Some people have therapists..some people have hobbies..some people have loved ones who understand to go to when things are at a boiling point...for the rest of us..the metal shares our pain and gives it a way out.

I always have friends ask me "oh but doesnt it make you angrier literally getting screamed at" and I usually say - well no, I internally am screaming along and the music acts as a catalyst for anger to leave me

Konstantin Stepanov I agree 100%. Metal music helps release all that pent up emotion inside and allows a person some relief. Ask many people which music makes them more angry...metal music or elevator music and I’ll bet elevator music is the top answer lol.

This song is raw emotion. That is what I love. It is a truly emotional representation of the anger phase of agonizing grief (in this case I assume over the loss of loved ones).

    • @YeahDewd
      @YeahDewd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

The whole album was written with the death of Tom Searle of Architects at heart.

@@YeahDewd For some reason, it carries an atmosphere about it that transcends merely being another screamo song. It is more like to the music in an emotional play or musical, for a scene in which the protagonist is showing raw grief and emotion over that loss. It is a truly well done song, and this is coming from a guy who loves the more non mainstream bands like Primus, Tool, Porcupine Tree, and Opeth, to name a few.

People think this video clip is shit, however it perfectly sums up the meaning of the actual song. The song is about losing someone you love and trying to cope with it by blaming someone else. The video focuses on his facial expression to highlight the anger & depression when losing someone...This is banger and a half

I think of it like this if you keep him in your heart, you two will never be apart because in a way he will always be a part of each other our fathers live on through us. Stay safe and have a happy new year.

It's interesting how people who obviously never needed to cope with serious problems think this video is bad.
You need to feel that.. If you ever were at the point of almost feeling insane cause of anger or depression, you can relate to this song!
Feel the lyrics and you feel the video.
But that's just my two cents. It's not everyones taste, but saying it's shit is just... not relating to those feelings!

I was born in a super heavy christian family and I always had my doubts. I always saw the major flaws in most religions. What really drove it home was when my mother died when I was 16. When I hear this song, it reminds me of the anger and hate I had as a kid. Its honestly one of my favorite songs despite this album sounding different than their old sound

This is just Winston letting out his depression from close people and family members passing away! Gotta give it up to him man I know it’s tough losing people in life and this was his outlet. I will never forget the first time I really heard this song. I hadn't ever just sat and listened to it. I thought I was going to literally cry my eyes out. This song reached out to me and told me that it's ok for me to be angry, to hurt, to be mad at a God I was questioning the existence of, to want to just feel pain and fear and anger. I'm very certain this song not only helped me stay alive but to also pull myself out of a 2 year long drug relapse after being clean for several years.
A selfish ass drinking and driving drunk bitch stole my Captain from me a few years ago. He was my best fuckin friend. He was my ride or die partner in crime turned clean but still ride or dies friend.
I've been angry at the Gods, demons, Angels, even the Tooth fairy a few times since he's been gone. Angry and scared. This song showed me that it's ok

This is their hardest song since "Dead man's chest" in my opinion, the instruments aren't as simple as older PWD, I actually prefer the simple brutality. But, PWD is one of the ONLY bands that I have ever seen actually change their sound, and yet still stay true to their "sound" I still know 100% that THIS is PWD! old sound, new sound, all their shit is a fucking masterpiece. True artists.

Totally agree! Love PwD still but I get annoyed when people think their new stuff is better...like my brother always ripped on me for liking metalcore and now he loves their new stuff. But everyone has their opinions. Their early shit just goes so hard, "Killing with a Smile", "Horizons", to me it's impossible for them to surpass those simply because their sound is more complex now. The raw brutality of their early stuff, even "Don't Close Your Eyes", it's just so thrashable.

Another masterpiece. Please don't listen to the stuck in the past haters. Evolve. Yes. We all age. Parkway is aging very well!!

After the passing of my Oldest son..... and the death of my wife who battled Cancer 5 times.... this is how i feel EVERYDAY..... Thank you Parkway Drive for my sanity. This song allows me to focus my hate and anger at the world in this song instead of Humanity....
