Cool idea to spice things up. Painting the same model over and over again is grueling. Cool that you didn't even kitbash you just painted it. Keep up the good work 👍
Definitely will!😁 I'm glad you approve of this paintjob, it always means a lot; I've actually done a full 3-part series on these Terminators, so feel free to check them out.^^
Honestly this is a really great motivational video I've only done one shoulder pad of checker pattern with mixed results but your videos really made me wanna try some more
(Might delete and exchange this comment in a week, as I'm currently abroad) As dumb as it sounds, I'm just using brushes with a really fine tip, not really caring for any brands or other designations. Army Painter has got some really good ones in that regard tho! Imma update you, once I'm back home.😅👍
Army Painter calls his smallest brushes "Insane Detail" and "The Psycho". "Character" or "Hobby: Precious Detail" may works too. The Citadel equivalent would be any Layer brushes in the size "S" or "Artificer Layer" in the size "XS".
Yo, if you're looking for an EXCELLENT Death Guard Project, I might have something for you already: th-cam.com/video/bLVH1XvVXNg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ROATyiEt9vdyRGDg
" Are you challenging me?😈" Hah, but for real, this Terminator project was also for a guy of e-bay who sent them to me for free (which is as insane as it sounds, holy shit, I can't believe he trusted me on that) and got them back, free of charge as well. I'd just like to build a good track record on this and make videos about it.^^ So if you want, hit me up in the DMs on Insta and I'll have a look.😉 The Terminators have their own series about them, showcasing my work and explaining how it came to pass in the first place, so check that out as well, if you'd like more convincing.🤙
@brinkofart3764 Yeah, thanks but I'm wanting to do it myself, already got the paint its just I inherited this army from a friend and I dont wanna go through the pain of stripping each and every guardsmen lol
@@lokikinch Ah, good old inheritances... got "a few" models myself this way.😅 Well in that case I can only wish godspeed to you. If you already dread stripping the paint, just do like I do and leave it on!😂 Miiiight not make for the best results, but it's more of a challenge paintingwise, if you're into that. With 2,5k tho...😅😅
Funny that you say that, because I sat back for a sec and remembered that this is canonically HALF THE DEATHWING.😂 Has there been something in the rules that people are building armies like this?😅😅
@brinkofart3764 I don't see it honestly. Maybe they're hating because the checkerboard isn't perfect. But I'm pretty sure that freehanding perfect checkerboards is impossible if you don't spend several hours on it. Your freehand of the 3 swords is very unique, I like it alot. And the simplistic method you used for the wings on the swords is VERY smart. I will absolutely be stealing that. The only thing I personally dislike is how hard the transition on some of the highlights is. It seemingly goes from red to orange on the assault cannon, and from a nice shadow to a bright highlight on the right shoulderpad. This is very much my personal tastes. I personally like slow transitions and very fine razor thin edge highlights if any as ways to border specific shapes or cap off a volumetric highlight. Don't let random comments bring you down. If they had criticism they wanted to share they would've commented it and not just said "It looks bad". I hope to see more bangers out of you!
Those three swords looked like the crucifixion scene

Eyyyy, that's awesome! Thanks, I'm glad you could get some motivation out of this.^^
Godspeed to your projects!😁👌
Any specific brushes for such a small work area? Gotta be pretty fine brushes

Man that’s exactly how doss minis should look, if you get what I mean
Eyyy, I'm glad you agree with me then.^^
I have over 2500 points of Imperial Guardsmen.
I wanna repaint them but I dont think I have the strength for that lmao

One more thing: As a guard-player myself, I can definitely relate.
By the Emperor, e-bay is as much a blessing as a curse.😅

NGL looks bad but good effort
Could use some work on your freehanding
Dude, your checkboards are barely better lmao
It really looks like that on video, eh?😅
Don't give up your day job
Imma be real
Original looked much better, even with shitty checkerboard on the kneecap
I see SO MANY people commenting this?! Genuinly, could you tell me why you think that? Not trying to be combative, I am completly at a loss here.
