Was looking at the ct6 platinum with the 3.6 V6 and super cruise. But it's a tough one with gm quality. Could get a Lexus or Genesis for the same money 🤑💰 I was looking at the Lincoln Continental too. But they are so behind the competition.

I have an idea. You should start checking the interior rear view mirror, maybe with the button test or something. On older and mid 2010s Hyundai/Kia/Genesis products (not sure about the newer ones) the rear view mirror feels very cheap when you move it (even on the high end Genesis) and squeaks a bit when you move it as well (makes me feel great after I just dropped 70k on a Genesis and go to adjust my rear view mirror). Just a thought as that’s a major touch point.

I have a Ford S-Max (European model only) which after 6 years and almost 200k Km is still holding good pretty well. No squeaks/rattles, no issues, just regular maintenance, it's the "Vignale" version which has good leather on the dash, doors, seats, etc. Hard plastic is on the lower side of the car though (nowadays even premium cars have hard plastics on the bottom part), but overall I'm really happy with the car, I would buy it again if they did a new model. Overall much better than the Mercedes W205 C class that I had, which was only about appearance, but very bad as fit and finish, so I had always the feeling of driving a cheap car (despite the fact it was more expensive than the S-Max)...

I’m starting to notice a pattern with the interior build quality of German cars. A hierarchy, almost. Audi is in 1st place in this category. Switches feel excellent, creaks and rattles are generally kept quiet, and material choices are good. BMW would be tied with Audi if it weren’t for the switches. Mercedes is in a distant last place. There is no reason a $50,000-$75,000 car should be built that poorly.

This would have been great in 2016 when this car was first released. While it still holds up well today, it’s beginning to show its age considerably. It doesn’t help that (correct me on this please) 2022 was the last model year for this generation RX.

I wondering if cars in Amerika, Europe expecially germany and other country have diffrent build quality. Never had a Car in germany like vw, bmw, peugot, seat and so on from family, friends which doing sounds like that. They are all solid. also drove in a jeep, hummer, tesla, opel and some other cars from friends, family, renting and so on. every car I was sitting in (not driving myself) feeled very solid.

I mean an easy fix is the strut masters. Then you have a more bumpy suspension but the car runs fine afterwards. The only real complaint I’ve heard about these, especially the 2013, is that the suspension goes out fairly frequently. But besides that it’s reliable asf. I’m about to purchase one currently! I’m in love with this damn car. It is the ultimate luxury sleeper
