Been listening to you guys since I was 16. I’m 31 now. Saw you live when I was in high school. “Parkway Drive” also was my senior quote under my photo in the yearbook. I did reports on you for multiple classes in multiple grades. You were also in my “senior project”. Lastly… my father has a friend in Byron Bay. So we asked him to take a photo of Parkway Drive and he sent it to me. I had it blown up and framed. This was probably 10 years ago. I still have it despite moving like 7 times. MORAL OF THE STORY: I’m a huge fan. Huge huge.
Found parkway when I was 12, I'm 26 now, heard them al thru middle school high school then thru addiction and recovery now as a married man when they released reverence I was lost and struggling with God now I'm a committed Christian and I have a 4 month old baby boy. Life is wild, parkway drive have been there for me thru everything I've been thru
This is THE surprise of the album for me. Absolutely beautiful song. The build up is insane! When the shred guitar hits, goosebumps every, single, time.

The NRL used it darker still for promoting grand final, and parkway drive performed the greatest fear for alliance stadium grand opening and rooster do or die first game and rooster lost. How good are these dudes! I'm 70 and have just found them due to Australian Story last night. Been playing all my life, but this is exactly what I wish I had done in my music. It exciting, clever and done with a precision that is just exquisite. Just hits me right in the chest. Best Aussie music export ever.
I'm from Canada and I can say this is absolutely one of the top 5 metal bands in the world... in terms of creativity and diversity. Absolutely no fear to try something new and owning it all.
To think this piece of music may have never been created for the world to hear had these five guys not sacrificed the things they did & go as far as therapy in order to stay together, & to have never had the supernatural experience of hearing it live... I can't imagine this not existing. Amongst all other things over the last 20 odd years, for this alone, thank you.
This is their Magnum Opus. An absolute masterpiece. The nods to Stairway to Heaven at the beginning are perfect. The guitar solos are amazing. It's not often I get tears from a song, but this made me cry. Good job guys.
This is their legacy song. It's so bloody beautiful. Watching Australian Story the other night, you can feel the pain in this song of what the boys were going through... thank God they saved their friendship, but this is their legacy and a song they'll be remembered for.
I felt the exact same way. This is a tune you can whistle all day. It's an anthem. By far my favourite Parkway drive song. The change of pace threw me for a loop and its a lasso type of loop that's got me tied to this song 🔥
This song brings this 37 year old man to tears. I lost my friend Alan 3 years ago to colon cancer. He was building acres in the sky ready for his arrival, the night grew darker still when there was no hope of surviving his condition. Along with the beautifully crafted music, it's not hard to be driven to emotions. RIP my brother
I was blasting this with my dad today in the car and he was like “what band is this? they are really cool” and it was such a surprise to me because if he would have heard their first albums such as killing with a smile or deep blue he would’ve asked me to change the music. this really shows how much these guys matured and grew over the years. awesome track right here
The whistle gets me...can go all day with it in my head and not worry, because i know once i get in the car to leave i can crank it to the max. A masterpiece of our time....i love the versatility. Almost to the point of not being surprised with how awesome they really are. Blessed to witness.
When Winston started singing, a weird feeling went through my body and stayed in my chest. But not a bad weird, a good weird. Its just so... I don't even know, words cant even explain... All i can say is thankyou Parkway.. thankyou for this piece of art.. 😍😍😍

I can’t stop listening to this song. It’s an absolute epic. All truly great bands have a song that sends chills down your spine. Chronos did that for me on Reverence but this eclipses that and then some. Something about that solo and Winstons lyrics and vocal delivery brings tears to my eyes. It’s a beautifully sad song. I think I want this played at my funeral.
I love when heavy bands display a more intimate/vulnerable side like this. Done once in a while I feel it helps you feel a bit more connected to the guys
Parkway Drive just keep getting better and better, I can't think of a bad Parkway song, they're all amazing and honestly, they're proving they can still stay heavy as fuck whilst coming out with songs like this, Winston is doing an awesome job, he's actually an awesome singer!
He really does holy shit. His soft singing voice doesn’t match his screaming at all! And I mean that in the best way possible. Reminds me of when we all heard Phil Bozeman start singing. Never thought i’d hear that growing up listening to those bands. They are clearly super devoted to their craft. This song is the best song I’ve heard in a very long time.
@Jolin Alexander didn't say it was country but it deffinitely has that vibe his cleans are some basic barelymoe than speaking words kinda vocals doesnt seem all that skillful or difficult I just dont care for them going this direction whitchaple has done similar with the cleans and it just kinda sounds like breaking Benjamin papa roach kinda over generic radio butt rock too me personally idk its like if your gonna be a death metal or death core band the last thing I want to hear is clean vocals like sure be creative express yourself but this just kinda feels sell outy to me
I'm not sure why but the break at 3:44 and some of the twirly guitar riffs that follow absolutely remind me of classic GnR and it absolutely fits perfectly into the song.
Well done on ageing like a fine wine lads. In this decade you’re the only band to rep Aussies in your way and the best way. Doing it on your terms and the world listens. Keep up the great work!

I wish there was a global tally of how many times people have listened to this track since release… I know for a fact I’ve listened to it over 500 times. No song has impacted me as hard as this has the past few years. Just perfect parkway. Honestly. Brings me close to tears it’s that powerful sonically & emotionally. CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS MASTERPIECE LIVE!!!!! With you Parkway, UNTIL I DIE!!
I know a lot of people understandably rag on them for leaving behind their early sound BUT the guitar work here is so good you can’t really rip on these guys. Might not be “heavy” by today’s standards but the throwback sound is pretty dope. I welcome this style from having years of ear fatigue of hearing the same stuff over and over. I do still hope there’s a super heavy track hiding on the album but ya gotta take off the metalcore glasses and respect the musicianship here.
Literally some of the most basic chord progression and drum work you could put on a ballad... not asking for Opeth levels of acoustic but this is more like Death Punch then anything
Just discovered this band, this song. What a masterpiece! Wow... To whom it matters--please, just keep going. My wife has end stage renal disease and does daily dialysis (she will die if she stops dialyzing); I recently lost my job. Things are so hard for us right now, yet on we press. We just never know what lies ahead of us, so, please... just keep going.
This is amazing stuff guys, Jeff gets better and better with each album, good to see Winston using more cleans, goes really well with the music. Cannot wait for my CD to arrive.
Thank you for still having awesome guitar solos, whem majority of metal bands completely dropped them in favor of breakdowns. Seriously, thank you. Great song and great solo, just like in Greatest Fear

This new album is awesome, and your performance at Hellfest 2023 was mind-blowing, I'll keep it in my mind and my heart forever. Thanks
If you believe blokes as creative as these, will want to keep playing the same style of metalcore they did when they were teenagers, after 40, you're kidding yourself. Go listen to the older albums and let us enjoy this masterpiece.
I'm glad when bands grow. It means they're going to stay alive. I'd rather keep getting new, albeit different albums, then stop getting albums. I'm all for it. Love these guys. Saw them in NY years ago. I was 6 feet from Winston. Soooo sick live. I couldn't hear myself for a week but it was 100% worth it!!!
There's a difference between growing and completely alienating the fans they got them to where they are in the first place. Now they just sound like a mix because ffdp and Johnny cash
Absolutely love how they build the suspense up in the song. And then let it go. Reminds me a lot of tool. It's not get that confused two different bands. Love Parkway Drive

Listening to PWD for 10 years... saw them live last weekend... all band members are gifted with alien talent not from this world. And this song is soooo beautiful, that I cannot get it and their Live-Performance of it out of my head.
I've been waiting for this song since the first time I heard "it's hard to speak without a tongue". I always knew, if someone was gonna write a new Nothing Else Matters, it would be Parkway. Bout time boys!!
Yep, since accepting the fact we're never going to get another Horizons, Atlas etc. I've really started to enjoy this new era PWD. Very easy listening, super enjoyable
When you listen to this expecting not to hear a new Boneyards or Romance is Dead, it hits just perfectly as a nice ballad with beautiful instrumentals. This has probably been my favourite of the 3 singles.
It just pisses me off when people just want a band to keep just doing the same old stuff over and over again. The purpose of an artist is to evolve their art
I have always loved parkway drive. Since there first album all the way to now. I pre ordered the gold vinyl of this album btw. But I don't want them to get lazy and just mash together old classics. I only criticize because they ate one of my favorite bands of all time and want them to be great.
This sums it up pretty well. It's almost like A Deathless Song but more emphasis on acoustics, which I dig. It seems like melodic metal bands out there need to have a softer tone to even things out from the aggressive/heavy stuff. Since Parkway's switched to this melodic metal direction, I've always said that they should take some influences from the band Insomnium...aggressive, yet when they want to go softer, it sounds like it fits the mould and isn't forced. Downside to this song was the vocals, autotune was way to noticeable for my liking.
I had no choice. I shared this song. This song has been one of my favorites since it came out. I'm 44 and still listen. But I have more of a reason to listen now more than ever.
Did you come across this accidentally or what ? ?!!! . " Awesome dudes" ; "melodic and interesting "! Is this how you summarise your essay! ??? Let's not insult us puritons now shall we ???
I Love that you fellas are experimenting further. Ignore the haters. They complain about change but would be the first to bitch about repetitiveness too. Every single album you have released has been gold and I still regularly listen to each of them. Please come back to Brisbane 🙏🏻
My first album from them was Atlas which I love, then came Ire, which I loved equally. Reverence wasn't a let down for me, but it's not something I can always listen to. I'm not really digging any of the new songs, hopefully there will be some on the album, but I'm okay with chance. One of my favourite bands is Enter Shikari, they are changing drastically each album and I loved each one of them. Those comments you are referring to are under most videos from big bands. Just as there are comments like yours under those.
Watched them live a couple weeks ago. Didn't know many of their songs, but when they dimmed the lights and a trio of strings started playing the intro for this song, the guitar slowly comming in, then the bass, the vocals... It was amazing. And right after, they played Wild Eyes. Insane performance

The intro reminds of Strength Of The World by A7X
Reminded me of True Detective Season 1 theme for some reason lol
@@funsimulator7246 Dude, my mate in the office said the same thing! haha
@@johnmandude it's a sick show too. One of the best crime dramas I've seen
Parkway Drive just keep getting better and better, I can't think of a bad Parkway song, they're all amazing and honestly, they're proving they can still stay heavy as fuck whilst coming out with songs like this, Winston is doing an awesome job, he's actually an awesome singer!
Definitely agree man by far tied for first or is first in my opinion
I can't believe I just found this band today, I have been missing out, these guys can't make a bad album !
Man..... you've been missing out!!
Be prepared, there is very much to be discovered for you.
Winston has really good clean vocals, i'm happy to see he's using them more in this album. Can't wait for it to be released
I feel like he's just talking
He really does holy shit. His soft singing voice doesn’t match his screaming at all! And I mean that in the best way possible. Reminds me of when we all heard Phil Bozeman start singing. Never thought i’d hear that growing up listening to those bands. They are clearly super devoted to their craft. This song is the best song I’ve heard in a very long time.
@@nickkrueger11 1st band i thought of upon hearing this was Whitechapel!
He does not have a good singing voice. It's called studio magic and a lot is being used on his voice.
@Jolin Alexander didn't say it was country but it deffinitely has that vibe his cleans are some basic barelymoe than speaking words kinda vocals doesnt seem all that skillful or difficult I just dont care for them going this direction whitchaple has done similar with the cleans and it just kinda sounds like breaking Benjamin papa roach kinda over generic radio butt rock too me personally idk its like if your gonna be a death metal or death core band the last thing I want to hear is clean vocals like sure be creative express yourself but this just kinda feels sell outy to me
I don’t think I’ve ever had a band make me feel the music like these guys do. They always take me there! They’re one of my all-time favorites
I'm not sure why but the break at 3:44 and some of the twirly guitar riffs that follow absolutely remind me of classic GnR and it absolutely fits perfectly into the song.
This is what we called great Music which touch your emotion and soul no matter how many times you listened to it.
Well done on ageing like a fine wine lads. In this decade you’re the only band to rep Aussies in your way and the best way. Doing it on your terms and the world listens.
Keep up the great work!
They represent the best metal has to offer since their first song!
Bro, Polaris > PWD. All day, everyday. Not saying PWD is bad, i'm a big fan but they are def NOT the best band that rep Australia.
@@ricklubbers7761 sorry to burst yo bubble, but music is subjective... if in his world pwd are better... then they just are.. and he/she will enjoy it so 😘
@@TheKiwicheese And some people still listen to KISS, doesn't make them a good band. Your logic is flawed and this is hot garbage.

Hands down the best single so far, beautiful quite honestly
Ohhhh the guitar after that first deep darker still was just 😍
This is a masterpiece! I can’t stop listening to it over and over!
I wish there was a global tally of how many times people have listened to this track since release…
I know for a fact I’ve listened to it over 500 times.
Epic, I'm obsessed. Give us more!!
Hands down, the best music composition I've ever spectrum analyzed. I got chills. The Choir and Brass in the second half is incredible.
Fuck yea
Just listen to master of puppets
couldn't be said better
Literally some of the most basic chord progression and drum work you could put on a ballad... not asking for Opeth levels of acoustic but this is more like Death Punch then anything
i love it moved in the right direction if you want to be mainstream.
This is simply beautiful.
I don’t care what anyone says, PWD has released 3 solid singles! I seriously cannot wait for their new record to drop!
Pls don’t convince yourself they are still good… They are dead years ago and these songs confirm this. Their riffs are 3 power chords now …. Rip PD
Btw those aren’t single, they just release song in the album one by one

Thank you for still having awesome guitar solos, whem majority of metal bands completely dropped them in favor of breakdowns. Seriously, thank you. Great song and great solo, just like in Greatest Fear
Then you listen to the wrong bands...
@@clem_chret Well, yes and no, I gave up on modern metalcore/deathcore

Discovered you guys at Hellfest 2014 first time, since then I listen your songs all the time.
True!
Rip PARKWAY, they died and we mourn the loss. This new band is Five Finger Butt Munch, if you like that... well then, good for you. Wuss rock 🤘🤣🤘
I guess? I've been doing that. Not upset they didn't, but I have? Were all different:)
There's a difference between growing and completely alienating the fans they got them to where they are in the first place. Now they just sound like a mix because ffdp and Johnny cash
This song is a absolut masterpiece.
Okay that was really sick. I may not have loved everything you have released lately, but this was amazing.
This song is 🔥 been on repeat since the day you dropped it
Absolutely love how they build the suspense up in the song.

Interesting 😂
Yep, since accepting the fact we're never going to get another Horizons, Atlas etc. I've really started to enjoy this new era PWD. Very easy listening, super enjoyable
It’s hard to speak without a tongue is definitely the best tune from the first album
When you listen to this expecting not to hear a new Boneyards or Romance is Dead, it hits just perfectly as a nice ballad with beautiful instrumentals. This has probably been my favourite of the 3 singles.
The intro is stairway to heaven without a doubt. And it has nothing else matters and feelings of house of the rising sun
It seems like melodic metal bands out there need to have a softer tone
to even things out from the aggressive/heavy stuff. Since Parkway's switched to this melodic metal direction, I've always said that they should take some influences from the band Insomnium...aggressive, yet when they want to go softer, it sounds like it fits the mould and isn't forced. Downside to this song was the vocals, autotune was way to noticeable for my liking.
I expected to hear Metallica - But shit Metallica. I wasn't disappointed
I had no choice. I shared this song. This song has been one of my favorites since it came out. I'm 44 and still listen. But I have more of a reason to listen now more than ever.
What the hell I'm doing here? I accidentally clicked this...and I never regret listen to this beautiful creation 🖤
Hands down - this is a masterpiece. Instant classic.

Easily the best song so far out of their singles. They aren't pretending to be heavy here, they're letting themselves make beautiful music.
Watched them live a couple weeks ago. Didn't know many of their songs, but when they dimmed the lights and a trio of strings started playing the intro for this song, the guitar slowly comming in, then the bass, the vocals... It was amazing. And right after, they played Wild Eyes. Insane performance
