You know what, out of all the reaction videos I’ve seen for this movie on TH-cam you guys are the only ones who really acknowledged the loss of Silvio and the impact on his family. You saw him as a human being and not just a plot device. The drug wars are made up of millions of Silvios that are always forgotten. Thank you for that.

The night vision was different because the military had the black and white (effective) thermal, and the FBI had the green crappy goggles.

I had not looked at it like that, but you got a point.
When it comes to the war against cartels, the reality is what Kate's boss told her, their every day battle wasn't making a big difference overall, what Alejandra and the other guy were doing was producing more results, quicker, maybe not "legit" but dealing with cartels you can't wait for the proper laws or whatever so that's the only way to make head way.
This was an incredible movie and your guys' reaction to it is pretty good too, including the post analysis, good job

Getting the head of the Cartel doesn't make things stop. It only opens up a position for those in the trade trying to advance. As you will hear later in the film, as long as there is a demand, it will be fulfilled. Going after the CEOs is just for media, and gullible civilians. Our government gave up up on ending this decades ago. Who do you think provides funding for the 'leagalization' movements? The people who will profit; the Cartels.
Thanks for the heads up, I figured it would be like cutting the head off of a hydra, another will grow back in its place. It blows my mind how uncontrollable the situation feels, but then again, I don't know much about it. I certainly don't know why anyone would get involved with a Cartel, Money doesn't seem like a good enough motivator, only a severely desperate lack of options makes any sense to me. @@CocktailFlicks It IS like a hydra. Several competitors will come to the fore. They will fight each other to determine who will control. That is what Matt, and later, the SEAL who was giving the rooftop vista tour to Kate, meant about the violence and chaos erupting when they take out a CEO.

Do not equate the skills of the FBI Hostage Rescue Team with the skills of Navy Seals. (Steve told Matt when Matt arrived in El Paso that Steve had gotten him a "Team", a term usually used in connection to SEALs, not Delta.)
I didn't know that. I figured they would just be mercenaries, because they were getting paid, but they were supposed to be Seals if done in real life huh? Thanks for the insight.

In the making of this movie, the mercs weren’t SEALS. They were real DELTA.

Oh, I'll do that for sure. I love videos that give you a different perspective on movies.
Anyone who thinks Kate is the villain of the movie did not understand it. She is the advocate for the audience to empathize with. The clue is the Silvio and his family scenes. They are not in the film if Kate is the antagonist.
Taylor Sheridan tries very hard to create the impression that these people broke many laws in the pursuit of the Cartel. Mexican laws were broken. The only US law violation is Kate's illegal re-entry into the US through a tunnel and not through a Port of Entry. Oh, and assaulting Matt when she completed her illegal entry. Taylor plays emotions like a fiddle. Don't think, just feel.
