Great video, and well done! I just did this job on my 2008 Audi A4 B7 engine. Replaced the pump and the pressure line. You did this in 2 hours?!?! That's skills! Took me almost 2 days, mainly due to the after-market pressure line. But those 3 front pump bolts, having to go in those pulley holes took major patience as well! None of the after-market pressure lines are to spec, the only one that is the Audi part; which is almost $500 by itself. So the back banjo bolt is insanely hard to get back in! But, after just about having a mental breakdown:), I finished it up! And thanks for showing you taking apart the pump! I was wondering why it was leaking myself! Thanks again for the video!
Thanks a lot for doing this legendary video! Techs at car shops around here were acting stupid when I told em I needed this particular replacement done so I gathered I needed to do this myself and your video gave me the confidence to do it. I unhooked the close end of the coolant hose as well for extra clearance. Almost all of my bolts were stuck hard. The banjo bolt was so tightly stuck that I had to use a ratchet extension and tap the sucker loose with a hammer. Maybe some WD40 would've helped with loosening the bolts... Can't help but notice all you guys have the splash shields off on a couple of videos I watched. My hydraulic fluid drained all over the splash shield and the drain bowl I got couldn't fit properly under that damn plastic.
I like the way you tackled it from the top. Removing the alternator gives great space for taking out the power steering pump. Some guy from the UK did it through the passenger wheel well on a 1.8T engine. Anyway I’m inspired haha nice 👍🏽
dude this video gave me the confidence to order a new one and do it my self. My mechanic wants 900 bucks for this shit. I could easily do this. I have a 2002 audi a4 1.8t. My steering makes loud noises and the power steering is really weak.
Can you give me advice on removing the banjo bolt? Mine is stuck. Unfortunately the union washer (not sure if that’s the correct name) is turning but not the bolt. Any feedback would be appreciated! 🙏🏽
I can't stand those non reusable clips on Audis. They're so hard to cut off sometimes. Good technique though. I have a bad habit of not wanting to take certain things out, so if I were in your shoes I'd sit there and try and remove the pump with the alternator in even though it would end up taking more time in the long run.

The best auto DIY video I’ve ever seen. Amazing.
Thank you for taking the time to record this video. It explained the process perfectly. 👍👍👍
Great job, very well explained.
Pentosin CHF 11S is the best hydraulic fluid for Audi and Pentosin G12 pink coolant is the best , Audi calls specifically for both
Thanks for the great video ! This is something I have to take care of asap and this helps a lot !

Awesome Video 👍
Congrats to you doing it in 2 hours bc I’m on day 3 and finally got the bottom bolt back in place 😅
Thank you for your video...the power steering for this vehicle is Pentosin Hydraulic Fuild (fully synthetic)
thank you . this is so much efforts from your side
Thank you for sharing your experience
Thank you, greetings from Germany 😅
Hey brother a quick tip out there mane if you dont want to struggle with the bottom one at all just take the tire out🙌🏾
Perfect video Bro!! 💪💪👍👍
Perfect video! Thank you!!!
Good video bro.
Great video! Thanks!
Good video. FYI it's a B7. The rack and pinion will fail prematurely if it is OEM Audi If CHF 11S or genuine Audi power steering fluid isn't used.
?

Is this method similar to b8 2.0t?

dude he left u hanging hard
Hello what about the fluid or anything
Where can i get a new line that connects from the pump to the fluid container?
I usually get all my parts from rock auto or eBay.
@@flipflopmotors8837 can you make a steering fluid flush video. That may be the problem for my noises.
@@BoostBikesTeam unfortunately man I don’t have the car anymore

This is b7 not b6!
Correct!
Well youre using the wrong rad/clooant fluid
Show an A6
YOUR CAR IS AN AUDI A4 B7!
Not a B6, why would a car mechanic not know that 🤨
Wow thanks
True but everything is pretty much the same on both of these cars bud
