isn't it amazing how when great gifted players and teachers try to pass on their knowledge and experience which is probably the greatest gift a human being can bestow upon others, they are met with such a negative wave of ingratitude. I am talking about all the negative thumb downs. I am honoured to see this man and yet ashamed of my fellow guitarists, their jealousy and ignorance. very sad indeed. Well done to those who appreciated and had respect. Manners and respect.. 2 of the most beautiful things imaginable... along with magnificent teachers like this guy.
You are absolutely right!!
Well said. He is basically sharing his knowledge for free. Why anyone would be negative is so childish. Without artists like Del Monte and dozens of others on TH-cam I would have had a much more difficult time learning some of the core basics that all beginners need and sometimes don’t have access to.
I think the reason why there are so many dislikes above is because he never broke out with the "speedy jams," at the end. They're Dissapointed! The truth is that it was an excellent and informative lesson.
*OUTSTANDING* , I have watched and learned from other great YT teachers and talent of the classical guitar But yours is truly *OUTSTANDING!!!*
Thanks, Adam! This is much more useful than the "here's my way, and it's the only right way" universal teaching method. You cover aspects that no one else is talking about. Thanks for your wisdom, and intelligence beyond guitar playing.
Dear Adam del Monte,
I play the guitar for almost forty years now and give concerts and guitar lessons for about thirty years....
And may I say, that this lesson is very useful and very good to learn and to reflect.
Not only for beginners, but also for professional players, to think about the elementary basics, they sometimes have forgotten on their way...
So thank you very much and take care

Excellent video. Adam is a very good teacher. He always puts the stress on details that are very important when you aim at accuracy and pureness of sound.
After a weeks of doing this tips I improve a lot. Thnk you so much..
Thank you for this lesson, particularly the part about playing many notes in one motion. This has not only helped my guitar playing but my piano playing as well!
Outstanding description of good right hand tech. Remember as he says, quality first, the speed will come. Bravo!!
Thanks for your meticulous attention to details. Best way to learn anything.
Hey, I just want you to know that I am only 4 minutes in and I am overwhelmed at your gift of teaching. I totally understand every concept and how you iterate it.

Thank you so much Adam. Fascinating insight into this technique.
Impressive technique! I've always been fascinated by Flamenco - good job on this one.
Thank you sir for this amazing tutorial
great lesson. Thanks a million!
Thank you very much, your lesson is very helpful and detailed
One of the best extercises on youtube about speed, thx!
It's all about what works for you and what sound you want. Adam also plays classical guitar and holding his hand in this position gives him more tone options. I think this is a great video.
Thanks Adam, very helpful video. I've always struggled to play quickly, I've been trying your open string triplet exercise and it has paid off.
Good stuff Adam; thanks for such a detailed explanation.
This video really really helped me as an advanced person in guitar Thanks your vdeos are really awesme

Adam Del Monte provides a wealth of practical insights here into developing a relaxed base for your single note guitar playing.
Adam Thanks..am From Mauritius, did Two Years Classical, and I hope to follow what you SAid, Flamenco is learned by watching another Guitar Player,,Flamenco..
maestro,fine technique,clear,better than any one.
same with classical.
I think this instruction was very helpful, clear and to the point. The job
of becoming a flamenco guitarist over many years must be done by the student.
Segovia said, "Ultimately we are all self-taught," meaning, it's what happens between the lessons that makes the difference.
Nicely explained Adam - Greetings from London UK
Again, Thank you.
Wow..you are flamenco genius teacher!
I learned how to play by ear. So from the brain to the tip of the fingers I have to really focus and unlearn backwards technique. I going to do theses exercises . Thank you for sharing.
i came here back to thank you for your tips.. they helped me a lot.. i had speed up my guitar playing.
haters are hating in fact themselfs, thats about negative comments here..
Superb video and superb lesson. You offer a lot to those who take care to listen to your advise and wisdom. Thankyou for taking the trouble. I still think I ll die a slow player though LOL.
thank you
Thanks a lot Adam : )
Great presentation I agree with everything he said, especially releasing tension
Playing fast is not the end all, but other players size you up that way. I came to this conclusion. Playing speedy scales is an athletic ability. Even if you could be sure you are doing everything exactly correct, some people just have a greater ability to pull it off. Like sprinters at the Olympics. I also agree with his idea that speed is the result of a diligent process. Speed = familiarity with the task.
SUPERB MAESTRO 👍
Excellent
awesome!
Thank you! :)
I learned a lot thanks you
Are there any songs (on tab) where speed bursts are required?
Maybe similar to the recuerdos by tarrega where your tremolo lessons was based on?
Thanks
amazing technique in your opening! colored me impressed!
im a skin tips player. ill try these techniques and adapt as necessary
He's such a good teacher by video
Adam is the best!
damn adam you are a nice guy. teaching good
Thanks!!
Excelent!
cool video. good teacher.
brilliant
great🎶🎸
To all who are students of the guitar: given all the bountiful lessons from masters of this wondrous instrument always remember that you are your own teacher: break the info down into the smallest steps that you are comfortable with and then put those steps together as you progress in speed. Controlled coordination is the thing you should be striving for. "Slow equals fast", that is, work on perfecting your movement to attain clean flowing notes gradually practicing a little faster as progre
Muy bueno !!
...importa la longitud de
los dedos índice y medio ?
Saludos y felicidades !
Thank you
gracias......macNífico!!!
Informative
The lesson is really good!! If y'all had the patience you need to become a master of guitar, you would success. #true teacher, helps a lot
Thank you Adam your explanation should be an “investment “ i mean time to do it in the right way
The best part: I transferred some of your comments to others parts and resolve problems that where taking me a lot of time
I’m talking about the relax that should be from one finger to the next one playing
I can’t be more great full in fact I start every day with your explanation until will become mine
David
Brilliant solution for not elevating the shoulder and avoid a serious injury.
You are obviously an amazing player and get a great sound! You mentioned in this video to hit the string with the nail and not the skin of the finger. This seems contrary to what I've heard from other flamenco players and I'm struggling with what method is better. Did I understand you correctly? Does using just nails help with speed? Or is it the sound that you prefer? Wish I could play like you! Thanks for your great instruction!
I’m guessing it’s just his preference. Many players like to contact the string where the nail meets the flesh.
Are all of those rest strokes? Also, what are the pros/cons of using rest strokes vs going for a smaller/tighter movement of (i) and (m)?
thanks, great lesson!
where I can get the complete picado lessons? ludoni vision?
Great lessons, thank u for sharing this , im sure this will help me to improve my picado.
But there's no muscles in the fingers ..
u are one fast hombre!
Olé!
Great interpreter, great background, great imagination. Like with most contemporary flamenco players, I miss some flavour, overtone though. Quantity of notes seems to be more important than quality and silences. But no doubt Adam is a great guitar player.
Hi Adam,
Great lesson. Do you pull or push the string ?
Thanx.
Clearer, impossible. Congratulations, very well explained!!
I've heard some things that Goryachev has done. I will not agree or disagree with your statement except to say this. Recording techniques, like a super high quality compression, coupled with a tasteful reverb can give the illusion of smoothness and greater articulation. This is obviously an informal, simply recorded presentation. Not a studio recording. As a lesson, I think it is great. btw I have never heard of Adam Del Monte. So many excellent players these days.
Creo que es muy interesante la explicacion, pero ¿seria posible su traducción al español?. Me parece que muchas personas lo agradecerian. Gracias.
