Thanks for doing this video! Indeed, this sadly confirms every single point of concern I had about this new clasp. It’s a shame and unfortunate that Sinn didn’t put more attention in the development of this new clasp :/
@@jfra4 I have no problem with removing the watch to adjust it ps your not thinking of the awful ones that are fitted the Doxa and San martin are you ?
Thanks, this was very helpful. I particularly appreciated your comments on the thickness of the new clasp, which I hadn't fully taken into account. I have very slim wrists and for now, I shall stick to the original clasp on my 556i RS.
Totally agree with your assessment. I tried it back in Feb with a 103 St Ty Hd and new clasp looks more premium (looks milled not stsmped) but felt chunkier and digs more into under wrist. I would still get one someday but just the clasp.
Picked up a Sinn 104 last week brand new in Italy for a nice price; the only “compromise “ was that it had the old clasp but after seeing this I’m happy I have the old one. The h-link brace is excellent.
Funny how people in the comments LOVE to complain about everything. There was nothing wrong with previous clasp, solid and functional. Sinn finally gives them what they wanted in sleek design and now is tOo LonG and tOo tHICk Jeez, new and old clasp are great. Just be happy that you have options.
The previous clasp is not usable for me because I can't get a good fit. The bracelet is either too tight or too lose. If I remove a link and set the clasp to the longest adjustment, too tight. If I add a link and set the clasp adjustment to the tightest adjustment, too loose. This quick adjust would fix that. Looking forward to upgrade my watches.
I bought a 104 right after this was announced, and have been wearing it pretty much daily since, and the size/height hasn't even been a concern to me. Looks a bit awkward when showing it in the camera, but once you got it on wrist, it's just like any other clasp, in my opinion. The on the fly adjustment has been super useful and very much appreciated, and fortunately I don't have to extend it out to the point that you can see, that it's just an extension piece.
Lucky guy because I have many Sinn models I'm used to how light and comfortable the old clasp feel Ive been wearing one for over 15 years and this new one just doesn't feel as good I find
Hmm. There are so many better clasp designs out there. Not withstanding patents etc., I would think such good engineers as Sinn could do better for less money. If cheap Chinese micro brands can do it…? Anyway, fair and comprehensive review as always.
I'm amazed they went with this one but the problem is everyone wants a clasp like Rolex but with out paying for it, Christopher Ward as I remember have a good system which doesn't cost the earth, this one feels like a half way house
Patents are the issue, it’s the current issue Grand Seiko are having trying to do everything in-house. I’ve seen the GS prototype similar to the IWC one but the patent is owned by a different Swiss company that produces the clasps for IWC, Lange , Glassutte and probably many others. Another issue is exclusive licenses or minimum order quantities. The fact is people wore hollow end link and stamped clasp bracelets fine until recently. Heck even non dive watch Rolex only have 3 divets and just an easy link. I wear my GS bracelet so comfortably it’s just a tiny bit loose but a little bit of activity and then my wrist expands so it fits beautifully. Same with my bb58 and Rolex OP. I’ve never ever seen someone take off their watch and adjust it 10 times a day. If you have to do that then better not wear a watch because watch wearing has suddenly become a chore.
@@hammalamiri12 I'm one of the few who like's the old clasp as its slim and light, My OP39 doesn't have the easy link but I never find myself having to adjust it but saying that I do like the easylink its simple and all you ever really need , I'm not so much of a fan of the clasp GS have as I don't like the big gap between it and the bracelet,
Was looking forward to this video. Thanks! The only bad part about my 556 is the cheap feeling clasp. I think the new clasp will look out of place on a watch like 556 because of how bulky it is. It doesn't help that it didn't bring massive improvements either. In the US, they are asking for 510 dollars plus tax for these bracelets which I think is eye wateringly expensive. I think it is more than what Longines charge for their bracelets.
I know Damasko charge around 700 euros for their bracelet and that doesn't have any micro adjustment just links but it is made in Germany and not outsourced
@@ClickSpringReview Yes, I forgot about that. I guess I am a little confused about why brands charge so much for bracelets in general. Hanhart does make a decent bracelet which costs a bit less but it does not have any quick adjust. Edit - nvm, I just realized that old Sinn bracelets are still available and the price is not actually bad compared to others. My bad.
Many thanks for showcasing this new clasp. Agree with you 100% at 5:52 Seems that could have been executed a bit better. Not a deal breaker but definitely noticed it as well. Have been looking at a Sinn UX with the new bracelet, but thinking I'll just wait for one of the fully tegimented ones to come back in stock (those limited runs go FAST though!). Can't say I've ever wished I had quick adjust on my GS, but that's not to say quick adjust is not useful or anything. :)
Thanks for your insight into the new clasp. Let's say my enthusiasm for it has diminished greatly. Idk?... Logic would suggest I should upgrade to this if I am buying a new Sinn.. always less expensive to get the bracelet option you want with the watch than to get it afterwards. It has the functionality most people want. However, in retrospect, I'll say I never had too much of an issue with the old clasp. It worked and I usually find a happy median for my wrist size when sizing a bracelet that does not have quick micro-adjust. On the old clasp, I could do without the useless (to me)!dive extension if it'll make the clasp even sleeker.
I never had any problems with the old clasp either it was slim and small and very comfortable on the wrist but everyone wanted on the fly micro adjustment without buying a lot of money for it and so ...
I appreciate the review. I have my 556ib on the old h link bracelet, and when the stars align, it fits me perfectly. But when my wrist swells up during the day, it gets too tight. So the on the fly adjustment would be welcome, but not at almost half the price at the watch itself. Also, you raise an issue I’ve had with the extension on my SMP300. When extended, it doesn’t look right, but I’ve gotten used to it.
I really appreciate an on the fly adjustment mechanism. I think this looks good Thanks for doing a feature on this And to put things in perspective Blancpain has a new ceramic bracelet for their ceramic bathyscaphe models. It costs £7000 So this ain’t so bad
I have the old clasp on my 104 and it’s just fine. On the fly is the thing; but my CW Sealander’s clasp with its micro adjust is genuine dollar for dollar perfection. That said all of my 5 digit Rolex’s have Steel Reef micro extension links and they are all I ever need.
I'm completely the same the old clasp is spot on, it's light and slim. I'm going to contact Steel Reef as I wouldn't mind some for my 5 digit models also 👍🏻
I got my first Sinn, the 556i RS because of your channel. What do you recommend next between 104, EZM3F, and U50. (For looks, as hardened steel is not necessary for me)
👍🏻 The 104 is a great all rounded and being polished looks more expensive than it is , The EZM3F is a classy old school Sinn were as the U50 is the new kid on the block but still has classic Sinn DNA following on from the U1. You cant go wrong which ever one you pick but I'd say the 104 as it looks great on a H-link Fine Link or even a leather strap. PS hope that helps lol
@@ClickSpringReview helps a lot! I will go with the 104. What is your preferred dial color? Im between the black and the white. You have handled both and can advise better 😁
I got the new clasp a month ago and I really like it. It looks way sharper, it feels much more substantial, and the micro adjustment is exceptionally useful. 100% worth the money.
I’ve Lusted after the brushed version of this clasp since I seen it had been released, was waiting on a good review and Barry didn’t disappoint , I’ve felt the bracelet clasp didn’t have the same quality as the silicone clasp, however I see that this version has no dive extension! A bit disappointed not sure if I’ll bother, thx again for the review Barry
@@ClickSpringReview The newer version of the clasp for the rubber is also minus the dive extension. Why are they going this route. Was always function before form..
I take your point Barry, it depends on the type of the dive/ size of wetsuit I have dived with my UX over a wetsuit with the bracelet and the extension worked fine. It’s understandable that maybe 1% of people who buy a dive watch will actually dive with it, but the watch is designed for diving so I feel Sinn should still offer clasps with Dive extensions for those of us that wish to do so. That’s only my 2 cents😂 keep the cool vids coming
Good for Sinn for recognizing the need for one of these. I'm not a huge bracelet guy anyway, but it is absolutely a deal-breaker for me not to have some sort of on-the-fly adjustment. My thoughts on this one... too thick to be of any use for desk-diving. Also agree completely on the fact that it looks like an extension system when it is extended. It comes off cheap and utilitarian. Seiko does an amazing job with the titanium Prospex watches. I've owned that clasp and it is thin, with a discreet and very usable adjustment (on wrist, no less). That said, their GS divers have the ugliest clasp ever dreamt up. I think in general the entire industry has a LONG way to go to get this right. Until then, I will stick with high-quality rubber and various leathers. More fun anyway!
I agree with what you say about GS their bracelets and clasps are very disappointing which I said that once in a review and was banned from reviewing they after that oops
@@ClickSpringReview Oh wow! Maybe instead of censoring a widely acknowledged fact, GS would better spend their efforts engineering a superior clasp. Maybe I will end up in their bad books now! 😂
@@ClickSpringReview Hard to disagree, the option is there and options are (usually) good. It’s just not very Sinn or something with regard to execution of the design…and I’m aware of how silly that sounds 🫣😂
I’m not a Sinn owner but from both a practicality and an aesthetic perspective both clasps look surprisingly underwhelming to me. Especially considering Sinn’s prices.
@@ClickSpringReviewthank you, appreciate the help. Planning to get a 556 direct from their site and just puzzled what to order to get the micro adjust clasp. Even wondering and hoping ordering the 556I on bracelet, it will already come with the micro adjust clasp on that bracelet
Honestly I still prefer the old clasp and especially on the 556 as its more comfortable and compact, PS did you see my leather with the 556 on the custom leather straps designed for the older silicone clasps
Hi again Barry, no doubt you're getting excited about the new 156.1 and 156.1 E models. Will we get a review/enthusiastic description soon? Please? LG Bob 🍻
I personally like the new clasp, its no way too thick not sure what everyone crying about. I went to Frankfurt just to get the clasp (i live 45 min away with S1 train) and its been just great!
It used to take me about 3 hours to get there when lived in back in the Father Land . Did you ever go to the old factory it was so different to what they have now
It may be bulky, but I'll buy it as I struggle to get a perfect fit with the current option. The other, and more practical thing Sinn could have is include a few half-links. Baffling why they don't do that as standard.
The new clasp does look slicker and well made. If Sinn had the new clasp from the beginning, there would be no issues to complain about. With change, some people will prefer the old style since they have worn the old style for so long. It is great to have choices.
Choice is always good but having the two side by side I still prefer the old one, its just so slim and light in fact after making the video I removed the clasp and its not been on a watch since
Lots of complaining here, but I’ve worn the new clasp on U1, U50, and EZM3. It absolutely works well and I find it comfortable. I’ve seen comments about it not being made by Sinn, but have yet to see proof of that statement. Sinn will have Tegimented versions for sale around summer 2025. It seems watch people are some of the biggest complainers. If you don’t want the clasp, don’t buy it. Problem solved.
It's quite sad to see Sinn not being able to pull off a brilliant design on these clasps like so many other brands. It needn't be this thick, and it needn't be this long, the extension needn't protrude and needn't be rigid. I still love my Sinn watch but I won't be waiting for the tegimented, bead blasted variant for this clasp. The gold standard for micro-adjustable clasps remains to be with the IWC Mark XVIII - for me.
It's not 1.5 mm longer, It's way more. The extension is not a bracelet extension but a clasp extension because it's not articulated. The measurement should consider the clasp extended and not closed. It's a poor design. And unbelievably expensive for what it is.
@ClickSpringReview How long it is completely extended? If there's no intention to use the extension, yes it is 1.5 mm longer. If you use the extension it is more than that. In all my clasps with microadjustment on the fly, despite If it's extended or not, the length of the clasp remains the same. This is not true for the Sinn clasp.
The old clasp needed much attention, so it’s good to see the changes. Now if they can only get Selitta to fix the all too common helicopter rotor issue with their movements.
I've never seen this happen to any of my Sinn's myself but the helicopter problem is when the two reverses loose their lubrication this can happen on both ETA and Selitta models, To prevent this from happening keep hand winding down to a minimum, some brands even state this in the manual.
The parts of the milled clasp that actually touch your skin underneath your wrist are still sharp. They have 90° angles. I don't understand why watch companies can't round those edges off. Wise watches does round them off. Omega clasps actually absorb the entire part of the milled clasp up into the clasp shroud so that again you don't have sharp edges, 90° edges of the milled clasp digging into your skin.
@@ClickSpringReview I obviously have not handled it in person, but was making my remarks based on the visual that I saw of the milled part of the clasp that touches the bottom of the wrist. It looks to have 90° angles. Hopefully I can handle one in person and see for myself. I have just run across many clasps that have that problem.
Hi, i need your help! I bought a brand new 356 sa from Sinn on friday via shipping and i was shocked because after i unboxed it and put it on my wrist only after 6 hours of wearing it itwas already +35 secounds ahead, after 24h it was almost 2 mins!! I'm thinking of the one I had some years back it had only about 3 maybe 4 clicks to it but at no point did the bracelet extend pass the clasp which has a much better look to it
I am one who likes the old clasp and would only give it up for an on the go adjustment if it were the same size or thinner so deffo a no go for me. I wouldn't even go for it if it were cheaper than the old clasp let alone pay almost double for it, oh.. and that bar that sticks out is disappointing to me.
1. The color does not match ( I have the U2 non Teg , beedblast) 2. It is too thick ( I have cheap microbrands with better designed extensions) 3. The clasp buttons and extensions feel very "microbrand" import ? My wrist tends to change size during the day so I will live with it. I used to not wear the watch since it was either too loose or tight.
I do love StrapCodes bracelets think I've 3 or 4 them but even they don't have there own true on the fly micro adjustment clasp They use a generic one which feels loose in comparison to the Sinn and both aren't great
It's always easy to criticise and us watch nerds are a picky lot, that being said...I don't think this quite hits the mark for this amazing German brand.
I imagine the reason for the heft of the new clasp is due to the fact that Sinn designed it to be compatible with the existing bracelets 🤷🏻♂️ Surely they ran into limitations due to that goal of compatibility. $150 increase for the clasp seems steep.
Honestly I’ve never had an issue with standard bracelets on ANY watch I’ve owned! Yeah sure on the fly adjustment is handy but definitely does not influence my buying decision. Toughen up princesses.🤣🤭
Funny enough I’m wearing my 356 acrylic with the adjustable clasp😁 To me, this clasp is my favorite I’ve tried so far. I didn’t have a problem with how the original clasp worked but I could never get a proper fit. It was either too loose or too tight. With the adjustable clasp, the fit is perfect and it properly balances out the weight of the 356. The design screams Sinn. Everything about it is just so solid and fits with zero rattling. For those saying it’s too big or it’s not great…you haven’t tried it!! It feels no bigger than the original clasp and the mechanism is just awesome!
Yeah, Sinn dropped the ball on this. This is not something I expected from them. A universal clasp from aliexpress has the same ratchet mechanism, with access from the sides as a bonus, and is way slimmer. Also it costs £20... On a Sinn clasp I would expext the bracelet links to go in and out of the clasp, not an additional flat piece of metal like on the aliexpress one. It works, but it's not amazing
What makes me laugh is that most watch enthusiasts these days want a sub 41mm, no quirky design, no helium escape valve, micro adjust bracelet, tapered bracelet, enough water resistance, ceramic bezel, 5 year warranty, neutral colour, enough water resistance, 70hr power reserve, in house movement and for the watch to hold some value. Basically everyone wants a modern Rolex submariner type watch. A few years back small clasps, thin or thick bracelets a range of sizes / designs / colours / quirkiness is what made watches unique. When the brands listen and therefore have to retool / redesign / redistribute people complain about the price increases.
I've been saying this on WUS for a few months now, everyone wanted this clasp but when I would asked how much are you willing to pay for it Nothing it should be included 🤦🏻♂️
Sinn will need to pay more attention to detail , paying £150 extra for a very average clasp is not good value. I’m looking at my San Martin watch which has a very slim clasp with a good adjustable bracelet which cost £190 for the whole watch. I know German engineering is dearer but they just don’t seem to have thought about the design.
Can't help myself thinking this looks like an ordinary diver extension you find on 500 dollar Citizen bracelets, like the one on the Fujitsubo. And it looks so chunky. Sinn fans, myself included, have cried for an updated clasp for years, but somehow this isn't worth it for me. They are 250 Euro separately, around 400 with the updated bracelet here in Germany.
The bracelet is the same as the old one in the US I believe the clasp costs around $200 Ive seen the Citizen and have to say the Sinn one is better as it feels more solid when the extension is out

@@ClickSpringReview yes, but it has only 3 slots and the bracelet has no half -links, I sold my first 104, because I didn’t get a fit. The finelink is surprisingly easier to adjust because it comes with 7,5mm half-links and if you order additional ones they are 8,5mm. The new clasp is the minimum you can do, when it comes to on-the-fly adjustments.
I Love Sinn Watches, but this long awaited new clasp is seriously disappointing. Honestly it’s like a half ass effort to thick to long the bracelet doesn’t run into the clasp. That extension piece is cheap and ugly, I have seen £400 - £500 micro brand watches with far better set ups. Thoroughly disappointed and just all round poor. Sinn you could and should do far better!……
Looks like a miss to me. With the extension all the way open, that clasp is way too long. Finally, the f-cking price. In the US, the Sinn quick adjust bracelet is $540 and the clasp is $280. If Traska can offer a quick adjust clasp for $50, Sinn can come up with something for less than $125.
Remember your not just getting the clasp but the bracelet also, Damasko bracelet in comparison is 770 euros and has No micro adjustment in anyway its links only
I sold my 856 UTC for the lack of on the fly adjustment. This new clasp is absolute trash, just like the old, especially for the money. If you’re the bracelet kind go Omega, Tudor or best clasp ever, IWC.
The old bracelet and new bracelet are both total rubbish as long as changing out and reattaching the bracelet is such an impossible task without completely burning your nerves and spoiling the lugs with scratches. I'm surprized this isn't complained about more. Basically makes the bracelet worthless if you can't change it out every now and then.
Completely disagree you could say the same with every bracelet which has spring bars , personally I wear my watches I don't baby them if your worried about scratching the under side of the lug which nobody ever see's and can be removed easily, get yourself a Bergeon 7825 Spring Bar Tool we use them at work
@@ClickSpringReview The scratches aren't even the main problem. It's the fact that it takes multiple fails and frustrations and mostly I just give up trying to change out the bracelet because it's so frustrating. I don't have experience with similar bracelets on others watches so I can't speak for them, but I know for a fact that Sinn's bracelet is worthless to me. I would love to hear how you change out and reattach your Sinn bracelet without the process annoying you? Hundreds of dollars in spring bar tools is not an adequate answer in my opinion when there are much better design solutions like with Christopher Ward's bracelets.
I've just timed myself and with removing the silicon strap which was already on it and fitting a H-link it took about 3 mins, it took so long because one side didn't go in in straight away, How I do it is have the case upside down place the end link over the lugs, place one end of the bar into the end link which allows the to drop down and the then push the other side in, all the time pressing down with thumb on the end link. If your still have difficulty try another spring bar or even use a 19mm bar
I don't care about a micro adjust bracelet, it's totally useless. My wrists don't get bigger or smaller during the day. I size it, wear it and I'm good to go. A solution for a problem that doesn't actually exist.
I contacted the company a few months back and asked if I could buy a sample of ten clasps and they said the minimum ordered is 50 and of course they would be unsigned

My bad.
@@vemanavijaygopal8037 I do need to get hold of a Hanhart to review at some point
@@ClickSpringReview Please do if you can. I would love to see your take on them

I have the UX myself and never felt the need for it myself but is always nice to have if done well, but unfortunately well costs money I guess
If they would sell the clasp on its own it wouldn't be so bad as you would only be paying around £160 ish
@@ClickSpringReviewI’d buy that!
I really appreciate an on the fly adjustment mechanism. I think this looks good
Thanks for doing a feature on this
And to put things in perspective
Blancpain has a new ceramic bracelet for their ceramic bathyscaphe models. It costs £7000
So this ain’t so bad
I know I once got myself a AP bracelet new and that was very painful 😖
Happy to pay more for quick adjust
Thats fair enough John 👍🏻
@@soultandpepper If you all ready have a few black dials go white 👍🏻 but just to mess you up a bit the blue dial on a fine link looks sooooooo good 😁
@@ClickSpringReview thank you so much. , noted. 😁
Let me know how you get on
I got the new clasp a month ago and I really like it. It looks way sharper, it feels much more substantial, and the micro adjustment is exceptionally useful. 100% worth the money.
excellent glad your enjoying it sir 👍🏻
I’ve Lusted after the brushed version of this clasp since I seen it had been released, was waiting on a good review and Barry didn’t disappoint ,
I’ve felt the bracelet clasp didn’t have the same quality as the silicone clasp, however I see that this version has no dive extension! A bit disappointed not sure if I’ll bother, thx again for the review Barry
Thanks Steve I was hoping for a little bit more than what we got here
@@ClickSpringReview The newer version of the clasp for the rubber is also minus the dive extension. Why are they going this route. Was always function before form..
@Hectorsdad who is a regular commenter and a scuba diver tells me he has yet to come across a dive link extension which actually works
Fair comment well made Steve ps there maybe a new Sinn review coming out tomorrow 🤫
San Martin is starting to look like the best watch brand in the world...
I wouldn't say that 🙃
Not really, and they need to change their logo like CW did. It looks like it was designed by a 5 year old.
@@porschephile2k3 You mean the SM logo
@@ClickSpringReview yes, it looks like an afterthought. The new CW logo looks great.
The CW logo does look good 👍🏻
Good for Sinn for recognizing the need for one of these.
Great analysis as usual. Not seeing a massive amount of value for the price expected personally but others may differ…
I do like that now there is an option stick with the old one or buy £150 more and have the on the fly adjustment
@@ClickSpringReview Hard to disagree, the option is there and options are (usually) good. It’s just not very Sinn or something with regard to execution of the design…and I’m aware of how silly that sounds 🫣😂
No I do understand what your saying, I think Sinn just make great watches clasps so so
I’m not a Sinn owner but from both a practicality and an aesthetic perspective both clasps look surprisingly underwhelming to me. Especially considering Sinn’s prices.
I really like the old clasp its slim and really comfortable on the wrist amd no at least you have the option of the two
i have the new clasp for the rubber straps. it quite a bit different the way it works.
I reviewed that one a few years back Matt th-cam.com/video/t6PO0Bz60CU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=c7M6R66yoTwoVMgq
I like it. I love a heavy duty band with easy adjustability. I’m hard on my watches and this would be good for me.
The H-Link is a solid bracelet and very hard to fault
Hi Barry. Is there a micro adjust bracelet for the 556?
The clasp also fits the 556 H-link bracelet or any of them to be fair Sir
@@ClickSpringReviewthank you, appreciate the help. Planning to get a 556 direct from their site and just puzzled what to order to get the micro adjust clasp. Even wondering and hoping ordering the 556I on bracelet, it will already come with the micro adjust clasp on that bracelet

Fingers crossed they do you great I was lucky enough to see them a just over a week ago and personally like the one with the red chrono hands
Thanks for this video, Barry - greetings from #sinncity Frankfurt!
Thanks Guys 👍🏻
I personally like the new clasp, its no way too thick not sure what everyone crying about. I went to Frankfurt just to get the clasp (i live 45 min away with S1 train) and its been just great!
It used to take me about 3 hours to get there when lived in back in the Father Land . Did you ever go to the old factory it was so different to what they have now
It may be bulky, but I'll buy it as I struggle to get a perfect fit with the current option. The other, and more practical thing Sinn could have is include a few half-links. Baffling why they don't do that as standard.
I've always been lucky when it comes to sizing but understand where your coming from
The new clasp does look slicker and well made.
I may have a new option for the Sinn bracelet going in soon, ps I do know the company they buy it from
How about on the U50 and co?

Informative update, thanks. I tend to be a strap wearer, so will just leave this one.
That makes things a lot easier 😁👍🏻
It's quite sad to see Sinn not being able to pull off a brilliant design on these clasps like so many other brands. It needn't be this thick, and it needn't be this long, the extension needn't protrude and needn't be rigid.
I still love my Sinn watch but I won't be waiting for the tegimented, bead blasted variant for this clasp.
The gold standard for micro-adjustable clasps remains to be with the IWC Mark XVIII - for me.
For me its either Rolex or Tudor there clasps are amazing but cost a lot of money
how do you know that a price rise is coming? how sure is that?
I believe its happen in the US already and I'd heard it was going to happen here as well but hasn't happen yet so maybe we'll be ok
@@ClickSpringReview if there was a price increase in the US, that comes from the retailer because in the EU sinn has not changed anything.
yes I believe thats the case
It's not 1.5 mm longer, It's way more. The extension is not a bracelet extension but a clasp extension because it's not articulated. The measurement should consider the clasp extended and not closed.
It's a poor design. And unbelievably expensive for what it is.
Under that line of thinking, shouldn’t the standard clasp have its extension pulled out as well before overall length measurement ?
@@shannonspence4183 no, because that extension is flexible, it has the articulation.
Been waiting for your take on these. As always thank you for the work.
Yep its only 1.5mm longer Sir
@ClickSpringReview How long it is completely extended? If there's no intention to use the extension, yes it is 1.5 mm longer. If you use the extension it is more than that.
In all my clasps with microadjustment on the fly, despite If it's extended or not, the length of the clasp remains the same. This is not true for the Sinn clasp.
good video and good to see the difference.
Yeah its good to have the option 👍🏻
Thanks for the great video.
Anytime Sir glad you liked it
The old clasp needed much attention, so it’s good to see the changes. Now if they can only get Selitta to fix the all too common helicopter rotor issue with their movements.
I've never seen this happen to any of my Sinn's myself but the helicopter problem is when the two reverses loose their lubrication this can happen on both ETA and Selitta models,
To prevent this from happening keep hand winding down to a minimum, some brands even state this in the manual.
I can honestly say there are no sharp edges on the clasp including the under side at all Sir
Yeah I know what you mean as the new Butterfly clasp which I really like does have a sharp edge on the topside but this one is very smooth

Longer, thicker (therefore more uncomfortable as you highlighted) and more expensive, AND another price hike coming for the brand? Not impressed
If they would just sell the clasp on its own that would be much better
They do sell the clasps separately. So you can swap only the clasp on old Sinns. I had a look at one and decided to stay with the old clasp.
Really I couldn't find any are you thinking of the clasps for the silicone straps Matt
I believe Sinn support offers the possibility to buy one upon request
Really I didn't know that as its not on there website
It’s long and the new CW is the same. are they made by the same people?
CW have a better system in that the clasp doesn't extend just the bracelet
@@ClickSpringReview i’ve not really got hands on with the new Christopher Ward. My understanding is the new watch has a new system.
I'm thinking of the one I had some years back it had only about 3 maybe 4 clicks to it but at no point did the bracelet extend pass the clasp which has a much better look to it
Seems like they don't have a tegimented version to match the U1. Unfortunate.
The price in the US is $210 for just the clasp and $510 on a bracelet.
Over where they don’t offer it in it’s own which is a shame not even on there website

Really interesting, thanks!
I didn't find any videos really going into detail about this one and well thats my thing I guess Phil
I'm the same the old clasp is thin and light this new one isn't
1. The color does not match ( I have the U2 non Teg , beedblast)
2. It is too thick ( I have cheap microbrands with better designed extensions)
3. The clasp buttons and extensions feel very "microbrand" import ?
My wrist tends to change size during the day so I will live with it. I used to not wear the watch since it was either too loose or tight.
I hope to have something coming soon which is a better option than this
You can't beat Strapcode bracelets for quality and price.
Major manufacturers are taking the pee on costs.
I do love StrapCodes bracelets think I've 3 or 4 them but even they don't have there own true on the fly micro adjustment clasp They use a generic one which feels loose in comparison to the Sinn and both aren't great
It's always easy to criticise and us watch nerds are a picky lot, that being said...I don't think this quite hits the mark for this amazing German brand.
unfortunately no it doesn't
It’s such a shame you can’t configure the watch with the new clasp before you buy it. isn’t it?
Honestly for me nope as I wouldn't choose it myself as I'm not so keen on it Sir
I imagine the reason for the heft of the new clasp is due to the fact that Sinn designed it to be compatible with the existing bracelets 🤷🏻♂️ Surely they ran into limitations due to that goal of compatibility. $150 increase for the clasp seems steep.
I wouldn't of minded paying much more if it was a really good clasp but this seem like a half way house
Hmm, pretty thick.. Glad I only have a Sinn 6068B with a really awesome butterfly clasp which you can close from both sides😅
That makes life easier lol
Honestly I’ve never had an issue with standard bracelets on ANY watch I’ve owned! Yeah sure on the fly adjustment is handy but definitely does not influence my buying decision. Toughen up princesses.🤣🤭
I'm a fan of the old one but everyone wanted this so what can you say
Thank you
Glad it was helpful 👍🏻
Firstly the 356 very nice 👍🏻 and glad to hear you getting on with it Sir
Yeah, Sinn dropped the ball on this. This is not something I expected from them. A universal clasp from aliexpress has the same ratchet mechanism, with access from the sides as a bonus, and is way slimmer. Also it costs £20... On a Sinn clasp I would expext the bracelet links to go in and out of the clasp, not an additional flat piece of metal like on the aliexpress one. It works, but it's not amazing
I do love my Sinn's but this one is so so , But at least people have the option now
What makes me laugh is that most watch enthusiasts these days want a sub 41mm, no quirky design, no helium escape valve, micro adjust bracelet, tapered bracelet, enough water resistance, ceramic bezel, 5 year warranty, neutral colour, enough water resistance, 70hr power reserve, in house movement and for the watch to hold some value.
I bought the new Clasp and sold it after 2 weeks…
It was almost 10grams more weight, felt too thick and simply not comfortable…
I'm feeling the same way Mario
Sinn will need to pay more attention to detail , paying £150 extra for a very average clasp is not good value. I’m looking at my San Martin watch which has a very slim clasp with a good adjustable bracelet which cost £190 for the whole watch. I know German engineering is dearer but they just don’t seem to have thought about the design.
I have San Martin clasp as its the same one StapCode use and to be fair it feels a lot looser than the Sinn one so I would give it that
At the end of the day it's just a clasp. I've no complaints with my existing ones.
Completely agree with you 👍🏻
Can't help myself thinking this looks like an ordinary diver extension you find on 500 dollar Citizen bracelets, like the one on the Fujitsubo. And it looks so chunky. Sinn fans, myself included, have cried for an updated clasp for years, but somehow this isn't worth it for me. They are 250 Euro separately, around 400 with the updated bracelet here in Germany.
The bracelet is the same as the old one in the US I believe the clasp costs around $200 Ive seen the Citizen and have to say the Sinn one is better as it feels more solid when the extension is out
Cool.

Jimminy I’ll stick with my $40 San Martin on the fly clasp.

I like the fine link also but many do not because of the lack of adjustment other than the half links
I personally love the old clasp, bracelet wise Rolex are still the best but a new bracelet and clasp costs around 1,5/2k
Ok then which model is it you have ?
@@ClickSpringReview Sinn 556 I with a H-Link bracelet.
