Just recovered an aw130 while driving in baa atoll. Camera was at 12m .. not longer than 5 days underwater - completely flooded. It might stand the tests.. in no way as waterproof as a go pro with case. Will post pictures and video of content to try and find the owners

Hi, lovely video! I am looking for a compact waterproof that will be used primarily for video. Originally I looked at the Olympus Stylus Tough TG-4 but in your review you mentioned this has better video quality. In the compact waterproof category do you feel this is the best camera for video? Also, at 3:25 you mentioned the battery is recharged inside the camera but also mentioned a supplied power adapter. Is it possible to charge this camera directly from a microUSB cable hooked to a PC or is an additional power brick/adapter needed? I try to travel light and less power bricks to haul around are best! Thanks so much for your review, it's super helpful!
+Eric Klein Yes, you can charge it from PC, but it will probably be slow. For video I haven't tried better underwater compact camera yet.

hey bud quick dumb question. would you recommend this camera for all around use as in basic photos? I don't obsess over extreme definition. but I need camera that can handle anything that takes decently good photos. does this fit the bill? it just needs to be able to take touristy photos, and the typical abuses of travel. thanks for the help
If image quality similar to what solid smartphones produce, then this is Nikon will be a good choice.
would you say the audio quality would be great for vlogging on the go?
Yes, it should be fine for occasional vlog, but I wouldn't use it as a main camera, the sound is a bit to thin.

+Chris Nininger I would go for Nikon. Canon had weird photos, oversaturated with too much contrast, I just didin't like it.
Hello, I just bought one today. I noticed that when I shake the camera, there's a clunking/knocking noise. When I turn it on, the noise is gone. I'm assuming that this is the VR system locking the lens when turned on, then unlocking it when turned off. Is this normal? Is your model clunking/knocking as well?
+gohanrei Yes, that is VR elemnts moving. This is perfectly normal.
i love this camera but the knob on the side is sometimes very difficult to turn, to access the charge port

i understand but mine is extremely tight. mine is a store display model so i dont know if that makes a difference. i cant even turn it now.

How is this Vs. that TG-4 ? I can't decide. I heard the TG-4 is horrible in low light conditions. Is this true for both?
TG-4 is a better camera with better underwater results and RAW mode. Both are bad in low light though.
With the remote function via smartphone, is it iphone compatible, can you zoom and shoot, and what is the range? Thanks in advance...
Yes, I think you can zoom, you should search for the app in the store and see descripition.

+Karan Kumar There are no cameras in this price range that are good in low light. For vlogs in good light look at Canon Powershot N2.

For low light any entry level DSLR or mirrorless with large sensor will do.

How do you mean it? Camera just shows date and time or you need to adjust it from 0 every time? The camera should remember time, unless the battery is emty for longer period.
