I agreed with all critisms with Wii U's classic mode, but that boss fight was EPIC. I have never had my heart beating as fast as when I beat master fortress on the highest difficulty.
You gotta love how Classic mode is handled in Ultimate. Not only do they design it for every individual fighter but the mural is breathtaking when you reach the end. I do hope Target Practices comes back in an update soon though

When I was a kid, my uncle told me and my sisters that, in Smash 64, if you beat 1P Game with 1 life on very hard, you'd unlock a Dark Link and Dark Ness. I was disappointed 2 weeks ago.
I just love how much detail these people put into Smash Ultimate. It makes my heart soar to see the little nods to the games each character came from. All those details are so intricate it makes my inner fan girl scream. From the alternate costumes fighters can have, to their taunts and attacks, or even the mini things like how a character moves or in some cases die, it’s just beautiful. I hope that maybe I can do something like this some day. It’s such a satisfying feeling to know that there are people out there who care so much about their characters that they will devote as much attention to them as possible. 😍

It still would have been interesting, especially with a roster so large. It would have been more of a feat to accomplish. Its not like 100 melee isnt a thing, so 74 isnt so crazy
@@ManDudeMcHumanGuy Yeah, and there is an All-Star Mode like 100 Melee in the game. But a proper All-Star Mode would mean 74 normal characters to fight not easy to launch ones. That would increase the playtime at least by six times. And you would still have to split it up and give the player options to heal so it would be even longer.

It's true that Shulk fights robots in his base game, but I think the main reason he fights Mega Man at the end of his Classic mode is because Mega Man is, y'know, known for being adaptable? Just like the very concept of Monado Arts, and a good way to cap off a campaign where every fighter represented just one of the Monado attributes.
The original Smash Bros has my favorite Classic Mode (until Ultimate came around). I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s got something to do with the unique fighters you challenged at the time, whether metal, giant, or hordes. Plus, these bonus stages are my favorite to play, whether target breaking, platform boarding, or finishing races. There is also the fact that you fought on stages you couldn’t play on with friends. And lastly, the announcer was just very good sounding. Really, it’s the simplicity of the Mode that sells it for me.
Somehow, I am immune to hating Smash 4's Classic Mode. I will admit the absence of minigames, no proper theming, random Intruders, and only two lives sucked, but I really enjoyed it, especially the Wii U version. Ultimate's Classic Mode, however, appears to be a significant improvement; each character has a dedicated theme and there are much more bosses. I will certainly try out each character's romp once I get the game. Nice work, Ant.
One of my favorite Classic mode stories in Ultimate was probably Cloud’s. It was titled “A ride? No thank you.” And for a while, I was confused until I realized it was referring to how Cloud gets motion sickness and every stage you fight on is a moving stage or vehicle related stage. And I LOVED THAT. It’s incredible to see how much detail these stories have and I love nearly all of them. Kirby’s was also fun too. They start you off with 30% damage and food items spawn for you to eat. The title is “Gourmet Race.” Fitting right?
I am a PERSON it is relative to the video in the sense that i made a comment about him going from Kirby and the SUCC gang, to Smash Bros. So I stated that, jokingly, Miitopia is next. That spawned into a section in which, and I quote, Hank Hill is a better pop star than real pop stars, because in Miitopia, pop Star is a class in which it is the only gender differentiation in Male/Female. I assume Hank Hill is the male, or else, I'm confused too.
Most of the time, I play Smash Bros on my own, no Multiplayer. So Classic Mode usually is something pretty important to me. And while I miss individual Break the Target and Board the Platforms for each character, Smash Ultimate's Classic Mode really is my favorite one of them all. Especially after getting the one from Smash for Wii U. That one was the worst.
I love all of smash, even the things almost everybody hates (like brawl and smash tour), so it's nice to see someone appreciating the things i'm forced to appreciate because i have no friends. Great vid as always, and have a nice day (also i have your yeth shirt and i love it)
-Wii Fit Trainer's Classic Mode is about getting fat asses into shape. -Lucario has all characters with the ability to Counter as one of their moves. -Bayonetta ends with you fighting an army of Pits and a giant Palutena (Jubileus). -Mewtwo has you fighting all the clone characters, ending in a 4v4 battles against Pikachiu (which really should have been a tiny Mewtwo to represent Mew).
I always thought that getting to fight Master Core was a fun incentive for playing Classic Mode on a higher difficultly. The fact that you had to remember how to get past each faze effectively with only two stocks made it seem like a challenge for only the most intense Smash players. I remember spending HOURS a day trying to beat Master Core/Fortress at 9.0 difficultly with Ganondorf. It was so difficult, but it felt so good when I finally did it.
@@NYCJoeBlack For me, it's because the mode focuses on the characters games and enemies to make it interesting, like how Game and Watch fights each generation of gaming or Piranha Plant fighting all the new fighters.
MoonSpirit I think melee and brawl had better classic mode routes. Mainly because while the idea of each character having their own route was cool, but if you completed it with all characters then there isn’t much replay value
I’ma just say it, I like spirits more than trophies. Yeah I get spirits aren’t as appealing to look at as trophies, but at least they actually serve a purpose. I like how spirits are used to help you out in battle, it’s able to create a bunch of wacky possibilities. With trophies all you do is collect and stare at them for a couple of minutes, not very fun to me.
Granted, while the trophies had descriptions of the characters, the spirits didn't have any descriptions whatsoever. I can get why they don't, considering they're more focused on the battle side of things, but still. Maybe we'll get character descriptions of all the spirits once the 1st DLC fighter comes out? Speaking of which, who do you think will be the next Challenger Pack fighter?
I guess it depends on how much mileage you get out of the single player stuff and if you care for having them with friends. I can't really see myself using them outside of spirits for anything really so I would've preferred trophies since they're more interesting to look at and the brief descriptions were a nice tag a long.
I’m a big Single Player man myself when it comes to Smash too &..... I don’t know, I liked Classic Mode in Smash 4 on BOTH systems. The 3DS version allowed me to make things a little bearable on higher difficulties with the multiple routes, but the WiiU version is my favourite! The Cell Games style made me feel like I’m climbing up the ranks to be worthy of facing The evil hands. Things got tougher as you continued winning, you fought a bunch of Miis as the Hands’ guard & finally you fought the Master Bosses! I admit: The Master Bosses are a bit long & with certain achievements in mind, it is a drag to win. But on pure uniqueness & coolness, I think both Smash 4’s Classic Mode are fun & creative!
I'm so happy that Ultimate has bespoke Classic Modes for each character. The older I get, the harder it is to play Smash with people in person, so the solo offerings have become more and more important to me.
Ultimate’s Classic Mode is fine as it is, plenty of “Oh yeah cause that makes sense”(NON-sarcastically) moments. I don’t think it’s the best classic mode we’ve ever gotten but I’ll still play through it just the same. I really wish they could give a short description on each of the main fighter spirits though, that was kinda lazy how they say you got it and then you just can’t do anything with it afterwards.
I too can think of a bunch of bosses for the other Characters Some notable examples that come to mind are Perfect Chaos or Death Egg Robot = Sonic DJ Octavio = Inkling Rayquaza or maybe a different Legendary = Any of the Pokemon Fighters Sephiroth = Cloud Metal Gear Rex = Snake Medusa = Pit/Dark Pit/Palutena Mother Brain (Super Metroid) = Samus/Dark Samus/Ridley Porky = Ness/Lucas M.Bison = Ryu/Ken I think they could be Interesting Bosses for Smash, But I know that there would be a lot of extra work, programing, and licensing issues. How cool would some of these be?

I can't tell you how many times I've played ultimate's classic mode and ended on a 9.8 AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE STUPID CENTURY SMASH KEN CHALLENGE! THAT THING WILL HAUNT MY NIGHTMARES
I love classic mode in Ultimate. I beat everyone's Classic mode and I plan to go back and 9.9 them all. In Wii U I could not even get through all the classic modes.
I'm one of the few people that prefers Smash solo. Partly because that's how I played it growing up - on the N64 and then Melee - but mostly because I suck at it and the CPU players make me feel like I don't suck lol
I'll join you in praising Ultimate's Classic Mode, because I agree: the themes for each character are a great touch, and it feels like a genuine effort on the development team's part. I, however, despised Brawl's Classic Mode because of how damn long it took to complete, and with 35 characters to boot! I actually preferred Smash 4's mode because, despite its randomness and the size of the cast, it was always short and sweet. That, to me, is the story of Classic Mode's evolution: having the same premise of preset fight after preset fight, but adjusting the format to acknowledge an ever-growing cast and the need for completionists to play Classic Mode with each member (and how tedious that becomes as the cast grows)
I'm really upset that Ultimate doesn't have Classic modes for Mii Fighters. I could come up with them now. Brawler- Fight characters that only use melee attacks, like Captain Falcon or Incineroar. Have the boss be Giga Bowser. Swordfighter- Fight other swordfighters, like the Links or Fire Emblem characters. Have the boss be Ganon. Gunner- Fight characters that rely on projectiles, like the Belmonts or Mega Man. Have the boss be Galleom.
Before I watched the video, I was hoping you'd talk more about Melee's Adventure Mode and I'm kinda disappointed you didn't. Structurally, Melee's Adventure Mode is basically a highly expanded version of Smash 64's Classic Mode (but without bonus stages), having preset fights, being expanded upon with some platform levels, being longer and even having some returning fights from Smash 64's Classic Mode, the giant Donkey Kong and Metal Mario fights specifically. Considering it's in a way a take on Classic Mode, I think it's worth talking about in a video like this.

I doubt youll see this comment, though theres a couple theories that the games are about Sakurai himself, the first game about him being a child, the 2nd becoming older, yet still has dreams, the 3rd where he's a adult and society is trying to have him give up his dreams and "grow up", the 4th is about how he feels things are oit of control and it is destroying himself (or something like that), master core is a sort of rage that has been built up, yet at the end, they just kind of give up, not really putting up a fight, and the 5th, well, it has something there, though its hard to decide what Now Master Hand is supposed to be about order and creation, while Crazy Hand is chaos and destruction Probably one of the better places to understand more deeply is MatPat at Game Theory, he does a much better explaining these details
The mode I will miss the most will always be the Boss Rush that Brawl had. It was an amazing mode and with the numerous bosses this game had, I was expecting a Boss Rush to be unlocked after viewing all of them. While they made the "Classic" (named Arcade in Spanish) mode probably some of the best, most creative fights, it'll always seem like there's something missing.
Ultimate's Classic modes are about 10 times better than World of Light. Also if you always go for the rest KO in Jigglypuff's Classic mode it's so satisfying.
I think its bad due to the 3DS version To me Sakurai wanted both version to have the same content so he ruined the wii u verison. The 3DS verison is good for a handled but the wii u should have had more content and better classic mode but no we had stupid Sakurai He added Daisy and Piranha plant over Waluigi
I'm glad smash ultimate doesn't have that random harder cpu just drop in classic mode. Screw that match were I had to fight both Giant Charizard and Giant metal Ganondorf in SSB4 Wii U.

MoonSpirit I think melee and brawl had better classic mode routes. Mainly because while the idea of each character having their own route was cool, but if you completed it with all characters then there isn’t much replay value
I’ma just say it, I like spirits more than trophies. Yeah I get spirits aren’t as appealing to look at as trophies, but at least they actually serve a purpose. I like how spirits are used to help you out in battle, it’s able to create a bunch of wacky possibilities. With trophies all you do is collect and stare at them for a couple of minutes, not very fun to me.
Granted, while the trophies had descriptions of the characters, the spirits didn't have any descriptions whatsoever. I can get why they don't, considering they're more focused on the battle side of things, but still. Maybe we'll get character descriptions of all the spirits once the 1st DLC fighter comes out? Speaking of which, who do you think will be the next Challenger Pack fighter?
I guess it depends on how much mileage you get out of the single player stuff and if you care for having them with friends. I can't really see myself using them outside of spirits for anything really so I would've preferred trophies since they're more interesting to look at and the brief descriptions were a nice tag a long.

I’m a big Single Player man myself when it comes to Smash too &..... I don’t know, I liked Classic Mode in Smash 4 on BOTH systems.
The 3DS version allowed me to make things a little bearable on higher difficulties with the multiple routes, but the WiiU version is my favourite! The Cell Games style made me feel like I’m climbing up the ranks to be worthy of facing The evil hands. Things got tougher as you continued winning, you fought a bunch of Miis as the Hands’ guard & finally you fought the Master Bosses!
I admit: The Master Bosses are a bit long & with certain achievements in mind, it is a drag to win. But on pure uniqueness & coolness, I think both Smash 4’s Classic Mode are fun & creative!
I like to think that the kid who is master hand just imagines that he is the all powerful boss and no one can stop him/her expect that character.
I love these Super Smash Brothers Classic Modes!

I'm so happy that Ultimate has bespoke Classic Modes for each character. The older I get, the harder it is to play Smash with people in person, so the solo offerings have become more and more important to me.

Ultimate’s Classic Mode is fine as it is, plenty of “Oh yeah cause that makes sense”(NON-sarcastically) moments. I don’t think it’s the best classic mode we’ve ever gotten but I’ll still play through it just the same.
I really wish they could give a short description on each of the main fighter spirits though, that was kinda lazy how they say you got it and then you just can’t do anything with it afterwards.
I too can think of a bunch of bosses for the other Characters
Some notable examples that come to mind are
Perfect Chaos or Death Egg Robot = Sonic
DJ Octavio = Inkling
Rayquaza or maybe a different Legendary = Any of the Pokemon Fighters
Sephiroth = Cloud
Metal Gear Rex = Snake
Medusa = Pit/Dark Pit/Palutena
Mother Brain (Super Metroid) = Samus/Dark Samus/Ridley
Porky = Ness/Lucas
M.Bison = Ryu/Ken
I think they could be Interesting Bosses for Smash, But I know that there would be a lot of extra work, programing, and licensing issues.

I love classic mode in Ultimate. I beat everyone's Classic mode and I plan to go back and 9.9 them all. In Wii U I could not even get through all the classic modes.

I'm one of the few people that prefers Smash solo. Partly because that's how I played it growing up - on the N64 and then Melee - but mostly because I suck at it and the CPU players make me feel like I don't suck lol

I'll join you in praising Ultimate's Classic Mode, because I agree: the themes for each character are a great touch, and it feels like a genuine effort on the development team's part. I, however, despised Brawl's Classic Mode because of how damn long it took to complete, and with 35 characters to boot! I actually preferred Smash 4's mode because, despite its randomness and the size of the cast, it was always short and sweet. That, to me, is the story of Classic Mode's evolution: having the same premise of preset fight after preset fight, but adjusting the format to acknowledge an ever-growing cast and the need for completionists to play Classic Mode with each member (and how tedious that becomes as the cast grows)

I'm really upset that Ultimate doesn't have Classic modes for Mii Fighters. I could come up with them now.
Brawler- Fight characters that only use melee attacks, like Captain Falcon or Incineroar. Have the boss be Giga Bowser.
Swordfighter- Fight other swordfighters, like the Links or Fire Emblem characters. Have the boss be Ganon.
Gunner- Fight characters that rely on projectiles, like the Belmonts or Mega Man. Have the boss be Galleom.

Before I watched the video, I was hoping you'd talk more about Melee's Adventure Mode and I'm kinda disappointed you didn't. Structurally, Melee's Adventure Mode is basically a highly expanded version of Smash 64's Classic Mode (but without bonus stages), having preset fights, being expanded upon with some platform levels, being longer and even having some returning fights from Smash 64's Classic Mode, the giant Donkey Kong and Metal Mario fights specifically. Considering it's in a way a take on Classic Mode, I think it's worth talking about in a video like this.

I doubt youll see this comment, though theres a couple theories that the games are about Sakurai himself, the first game about him being a child, the 2nd becoming older, yet still has dreams, the 3rd where he's a adult and society is trying to have him give up his dreams and "grow up", the 4th is about how he feels things are oit of control and it is destroying himself (or something like that), master core is a sort of rage that has been built up, yet at the end, they just kind of give up, not really putting up a fight, and the 5th, well, it has something there, though its hard to decide what
Now Master Hand is supposed to be about order and creation, while Crazy Hand is chaos and destruction

The mode I will miss the most will always be the Boss Rush that Brawl had. It was an amazing mode and with the numerous bosses this game had, I was expecting a Boss Rush to be unlocked after viewing all of them. While they made the "Classic" (named Arcade in Spanish) mode probably some of the best, most creative fights, it'll always seem like there's something missing.
But.
WHAT IF MASTER HAND AND CRAZY HAND ARE TWO DIFFERENT CHILDREN?!

Also if you always go for the rest KO in Jigglypuff's Classic mode it's so satisfying.
