    isn't it amazing how when great gifted players and teachers try to pass on their knowledge and experience which is probably the greatest gift a human being can bestow upon others, they are met with such a negative wave of ingratitude. I am talking about all the negative thumb downs. I am honoured to see this man and yet ashamed of my fellow guitarists, their jealousy and ignorance. very sad indeed. Well done to those who appreciated and had respect. Manners and respect.. 2 of the most beautiful things imaginable... along with magnificent teachers like this guy.

      Well said. He is basically sharing his knowledge for free. Why anyone would be negative is so childish. Without artists like Del Monte and dozens of others on TH-cam I would have had a much more difficult time learning some of the core basics that all beginners need and sometimes don’t have access to.

    I think the reason why there are so many dislikes above is because he never broke out with the "speedy jams," at the end. They're Dissapointed! The truth is that it was an excellent and informative lesson.

    Thanks, Adam! This is much more useful than the "here's my way, and it's the only right way" universal teaching method. You cover aspects that no one else is talking about. Thanks for your wisdom, and intelligence beyond guitar playing.

    Dear Adam del Monte,
    I play the guitar for almost forty years now and give concerts and guitar lessons for about thirty years....
    And may I say, that this lesson is very useful and very good to learn and to reflect.
    Not only for beginners, but also for professional players, to think about the elementary basics, they sometimes have forgotten on their way...
    So thank you very much and take care

    I think this instruction was very helpful, clear and to the point. The job
    of becoming a flamenco guitarist over many years must be done by the student.
    Segovia said, "Ultimately we are all self-taught," meaning, it's what happens between the lessons that makes the difference.

    Great presentation I agree with everything he said, especially releasing tension
    Playing fast is not the end all, but other players size you up that way. I came to this conclusion. Playing speedy scales is an athletic ability. Even if you could be sure you are doing everything exactly correct, some people just have a greater ability to pull it off. Like sprinters at the Olympics. I also agree with his idea that speed is the result of a diligent process. Speed = familiarity with the task.

    To all who are students of the guitar: given all the bountiful lessons from masters of this wondrous instrument always remember that you are your own teacher: break the info down into the smallest steps that you are comfortable with and then put those steps together as you progress in speed. Controlled coordination is the thing you should be striving for. "Slow equals fast", that is, work on perfecting your movement to attain clean flowing notes gradually practicing a little faster as progre

    You are obviously an amazing player and get a great sound! You mentioned in this video to hit the string with the nail and not the skin of the finger. This seems contrary to what I've heard from other flamenco players and I'm struggling with what method is better. Did I understand you correctly? Does using just nails help with speed? Or is it the sound that you prefer? Wish I could play like you! Thanks for your great instruction!

    • @guitarlessonsnow3431
      @guitarlessonsnow3431 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m guessing it’s just his preference. Many players like to contact the string where the nail meets the flesh.

    yo soy guitarrista clasico. y yo me pegunto de que porte tendrian que ser las uñas por que yo pienso que tienen que ser bien cortas. con respecto a tu pregunta, pues no es que importe si no que la cuerda es mas tensa en la parte del puente y por ello las personas prefieren hacer en linea recta. no se si me explico..

  • @constantsilverdream
    @constantsilverdream 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've heard some things that Goryachev has done. I will not agree or disagree with your statement except to say this. Recording techniques, like a super high quality compression, coupled with a tasteful reverb can give the illusion of smoothness and greater articulation. This is obviously an informal, simply recorded presentation. Not a studio recording. As a lesson, I think it is great. btw I have never heard of Adam Del Monte. So many excellent players these days.
