I’ve owned the 856 for years and love it more every day. It’s just one of those watches you can put on a forget about being confident it can handle anything you can throw at it
Hey guys. Just wanted to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed the conversation. Each of you mentioned that you’d consider getting the model the other has. As someone that may pull the trigger on one, are you both happy with the choices you made (UTC and non-UTC)? I’m leaning towards non but I do live many time zones from home and it might be nice to know the time there. That said, the clean dial is a reward unto itself. Thoughts?
Just bought the 856utc black tegimented! Previously owned the 856utc and sold it, (sellers remorse) came full circle and just bought the black tegimented version.
I feel that the 856A is a technologically improved version of the 1016 Rolex Explorer...the 400 bucks you would have paid in the 1970’s roughly equates to what you spend on an 856 today. Both were/are genuine tool watches; the current model Explorer, while no doubt rugged, has priced itself out of the tool watch category IMHO.
I have collection of exactly one watch, which an 856A - seems utterly bombproof and keeps correct time. The metal bracelet is too showy for me so I just got their rubber strap. Never take off ever and there’s not a single ding in it
Mine just died a second time in 3 years. Back to Sinn with their terrible customer service (months to service, additional 50e charge for shipping back within the EU, etc). If anyone is interested, it is up for sale as soon a it gets back with box, papers, etc.
I watched your video in its entirety and haven't heard a word about lume of this pilot watch. Lume, supposed to be excellent in the pilot watches. But is it?
Breaking down indeed... My 2012 watch, even though service, died in 2021. It went in to Sinn for full ervice and came back over 2 months later. Now, just 3 years on, it is dead again. This never ever ha'penny to any of my other watches. Heck, I even have watches from the 60's that just work. No more Sinn for me. This one is going back for another repair and will be sold immediately upon confirming all is well upon its return. I would strongly recommend going Damasko or even Dekla (in 6steel) instead.

I have seen an 856A and tried one on. I don't (yet) own one but I would have to say it seems like the best all-around watch on the market.
Awesome discussion, guys. Had to catch it on replay.
Thanks Amin!!!

Also, would either of you go for a 43mm 836?
All 856 cases ase signed by SUG?
I guess everybody has the same issue with hating the snowflake and Lego hands then falling hard for both 😆

It would be better if the guest guy could go two minutes without name-dropping Rolex, in a conversation about Sinn tool watches.
