We simply wanted to get home. But what if our trek through the Delta Rune Dark World was misleading? What if the King wasn't the TRUE villain? I should have explained my thoughts better because they're definitely not 100% clear judging by the comments. I don't think the King is "good-hearted" and they've definitely done bad things. However, because we don't actually know the results of our actions, and due to the King's fight dialogue having to have some backing (unless he was lied to), then whatever does take place in the conclusion must be bad for their people, right? It's possible everyone else also just doesn't know. It could be argued either way though.
So I do agree: The King is bad. But if your victory wipes out the world and casts Darkners back into obscurity, that's also bad... Maybe even worse? Especially if his reason for wanting to kill you in the first place is because in the past you were tormentors - someone who conflicts physical or mental suffering. You may befriend people along the way and change how they feel about you, but your end goal is still the same. That victory could very well be bad for the Darkners.
Then again, we still have that mysterious Knight as well...
Don't forget the Queen, Jevil mentioned! Or the fact that Ralsei may not even be a Darkerner, let alone the Prince of the Dark! So many theories, and so much time until the next release!

Please read this whole comment. Please stop assuming that Gaster is Mysteryman. The Tarot card is fanmade and is not based in the game's lore. The mysteryman is Shyren's Sister. Here's Why: We know from the post that Toby Fox made about Shyren that SHyren's head and the rest of her are 2 different entities. We see an Amalgamate that looks like Agent, who is the lower half of Shyren, but we never see any amalgamate who looks like Shyren (the head). Also, the FUN value required for Mysteryman is 66, with Shyren's HP having the same value. This is why Gaster is the redacted sprite, Who is PROVEN to speak in Wingdings. Toby Fox made that post to try to get people off of the idea that Gaster is Mysteryman. Please do a theory on this.

While I'm not the biggest Undertale superfan, what I think I love most about these games, is that out of the mind of ONE dude, he was able to create such a deep and lore filled world. It's honestly incredible. I love getting wrapped up in all these theories, even if they end up being debunked lol

I feel like he's good-willed in intentions but definitely corrupted in how he pursues his goals. He wants to save his people from being completely thrown into obscurity again, an overrun of darkness. But the other kings most likely didn't agree or thought he was being irrational so he overthrew them.
Like a "I'm doing this for your own good." type of situation. I genuinely believe that in his eyes he's a hero, and he isn't just saying it because he has a large ego but it is truly out of pride and dedication to protecting his people.

Yea in Pacifst the darkners overthrown the king and made Lancer the king
i recently realized a theory about what ralsei could be, its a bit simple but it makes the most sense to me.
Ralsei is Asriels Halloween costume, the one that is mentioned on Toriels computer when going into the other Classroom (the one that is of 1st grade..i think, can’t remember what grade it is)
just like the darkeners are toys left by lightners (the monsters[and/or possibly humans] that played with them), Ralsei might be Asriel’s old witch/wizard custom kept in the supply closet, possibly by toriel.
someone also mentioned to me how, when defeated, ralsei turns into just clothes, which adds to the theory that ralsei is actually just a costume in the “real” world.
So Ralsei would technically be Asriel in a sort of sense

Seems like Don't Forget might be a message to Gaster from a peer or one of his followers.
Or... Sans? Remember, in his secret lab, Sans had a blueprint and a picture with the words "don't forget"
Gaster broke into time and space, but this proves Sans isn't a part of Gaster, which is a theory I've heard.

I mean also Toby stated in one of the public stretch goal announcements and I quote: "The "other" game... I can't tell you anything about it. Its very nature is shrouded in darkness. Ha ha ha." I think it's more just throw out the hints to the other game in kinda a cool way.
Sans might not be a part of Gaster, but he's probably associated with him.

If the prophesy is true, then the new geiser will destroy the world. Besides, every hero is the bad guy to the antagonist, but considering what might happen, we are clearly in the right here
The King is definitely evil and not a hero (not even in the eyes of his people unlike the video wrongfully says) so I'd say Ralsei is probably telling the truth. Why would he wait all his life just to tell a lie?

turns out two years later its more complicated than we thought it was going to be.
I have nooooo idea if someone has covered this or not but. Why? Oh why does no one mention what Seam says? If you ask them about the history, they explain how the darkeners world was perfectly fine until a knight showed up. The knight apperently changed everything as they locked up the other 3 kings (as there were 4 kings ruling over the darkener world) and let the king we fight in the end in charge. Maybe it was a knight that is a darkener and that's why the king doesn't like lighteners? Or maybe the knight is a lightener of sorts that decided to start this "legend". But yeah. The reason I do believe what Seam says as they seemed to have been around for a long while, even saying how they were the one to lock Jevil away and consider themselves old. Please! If someone's done a theory or a think about this, tell me? I'd love to know 😊

In my opinion sans in deltarune is clearly the same as in undertale

And hes also the only character to look exactly the same in both games

Jorgenmeister Main channel All of that sounds right. My only concern is that sans’ winking eye (and therefore his glowing eye) is swapped in Deltarune. It could mean nothing, or it could mean everything. In the case where the two characters are different despite the identical outfits, perhaps Undertale!sans met with Deltarune!sans somehow?
MelodyCreations I agree with you except for when you say that Chara got rid of the soul to stop us from doing good, I would say Chara did it so we couldn’t do another genocide run.
If you talk about that, How about this 'Knight' were done divide and conquer thingy between Lightner and Darkner? No matter if they are from lightner or darkner. Darkner knight turned the king of darkner against the lightner while lightner knight were provoking lightners to hate darkners but they are cooperate each other to create chaos behind them? What if the knight is 'human' just like kris? As we know human can be a lightner or darkner, they are in neutral faction. Oooh so many theories in my head.
So are we going to ignore this ‘knight’ which is mentioned?

Yeah I noticed that NO ONE not even on Reddit wants to talk about the *mysterious knight* that came in and caused everything, as well as putting Lancers dad into power.
NO ONE WANTS TO TALK ABOUT IT. Are people just ignoring it on purpose or did they JUST FORGET.
There's less info on the Knight than there is on GASTER at this point, so there's really not much to discuss
Jevil also warns them of a "Queen" in a different route so there's two characters we have to deal with.

i'd have to disagree with your whole belief of kris being in any way related to frisk and chara, even toby seems to be pushing hints that deltarune and undertale are unrelated.

The actual worlds can be unrelated, and the characters lives can be completely different - but once you have characters who've dabbled in timeline-hopping and talking about destroying new worlds, it makes it hard to separate them. Both stories can be self-contained, but there's too many similarities to write it off completely. I feel like Toby's wording around it left enough wiggle room for us to wonder.
He said Undertale is the same as we left it. The characters in that game remain untouched. He still uses the same characters in this game but with a different story. Doesnt mean the game cannot be self aware like Undertale and deal with timelines and space/time. That's a thing in the games to be self aware about everything that happens and Deltarune is the same in that sense.

@@TheShowCrow_Main_Channel i agree because i posted this in other videos a little bit early. This also explains why sans knows about the sun, and basically the wole spiel about "Its a beautiful day outside, birds are singing, flowers are blooming, on days like this..." Its clearly a reference to deltarune, or the entire deltarune is a reference to sans.
The window in DR states "its a beautiful day outside." The birds can be heard in DR, and flowers are blooming too.
Then, the ending where chara takes control is the ending of genocide or pacifist after genocide.
Something to notice that no one else has noticed yet is taking into consideration the entry 17 of gaster: "Darker yet darker, the darkness keeps growing, the shadows cutting deeper, photon readings, this next experiment seems very, very, interesting. *what do you TWO think* ?
When entering the dark world, there are two people there. Kris and Susie. And the description in the entry 17 fits with the scene shown when they open the closet. its another reference, or something similar happened to another two people. (Either sans and papyrus, chara and frisk, etc..)

I think the stain is from the pie Kris ate without letting Toriel eat some.
Maybe the knife is to steal more cake since Kris has never actually attacked anyone only pranked. So I think he isn't a violent person, instead more of an odd trickster.

I think Kris in overworld (town) is evil or at least an as*hole (maybe he is manipulated or it is his choice I do not know)
But at the beggining then we create a vessel red heart appears of course vessel is discarded but heart (or soul to be more accurate)
Remains and it is players soul because then we fall in to the dark world Kris save file is overwritten by our own and we control him and make decision to fight or spare plus heart Kris has is the same from the "creation" scene and later he pulles it out
My theory is this: after the intro our soul is fused with Kris (somehow) but we can not seize control and make choice however then we fall into the dark world control shifts from Kris to us (save alteration and being able to control his red heart and also note about soul reacting to fountain is at least intersting details that might point to this)
But the thing is after we return to overworld Kris regains control and he did not like that our choices changed the outcome of king (we can overthrow him or force him to fall asleep) so he separetes himself from us by imprisoning soul in a cage (the fact that we can control the heart at this moment means that it is players soul)
No actually the king threw old rulers in prison and forced his people to quit their original jobs and fight or make tutorials or serve him and his son even if they didn't want to and the guy that was with mr. Elegance talked about how intimidating the king was by saying how he bows to him if he asks because the king can be/is scary
Edit: ppl in the comments have told me about the King being guided by a knight and talking about how he won't disappoint him and ppl said he was following his orders but still proves my point we have a knight from the dark world ordering the King to do these actions but hey we'll see what happens in chapter 2 :)
Wasn't the knight is the one who put the other leaders in prison and he also forced the king of spades to do that? The king said in a battle dialog "I won't fail you my knight"
And he was ready to throw his own son off a castle and let him splatter

Mostly true, but lacking one crucial detail. The King only acted this way upon meeting the enigmatic "Knight", who he constantly references throughout his fight. The Knight is interesting in that its hinted to be a possible candidate for the one who drove Jevil insane with Gaster being the other candidate, so The Knight seems to be the true super boss of the complete game (remember Deltarune is currently only Chapter 1, meaning that the King of Spades was basically a tutorial boss).

I'm personally of the mindset that this has nothing to do with either Frisk or Chara, and it's simply the player taking control of Kris via his SOUL, who then breaks control by tearing it out. Toby has stated that DELTARUNE is a standalone universe from UNDERTALE, even. It just uses the same characters, but it's an entirely different story. For all we know, Chara and Frisk don't even exist.
I've never been the fan of the whole "evil Chara!" thing--Chara dislikes humanity and definitely give off a dark vibe in Undertale's genocide route, with your determination awakening them from the dead. But Chara is just an observer--or the player's guide, acting as the narrator, which can be revealed through a variety of different flavor texts and dialogue. As you go along in Undertale, depending on the route you pick, it influences Chara's character or their general outlook on the world. In genocide, your actions reaffirm Chara's outlook of humans being terrible, whereas in true pacifist or neutral, you may prove otherwise.
In essence, the player shapes who Chara is. They're not an evil demon, they're a tormented child.

he didn't say that it was a standalone, just that it's an AU where the events of undertale don't take place (of course that doesn't mean things from undertale can't come to deltarune)

Think about this, from the legend that you can watch upon booting up the game:
"Only then, shining with HOPE
Three HEROES appear at WORLD'S EDGE"
The heroes will appear at the edge of the dark world.
"Only they can seal the FOUNTAINS
And banish the ANGEL'S HEAVEN"
Take note, here, that "fountains" is plural. Also, that we don't know what "angel's heaven" is, although the name "Asriel" is the name of an angel in Christian belief, the angel of death.
"Only then will balance be restored
And the world saved from destruction"
Clearly, you don't save the world by closing one fountain, but multiple. Maybe even all of them.
"Today, the FOUNTAIN of DARKNESS-
The geyser that gives this land form-
Stands tall at the center of the kingdom."
The fountain, the first one, is at the CENTER of the kingdom. Why does this matter? Because the THREE heroes appear at world's edge, the edge of the world. World's edge cannot be the center of the kingdom. And yet, our heroes appear just outside Ralsei's kingdom, arguably Ralsei appears IN his kingdom. Which would make his kingdom world's edge.

Question: If the fountain is at the center of the kingdom, wouldn't that be Card Castle? Where the four kings of darkness have ruled for a long time? So, if Ralsei's kingdom is at "World's Edge,"
Which fountain is the original?
If it's the fountain at card castle, then sure we've stopped a coup by Lancer's father, but in that case, he's just protecting the original fountain.

The cage received a lot of hits, as it says if you inspect it. That could mean that this isn't the only time kris became "someone else". Also i do think the knife at the end was for cutting the pie lol

i have to throw a wrench into your theory because here are a few issues
1) Ralsei is a darkener himself, as he tells us he is the prince of darkness so why would he kill his own?
2) Lancer's father is 1 of the 4 kings, so why couldn't he be the "evil" one, also he is a villain as the "enemy's" tell you he took over by force after the other kings fell, which makes him a dictator
3) we are NOT Kris, but the Heart(or soul) that controls Kris, as this has been debunked by lot of other theorist as we see kris take action against the king
4) Chara Knew you would go the good route, which is why they "get rid of you" in the end(by locking you in a cage)
5) some of the enemies thank us, that's kinda contradictory to being evil
6) this whole series in one gaint gaster experiment, as you said in your pass theory, but what you forgot is that WE (the soul) is the experiment, as the ending song in deltarune, the lab logs, and the huge mention of "determination" points to it

But if we are not Kris, then what are we in the first place?
Are we a soul that belongs to someone else? Have we been created from zero?
I think it's all a matter of if this has any relation to the genocide ending in Undertale. if it does, then that soul actually belongs to Frisk. We are called Kris, because Frisk is combined with Chara. Frisk is the soul, while Chara is the body. without a soul, Chara can take control over the body freely, but i think that they can only act without a soul at night time.
Gaster's experiment might be his own plan to save Frisk, and end Chara once and for all. he is the only one besides Chara who can approach Frisk's soul directly and give them information.
Gaster might after all, be the narrator in both Undertale and Deltarune!
maybe kris just does that every night because it did say when interacting with the bird cage saying that it has seen a few bruises
And that Toriel locks his room at night because he kept wandering off...
The Darkworld reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. Especially since it's implied that Kris went to a different realm; maybe the Darkworld is part of the void. ( It would explain why Gaster is the only thing that's heard on the phone.)
yeah there are some similiarities. Falling into a "hole" that takes you into another world, the strange but charming characters, and the implication that maybe it was all in the MC's head

Unlike Alice in Wonderland, the events in the darkworld are unquestionably real because of the egg and Susie's memories.

I think that the corruption of the soul or the bad body your soul is in was created by Gaster and I think he is behind your body's evil. I believe that your soul might be good as you control it and in the body is the one that pulled you out. Prehaps Kris is just the body and you are a reanimated soul changing because of the combination of Gaster and the genocide ending. I think you misinterpreted the king’s words. He thinks he is the hero to his people, but none of the people actually like him. They even decide to overthrow him just because of lancer and Kris’s group being nice to them
I want to know who this knight is. When the king becomes tired, he says "I failed you my knight". Jevil mentions the knight. I heard somewhere that it was the knight who locked up the other kings.

I really don't think the King is good everyone is scared of him and seen pretty miserable even before we fight them and he locked up the others kings to assume total control, like maybe he had good motivations, but by the way he treat Lancer I don't think he had, he was just an egotistical dude that only wanted power. The Dark World was quite cliche in the story, so an evil King fits normally on it.
Now Frisk I think they're just a problem child, my theory about why they are like that is because they lived in the shadow of their brother for so long that they started to make shit things to get at least some kind of attention, but in the end they did move on the way to protect Susie without the players command so I think they can be good if they wishes to.
But seeing the birdcage and the angers they have for the heart, maybe they are tired of being controlled by an entity that they don't know or even understand, and I have the suspicion that Chara entered in the picture thanks to the crack from the Light/Dark worlds or they crack it themselves to enters in this reality and was just wanting a 'empty' vessel to appear this is why I think after Kris ripped the heart Chara takes control of them almost immediately, Kris did pranks, but they just scare others not hurt others like Chara did, I think if they did pranks that hurt others people would be much more afraid of them and much lesser they would have a nerd as a bully.
I've heard the theory of chara throwing them out in the end, but I don't think it stands for two reasons.

I don't think Frisk is Kris, like if we use the theory that this world is just Undertale if the war never happened, Kris is more likely "Chara" and Frisk still a kid, because Chara and Kris are Asriel siblings and Frisk never even met Asriel alive, and when Frisk met him he was a teenager and Frisk a little kid.
I put Chara in quotation marks because I don't think they are really a person I think is an entity that possess anyone that have so much hate that they want to destroy everything, like how they awake when we start killing in Undertale and start to control Frisk body, I don't even think that the first human that fell was really Chara, I think they are already possess by Chara when they jump, maybe even did jump on the hole to kill themselves and destroy Chara in the process.
Hmm while I am not of one of the people to believe 'Chara is evil' in Undertale, this theory does bring some interesting idea such as the fact the egg does come back with you from that world and the fact we may be the one making Kris behave such a way.
There are issues going against it in that Kris doesn't just get angry if you are a Pacifist, they will throw the heart/soul out even if you want a full attempt at genocide in the dark world.
The king may see himself as the hero and you as the villain but that doesn't change the fact he's the only one to see that as no one else will go against you in the pacifist ending of the dark world. You would think that if you were a villain you would get more then one enemy. Sure in some games heroes are limited but it is often the villain vs the world.
Though I don't fully agree I will say these are interesting ideas and I think you did good on the video. Keep it up.
I see the ending as kris understanding that their/player's choices truly don't matter making them snap, practically closest thing to this timeline's flowey.

I propose that the person in the ending is not Chara. It is us.
First, how would Chara go from one timeline to another? Toby confirmed that Deltarune is a separate universe. Chara only can possibly go to another world after a genocide ending, and Toby confirmed that Deltarune does not change the ending you got in Undertale.
I propose that we are the "Chara" of this universe. We are taking over, or already took over, Kris just like Chara does to Frisk in the genocide route. We are more powerful, though. Chara needed genocide to wake up and say, "oh, don't erase? LOL your choices don't matter." But we do that at the start of the game. When we first save, we replace Kris' save with our own. The ending is not Chara retaliating; it's Kris.

I've always thought the dark fountain that is supposed to be in the castle where you meet Ralsei is the second one and the one actually wrecking havoc.
Think about it: He claims to be a prince, yet has no subjects, you cant enter any doors or houses, nobody is around, and he closes the door when you leave. What if it's one big facade?

While you say this, I must stress that Chara has acted as the narrator through Undertale as there is information that is relayed to us via checks and interactions that don't fit something taken from Frisk's perspective. It implies knowledge that Frisk as a new human to the underground simply would not know, and it becomes corrupted and 'nasty' as we do a genocide as our actions corrupt Chara. Yes, Chara may not have been a 'very good person' but remember that Chara IS a child. Chara also poisoned themselves to make a plan to claim human souls and free monsters... regardless of agenda, the act of self sacrifice betrays that Chara wasn't FULLY evil. They only became this way because of OUR actions as a player and in genocide, actively try to take control. Let me make it clear with the exact interactions with the mirrors through Undertale.

@@dragonhero386 I think perhaps Chara is more neutral. At least during the game. They do not force any route upon you. I believe that, in addition to narrator, Chara is the link to the player. They are part of the game itself. It is their name that appears on Save Files. In the Genocide ending they talk about "being the feeling when a number increases".
So why do they do what they do? Simple, in the Pacifist Route, they provide advice and humor, while in the Genocide Route, they are darker and will often skip straight to the fight for you (I say for you because they do not actually fight Papyrus, Undyne, or Mettaton, they just start the encounter and hand you back control)
Why? Because you are there to fight.
Why are they neutral? Simple, they do not have a soul of their own anymore. Perhaps they are merely guiding you to your chosen ending? If course, once you do Genocide, you can never have a truly happy ending again. And why? Because of two files sitting on your computer. And so Chara, as the game's link to the player, acts upon that. There is no malice nor regret. They do not even understand those feelings anymore. They are merely your guide.
Now, in Deltarune, we don't know if it even is Chara at this point. With so many other characters with the same name as Undertale characters, nothing can be taken for granted.

Chara keeps getting painted as the villain when in truth they are our guide and if it comes to it, our consequence for our actions as a player. We make the choices, Chara only acts to make that path go as it should by making sure we know what we need to know in pacifist with fun and humor, or skip to the point and give us what we desire in genocide... and then punish us after a successful genocide, to remind us that what we did has no reset button, much like real life. As for my feeling of why it's Chara in Deltarune, think very carefully on this... Kris exhibits signs of Chara's presence even naturally (love of chocolate, prankster, not exactly being a good person) and the ending makes it all the more noteworthy with the red eyes and knife... and one other detail that EVERYONE is overlooking. A human cannot survive without their soul much like a monster can't (normally... I mean, if they could, wouldn't they be walking around like Flowey, emotionless but alive?) so HOW would Kris be able to survive without our red SOUL? Answer is... it's Chara. Because even after a genocide, after we sell our soul to Chara to bring everyone back, we can still play. Why? Chara.
Heck, we even start to see the 'decline' with Chara starting to become noticable with how the NPCs mention that Kris looks 'strange', 'sick' and 'pale'. Another odd observation is with what happens when you drink the hot chocolate from QC's diner... it makes note that it tastes wonderful, but then 'Your throat tightened...'. Pretty sure that nobody would have that reaction to it unless either they were allergic to something in it (in which case why would the bunny girl say you commonly had this with Asriel?) or it caused a reaction with Chara's presence (meaning, Kris actively is tensing because it's causing something he doesn't want to happen). Kris also holds a admiration for the ball of junk you leave the dark world with (using it even tells you so) and it takes multiple attempts to get him to throw it away... he doesn't want to let go of the things that let him be more than what he normally is, his chance to really be 'himself' rather than what everyone else sees him as. Unfortunately... he doesn't have a choice. Just like we don't.
@@brolytriplethreat I belive the same I never said they are evil with a big "E" but that theory of "judgement boy" makes no senese and it's based on strawmans wich are only used to induce guilt to the oponent they don't provide any evidence. Narrachara has it's weak points too, why isn't chara narrating with "joy" pasifist, if they are sad in the genocide because we are killing all their friends and family why aren't they happy if we befriend them? wereas if we go througth the genocide they start apearing more and more. Later on this makes sense as they explain "the more LOVE you get the closer I am to you". But they seem to be missing in the other routes. For the rest of the game the narrator could just be a narrator similar to the "stanley's parable narrator" when he isnt omnisient but he is not a character INSIDE the story. everything the narrator says in undertale withing the nuetral/pasifist routes, have two propuses:
1) As a build up to create a shock value: Check|| sans the easiest enemy|| proceeds to kick your ass....
2) Comedic propuses: Almost anything in spare puzzles.....
Wich is similar to the "SP" narrator, remeber Undertale is a metanarrative story, made to break storytelling convictions, just like the other game, so the "omniscient" narrator is no longer Omniscient.

About this mysterious "Knight", there's is evidence that this could be Gaster. The man behind the tree, who is most likely Gaster, gives you an egg. EGG translated to Wing Dings makes left, up, up in hand signs, which is the movement pattern for a Knight in chess.
This is like in UnderTale : You do a genocide , kill everyone , and Understand you are the Villain.

Ppl knew the name of Deltarune at the time of making this video, so it was mainly promotional strategy, so at the very least it's not worse than than it was 5 years ago. Just more on-the-nose, maybe.

cool perspective :) but i think the choice to place the party on the left as mentioned at 6:12, was because throughout the game, you progress by walking towards the right so it would make more sense to place the enemies on the right so once you beat them, u can continue moving rightwards
First and foremost; No the king is NOT a hero to his people at ALL. HE HAD THE OTHER KINGS LOCKED AWAY! EVERYONE FEARS HIM! HE WAS GOING TO KILL HIS SON! HE GOT RID OF ALL THE PEOPLE'S JOBS AT MAKING PUZZLES! He THINKS of himself a HERO. He thinks his actions he is taking are heroic because of the mysterious KNIGHT we have got pieces of. This KNIGHT that lead Jevil to realize that he is in a game. Calls the game what it is, a prison. The confined window of Delta Rune certainly could be considered a prison indeed. This knight is the one who has the power to create these other fountains.
Specifically in the fight with the king there are some things of note when YOU the player character talk to him. He specifically calls you a lightbringer, something we have never heard anyone say to anyone in the game before. It's also oddly different from Lightner. It could be a shortening of it, but I am not so sure. Why would he say something else specifically? Not to mention that it is followed up by "Your very existence goes against our very own." Which seems to imply that lightners and darkners should never coexist. But as we hear in the story that is not the case. I think this message is actually said to the player character, it's being said to you. "By the Knight's will, I shall shatter your heart to pieces." The knight knows about the goings on of the game, the knight is mysterious and hidden from sight. The knight has caused at least 2 people to change, that being the King and Jevil. There's a lot more in the game than just that, but I don't buy this you guys are the bad guys thing. There's a lot more at play here that we just simply do not know.
I also really don't know how I feel about the RPG fight thing because Super Mario RPG: Legend of the 7 Stars has the same kind of orientation to Delta Rune. Also all the Mario and Luigi games. Honestly I think it just makes more sense having your characters on the left, more often than not in platformers you go left to right. I honestly don't know how to feel about this point at tall.
I have so many more notes on Delta Rune it's insane, but yeah I don't know how I feel about this one dude.

Still, on the Pacific ending, all of them showed thankfulness for defeating the king, the supposed villain. Plus interactions with monster in the Dark World showed that it was a much better, happier place before the King appeared.

To me Kris seems like a lifeless doll to. That the player is controlling him. That is why he doesn't react to Ralsei taking his hat off, getting fixed by the hammer, susie eating chalk, getting slammed into the locker, etc. The only few times he breaks this act is when Susie is about to be defeated he shields her, when he takes a few steps back from the closet in fear, when he bows to the king to help Lancer. In fear of the player taking anything from him, so he keeps his side of the room dull. When the leave the dark world, Kris has a object that he loves, if you press toss it will say
*You really don't want to toss it, toss it anyway?
or something like that. If you press yes it will say Kris is bitter. If you press no, Kris will be relieved.

Like you said, there is a chance that the King is actually the good guy. But the ending in the 'Dark World' was a happy ending.
Everyone is happy that the king is gone and that Lancer is the new king.
Also: The king locked up the other 3 kings up in a cage, because he wanted to rule the 'Dark World'.
With all of this information, I can almost garentuee that some parts of your theory are incorrect.

I think the game took inspiration from the persona series. Where the person's inner thoughts are either hidden or show depending on where you are. In the world of light or dark.

The only RPGs I played were the Mario & Luigi Titles so I got used to the good guys being on the left side of the screen that I didn't think of the traditional RPGs where they were usually on the right side.
I think the vessel we created was one of the goner characters because the file name of the vessel is "goner". In UD, goner kid had a dialogue of being not in a world/erased. I think this is somehow connected on how we created the vessels, being DISCARDED and REJECTED.
