with fond memories and nostalgia.

Lol. The music is the one thing that actually does come from the actual games. (Or at least it was very closely remade). There's an Easter egg in Halo Infinite that has an arcade machine full of these 8-bit soundtrack remakes.
I remember a couple of Ghost Recon games on Java for Symbian systems from two decades ago that were the bomb. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, I think they were. There was a 300 game too that was amazing.

When I was in school I drew up UI concepts for a turn-based Halo game in the style of Final Fantasy Tactics. Would have loved to make something of it, but I guess I didn't think I would be able to get anywhere. It remained just an idea. These projects are cool to see. Shows that if you have the dedication, you can make something of your ideas.

I never had the luxury of a gameboy color, only the grey brick, but this was a nice experience. Especially playing one of my favorite games in this demake. The glitched death had me so worried that I’d have to restart ngl😂
The first Halo demake I ever played was Eric Ruth’s Pixel Force series, which covered DJ Hero, Left 4 Dead, and Halo CE, all as if for NES. They’re all great games I recommend.
Not just closer, but basically contemporary. The Gameboy Advanced only released a couple months before Halo: CE, and the Color only released like three years before. One could VERY reasonably be playing their Gameboy Color while waiting in line for Halo’s midnight release.

Aesthetically it's supper amazing to see! I think the biggest issue is translating aiming to this kind of top down approach for a gameboy color. Especially when the enemies can hit you diagonally and you can't do the same in return. I think as a side scroller like the Alien games would have been an easier aiming experience for a devolution.
This was like a perfect version of someone describing halo if you'd never played it before. It hit all the points in a fast paced but tptally accurate way. Memories of playing Halo for the first time are some pretty excellent ones. The feeling of never having played a game like it before and experiencing it real time with my best friend playing split screen co op just shitting our pants over how cool this game was(is still)
Total gameboy nostalgia 2001? Year there were plenty of great games just like this one of my favorites is quest for camelot. Awesome video awesome console the gameboy has to be top 20 consoles of all time just for its titles

OMG this is fucking AMAZING!!! I'm sitting here watching this with just the biggest goofiest smile on my face. From a nearly Day 1 Halo veteran (I was still in basic when it released... little hard to get my hands on an XBOX there!), this made me happy in ways I didn't even know I could be happy again. The 8-bit theme, the faithfulness to the source... but dude, those grunts are a LOT tougher than they have any right to be compared to how that elite went down like a bitch!
I was chillin in the womb during the release of halo CE, but that never stopped me from playing halo at some point, and when I saw this, I was SUPER excited to try it out and I can’t wait for more levels to be finished. The creator is staying faithful and seems like they’re putting their heart and soul in this which I love. I’m glad this has sparked joy in your life as well!
It’s missing hinting arrows but apart from that this is really neat. And maybe grenades or weapons menu. And for the vehicle tunnel section, some large doors that open after defeating enemies or doing a task

The enemy damage definitely needs some tuning, idk how a flood level would even be possible to play with as much damage as a single grunt does
I do think it should be tweaked a lil, but I just think of it as if I’m playing heroic/legendary
