  • Camp Mode is not officially supported in BYD Seal, but there is a trick to enable a “showroom mode” which works similarly to the camp mode, dog mode or utility mode, keeping the infotainment and air conditioning fully functional, but making the car static (not drivable) in this mode.
NOTE: this trick is not mentioned in the instruction manual of the car, and the behavior may vary depending on the software version, so try this at your own risk! In this video I will enter this mode and exit it by using a button combo with the steering wheel buttons.I will also share three other practical tips and tricks with the BYD Seal, including a secret compartment, a way to reset trip meter and change between trips and odometer, as well as setting up custom wallpapers to the car.

am picking my 24 Model Seal Premium up late Oct and literally can't wait, I use the car for business so am going to be checking the showroom mode as well, might also be able to check out the showroom mode and charge at the same time to see if it does or not, I would be able to check out when get the Seal, my Seal is Artic Blue in Color Premium Trim with the full leather seats, HUD, 82Kw/h Battery Pack and do the 650 Km range which I will also test out as well...

I wonder if I can use camp mode + v2l, since normally you can't have the ac running with v2l

Cool, I would really like to set Up any shortcut button to control the Generative Brake levels (standard or high)
If ...there had been something like the "S3XI buttons" for the Model 3 , for the BYD Seal It would be great to do It...
Imagine to stick those S3XY buttons behind the steering wheel to control the regenerative Brake levels as the mercedes eqe does...
Or at least as I said, to use any another phisical buttons to set It this function.

My previous car was Hyundai Kona Electric with paddles behind the steering wheel where you could very easily control the regen levels while driving. Also Ioniq 5 and 6 have these, probably Kia EV line-up as well. It's the best solution I've seen so far.

@@ElectricSeal-bq5wu but...is there any possible solution to do that on the BYD Seal??

However, It is possible to do It on the BYD Seal??? Any chance?

@@Andrew-Night No, there is no way to customize the buttons for that function. So you need to rely on the infontainment settings view. Maybe they'll add a shortcut and a voice command in the future.

@@ElectricSeal-bq5wu I agree, yes KIA has the same feature, Renault also.

Thank you for the video. Would the car still charge in showroom mode?

Good question! Need to test the charging, haven’t tried it yet with this mode.

Question? When in show room mode, does it disable child presence detection (CPD) so that you can sit in the car etc and not have the horn go off after a few minutes? Would be handy when waiting in the car for the kids or going into the shops with the dog in the car.

I think CPD is enabled only when the car is off. If you keep car on, like it is also in this mode, CPD shouldn’t be triggered. Haven’t yet tested it, but that’s how it should logically work. Will update info here once I get to verify it.

Surprisingly few EVs have a dedicated camp mode or utility mode setting, or ability to run the AC/heater for continuously e.g. 1 day non-stop. Many manufacturers like VW, Stellantis have been lacking that for a long time. What BYD has done is that you can keep the AC running the whole night with car powered on normally, doors locked and lights off - that is without any specific extra mode needed. I've done this myself and slept one night in the car, so that is already fine for the "camping" use case.
BUT: if for some reason you want to make sure car is static and cannot be set to drive, then this showroom mode achieves that and seems practically identical to the camp mode. And this they could easily convert to a setting in the infotainment, like you suggested. I don't see why they couldn't add it, as only the UI entry point would be needed.

Are tou able to get heating or cooling working in showroom mode? It seems to only run the fan.

    • @ElectricSeal-bq5wu
      @ElectricSeal-bq5wu  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

Did you do the left arrow or right arrow? With the left arrow, there should be ac. At least it was blowing cool air.

@@ElectricSeal-bq5wuYes, you are correct, I tried it again and the left hand arrow enables outdoor show mode and the AC works. The right arrow turns on indoor show mode but then only the fan works.
