Technically, Jevil isn't the only Joker card. In Tarot decks, the colored Joker is known as The Magician in major arcana - like how Seam was the court magician. In addition, the colored Joker card usually beats the black-and-white joker card.
The next video will be all about stuff like this. I'm excited because it reminds me a lot of Hyper Light Drifter and how the whole plot was symbolized from tarot cards.
I'm a big fan of tarot, the joker and magician also represent the free-spirited and Desire, which very fits with Jevil and Seam circumstances. Susie, Ralsei and Kris by Tarot could represent the Devil, the Strength and The Chariot in terms of traits and are associated with the Earth, Fire and Water.
Jevil's name is most akin to The Devil in Tarot of course, but he wields a scythe like Death. A court Jester is of course a Fool, and The Magician is the only major arcana that depicts all four minor arcana ("I can do anything!"). His Tarot motifs are all over the place.
@Judson Joist depends since the Devil doesn't necessarily mean evil, it could represent freedom, playfulness but temptation. Sure Susie despite being poor has tempted herself to be extreme and brutal but shows enjoyment in her freedom with Lancer.
I think chapter two just confirmed this. When u talk to some salesman after the Big Shot fight, they say the phone just made garbage noise. If you try to call someone in the dark world, you get Gaster noises that are labeled as garbage noise. Meaning Gaster must be talking to them individually
I have a theory: Jevil really is free. Throughout Deltarune, it is made clear your choices don't matter. At the beginning, you create a character, only for it to be discarded. At home, it doesn't matter what you do, you are late for class. At school, no matter who you talk to, you are paired with Susie. In the Dark World, no matter who you SPARE, you will get the same ending. Those are just a few examples. In the Dark World, no one has a real choice, either. Everyone is forced to fight you. Where is the only places where your choices have an impact? The fight with Jevil. Jevil's cell is the only place that allows things to have freedom of choice. Written on a phone, sorry about any typos. HOLY GOD, 500 LIKES????
Wdym by "no matter who you spare you get the same ending"? The end of the chapter after going to bed? Or the end of the dark world adventure where you beat the king?
LightningBoltz95 Still the same, *SPOILER ALERT* the king is defeated and Kris returns home, then goes to bed and the end happens, throwing your soul to the cage and taking out a knife in a really creepy moment. No matter what you do, you'll have the same end, also Toby Fox confirmed that the full deltarune game will have only 1 ending.
Toby fox made delta rune and undertale but their not sequels or prequels of each other they just have: The same characters A same underground (but not symmetrical) 1 human and everyone else is a monster
@@not7170 I mean, that wouldn't make sense considering the "mystery man" is found in a completely black and white void while the dark world is super colourful.
To me Kris seems like a lifeless doll to. That the player is controlling him. That is why he doesn't react to Ralsei taking his hat off, getting fixed by the hammer, susie eating chalk, getting slammed into the locker, etc. The only few times he breaks this act is when Susie is about to be defeated he shields her, when he takes a few steps back from the closet in fear, when he bows to the king to help Lancer. In fear of the player taking anything from him, so he keeps his side of the room dull. When the leave the dark world, Kris has a object that he loves, if you press toss it will say *You really don't want to toss it, toss it anyway? or something like that. If you press yes it will say Kris is bitter. If you press no, Kris will be relieved.
Probably means that the characters are ALIVE or something but "act" (whether they know they're just puppets or not) still for us to control them. Reminds me of Toy Story.
Interesting, so Kris grew a sense of "individuality" and "existence" along the way. Perhaps, the Heart is a symbol of us players controlling him. That's why at the end he threw us into a cage and decided to be "Kris", not just a persona for the player.
TunaMayo I think Kris was already an individual by the time the player takes control of their body. They had their own life, relationships, and personality. People around the town even comment on how different Kris is when you’re talking to them. They probably tossed the soul into the cage because they resented the player for taking control of them.
@@sukanachuj1983 little late but the crossword puzzle sans gives you in undertale as a 'trap' has ice-e pizza on it (i think thats what its called) and ice-e only appears in deltarune's light world and not anywhere else in undertale
5:22 “A nightmare will awaken in your hearts” At the end of chapter 1, Kris rips out his own heart, most likely after a nightmare. Not sure but this might be connected?
@@crowneddiamond The audio when you call home from the dark world is dark darker yet darker, Gasters version of entry 17. This is called 'Garbage noise' by the game. The sound from the phone is said to be 'garbage noise' by the salesman. We know that noise came from Mike.
This theory makes even more sense when you consider what the river person said: "Beware (of?) the man who speaks in hands". If interacting with him produces results like this, it would make sense for river person to warn about him
another thing that proves that the dark world isn't just imagination is the fact that after getting hit by the king in the dark world, susie's portrait changes to have a scar. then after leaving the dark world, you can still see the scar
This was something I chose to omit from the video because I couldn't actually tell if I was looking at an actual scar or not. I saw a few others mention this too, but could you identify what part is actually the scar? Are you referring to the mark under Susie's eye? I looked through the portrait files and can't verify it's actually a scar. If I'm missing something, any help would be appreciated. Cheers!
@@SwankyBox i figured it was a scar because when you surprise susie by finding her for the first time in the dark world, her hair sweeps out the way from her eye, where no scar/mark is visible. but after getting hit by the attack from the king, susie's sprite changes to have a mark/scar on her face, under the eye, along with her portrait. her hair also doesn't cover her eye anymore so i think this could also mean that her hair got cut off too. also cool videos lol
Jevil is kinda like flowey in a way... flowey says in the beginning says it’s killed or be killed, and in the beginning of the fight with jevil he says that it’s a game of life and death. Which is not exacly like flowey but sorta close. Jevil is full of tricks, like flowey is. Flowey and Jevil are exited to see visitors (or a visitor for Undertale). You can either have mercy on flowey or kill him like Jevil. Flowey and jevil are both trapped. Jevil is in a cage, while flowey (Asriel) is trapped in a flower soulless and can’t feel emotions
Both flowey and jevil hardly have sent tricks, heck jevil doesn't even trick you unless you wanna count his fight in which case even sans does a better job, flowey has no tricks in his boss fight and maybe you can say he tricked you at first but he doesn't do anything but martyr from there on, the only notable trick he did was with asgore and the souls Jevil also doesn't believe its kill or be killed, he just sees life as a game and people as it's players as seam says it, so he doesn't view death as a serious conundrum, or anything really Flowey knows what killing is and he's serious about it You also can't kill jevil, in fact you can't kill anything in deltarune, if you fight him he just turns into the jevils knife and is still essentially alive and if you spare him he just goes to sleep and gives you the jevils tail You can kill flowey on the other hand and he doesn't give you anything upon sparing him Flowey isn't existed to see visitors at all, in fact he's kinda irritated with frisk because Frisk took away his save and load ability Also what is the whole mercy and spare comparison, you can do that with any monster in undertale, that doesn't exactly make them like flowey Also flowey isn't trapped, he's dead and the flower is his existence trying to cling onto something to survive, he wasn't cast into it against his will or anything Also by jevils own definition he's the only one who's free and everyone else is trapped in the chamber they built around themselves to keep him out, other than that yeah he is kinda trapped I'm sorry but I don't see the comparison, you'd have a better time comparing flowey to sans, he doesn't seem anything like jevil
@@milesandrews6711 Saying that Flowey is "serious" about killing is like saying he's benevolent. He has an extremely nihilistic view of everything and he only kills because he thinks it's more fun than helping other people, which he got bored of after doing it for who knows how long. He doesn't think anything is serious due to his power to reset and toy with the game's mechanics. This lack of restraint is what made him so twisted in the first place.
That is more for a game design perspective rather than a storyline perspective. Jevil is not telling us that when the hp drops tk zero we die, well, he does, but with the context, he's talking about our game with him. Ralsei, in the storyline perspective, might just be teaching us how to fight in this world, not using technical and fourth wall breaking terms at all. I don't have an explanation for the Susie reference, so you got me there. Maybe Ralsei does, but that doesn't mean the entire theory is debunked.
@@StrabbyStrabby Agreed. I guess, to find out the truth, we'll just need to wait for the next chapter. But it is worrisome if the next chapter just gives us more questions than answers. Such interesting story in just the first chapter... I wonder how the next chapter will turn out. I bet we all can't wait.
I think its interesting how Jevil is the only character you have to face by choice, and the only one where the end outcome changes depending on what you did (Slightly)
TL;DR at bottom. This is just some quick thing I threw together after watching this video. Jevil was the court Jester, Seam his partner. According to Seam a strange man told Jevil something one day that drove him insane. The man was Gaster. The thing he said? Something Gaster realized long ago during his time in the void. This entire world is a game and they're the characters. It explains why he sees the world as a game and always asks to play a game. Seam's world is becoming "darker, yet darker" which is Gaster's theme after hearing what Jevil said and locking him away. The end of the world according to Seam? Who knows. It could be Gaster's return, an unknown enemy, that's yet to be known. The egg doesn't change and multiplies. Who's soul is shattered and split across multiple timelines? Gaster. Who's head looks like a cracked egg? Gaster. Hell, for all we know that isn't even actually an egg but part of Gaster's soul. Now look at Seam and Gaster's faces. Their eyes and mouths are the same, with the eyes just flipped. Seam also says that Jevil was only a taste of the power and challenge that has yet to come in our adventures. This one could honestly mean many things with one of those things being, no matter how unlikely, a fight or challenge with Gaster. What's the name of the download program for the game, anyway? That's right, it's called SURVEY. Chapter 1 isn't a game, it's a survey. It's Gaster's way of seeing how we act and how we play. What our ideal character would look and what their personality would be. This "game" is part of Gaster's plan. However indirect, he's trying to interact with us. He wants to get back to his own timeline. He wants his soul back and he sees us, the player(s) as his way back. Look at the characters and sprites. Asriel is still here, we just don't see him. Same with Papyrus. Undyne is still a guard (police officer but same thing) but has both eyes in this world. Toriel is still a motherly figure, except actually our mother this time. Alphys is a teacher instead of a scientist but is still bad at her job. You may be able to see where I'm going with this. This isn't just Toby reusing sprites because he's either lazy or wants to give us the characters we love back. It's Gaster reusing the characters from Undertale just with some changes. Look at the twitter account that initially told us to go play this "game", with weeks after weeks of teasing and cryptic messages before hand. It's black, all black, and talks similar to how we all portrayed Gaster to speak whether it be comics, art pieces, or fan games (Just not in wing dings.) To sum up my point; Deltarune chapter 1 isn't a game at all. It's a survey made by Gaster to see how we react and act. What our ideal character would look and act like. This survey is his attempt to use us to get his soul back and return to his timeline.
No, not just Jevil.I think its also affecting Kris and Susie. This is because how when you wake up, you are in a classroom with a bunch of games. This connects to how Sean said that Jevil started to see the world as a game. This may have affected Sean because, Sean also said that he started to see the world differently.Maybe Sean, Jevil, Kris, and Susie, are people who got affected by Gaster.

Note: the egg might not multiply, but instead “take over” other objects in a way, because in asgore’s fridge there’s also a pickle jar, yet when you put in the egg it just has 2 eggs, no description of a pickle jar, still valid as a point though
This also "confirms" the origin of sans' ability to know undertale as if it was a game. After all, he also uses *gaster* blasters. -The WORLD REVOLVING has gaster's lemotif, at least, thats what i hear. -Also, the entry 17 in windings and the scene when kris and susie open the closed to the dark world seems to be a reference. Two people, something that emits darkness, photon readings negative...
This is like: *Welcome to the "Characters that realized their world was just a game by Gaster and now im depressed, mad and confused"* Current members: Sans, Jevil. Pending: Chara/Frisk, (Papyrus?),
Jevil’s not depressed though. He had the opposite outlook as Sans. Sans thinks that nothing he does matters so he might as well give up and stop trying. Jevil thinks nothing he does matters so he might as well do whatever he wants. That’s what I think he means by “I CAN DO ANYTHING!” He can’t literally do anything, but anything he wants to do. At least that’s how I see it.
@@bearerofthecurse69 I think Jevil isn't... doing well. He's turning crazy, obviously, after meeting that mysterious man (Gaster?), and began to change since that moment. But in his insanity, isn't really a fool. (For me he clearly interacted with Gaster.) Sans have seen and knows a lots of f stuffs and even if isn't doing pretty well mentally, he needs to keep it together, for his brother and his happiness.
For those who saw MatPat's video on Gaster, He said: Gaster -> Sans & Papyrus Deltarune says: Egg in the fridge -> Two eggs in the fridge. Coincidence? I think not.
The Knight that we hear of who fights for the King of Spades is the Jack of Spades in Playing cards. The jack was originally called a knight to avoid confusion. This could mean that there is not one, but four knights in Deltarune
This is true in cards, but it seems that Toby might not be taking this rule all the way. It depends on the full game, but so far, all we know is that "the Knight" and "the Queen" is mentioned. I puzzled over this too. I guess we'll see when the darn thing finally gets released.
Deltarune chapter 2 disproves this it shows that A. Kris is the knight B. I don’t thing that lancer would go breaking people’s minds as he’s the jack spades

You know how the player, being a human, and having Determination, can never fully die? (Respawns) Maybe since Gaster was victim to his own experiment, which was harnessing Determination, now he cannot fully die, that explains the knife moving, as gaster/jevil cannot fully die
So basically Gaster influenced the timeline of the Dark World too, so that the people within wouldn't figure out what their reality really is from Jevil telling them, and in turn figure out how to manipulate it, or how to escape it and affect other realities like Gaster can.

I wouldn't put stock in any theories about Deltarune. It's like trying to predict the ending in a movie using info only from the first 10 minuets and a couple interviews the director gave.
I like to think that Jevil sees requests differently like if you ask him that he can’t break a cliff, he will think it’s a challenge & therefore take the “challenge” on. It really shows how special of a jester he is, similar to Dimentio from Super Paper Mario where their minds are clearly incorrect or even broken & bent on having fun *They just have... differently than others*
@@pleasuredlemon6682 Jester replace jokers in a set of wizard, by the fool - sometimes called the jester - in a tarot deck, the weli in a German deck (ok that one is useless here), the magician in the Bolognese deck (... That one kind of work). Historically they were more decks than the French deck. In short: same difference.
Just realized: I’m art of Jevil’s theme sounds like Gaster’s. Four notes, and the middle pitched is played twice as well. This proves the theory even more.
Interesting video, but one question come to mind: what about "The Queen" that Jevil mention if you beat him by dropping his HP to 0? She is only mentionned once, but I feel like she is a piece of the puzzle that not alot of peoples have mentionned in their theories, and I am curious as to what you think this "Queen" is.
The queen of spades? Like, there is kings, but where are the queens? Also, i think that she will ride some kind of *flaming motorbike* . She is old enough to ride them.
We're going to have to wait for Chapter 2, sadly. There's no other references to go off of in Deltarune... But there is a possibility if it wasn't the Knight that drove Jevil mad, it may have been the Queen... or maybe they're the same person? Or maybe they're Gaster in disguise trying to hide away for the worst of the people... just like Ralsei may be disguised as a Prince of the Dark instead of a real one, for either their own, or for the best of their friends... anyone else think it's odd that everyone who lives in the Dark World knows of the Knight, but Ralsei doesn't mention a thing about it? A lot of potential decite...
It was Sans who broke Jevil. 1: He's the only character who looks identical to his Undertale version, so he could be the same. 2: Darkeners can bleed, and Sans just so happens to be able to bleed. 3: Darkeners can dodge attacks, and Sans can dodge attacks too. 4: Sans knows a lot about the mechanics of Undertale. (An entire Error handling message narrated by him, referencing LV, HP and EXP, breaking the fourth wall, etc). 5: Sans seems to be from the surface, but no longer considers it his home.(his line at the Mettaton hotel dinner date, him saying he wants to go home or go back, etc).
1) Ok fair enough 2) Forgive me but where is it shown that Darkeners bleed? I dont remember that being a thing? Aside from "Everybody bleeds, right?" from susie but that might not be literal? And even so what does that have to do with anything? 3) Again, forgive me but I can't remember a time where a darkener specifically dodges an attack and even so what does that have to do with anything? 4) Ok fair enough i guess 5) he doesn't want to go back to the surface not because he doesnt want to be free but because he knows that even if monsters get free, the player can just reset the game and send everyone back. That's why "getting to the surface doesn't appeal anymore". The player will eventually reload their save, so it doesn't matter.
@@BrixVGM Susie tells Lancer when she fights him that they'll have to clean him off the floor, so I guess the DO bleed. Also, he dosen't want to go home because it's not his timeline.
@@ianthecoolthief6226 Ok, fair enough, but how would susie know that they do? And still what does Sans Bleeding and Darkeners possibly bleeding have to do with any of this? Also, That's an Assumsion that sans isnt from this timeline. He litterally states in the genocide run, here's the dirrect quote: "and getting to the surface doesn't really appeal anymore, either." "cause even if we do... we'll just end up right back here, without any memory of it, right?" People always just take the first line and assume it's because he isnt from this timeline, but if you look at his very next line he makes it clear. He doesnt care about getting to the surface because the player will just reset the timeline and monsters will just end up back underground without any memory of ever being freed. If you've ever reset after doing a true pacifist route you've done exactly this.
Isn’t there a theory or fanon that Sans worked under Gaster? If that’s the case, then maybe we are getting to see two potential outcomes from the things Gaster finds. Sans is apathetic and feels hopeless. Jevil sees himself as free. Both are shown to be lonely and isolated in their own ways after Gaster. (And then you have the fact that their respective themes were the biggest bops in their respective games.) To relate back to your theory on Sans, it does seem plausible. But I can’t help but subscribe to Gaster being the key.
What if all of these characters such as Spamton and Jevil each made contact with The one of pieces of Gaster that have split across the multiple realities and maybe they represent something too like Jevil represents pure insanity and Spamton represents obsession but that’s just a hunch and probably not likely
all these different theories and yet not a single person mentions that you can enter the dark world by going back to bed and that the characters will have very different conversations when you get back ALSO you still pop up in the same room when you exit the dark world. Literally nobody is bringing this up in their theories.
@lorilucena because it isnt true. when u return home and go to bed in-game, the game ends. your save would be wherever was the last place u saved and nothing will have changed. if it is possible to return to the Dark World, it's probably through a hack or a fanmade game
@@iiep4uk604 i'm pretty sure that also just ends the game though... because the story has u go to the closet at the school, and at some point end up in the abandoned classroom, in order to "enter" the Dark World...so it doesnt make sense for you to "enter" the Dark World when u go to sleep. is there a video of someone doing this, because i'm almost positive this is fake
A Jester.. noone would believe his opinions because of a jester's job he's suppose to be funny and look *crazy* so most likely the others would just think that he's role playing ?
I think it’s cause Gaster knew how he would react to the information. Deltarune is almost the exact opposite of Undertale. So I think that when Gaster told Sans, Sans didn’t tell everyone he knew or tried to,he kept this info to himself and Gaster knew he would. But when Gaster told Jevil he knew he would react the way he did and that was his plan.
When the game is complete, Perhaps freeing jevil may make a change in the game, a new ending perhaps, in a game where "choices don't matter", chaos is needed for a choice to be meaningful to the events
6:13 Dark darker yet darker. The darkness keeps growing. The shadows cutting deeper. Photon readings negative. This next experiment seems very very interesting. What do you two think? G A S T E R H A S S O M E T H I N G T H E R E
The whole "everyone else is locked in a cage" thing reminds me of The Tenda in the Lost Underworld in Earthbound. Truly believing that they were free in their little cage whereas the Dinos were in a cage, when it is quite obvious that the opposite is true
Also the Cage thing happened in Deltarune with the three Kings of Heart, Club and Diamond and a "Queen" imprisoned and Kris having their soul thrown into one, so there is a theme of it.
He's probably not far off with the "prison" he believes he's outside of. Look at the warped background of the stage during the Jevil fight. It looks eerily similar to the discordant background while creating the character in the beginning-when the slowed down theme of Gaster is playing. Jevil was quite literally outside the world.
Gaster was said to be shattered across time and space. What if that's what the shards are that you get from the bonus boss in each chapter of Deltarune? That would mean they were either pierced by a shard of Gaster or are themselves Gaster pieces.
Also, Sans likely interacted with G4$73R as well, and Sans' determinism seems very similar to Seam's hopelessness, and both reference the end of the world. Sans: "timelines stopping and starting, until eventually, *everything ends.* " Seam: "I can make you tea, and we can toast to the *end of the world.* "

I like to imagine him saying i can do anything and everyone else bieng trapped is somewhat true in my headcannon . I like to think he knows hes in a game you see free will is a core theme in deltarune when he says i can do anything is refering to how since your only action is railroaded by him and then a battle he doesnt think everyone else is locked up physically but that by bieng locked up he isnt forced into thegame where everyone else is particapating in the players game he never had too and was truly free

When the leave the dark world, Kris has a object that he loves, if you press toss it will say

Probably means that the characters are ALIVE or something but "act" (whether they know they're just puppets or not) still for us to control them. Reminds me of Toy Story.
Ya Kris is like a puppet being controlled by the person behind the screen or as known as the player
Interesting, so Kris grew a sense of "individuality" and "existence" along the way. Perhaps, the Heart is a symbol of us players controlling him. That's why at the end he threw us into a cage and decided to be "Kris", not just a persona for the player.
@@TimewithRen brilliant! (I feel like i'm talking like a scientist for some reason.)

The man who speaks in hands
Asriel: son of a- *sweats* welp gotta go after all **I can do anything**
What's a flowey?
Both flowey and jevil hardly have sent tricks, heck jevil doesn't even trick you unless you wanna count his fight in which case even sans does a better job, flowey has no tricks in his boss fight and maybe you can say he tricked you at first but he doesn't do anything but martyr from there on, the only notable trick he did was with asgore and the souls
Jevil also doesn't believe its kill or be killed, he just sees life as a game and people as it's players as seam says it, so he doesn't view death as a serious conundrum, or anything really
Flowey knows what killing is and he's serious about it
You also can't kill jevil, in fact you can't kill anything in deltarune, if you fight him he just turns into the jevils knife and is still essentially alive and if you spare him he just goes to sleep and gives you the jevils tail
You can kill flowey on the other hand and he doesn't give you anything upon sparing him
Flowey isn't existed to see visitors at all, in fact he's kinda irritated with frisk because Frisk took away his save and load ability
Also what is the whole mercy and spare comparison, you can do that with any monster in undertale, that doesn't exactly make them like flowey
Also flowey isn't trapped, he's dead and the flower is his existence trying to cling onto something to survive, he wasn't cast into it against his will or anything
Also by jevils own definition he's the only one who's free and everyone else is trapped in the chamber they built around themselves to keep him out, other than that yeah he is kinda trapped
I'm sorry but I don't see the comparison, you'd have a better time comparing flowey to sans, he doesn't seem anything like jevil
@@jevil1034 DO YOU WANT TO SEE ME SUFFER!?!?
@@milesandrews6711 Saying that Flowey is "serious" about killing is like saying he's benevolent. He has an extremely nihilistic view of everything and he only kills because he thinks it's more fun than helping other people, which he got bored of after doing it for who knows how long. He doesn't think anything is serious due to his power to reset and toy with the game's mechanics. This lack of restraint is what made him so twisted in the first place.
WRONG. jevil isn't the only one who knows about the hp and the fact that its all a game. ralsei also knows about the whole thing. "press z"
That could be excused for because Toby needed to make someone the tutorial, in this case, that is Ralsei.
Also, who the hell is Z?
(Susie reference)
But if Susie says that, it almost looks like Ralsei really said that out loud
Wait how does it change? I beat Jevil and didn’t notice any change
@@c00lg00p it changes by if you save or kill him
@@matthewgdyou can't kill him, you idiot.
It's black, all black, and talks similar to how we all portrayed Gaster to speak whether it be comics, art pieces, or fan games (Just not in wing dings.)
To sum up my point; Deltarune chapter 1 isn't a game at all. It's a survey made by Gaster to see how we react and act. What our ideal character would look and act like. This survey is his attempt to use us to get his soul back and return to his timeline.
That's a really good theory..
I think you just explained the whole of chapter 1.
or , well , yes , you just explained the entirety of chapter 1 , it makes sense. Everything you just commented makes perfect sense!!!!!!

Could be junior evil too...
Just realized: I’m art of Jevil’s theme sounds like Gaster’s. Four notes, and the middle pitched is played twice as well. This proves the theory even more.

Me: "Can you make Ralsei real?"
Jevil: "I can do almost anything..."

He can he just don't want to do it.
And give up his freedom?
Interesting video, but one question come to mind: what about "The Queen" that Jevil mention if you beat him by dropping his HP to 0? She is only mentionned once, but I feel like she is a piece of the puzzle that not alot of peoples have mentionned in their theories, and I am curious as to what you think this "Queen" is.
Wait for chapter 2
I wonder what card would she be. For now I stick to her being a Heart
@@petarmitkov1056 Spades, like the King, most likely...
1) Ok fair enough
2) Forgive me but where is it shown that Darkeners bleed? I dont remember that being a thing? Aside from "Everybody bleeds, right?" from susie but that might not be literal?
And even so what does that have to do with anything?
3) Again, forgive me but I can't remember a time where a darkener specifically dodges an attack and even so what does that have to do with anything?
4) Ok fair enough i guess
5) he doesn't want to go back to the surface not because he doesnt want to be free but because he knows that even if monsters get free, the player can just reset the game and send everyone back.
He litterally states in the genocide run, here's the dirrect quote:
"and getting to the surface doesn't really appeal anymore, either."
"cause even if we do... we'll just end up right back here, without any memory of it, right?"
People always just take the first line and assume it's because he isnt from this timeline, but if you look at his very next line he makes it clear.
Sans bleeds not blood, but ketchup

@@karmanicisadumbass dud did u watch his deltarune theory ?
Kinda close to MatPat's theory.
all these different theories and yet not a single person mentions that you can enter the dark world by going back to bed and that the characters will have very different conversations when you get back
ALSO you still pop up in the same room when you exit the dark world.
Literally nobody is bringing this up in their theories.
arandomguy9 what??? i didn’t know that!
@lorilucena because it isnt true. when u return home and go to bed in-game, the game ends. your save would be wherever was the last place u saved and nothing will have changed. if it is possible to return to the Dark World, it's probably through a hack or a fanmade game
@@Mariewolf_94 if you go to the bed at the START of the game you go to the dark world
@@iiep4uk604 i'm pretty sure that also just ends the game though... because the story has u go to the closet at the school, and at some point end up in the abandoned classroom, in order to "enter" the Dark World...so it doesnt make sense for you to "enter" the Dark World when u go to sleep. is there a video of someone doing this, because i'm almost positive this is fake
@@Mariewolf_94 there is a video of someone doing this. you can try even yourself
"How about we play a game, Murray?"
But can you explain why he can do anything?
He is a joker, he isn't a diamond or a heart card, he can be and do anything that he wants. He doesn't have a role in a game of cards.
Because he can
The Joker card can be any of the four suit of cards. That's why he can do anything.
He's the only one that knows everything's a game. He's the only one that's truly free, not caring about anything
Can he summon Big Chungus
Yet the question remains:
Out of all characters, why did Gaster pick Jevil to be told the truth?
Gaster was scattered across time and space. I don't exactly know how much Gaster can choose who he does and doesn't talk to.
A Jester.. noone would believe his opinions because of a jester's job he's suppose to be funny and look *crazy* so most likely the others would just think that he's role playing ?
Plus he’s the last kind of card of a deck of cards. The joker
Jevil is the childish behavior of Kris that was locked away.
I didn't..think of that! That's actually very clever.
That's actually really smart!
When the game is complete, Perhaps freeing jevil may make a change in the game, a new ending perhaps, in a game where "choices don't matter", chaos is needed for a choice to be meaningful to the events
Jevil: I can do anything
Me: Can you not target ralsei

The whole "everyone else is locked in a cage" thing reminds me of The Tenda in the Lost Underworld in Earthbound. Truly believing that they were free in their little cage whereas the Dinos were in a cage, when it is quite obvious that the opposite is true
And it's clear that Toby loves earthbound.
Jevil was quite literally outside the world.
well sans is ness and Jeff is really just Alphys.
@@WillButtlerYeets hmm
Gaster was said to be shattered across time and space. What if that's what the shards are that you get from the bonus boss in each chapter of Deltarune? That would mean they were either pierced by a shard of Gaster or are themselves Gaster pieces.

He also can do everything. How interesting
