Hondas are actually top of the class (budget segment?) for build quality, in my eyes and feel. I've had a look at a few in the past. 2017 Civic and CR-V. Both were rock solid. Cheaper materials than a Japanese Lexus? most definitely, but at least it's a bit more solid feeling than a Ford or what not. I can also vouch for their older cars like the TSX from 2009. Thing is still solid inside. I think the only rattle that I heard was a loose speaker inside the door card, so I fixed that, and the car went back to rattle free.
The older Hondas from the 90’s had way better quality interiors, and fit n finish. That civic is pretty terrible like most new car interiors are. Too much super cheap hard plastics and creaking trim. I miss the days of that soft padded vinyl on the door panels all around that looked like real leather of the older Toyota and Honda products. Even the new Toyo and Lexus vehicles don’t feel as nice as they used too specially the 90’s and early thru mid 2000’s.
After you turn the vehicle on, you should test the blinker. Every car has a distinct blinker noise.
Wild how an abused Civic creaks and rattles less than any Mercedes.
and cheaper too
