Hey, man. I have been wanting to get a flex fuel kit for my 2014 WRX hatch, but I'm hesitant to do so because I don't want all the crud buildup in the fuel system to get loosened up from the ethanol and sent back thru the lines. I don’t have much slop on my 16 WRX but when I shift into 3rd and get on the gas a little bit, it moves about an inch back towards neutral. What is the cause of that?

Great video and very helpful. For the solid shifter "bushings" do the 5 speed and 6 speed have same size? Currently have 5 speed but upgrading to 6 speed soon and dont want to buy them twice. Any help? Thanks
mmmmmmmm hell yeah brotha, my knob is also very stiff, important stuff. Even the misses is impressed by the stiffness..... of my car. For real tho once you start bushing swaps, its hard to stop.
Theres another bushing in the shifter itself. They can fail can cause your transmission to fail. I had mine go out last year or the year before. I thought it was the other bushings i replaced with kartboy stuff and i didnt know there was on in the shifter. Well two days later i hear a loud whine that went away when i moved the shifter slightly and when i pulled the cover off i found the bushing completely disintegrated. Ever since then ive had grinding and lock outs at wot.
@@Smeedia yeah I commented prior to seeing you mention it in the video. Still though that one will mess up your trans if it fails if the other ones are fine. I guess its similar to resting your hand on the shifter while driving. It will constantly put on the synchros
Can you fit the kartboy short shifter on its own and notice a difference? I only ask as they sell the short shifter separate or as a kit with bushings for under the car. I’m confident I can fit the short shifter but the bushings are out of my skill and tool set
Have you ever experienced slop coming from the shifter pivot bushings? I just got a Cobb short shifter and I thought it came with a new one like the kartboy did and the car has 215k on it
When I did the rear bushing I used Kartboy, and reinstalling the bolts couldnt have been more of s sketchy pain in the ass, i swear. It's like the bushing wasnt wide enough, so the bolts barely went into the threads on the chassis. I hope I never have to take it off again. And on top of that, after doing all of the shifter bushings I now have slop in the shifter, which is super annoying.
Those roll pins are annoying when you want to Install a short shifter, I had to cut my factory shifter with a grinder just to put the Boomba short shiter and the perrin stopper lol
