    In this video make sure the steps and procedures necessary to replace the exhaust manifold in catalytic converter on a Chevy Colorado in GMC Canyon. This particular vehicle has the 3.5 L in-line five cylinder engine however similar procedures can be taken to remove that mean for the afternoon in line for 2.8 L or 2.9 L engine. Turns out that cracks on the manifold on these trucks are quite common. In this video I choose to repair the crack and wait for a proper replacement just to get to Get the fleet vehicle back into the fleet. As downtime is not good. I hope this video is help you out if it has please like and subscribe if you have any questions or comments please leave something in the comment section. Thank you for watching

    On the gasket which way does it go on with the OEM gasket there is a high spot on one side and a low dip on the other side?

    So many chevy colorado owners going through so many exhaust manifolds/catalytic converter on a yearly basis when california smog check is due.

    Does the direction you put the multilayered gasket in matter? The slots on each side seem to have different ridges.

    Any preference for you on cast iron or steel manifold?

    Nice work and thank you for the video. We have a 2007 Colorado w/ the 4 cylinder (92K). Crack has just started. Did you have a hard time removing the bolts from the head. I plan on doing this job in spring when the weather gets warmer.

    Did you have any symptoms prior? I had exhaust coming in when driving but stopped with the heat on. I cannot find a leak yet.

    Good morning,
    I send a message about my 2009 Chevy Colorado not so long ago. The issue I’m having is that when my truck gets to its normal temperature RPM goes down and turns off. I’ve checked the fuel pump and it is running good like it suppose to. I have replaced the throttle body, crank sensor, cam sensor. Basically, everything but still does the same thing. No one can seem to now what is going on. I wanted to see if with your experience you can help me with this issue? Thanks in advance for your help.

    2007 Colorado 5cyl.200k miles. been getting a 301 code cyl 1 misfire. I've changed the spark plugs, coils, fuel injector. all the connectors are getting juice. compression test good (haven't done a leak down). could the o2 sensor set off the cyl1 misfire? i would think that it would set off a misfire on all cylinders. any advice? also been having rough slow starts (mostly in the cold mornings)

      These engines are known to have head issues. You might have a bad head, or the timing belt is worn out.

    Yea mine is a 2012 double cab Colorado. I cant tell if I have a cracked manifold or blown gasket. How long does it take to get the cover off ?

      It takes about 10 minutes to pull the heat shield. Remove the air box and tube going to intake. Lots of room. I just found my manifold cracked on my 2012. It’s about $600 for a new one

    How difficult was it to weld that?

    • @AaronHinesAuto
      @AaronHinesAuto  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not too bad. You just have to be careful not to burn through the steel. Because it’s so thin. And the metal needs to be good and clean.

    • @hwwelds9050
      @hwwelds9050 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That one shouldn't have been a problem to weld because it is steel. I pulled mine off today in two pieces. It is cast iron. The OEM is cast iron. I'm thinking about going back with steel like is in the video. At least that way if there is a problem I can weld it up.

    Someone stole the expensive part of my exhaust manifold😢 I thought they only steal converters

    • @josephdemaria4527

      On the 1st gen Colorado's there's two cat converters one is located inside/attached to your manifold I believe so it would make sense why it got stolen
