    I own this. It’s a very cheap overpriced and over fee’s base car. The carpets are so thin. The paints thin, like that arm rest unlike leather will get dirty and won’t last the life of the car. No lumbar support for your back. The msrp is $25,960 but final cost is over $32,000. Lots of room inside though.

      I just bought mine for 24k out the door Certified pre owned. Tho bare bones, for that price I think it’s worth it. better than 32k at least lol

    I like the new design but they cut lots of corners. No power drivers seat, no map pockets behind the front seats, hard plastic on the top door sills, no rear armrest, no power or USB connections in the rear, and no engine temp gauge on the instrument cluster.

    Another excellent review. Your close-up photography is one of your strengths: I feel like I've actually test-driven this car (even though I never have). Showing the texture of the steering wheel, shifter, console, dash, etc. helps people warm up to the vehicle.

    for 25K this is a great value! but it's 12/2023 now, and the cheapest you can get into this model (2024) is about 27K now, and that's just way too much for a base level honda civic. Jetta SE, and Mazda3 now has the best value!

    The 1.5 turbo reliability is questionable. The gdi problems, carbon buildup, thin paint, coil pack and plug issues, oil dilution. China won’t allow them to be sold there because of the issues. Just search Honda dealership used civics, all 1.5 turbo’s with 30,000-50,000 miles. You won’t find any 2.0 non turbo’s for sale. 2.0’s are highly reliable.

    • @diehardknicksfansinceiwass2683
      @diehardknicksfansinceiwass2683 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is the 2.0 non turbo civic cvt correct ? How about the accord 2.0 turbo how’s the reliability on that

    • @eugenesotomayor545
      @eugenesotomayor545 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think any car with turbocharge can have reliability issues in the long run because it can strain the engine faster specially smaller engines like 1.5 liter compare to normal 4 cylinders,v6 or v8s w/out turbos..but sure thing it has more horsepower..

    • @garytryan
      @garytryan ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's not questionable. It's been fixed. You have no idea what you're talking about.

    • @anonymousguy6928
      @anonymousguy6928 ปีที่แล้ว

      So you’re saying all those Civics with 30,000-50,000 miles and a 1.5 engine are already broken? I don’t think so. Honda is probably the world’s best engine maker. If they say the problem is fixed now then I’d believe them. They’ve got a reputation to uphold.

    I test drove both this '22 base Civic and the base '22 Elantra with 147 hp and found the Elantra's engine a bit more peppy and quieter. I get the Civic is more better overall but for the $5000 savings over the Honda.. I have to really think about that ... spending

    Most reviews peg the 1.5T at 7.2-7.5. I respect your opinions, but am a bit skeptical the 2.0 does 0-60 in 7.5 sec. If so, that is great though.

    • @WTFCRLT1
      @WTFCRLT1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You’re right, most testers see times from high 7s to low 8s with the 2.0. I must’ve been going off the 1.5 when saying mid 7’s. Still sufficiently quick, but the 1.5t is definitely a stronger motor. Thanks for the comment!

      @@WTFCRLT1 Did you do most your testing in Sport mode? Or is acceleration similar in Normal. I don't like sport mode since it seems to engine break anytime you take your foot off the pedal.

    • @WTFCRLT1
      @WTFCRLT1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@dakkon74 ahh no I only drove the car in normal mode. It was in sport initially, but I didn’t really notice much difference when I turned it back to normal. I usually remember to test out the different modes in more detail haha thanks for pointing that out.

      So I had to trade in my 2019 golf R that a got new with the dsg.. for money saving reasons lol.. and got a brand new 2022 Honda Civic sport.. my first new Honda since my 1998 Honda prelude..that a got new .. showing my age lol.. and let me tell ya I love the new civic!!! The one and off center feel of the steering is great . Turn in is fantastic for this price.. and look reminds me of late 90s Honda’s .. very happy great car!! Not the fastest.. but great driving dynamics!

    • @dakkon74
      @dakkon74 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WTFCRLT1 My dilemma is I greatly prefer the Sonic Gray color, but the EX trim. That combo is not sold, so I am choosing between the Sport and the EX. My main issues with the Sport are the engine and the tire noise from the 18" wheels. About 90% of the reviews I have seen have called out the road noise, but all the reviews have been with the Touring or Sport. I'm guessing/hoping the EX with the 17"s are better in that regard. I am not too worried about the acceleration difference, as long as the 2.0 does not feel slow off the line.
