Does the sonar only show what's exactly below you or is it picking up what's a head of you and coming your way? The way I understand it is the left side of the screen is the backside of the boat where the transducer is placed. We have a lowrance hook triple shot 12

How do you tell if the fish are to the left or right of you? Or is it just picking up what's in front of you? Just wondering if there is a way like the 360 that says 10 or 30 feet to the left.
Here's a dumb question about the sensitivity on a Lowrance Hook fish finder. I bought a 9 inch for my kayak new and spent 15 minutes looking for that feature/adjustment on that fish finder. I laugh every time I hear someone state how simple/easy these units are. Compared to the competition, these units are a pain in my arse in more ways than one. You might want to consider starting a video on sensitivity with how you find that feature to begin with. Thanks

ive been getting lines from the top to bottom any way to removing them? im thinking if i moved the sensatividy or something any advice?
Just got a eagle 9 which has replaced the hook series. Looks like a great unit, but I'm having difficulty getting a nice clear picture. I have an 1988 ranger v393 and it seems like I have a lot of debris or static on the screen. Not sure if it's turbulence because it's a step v haul and I can't find the correct placement or what. I'll definitely be using this vid this weekend to see what I can do

have you used hook reveal yet? was wondering if the reveal is worth the extra expense.

What is the yellow bar at the top of the display that takes up the first couple feet of depth?
It's probably reading the middle of my boat since it dips down in the center. But really it only shows up about 1 foot on the screen.
Great information...i came across marks that resembled a large school of Striped bassin terms of color of fish , but not defined arches or separation of the marks. im using a Hook 2 unit...can i send u a screen shot ?

When I hit the pages button it juts creates a big line down the center and just keeps on scanning and I can’t seem to get it to actually pick up the right thing like depth or anything like for instance it says I’m in 300 feet when I know I’m only in 15, is there anything I can try to do to fix that thanks
When this happens it's usually a bad transducer but Lowrance hook units are known for people not plugging in plugging in the plug tight enough.

What do you do when you start the device? I am a beginner and for some reason the device is not working well. Depth is not stable at all and moves up and down very fast. Do I have to press a specific button after starting the device or is it a hardware issue?

I would need more information in order to help. When you boot the unit up Does it start scanning the bottom at all? Also sometimes if you're in waters where the bottom changes quite a bit and you have your unit set to auto on the depth setting it will change quite a bit. Try switching the unit to about 10' deeper than what you're fishing see if that stabilizes lizes it.
Mine just says "stopped" can't get the transducer to work aswell.
I’m getting nothing but a bunch of vertical lines. The screen never really pulls up. Could it be my transducer or some kind of rookie mistake? The cord for the transducer was chewed in half by a muskrat I assume. I thought I spliced it well. Maybe get a new one? Anyone have any input? Also, the screen seems to work in simulator mode , so that is why I think the unit probably isn’t the problem.

I've heard the hook units transducers are junk I dont know I was looking into getting one for the front of my boat and problems with yours ?
I use the Total Scan Transducer. Its works great.
My water temp on my split shot transducer no longer works, barely had my sonar a year. It's out of warranty, Garmin from now on for me.
If every time you stop using something that doesn't work you'll be going through quite a few brands my man. I actually put out videos for Lowrance, Humminbird, and garmin I've had issues with all 3 here and there but they are all good units as long as they are hooked up correctly and the user educates himself in how to use them.

I hit menu. I pick sonar I press options and I get auto on top and more options on the bottom. No matter what I do I cannot get to any sensitivity settings? Am I doing something wrong?

Unfortunately I no longer have this graph. But you should find it in a setting called overlays.
