I'll have no choice but to buy this as my original Sega Genesis is 25 years old and half of my games freeze because I never maintained the cartridges. I wish that Rocket Knight Adventures and X-Men 2 had been included in this.

The Sega Genesis is an easy thing to emulate. A Dreamcast mini? They'd have to remake the controllers, which would also have to have the little memory card. That by itself makes me think it wouldn't happen.
I currently have a "war museum" sitting on my shelf, a bunch of models of tanks, submarines, planes etc... But I own the NES-, Famicom- (Shonen Jump Edition), SNES-, Playstation 1- and Commodore 64 Classic and I want more so I might just have to get another shelf.

It's almost like IGN is a group of possibly hundreds of employees all with different opinions and not just a single entity. Just because a few people at IGN hate Sonic that doesn't mean everyone does, plus they've hired so many new people since then. And don't get me wrong, I love Sonic and think they were a bit out of line with that video, but you just have to let things like that go.

I’ve barely scratched the surface of the Genesis Mini cause there’s so many games to choose from but all I can say is great to get the nostalgic feel again!
I can do without the six button controller, but i definitely want some of the Asia/Europe games like Snow Bros and Alien Soldier. I hope i can get this M2 emulated versions of the games into the US Genesis Mini, otherwise i might end up buying the Asia version as well (different than the JP version).
Not anymore, because Nintendo supposed to be won in usa & japan, Nintendo lost the console war in both Europe/UK & Brazil as SEGA dominates the best global market in UK.
Sprite flicker was a method of making something transparent, it worked a lot better on a CRT as the flashing would be masked by the screen updating making an object look 50% transparent, it's also why some things are checkerboard because old crt's would give enough blur to hide the raw pixels giving the illusion of smoother shading. Not quite sure how the reviewer can say "holding the controller after all these years" but not understand how these old games and consoles functioned.
Still play my Sonic mega collection on my PS but this is giving me ton of memories....would definitely play Golden Axe again just for the theme music lol
Never got to play a sega Genesis as a kid so I pre ordered mine a few months ago and it shipped out today. Looking forward to adding it to my mini console line up. 😁👍
I will be playing Eternal Champions more than once, i loved that game as a kid! You can get cool finishing moves if the body falls on just the right spot, never seen another fighting game do it like that.
I hope this makes SEGA lots of money and helps fund future projects. I'll be buying my local PAL region, as well as the Japanese version - to collect and for the 6-button controllers.

At least the review touched on things like: i) How is the HDMI output compared to other options / origonal megadrive and upscalers ii) Can it play actual cartidges and does the emulation give any problems (VR racing etc...) iii) How is the sound? Sega SG still looks a better optino than this, but the price tag is just crazy on that thing......
Is the sound lag still present from the previews that were shown last month? The My Life in Gaming guys and Game Sack noted it, and I definitely heard it in those videos, too. If I'm not fooling myself, the jumping sounds seem delayed at the beginning of this video as well.
The big question now is, do you wait to buy it hoping it go on sale and not sold out OR do you buy it now and hope it dont go on sale and gets sold out
I still don't regret skipping the snes classic. I always felt that the sense classic was overpriced for what it was truly worth. But the original snes also had many epic titles as well.

So nice to Finally see ALISIA DRAGOON get some love, that game is amazing fun. Great ost and graphics and game play. Also Eternal Champions requires six buttons doesn't it so how do you play it ? do you have to press two buttons or something for different attacks ?

Transparency Effects on 4th Gen Machines were basically executed using a "Strobe" Effect.
