HRRyan2 it's easy for us fans to be pissed that a band isn't making similar music. But then, we aren't the ones that had to play a song 100 times before we got it right, rehearse it 100 times, then go on tour and play it 100 more times. This is why it doesn't bother me if a band changes style anymore.
In a recent interview Winston said that some but not ALL songs on Ire were influenced by Rage Against the Machine. He also said they still sound like Parkway (which they do), and that the fans will let them know if it "works". They didn't want to recycle material and produce the exact same music written in the same formats etc. I think many forget that bands are compiled of musicians and musicians are artists. Artists like to explore mediums.
Miranda Fox People are all complaining about the different sounds they are incorporating into the writing which sounds like to me as winston has said, taking elements of Atlas and pushing them way further out. The first song that this reminded me of a little bit off of Atlas was the slow surrender, albeit this song is slower overall. My guess is 1/2 or so of the album will be completely different stuff like the first two singles they have put out and the remaining 5 or so songs will have the more traditional feel, albeit, with a new spin. I am pretty sure Winston said in that last Interview with Impericon that the heavy stuff on here makes the heavy stuff on Deep Blue seem mild in comparison. If they wrote songs heavier than Leviathan I and Deadweight on here I am not sure people have much to complain about. Atlas took a while to really grow on me to appreciate it as well, which I imagine Ire will be in the same light.
Nick Ochoa Some people do not like change at all and I understand that. That being said I am very excited for Ire and like what has been released so far. Parkway is a diverse band and that keeps it interesting. Atlas has "The River" which really played with some new elements but I personally LOVED it. There are so many reasons to love Parkway! I have "Carrion" tattooed on my foot with my dead dogs pawprint - I'll be a fan for life.
+Nick Ochoa From what I've heard from Parkway Drive, I don't think Ire will top Deep Blue at all. That album was just fantastic from front to back (it had a couple meh songs but not meh enough to completely turn me off the album) and songs such as Karma and Sleepwalker are just unforgettable tracks.
Miranda Fox By far! Also songs such as Deliver Me and Hollow are very well written metalcore songs that truly define how great the sub-genre can sound. As much as I loved Vice Grip though, I'm not entirely sure how PWD is going to pull off one of the best metalcore albums of all time with Ire. But I'm seeing this band live on November so I'm really stoked to see them! :D
Is it MS? That's what I have and it can be brutal. There's times that I'm paralyzed from the waist down, or just have trouble walking in general. Music is one thing I use to help motivate myself though. PWD is a solid band to keep me going. I wish you luck on your journey, and you're not in whatever it is alone
I am big into Killswitch, Trivium, All That Remains, ABR.. and that... how the hell have I never got into these guys?!?! This song and this band are soooo fucking awesome!!!!! Especially when they have a lot of positive messages in their music like Killswitch, this suits me perfectly!
“If you can’t see the chains tell me what use is a key” and “bang bang bang hear them nailing down the coffins” are just amazing lines to me for some reason, the way they hit them in I love it
Well, I've never listened to Parkway Drive before (heard of them but never cared to listen to any of their songs). All I've got to say is this - HOLY SHIT! This song made my fucking head explode! FUCKING LOVE IT!!
+Benz Skyes I'll definitely check it out. But so far this song is appearing to be the perfect one for me. It's like it was written for me. It has everything I love in music. I'm definitely sorry I didn't check it out earlier. This gives me such an energy boost while I listen to it. Very powerful song.
+Borislav Ignatov yaa ikr , that give Metalcore alive , but many of their fan don't love this album because PWD lack with power guitar riffs, heavy breakdown and good storytelling lyricism in this album. Ps : my grammar is bad brother xD
For me , breaking point, the river, carrion, home for heartless, wild eyes, dark days is my fav but the ending part of Romance is dead is epic :)) You should check they documentary , that inspire people a lot. They live also insane.
+Benz Skyes I will for sure. I don't know why fans don't like this album. I haven't listened to the whole thing, but from what I heard, it's pretty good. Crushed and A Deathless Song are my favorites so far. And yeah, the latter is the last song on the album, but I've listened to it on random. :D I've checked out a few of their older songs now, and I have to say, they are pretty good, but I hear more quality in 'Ire'. I don't know, maybe it's just me.
Some of the sickest lyrics and the voice behind them is absolutely powerful and vicious... This is my second favorite of all time only fallowing Corey Taylor
Haven't seen a more awesome band live . It was a small venue in Greece , they were so fun , likeable and made the experience so amazing ! It felt like they were having the same fun as the audience ! Wish I could see them again live !
Winston is a nice guy for sure. I met him many years ago at a show in Washington and at the time no one at the show seemed to know who they were outside of me and two friends I was with. We were going ape shit during their set with basically no one there it was a blast. Nine months later they were headlining Warped Tour. It was crazy to see how quickly they blew up. Sad to see how bad their past two albums have been with the Five Finger Death Punch sound they've adopted.
Been watching over and over, when does it happen? hahaha, never been lucky enough to meet them, happy as a pig in shit to hear they are good people irl
Saw these guys live last night in Sydney horden pavilion and I'm still high from it 😃 When they performed this song the drummer was in a massive wheel spinning around upside down while playing it was hectic! And flames on the stage 🔥 show was lit
I keep listening to music that inspires me tonight, inspires me to go after my dream of being a musician. The odds are against me but my will is there. Fuck. The. Odds.
SuzuRyderHD Dude Im the same I want to be a musician but I have no talent to have to work on it. I can't sing worth a shit but I've been looking into learning Death Metal vocals. I also play a little bass but I suck ass.
SuzuRyderHD keep trying bro. My cousin at the moment is doing okay in the local Scene where I am at. It's just a matter of time still he goes big. Hopefully. My cousin has been in multiple bands and he's slowly joined better ones.
keep going mate, these guys worked their ass off in Australia to get a go on the big stage. These boys toured around in the back of a van for ages playing anywhere that would let them
Well, I think I'm about ready to completely disassociate myself from metal, hardcore, and alternative fans in general. I mean, for fucks sake man...this song might be one of the most incredible tracks I've ever heard by PD and I've been listening to them for five years. You're telling me you don't like it because it doesn't sound like they're old shit or because it's slow? Seriously, that's gotta be the lamest fucking reason to dislike this song, their slow, heavy, droned out songs are some of the best! Not everything has to be just breakdowns, blast beats and fast riffs I've literally never heard anything quite like this and I'm absolutely ecstatic to hear more from this album \m/
well said mate. ppl who expect bands to stay in their box and flog a generic sound is just sad. ive been with PD since killing with a smile, ive never disliked a single song they have made so i might be bias but i love the direction they are headed.
It's nice to see them expand their horizons in sound while still being badass and having catchy guitar work as always. Also I'm straight as fuck but Winston is a really handsome dude. I think I have a mancrush on him.
1:45 to 1:57 Its weird how in only 12seconds its better than any other part of any other song ever in the history of everything. Also lets just note that these are some the manliest looking dudes in metal.
+Robert Clarke This whole album has massive influence from a whole range of Metal stuff from the 80's and 90's :) Throughout the album I can hear elements of Iron Maiden, Rage Against The Machine, Sepultura, Hatebreed and other bands. Such a great and musically diverse release.
I would say before saying you dislike a genre you should dig more into it most good metalcore bands are badass.Eg Kse but if you dislike it again then yeah not for you.Just saying dig in each genre hides good bands
Thanks I tried cleaning my house while listening to this, ended up throwing the dishwasher out of the window, all the chairs are broken! I can't find my keys *HOW DID MY FRIDGE GET UPSTAIRS?*
I ordered what I thought was a Panic! At The Disco t- shirt online the other day. My mistake, it's a Parkway Drive t- shirt, but thank god, because otherwise I would never have gotten into these guys.
Seth Castillo Yep as i said im not really into it but i dont hate it. i like all genres of music, grew up in the 60-70's now i like Dubstep go figurre :)
Casey Wagner - me too, I'd show you my collection if I could, I've got everything from five finger death punch, three doors down, breaking Benjamin, 3 days grace, linkin park, rise against, disturbed, slipknot and so much more
New car, SiriusXM came with. Liquid metal made us best friends. This song fucking rocks. I listen to it every day on my way to work just to set the mood.
I HATED this band.... until they were on the bill for a concert I HAD to see. NOW, after seeing them live....gahdamn. SO SO GOOD. The energy on stage is unparalleled. And they sound better live than recorded! Only truly talented artists are capable of this.
Chevelle was my go to for so many years. never could wear it out. Now parkway drive is being played in so many peoples playlists because I showed them and they can't be denied. SUPER TALENT
nick giordano no,it doesn't. If all did, industry would change them, like everything else We'd end up with a pop song, something like b.v.b's....all bitches.
This song will always have a spot in my heart even though I am not a huge fan of Parkway Drive. My best friend loved this song, he would always crank it when it came up on Sirius XM. He took his own life a few years ago. Every time I hear this song all the memories I have with him come flooding back.
I can't tell if people genuinely like this or if it's just that people love this band so deeply the can't say anything bad about it. Sorry but I didn't hear a single interesting riff here. I dig the message and the video but this song bored me to tears. Bring the hate.
Jorge Garcia Gomez I'd agree if there weren't so many pauses in the guitar where Winston just kinda talks. There's already lots of bands that do this type of thing better, never really desired this from PWD. Guess I'll have to wait for the rest of the album but as of now I'm not very excited.
You know that feeling you get when you first hear a song and a little voice in your head says: "This is going to be fucking good!" Personally I had a lazy hatred for parkway Drive, friend suggested I give this song a listen, that first "Brothers, my brothers...Bang! Bang! Bang!..." all past grievances disappeared. Right song, right time? Music has so much power. Much love my brothers and sisters
First song i ever heard from this band was Crushed. Back then I could barely understand the chorus of this, let alone their older albums. The sheer power and badassery of the instrumentals hooked me, then when i "got used" too the lyrics and understood how rich their songs really were i was a PWD fan for life.
Dark days and sleepwalker personaly held that title but i just heard this song for the first time and after way to long! i think i will have to agree with you but i will give it a few more listens to make sure I'm not jumping the gun
This is so just completely outstandingly good. Like as I listen to this, I get that overwhelming rush of emotions that you just cant help but headbang to. This is, without doubt, my favorite song.
Both the lyrics and the music sounds better tan ever. I love bands that deliver good messages.
+Armando Pérez Than*
This is my first parkway drive song...and damn

kmacwills omg watch the boneyards video by them. And the whole horizons album is so good

Agreed. Saw them at Wacken open air last year, i can still feel the flames.
They’re amazing live. Saw them at south side ballroom Dallas Texas. I was hella pregnant and about to pop but was still head banging to every song.
Was my favorite from their set at louder than life. Drummer was strapped into a ring and was playing upside down. Their pyrotechnics were sick too.

+ChaoticWolf0100 FINALLY!! 2 Weeks later haha
amen
+James Holmes thought the same exact thing. both awesome.
its cus they copied it lol
My most favorite song by Parkway Drive it goes so hard and definitely gives you that old ancient feeling.
Why are people complaining about this band? This shit is great!
Wade k 21 because people are entitled cunts! lol
You're f***ing right 👍
Apparently the earlier albums featured no clean vocals at all so the screamo idiots want that back
Because everyone has their own opinions ?

New car, SiriusXM came with. Liquid metal made us best friends. This song fucking rocks. I listen to it every day on my way to work just to set the mood.
I HATED this band.... until they were on the bill for a concert I HAD to see. NOW, after seeing them live....gahdamn. SO SO GOOD. The energy on stage is unparalleled. And they sound better live than recorded! Only truly talented artists are capable of this.
fuck that
I'm curious, why did you hate them? I just saw them live last night in the states and this song was by far my favorite that they performed.
I saw them in Sayreville and effing loved them :3
That's the way I was with Primus. I couldn't get into their stuff recorded but they opened for slayer in Omaha and it was awesome
First time tonight, I must say I agree
"Can you seek a higher Truth ... When you're living on your knees ?" - One of the most powerful sentences i've ever heard.
Krasse Videoidee, hat ein bisschen gedauert bis ich es gerafft habe :D
🤣🤣
ehre alla wo man dich so überal findet
Vor 5 Jahren... Er versteckt sich in den Kommentaren 🙋
No idea but I just saved 11 kittens from a burning building while listening to this track
Damn, hab dich hier nicht erwartet
This song is the most relevant song I've heard for the current time....
This is simply amazing
"Crushed by the fists of God!" That might just be the most Metal chorus ever!
this song makes me want to tear down a house with my bare hands
It's gotta be the best song out of their new album.
hahah
+Se7en easily it's epic live and on cd
Yeah like maybe the white house lol.
+dhardy213 well it is a house

Chevelle was my go to for so many years. never could wear it out. Now parkway drive is being played in so many peoples playlists because I showed them and they can't be denied. SUPER TALENT
It sucks these amazing lyrics will never be heard by the masses
nick giordano because, when your not used to it, you can't understand one fricking word
we are the masses
Ten million views is pretty fucking high.
nick giordano no,it doesn't. If all did, industry would change them, like everything else
We'd end up with a pop song, something like b.v.b's....all bitches.
legit
I never hear these kind of songs but today I felt really bad but when I heard this song I gained the power to move mountains.
HELL YEAH BABY!
Bring back the old Parkway
Man where have these guys been my whole life?? I’m so late to the party! Praying for a US tour
They did one a few years ago
The intro to the video had me thinking Born of Parkway Drive for a second.
Agreed. By the way, thanks for all the O&A videos! You're a legend
NotLogan HighestPrimate TOTALLY AGREE WITH THAT
Maybe also between the parkway and drive haha

So much relevance in this song right now.
Josh Varga Same opinion.
Josh Varga it is all about the groove and atmosphere for this one, 11/10
Jorge Garcia Gomez I'd agree if there weren't so many pauses in the guitar where Winston just kinda talks. There's already lots of bands that do this type of thing better, never really desired this from PWD. Guess I'll have to wait for the rest of the album but as of now I'm not very excited.
Josh Varga Listen to Sepultura's Attitude and you'll know why I love this song riff wise.
+Josh Varga Same here, still waiting for technical shit
You know that feeling you get when you first hear a song and a little voice in your head says: "This is going to be fucking good!"
Personally I had a lazy hatred for parkway Drive, friend suggested I give this song a listen, that first "Brothers, my brothers...Bang! Bang! Bang!..." all past grievances disappeared. Right song, right time? Music has so much power.
Much love my brothers and sisters
These screams/growls are pure power!👍
CRUSSSHED BY THE FISSSTS OF MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
+Jesus Christ Don't lie Jesus... you're not a god
I died for your sins and crushed myself. Don't hate on me bro.
+Jesus Christ u sanity boss.jesus
+Pink guy I was messing around, calm down buddy
Johnathan LeBlanc I'm joking as well.
1:32 drummer is thinking, that is a pretty interesting looking ceiling
I won't lie that ventilation grill looked sick af.
I'm still wondering how much this music video cost to produce.
A lot.
how about vice grip? lol
Bitten_By_Frost h00 give s a fuck there mad
Not much. Have you seen what some film students can do with just a couple of thousand dollars?
$666.
Just a guess, though.
These guys cross the divide from metal core to main stream rock the riffs are unbelievable love them
Some absolutely brutal lows from Winston.
that beginning was fucking epic
endzeit from heaven shall burn
The drop at the beginner is so damn powerful.
First song i ever heard from this band was Crushed. Back then I could barely understand the chorus of this, let alone their older albums. The sheer power and badassery of the instrumentals hooked me, then when i "got used" too the lyrics and understood how rich their songs really were i was a PWD fan for life.
This is my favorite song by them.
Dark days and sleepwalker personaly held that title but i just heard this song for the first time and after way to long! i think i will have to agree with you but i will give it a few more listens to make sure I'm not jumping the gun
Brutal. Just...brutal. Well played. The chorus is just angry I love it.
Everyone in the world needs to listen to this and wake the fuck up seriously
Beautyfull ❤️❤️❤️❤️
still goes hard in 2020, cant wait to see these guys live again in june
Been a fan since Horizons came out, and this is one of my favorite! Gets me pumped to just get through life. Cheers boys!
Who thought Born of Osiris at the very beginning of this video?
I did haha
+Yeye Senpai I did!!!! hahaha
+Yeye Senpai Born of Pretentious
+Yeye Senpai i didn't, until now xD
This is so just completely outstandingly good. Like as I listen to this, I get that overwhelming rush of emotions that you just cant help but headbang to. This is, without doubt, my favorite song.
I'm starting to love this band
