    Great video, and well done! I just did this job on my 2008 Audi A4 B7 engine. Replaced the pump and the pressure line. You did this in 2 hours?!?! That's skills! Took me almost 2 days, mainly due to the after-market pressure line. But those 3 front pump bolts, having to go in those pulley holes took major patience as well! None of the after-market pressure lines are to spec, the only one that is the Audi part; which is almost $500 by itself. So the back banjo bolt is insanely hard to get back in! But, after just about having a mental breakdown:), I finished it up! And thanks for showing you taking apart the pump! I was wondering why it was leaking myself! Thanks again for the video!

    I've done like 10 4.0 jeep motors, that trick does work for hanging the intake, its best practice to take a drill bit and open the dowel holes up about 1/32" so it firmly slides in to the head.

    Thanks a lot for doing this legendary video! Techs at car shops around here were acting stupid when I told em I needed this particular replacement done so I gathered I needed to do this myself and your video gave me the confidence to do it. I unhooked the close end of the coolant hose as well for extra clearance. Almost all of my bolts were stuck hard. The banjo bolt was so tightly stuck that I had to use a ratchet extension and tap the sucker loose with a hammer. Maybe some WD40 would've helped with loosening the bolts... Can't help but notice all you guys have the splash shields off on a couple of videos I watched. My hydraulic fluid drained all over the splash shield and the drain bowl I got couldn't fit properly under that damn plastic.

    Question: at the front of the engine, there is a triangular plastic piece that is down over a skinny bolt, with a , maybe, 7/16 nut on it. How do I loosen that nut, inside that plastic casing, and get the plastic piece off so I can get that bolt out of the head? Please.

  • @patriciajrs46
    @patriciajrs46 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What is the triangular plastic piece, it slides down over the bolt at the right front coner of the head? Jeep grand cherokee 04. How do I get that bolt out? I can't get the plastic piece off. Please help. Sunday, 19 May 2024.

    • @sethshadwick9713
      @sethshadwick9713 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you’re talking about the plastic that holds down the wiring harness that runs along the valve cover. It’s just a ribbed piece of plastic that sits on the threads to hold it in place and should pop off the top of the bolt with some force

    I can't stand those non reusable clips on Audis. They're so hard to cut off sometimes. Good technique though. I have a bad habit of not wanting to take certain things out, so if I were in your shoes I'd sit there and try and remove the pump with the alternator in even though it would end up taking more time in the long run.
