I have a theory: Gaster is the knight. Why? Because the man behind the tree (probably Gaster) gives you the Egg. Now, if you translate "egg" to windings you get one hand pointing right and two hands pointing up. Which chest piece moves like that? The knight.
There's a little detail that actually implies HUGE things. The giant door being the closet-to-classroom door is something I realized was most likely the case too, but I also noticed something. When Ralsei closes it, you can't open it back up. In the lightworld... that door is locked. There's no way for Kris or Susie to close that door themselves, neither has the key, and they couldn't have crossed it from the closet if it was locked from beforehand. Specially not since the main closet entrance is already locked when you check it once leaving the classroom. I think it's pretty clear, the darkworld ALSO influences the lightworld in a very literal, physical way.
In that case maybe Kris and Susie travelling to the dark world requires Ralsei to open the door from his side. In that case Ralsei himself is responsible for bringing them through, which is why he is instantly certain that they are the heroes and joins up with them no questions asked. This also asks questions about how much Ralsei knows about both worlds.
To me Kris seems like a lifeless doll to. That the player is controlling him. That is why he doesn't react to Ralsei taking his hat off, getting fixed by the hammer, susie eating chalk, getting slammed into the locker, etc. The only few times he breaks this act is when Susie is about to be defeated he shields her, when he takes a few steps back from the closet in fear, when he bows to the king to help Lancer. In fear of the player taking anything from him, so he keeps his side of the room dull. When the leave the dark world, Kris has a object that he loves, if you press toss it will say *You really don't want to toss it, toss it anyway? or something like that. If you press yes it will say Kris is bitter. If you press no, Kris will be relieved.
Perhaps that is why kris tosses away the soul away into a cage, so you can’t control them anymore. Or maybe it’s something different, idk we just have to wait for chapter 2.
Just a previous thought I had, I thought that the "Queen" mentioned by Jevil would be Toriel finding Kris playing in the classroom, and "hell's roar bubbling from the depths" meant her trying to stop Kris from playing. Edit: This aged well *sobs*
You made me realize something. The end of deltarune clearly shows kris pulling a knife. Maybe nothing happens, but maybe the queen stops kris from playing, and sans becomes their dad, or something, scolding Kris for something they've done. After all, he tells "kids like you should be burning in hell". Hmm....
In doing research, I have actually found some more Tarot information with the main 4 heroes and how they can respresent the Minor Arcana Knight Tarots. Lancer is obviously the Knight of Swords, considering in Standard form he's the Jack of Spades. The Knight of Swords represents a determined and ambitious being, not willing to stop at any costs, which perfectly represents the fact that until the heroes make him reconsider his actions, Lancer is brash and hasty enough to only focus on capturing the lightners over anything else more significant and would result in a better outcome. Kris would be the Knight of Pentacles, as he is the one who is in charge of the group and tries to plan out the groups actions, which represents the Knight of Pentacles' careful planning perfectly. While we are at it, we can also discuss the Reversed Knight of Pentacles, which represents being bored of your surrounds and stuck to one spot, which represents Kris's overworld nature of being a prankster out of boredom and isolating himself from others. Ralsei is the Knight of Cups, representing his goals of trying to fight as little as possible, which in the form of the Knight of Cups, represents the charming and romantic nature of the Knight. However, when reversed, it reveals the downside of unrealistic expectations, which represents why Ralsei screwed up when he healed the King: He was unrealistic in believing the King could be talked out of his actions. Finally, Susie is the Knight of Wands, who in the dark world, represents the Upright Knight, which in turn represents an inspired, goal driven, and impulsive being, which perfectly represents Susie through-out the game, with her on her own constantly attacking (Impulsiveness), and being driven to get home no matter what. However, when reversed, the card represents hasty, yet delayed actions, usually resulting in frusturation, representing Susie's bully status in the Overworld.
u know... a reversed knight of swords actually resembles sans...being full of energy and motivation, but can't seem to act/releases pent energy. "If you are leading others, this can be very confusing and frustrating for all involved." and "You are growing in restlessness and frustration because you want to take action, but for whatever reason, you are being held back. Perhaps the timing isn’t right, you don’t have enough resources, or you’re relying on someone else who isn’t ready." are from a tarot site on a reversed knight of swords. This explains sans careful nature and why he is frustrated in the genocide route. Speaking of the genocide route, "The reversed Knight of Swords can also suggest that you need to slow down; otherwise, you are at risk of serious burn-out and exhaustion."
Remember, the player and Kris are two separate characters. Proven by Kris ripping you out of their body at the end of chapter 1. So, all dialogue options come from the player, not Kris. Thus, tipping Undyne about the Dark World makes sense because Kris might not think it's real, but you the player do!
FOOLISH! It was actually me, Sly Marbo! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
After reading this comment yesterday I haven't been able to stop thinking about it... So you might see something similar soon! Thanks for the suggestion!
I came up with a theory regarding gaster and the mysterious doorframes, I think gaster is the creator of the doors you see in the dark world. In entry number seventeen gaster mentions something about negative photon levels, along with the phrase darker yet darker, this entire piece of dialogue always seemed strange to me, because you never get to see what gaster was actually talking about, however when Susie opens the closet door in deltarune it is so dark the surrounding light immediately seems to go away, that sounds allot like what gaster was describing in entry seventeen. If the two really are connected, than it means gaster was experimenting with interdimensional travel. It could also explain what happened to gaster, one day while he was testing the doors, something went wrong and he wasn't placed in any dimension, and was scattered across tome and space like the gaster followers explain to you in undertale. It's a bit reaching in some places, but I think it ties allot of loose ends together
Interesting, That could make sense with a few other details about Gaster as well. The only way to meet him in person is through a door that isn't supposed to exist. Maybe one of his dimensional doors? Doors can also be used as a form of fast travel within Deltarune, cutting the screen to black when you walk through.
Plus, the Gaster followers say that Gaster fell into his creation. After the darkness in the closet grows and you try to leave, *you fall deeper into the darkness*
This is also how the door to Sans' room works in Undertale. If you try to go through it, you'll walk through a black void before appearing in Sans' room.
For real, this channel is one of the only ones with consistent quality and care put into every video. Other channels feel shallow with really loose/stretched connections *cough* Underlab *cough*
I actually noticed that too, and the only clock that's outside is in the diner, and it's the same with Alphys' class clock at the ending, which didn't move since the start of the class. And Susie did mention the sun is setting, but the clock showed 2.30pm ish. Weird..
I agree with Swanky. I think the guy that gave Kris the egg is Gaster. Why? 1.he was a scientist and wanted to experiment duplication of items from a dark world that duplicates in the real world . 2. His head is the shape of an egg. I think Gaster is the Knight. But I also doubt that.
@Sammy Lawrence2 He could be the knight- But, Seam (Shawm) talked a bout 'a strange knight' (written in red) but when he talked about Jevil who might've met someone the 'someone' isn't in red. So if gaster was Jevil's crazy trigger he isn't the knight.
Scr!pxys It could be because Gaster hadn't presented himself as the knight back then, and also it's probably because sheam didn't know who the strange someone Jevil met was.
3:59 I can relate XD when me and my brother were little, we used to play pretend and fight stuffed animals or invisible enemies while putting a keyboard on to play music in the background.
This theory surprisingly holds up in the wake of Chapter 2, all of the enemies in Cyber World are computer based since Cyber World was in the library's computer lab, except the Knight theory, since we now know that the Knight may be a Lightner.
Yup! With the Knight theory, I definitely think that it may be Kris, as Queen describes the action of the Knight creating the fountain and Kris doing just that. It looked like Kris made a new fountain. Secondly, Queen states that Knights have will and determination and states that it is a trait that all lightners possess. An interesting theory would be the player is trying to stop Kris, or the character in which we control, from creating more fountains.
With Ralsei being a prince without subjects… What if he’s the prince of the “Queen” Jevil mentioned? Also, Ralsei says the lightners would seal the “Dark Fountains” PLURAL. We’re only told of two existing fountains, and we’re not allowed access to the other one IN RALSEI’S CASTLE. He stops us. Does Ralsei really wear a hood and hat because he’s shy… Or because he doesn’t want anyone recognizing him? 👀 Lancer’s Dad says during his fight something about not wanting to fail “the Knight” who opened the Dark Fountains PLURAL AGAIN. But we’re only ever told of TWO fountains… Which would mean that, unless there are fountains we don’t know about, the Knight opened the fountain in Ralsei’s castle. My theory: Ralsei is on the same side as the Queen and her Knight, Lancer’s Dad’s Fountain was set up as a decoy to get rid of the heroes and foil the prophecy, and the “Prince from the Dark” in said prophecy is LANCER instead of Ralsei. (I also believe that either Gaster or Ralsei is probably the Knight, and that Seam got hurt trying to protect Jevil.)
Ralsei could be on the "bad" side. He haf already been in the dark world for quite a while, far more than the lightners. By the way we saw the two fountains of dark in Ralsei's legend and told the story of lightner and darkner world balance shifting. I don't know what I wanted to prove, but whatever
Oooh...if there is 2 fountain, that explain why things got "darker, yet darker". Maybe Asriel and Gaster are buddies. Gaster toid Asriel to open the 2nd one. Or maybe... Gaster saw Asriel open the second one! Here is the explaination for entry 17. The moment asriel did it Gaster saw it or felt it. Things going negative, dark growing etc darker yet darker because there is 2 fountain now. So maybe he wanted to move to Deltarune to experiment. But he got spit between timelines instead.
I was reading on wiki about Knight cards in tarot decks and looking at jevils dialogue when you beat him and I found someone on wiki that said "in non-tarot decks, the Knight card was dropped in favor of the Queen card" and then jevil said "the knights hand is drifting closer, soon the Queen returns" so idk if this is linked or not
What you said about the Dark World being manipulated by a player/'knight' in the abandoned classroom reminded me of movies I loved to watch as a kid, namely Sharkboy and Lavagirl and Bridge to Terabithia. Both are about lonely kids creating a fantasy world and characters as an escape from the real world that eventually journey into the worlds they created. Now that you've said that, this story just *screams* Terabithia to me. Well, among other things, but the whole 'fictional world made real' definitely makes me think of that. So whoever the creator of the world is, I feel like they were probably a lonely, possibly bullied kid. A kid who could be similar to a certain protagonist we all know... (Side note: When I was a kid, I had a copy of Max's dream journal from Sharkboy and Lavagirl that I took with me everywhere and used so much that eventually the pages started to fall out and it got either lost or thrown away. What a sad day that was.)
I find it interesting that when you come out of the Dark World, you are greeted with a black screen, Susie complaining about you bumping into her (she tells you to 'watch it'), and then the lights turn on... The lights turn on. The fountain of darkness is the light switch, and when the lights turn on, you and Susie are standing right next to it like when you leave the dark world. Though it seems like it should be obvious, I don't think alot of people think about the fact the maybe the Dark World is quite literally formed by the dark, that if you were to turn the lights off, and everything went pitch black like in the unused classroom, you would enter the dark world. I know it seems so simple and obvious, but out of all theory videos I've watched so far, I haven't seen any of them mention that simple and almost obvious fact. I didn't think about it until recently actually.
Our round red ruler shall come forward soon, shining the light of the gods and casting away the shadows in our heats. The spiritual successor of the Great Mettaton EXE shall bring us freedom by promoting self care and bowing with the passion of a thousand fires lodged inside of the giant ball of plasma in the sky at the centre of our world's rotation we call the sun. Praise our lord and saviour, and may he protect us from floating top hat wearing doritos from the illuminati.
I like the idea that the pieces in the classroom can be rearranged later on. It would make for a really cool plotline - as you progress through each chapter the pieces in the classroom change every time you go there to represent different 'regions' of the dark world. It would further emphasize this idea of alternate timelines and universes within the lore - all the same characters/pieces are rearranged and placed in different scenes to create different stories.
One thing I noticed, at the start when you are making your vessel you accept "Pain" as a thing, meaning when Kris removes their soul from their chest and throw it in the cage and show us a knife it might point out the fact that our vessel is replacing Kris, as we accepted the "Pain". This is weak but it could be something.
Gaster could be the Knight because Jevil/Seam (I rly don't remember :P) says the Knights hand is moving forward. this could be a clever card/deck pun, but Gaster speaks Wingdings, *the language of hands*
About Kris reporting the events to Officer Undyne, an argument could be made that this is simply another case of the player supplanting Kris as the decision-maker of the game, which happens multiple times in the overworld. You can tell Sans that it's nice to see him again and he will acknowledge that he's never met Kris, but breaks the 4th wall with a wink telling to the player that indeed he knows us. While the meta-commentary of Deltarune about the influence the player has over the game and their place in the story is different from the one in Undertale (because in Deltarune everything is kind of... rearranged, to an extent, it's a dark mirror reflection of Undertale in a lot of ways), it's clear that once the game starts, Kris is no longer the one in control, YOU are. Which should put the very end of the game into some perspective.
My guess is that Noelle will become the Queen of Clubs. Why? Look at her horns. Also it seems like she might have a rough home life, which might drive her toward the Dark World to escape
Gamingtmans I suppose I should clarify- her parents are nice, but her dad is really sick and the mother seems to be stuck at work at the time (assuming she’s the mayor). If her dad gets sicker or dies, that might be stressful enough for her to flee to the Dark World.
The jevil being outside of the world rather than being trapped in it makes sense with his battle background. It looks like a dimensional rift (Maybe between the surface and the dark world) and this leads me to believe that the story is actually true rather than just a game. It seems to me like the jevil is trapped outside the two worlds. Also, the whole thing is supposed to be Alice in wonderland-esque.
It’s interesting to note the connections to black magic. Seam is a ragged old doll similar to those used to make voodoo dolls and both seam and jevil being tarot cards, the magician and the fool. Some of jevils weirdness is also interesting considering that tarot cards are said by some to be able to tell the future by literally communing with heavenly spirits. A tie back to Spamton from chapter two who several times references rising to the heavens above.
This report to Undyne is completely breaking MatPat`s theory about "everything is a DnD-like game"... Because, think about it. If the Dark World is something precious to Kris, why would they report about it to Undyne? To make her go there and ruin everything? Sounds illogical.
There is a plausible way. All the suggested topics to mention when talking to characters come from you, the player, not from KRIS. The SOUL is our pointer device after all and we control it up to the very end in that cage. This also can be seen at least 1 other time, when we go and talk to Sans. If you open up with the ''Eyyy Sans! Good to see you again!'' line. He never met KRIS before, which makes sense as a shy character *edit, +it is mentioned they moved in recently*. He tells him straight away, while sliding the familiar wink to us, body language that Sans know we're there and we just straight up told him.
Wh- no. Kris isn’t the knight because first off, he’s a lightener. The king would’ve known if Kris was the Knight. Just because kris has red eyes and the text is red doesn’t mean he is the knight
I swear I was about to comment "this is theory is cooked" until I realize that this vid came out before chapter 2 did. working with the info he had. respect.
I'm not someone that research or knows allot but its just my theory: Asriel got somehow into the dark world with a memory lost. So he gave himself the name ralsei As a lighter he can interact with the real or outer world as well ,how? As when he closes the door at the beginning part. The door gets locked and same with the closet door. And surely Susie wouldn't have locked it, nor Kris And about gaster door. He is in the void and trying to get out, he travels to another dimension creating different timelines and maybe his interactions messes those timelines connecting undertale to deltarune _somehow_ As chara had died in undertale she/he's soul tries finding a 'vessel' for it to consume Maybe the vessel you create at the beginning is discarded as chara wants to show that you aren't in the one control At the ending chara is just giving a warning that your actions won't stop her from doing what she wants ..... But idk what I said. *its just a random theory*
if you've played Mario and Luigi Dream Team, you would know that Luigi sleeps on a pillow, and he enters the Dream World with Mario to unlock the Dream Stones and then enter out of the Dream. I think you can put the same concept to here. Also, in Mario and Luigi Dream Team, dependent where Luigi sleeps, the area changes, like if he slept in a forest, he would be in a Dreamy Forest. Since Kris and Susie sleep in the closet room for some strange unknown reason, (which is what happened when they even decided to open the closet) the dream was based on all the things around them, and the same thing happens to Luigi. Also, enemies that are in the dream world in Mario and Luigi Dream Team are much stronger, and so are Mario and Luigi. And so are Susie and Kris, and in the Dark World, some simple board pieces and some other things become Chess Pieces, Ruddins, Jevil, etc. Lastly, Ralsei appears in the actual game, when there isn't really anything in the closet (I think.) that there is in order to make Ralsei a real thing. Ralsei could be considered Dreambert, but that was only because Susie and Kris knew about their classmate Noelle, and Kris (or the player) maybe thought Noelle could be a love interest to Kris, and later in the story, it is revealed that Ralsei is a goat person, like Asriel, Toriel, and Asgore. Or, Ralsei could be Kris's brother Asriel in this, maybe because things are different in Deltarune. toby could've been thinking the dream world in M&LDT, and added that concept which started the dark world and all of it.
I find it interesting that Kris stepped into the classroom after Suzie, and with Ralsei. By that time, Suzie didn't really find interesting the story told by Ralsei so she run to the classroom. Maybe Kris remembered playing with Asriel in the closet/classroom so he called him for finding the door to this world.
Technically, his point is, the fountain connects to items in the corresponding room. The items becoming part of the Dark World's landscape or residents. Once the fountain get sealed, the items are as they were left before the fountain opened. But any items taken to the original Dark World (where ralsei resides) all the items are back to the goons of king and king himself. If you go into the room that is effected by an alternate fountain, you'd be dragged into a dark world, with the residents and landscape revolving around what's around or near the fountain.
i think that gaster was the person that did mystery mystery wow magic to the closet he’s kinda like the “proxy layer” between the dark and the normal world i think that there are unlimited copies of gaster, because in the deltarune universe, the monsters were never trapped, so gaster most likely didn’t do anything that scattered him across space and time, but instead, he’s either normal, nonexistent, or not known about think about it, when you call someone in the dark world, you hear undertale gaster somehow, deltarune and undertale gaster are communicating and it could also be that the reason how they’re communicating is through something about the deltarune? but that’s a completely different theory of mines.
this is super interesting to me because i thought the pieces/players/room worked the other way round, that they are in the classroom because they are part of the dark world, not that they are part of the dark world because they are in the classroom. also, in cartomancy the red and black jokers are used similarly to the magician & fool in tarot, and are even referred to by those names -- so seam & jevil could absolutely come from a normal deck. what gets me is if seam is the red joker, why is he a stuffed animal in the classroom? did he transform somehow? if so that points to the dark world influencing the classroom rather than the other way around, because if someone got rid of the red joker seam would just disappear i would think. and if seam isn't supposed to be the second joker -- which i think he definitely is given the fool/magician thing and seam even referring to himself as a magician -- there's another joker floating around somewhere. (the red joker is also sometimes called the juggler, idk if thats anything.) what also intrigues me is where are the queens/the rest of the jacks? why is clover & the king the only clubs we see, and lancer & spades the only spades? why only red suits as footsoldiers?
i came from the future with news (and spoilers) the knight is a character named Golden Berdly and it's only revealed in chapter 8, he is not a new form of Berdley he actually is his creation who rebeled against original Berdley after being separated from his lover (who was actually the Queen) and humiliated, also the anoying dog is revealed to be toby fox.
1. Theres only supposed to be 7 chapters? 2. Annoying Dog is Toby Fox as proven by Toby Fox after Undertale. The character was a self-insert of himself into the game.
One note on the Knight being a Jack, while also ranking higher than the King: in the game Euchre, one suit per round is trump, and the highest-value cards are the Jack of that suit and the Jack of the same-colored suit (called the right and left bauer, respectively). I'm not sure if this has any relevance to Deltarune or to Toby Fox at all, but it's not completely out of line for card games.
I do have a question though... Why does K.Round use Stars as his attacks? Why do Ponmen use Diamonds as their attacks? Why does the Bird Thing use Stars as their attack as well? I mean, I could see K.Round and the Bird Thing using Stars because they aren't Cards, but why do Ponmen--chess pieces--use Diamonds?
@@ismetcancelik5052 Because like in real chess, ponamn aren't used to defeat the enemy- only to intimitade them, wich explains that they are only shooting alot of things without really aiming.
You know like there were other kings before Lancer's dad came? The other kings probobly had game card symbols as thier herbs or something. Every king has his subjects, is seems like the ponman were under the herb of diamond. That's why they use diamonds.
It was funny, I had a random thought that this was some alternate world then I found your videos. But actually something I thought about that, while probably completely wrong, I thought was interesting. What if what were seeing here involves a timeline where Chara got control of Frisk's body. Perhaps after the ending, he isn't satisfied, and with the power of determination goes back, only he lets Frisk keep control. Frisk however is trying to find an answer a way to fix things, he wants to 'save' Asriel. Somehow some way he finds an answer, but in doing so he essentially trades places with Chara. Having gone back in time beyond Frisk's appearance, to when Chara fell into the world, Chara now being the body, and Frisk 'possessing' him. Chara now having a second chance at life, and infused with Frisk's determination. But things aren't perfect, it seems that Frisk has the power to control or at least influence Chara. So through some plot line, the monsters leave the underground, Asriel, and Kris are brothers, and Chara is getting his life. However Chara remembers everything from the other timeline, so he didn't make the same mistakes. He still has control, and so at the end of Deltarune, we are seeing him rip Frisk's soul from inside and throws it in the cage, so he can go do what he wanted to do all along. Hiding Frisks soul inside of himself during the day and trapping him at night. Anyway if anyone reads, sorry I can ramble a bit and I hope it was entertaining!
Perhaps the structure of the dark world can be influenced by moving around things in the school's closet due to some sort of bending of the laws of physics caused by the appearance of another fountain?
it makes even more sense for shaum and jevil to be tarot cards, considering tarot is also used in divination, aka "reading the past, present, and future" and they both seem to know alot more than the players and other characters in the series.
i have an idea on how kris and susie got into the dark world, so i think that when there is an imbalance of light or dark, a portal will open in one of the worlds, in this case a portal opened on the light side due to an imbalance of dark, and when the imbalance is fixed, it will send the people from the other world back to were they came from, but they come back relative to were they were in the dark world
I have a theory:
Gaster is the knight. Why? Because the man behind the tree (probably Gaster) gives you the Egg. Now, if you translate "egg" to windings you get one hand pointing right and two hands pointing up. Which chest piece moves like that? The knight.
300IQ
Oh my god, you might actually be right.
Holy shit
Actual pog, attenion to detail and the huge amount of theory crafting in this franchise always seems to baffle me yet again and again.
You are a heck lot smarter than us...
Man I really, really hope that the Dark World exists. But It still seems like a game made by Kris, to connect with Suzie.
Kris could easily have a key since his mom is a teacher at the school and he seems to have played in that room many times before.
Seeing the city spoiler from chapter 2 I’m assuming that’s the town
To me Kris seems like a lifeless doll to. That the player is controlling him. That is why he doesn't react to Ralsei taking his hat off, getting fixed by the hammer, susie eating chalk, getting slammed into the locker, etc. The only few times he breaks this act is when Susie is about to be defeated he shields her, when he takes a few steps back from the closet in fear, when he bows to the king to help Lancer. In fear of the player taking anything from him, so he keeps his side of the room dull. When the leave the dark world, Kris has a object that he loves, if you press toss it will say
*You really don't want to toss it, toss it anyway?
or something like that. If you press yes it will say Kris is bitter. If you press no, Kris will be relieved.
Perhaps that is why kris tosses away the soul away into a cage, so you can’t control them anymore. Or maybe it’s something different, idk we just have to wait for chapter 2.
Awww now I feel bad for kris :(
I’m kinda hoping that’s not true, because I would feel pretty guilty about playing, and I can’t think of why they would want us to feel guilty
but what abouy the ending when he reaps you out of control?
This aged well. It's amazing with more details in Chapter 2 , your theory was correct
Hmm....
@@tornadix99 I actually initially thought that Kris pulling the knife meant that Chapter 2 starts out with Toriel dead.
Toriel had fire powers, hell has a lot of fire. That almost makes sense
Pfft that would be funny
OwO but then she brings you home to find azzy or distracts kris from the game to make azzy-knight join the party!!!
Bagels
Maybe...............kris is dead........
However, when reversed, the card represents hasty, yet delayed actions, usually resulting in frusturation, representing Susie's bully status in the Overworld.
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.?
I don't get it ;-;
@@ab-wj8yg Yeah, but I'm going with Character interperitations, not physical attributes
u know... a reversed knight of swords actually resembles sans...being full of energy and motivation, but can't seem to act/releases pent energy. "If you are leading others, this can be very confusing and frustrating for all involved." and "You are growing in restlessness and frustration because you want to take action, but for whatever reason, you are being held back. Makes a lot of sense
Remember, the player and Kris are two separate characters. Proven by Kris ripping you out of their body at the end of chapter 1.
So, all dialogue options come from the player, not Kris. Thus, tipping Undyne about the Dark World makes sense because Kris might not think it's real, but you the player do!

@@SwankyBox Meh it's just *Undertale meets Toy Story = Deltarune*

@Sammy Lawrence2
He could be the knight-
But, Seam (Shawm) talked a bout 'a strange knight' (written in red) but when he talked about Jevil who might've met someone the 'someone' isn't in red. So if gaster was Jevil's crazy trigger he isn't the knight.
3. Wing dings of the word "egg" is one hand pointing right and two hands pointing up, isn't that how a knight moves?
Scr!pxys
It could be because Gaster hadn't presented himself as the knight back then, and also it's probably because sheam didn't know who the strange someone Jevil met was.

Lancer’s Dad says during his fight something about not wanting to fail “the Knight” who opened the Dark Fountains PLURAL AGAIN.
Lyla Heart he takes his hat off at the end
Ralsei could be on the "bad" side. He haf already been in the dark world for quite a while, far more than the lightners. By the way we saw the two fountains of dark in Ralsei's legend and told the story of lightner and darkner world balance shifting.
I don't know what I wanted to prove, but whatever
I think that chara is the dark knight for no reason, and I feel like they are
Oooh...if there is 2 fountain, that explain why things got "darker, yet darker".

I love both of the movies
Lancer is a Jack. His full name is Dark Jack Lancer, we find this out when Susie teams up with him and they do that Team Rocket meme.
Kris is The Knight after Deltarune Chapter 2 now The Knight was actually a villain.

It honestly amazes me that Chaos King was made from a simple design class drawing
Well, undertale is a "self aware" game, so it would make sense that deltarune is about "self aware" non computer games.

Exactly
Her parents seem really nice tho.
Ralsei was awaiting for us, his name is an anagram for asriel. Was asriel inside the closet before us?
I think so
*Hopes and Dreams INTENSIFIES
It’s interesting to note the connections to black magic. Seam is a ragged old doll similar to those used to make voodoo dolls and both seam and jevil being tarot cards, the magician and the fool. Some of jevils weirdness is also interesting considering that tarot cards are said by some to be able to tell the future by literally communing with heavenly spirits. A tie back to Spamton from chapter two who several times references rising to the heavens above.
Btw you can use the jevil key in another way at the overworld

Red Jevil (Revil) is the King Chess, ruling over it all from the shadows
This report to Undyne is completely breaking MatPat`s theory about "everything is a DnD-like game"...
Because, think about it. If the Dark World is something precious to Kris, why would they report about it to Undyne? To make her go there and ruin everything? Sounds illogical.
It's not mat's theory it's Swanky's
@@dgamelion3478 yeah, I know! I just watched Mat's theory recently and now, after Swanky, I'm just thinking about it.

I swear I was about to comment "this is theory is cooked" until I realize that this vid came out before chapter 2 did. working with the info he had. respect.
I'm not someone that research or knows allot but its just my theory:
Asriel got somehow into the dark world with a memory lost. So he gave himself the name ralsei
As a lighter he can interact with the real or outer world as well ,how? As when he closes the door at the beginning part. The door gets locked and same with the closet door. And surely Susie wouldn't have locked it, nor Kris
And about gaster door. He is in the void and trying to get out, he travels to another dimension creating different timelines and maybe his interactions messes those timelines connecting undertale to deltarune _somehow_
As chara had died in undertale she/he's soul tries finding a 'vessel' for it to consume
Maybe the vessel you create at the beginning is discarded as chara wants to show that you aren't in the one control
At the ending chara is just giving a warning that your actions won't stop her from doing what she wants
.....
But idk what I said.
*its just a random theory*
So lancer used to have the mouth king has on his stomach?
if you've played Mario and Luigi Dream Team, you would know that Luigi sleeps on a pillow, and he enters the Dream World with Mario to unlock the Dream Stones and then enter out of the Dream.

Not to mention Lancer calls himself "Dark Jack Lancer" as well!
3:21 this part made my day

Technically, his point is, the fountain connects to items in the corresponding room. The items becoming part of the Dark World's landscape or residents. Once the fountain get sealed, the items are as they were left before the fountain opened. But any items taken to the original Dark World (where ralsei resides) all the items are back to the goons of king and king himself. If you go into the room that is effected by an alternate fountain, you'd be dragged into a dark world, with the residents and landscape revolving around what's around or near the fountain.
In the "bad guy's intro" thing, Lancer clearly states he is a Jack.

i think that gaster was the person that did mystery mystery wow magic to the closet
he’s kinda like the “proxy layer” between the dark and the normal world
i think that there are unlimited copies of gaster, because in the deltarune universe, the monsters were never trapped, so gaster most likely didn’t do anything that scattered him across space and time, but instead, he’s either normal, nonexistent, or not known about
think about it,
when you call someone in the dark world, you hear undertale gaster
somehow, deltarune and undertale gaster are communicating
and it could also be that the reason how they’re communicating is through something about the deltarune?
but that’s a completely different theory of mines.
Everyone else : I have a theory !!
Me: why did you make our poor lancer creepy in the thumbnail…
this is super interesting to me because i thought the pieces/players/room worked the other way round, that they are in the classroom because they are part of the dark world, not that they are part of the dark world because they are in the classroom. also, in cartomancy the red and black jokers are used similarly to the magician & fool in tarot, and are even referred to by those names -- so seam & jevil could absolutely come from a normal deck. what gets me is if seam is the red joker, why is he a stuffed animal in the classroom? did he transform somehow? if so that points to the dark world influencing the classroom rather than the other way around, because if someone got rid of the red joker seam would just disappear i would think. and if seam isn't supposed to be the second joker -- which i think he definitely is given the fool/magician thing and seam even referring to himself as a magician -- there's another joker floating around somewhere. (the red joker is also sometimes called the juggler, idk if thats anything.) what also intrigues me is where are the queens/the rest of the jacks? why is clover & the king the only clubs we see, and lancer & spades the only spades? why only red suits as footsoldiers?
i came from the future with news (and spoilers)
the knight is a character named Golden Berdly and it's only revealed in chapter 8, he is not a new form of Berdley he actually is his creation who rebeled against original Berdley after being separated from his lover (who was actually the Queen) and humiliated, also the anoying dog is revealed to be toby fox.
1. Theres only supposed to be 7 chapters? 2. Annoying Dog is Toby Fox as proven by Toby Fox after Undertale. The character was a self-insert of himself into the game.
If the knight controls everything, then they would be the actual players of the game, wouldn't they?
*They use diamonds

@@Master-sb1hqDamn you right-

The whole world of Deltarune is a hallucination caused by Ralsei's fear toxin
Perhaps the structure of the dark world can be influenced by moving around things in the school's closet due to some sort of bending of the laws of physics caused by the appearance of another fountain?
To me, the dark world is gaster seeing whats there and working with it to try and create a trap.
What's the song at 6:20???
it makes even more sense for shaum and jevil to be tarot cards, considering tarot is also used in divination, aka "reading the past, present, and future" and they both seem to know alot more than the players and other characters in the series.
i have an idea on how kris and susie got into the dark world, so i think that when there is an imbalance of light or dark, a portal will open in one of the worlds, in this case a portal opened on the light side due to an imbalance of dark, and when the imbalance is fixed, it will send the people from the other world back to were they came from, but they come back relative to were they were in the dark world
