You can change the settings by setting up your POA Charger filters to only show EA if that is your choice and also DC+, then try it! May work may not!

Yes and seems obvious. Works the same in Europe indeed. It uses your filters
sick and tired of reviewers not using this feature and saying route planning is junk and suggest ac charging
“There’s settings?” Try, “there are settings.” BTW, my Ioniq RWD at 80% shows 60 to 70 miles more as to your 180 miles. Is the dual motor, heavier car, faster cruising speed factors in the decreased efficiency? I find PlugShare trip planning easy to use. Thanks snd be well.
When you started tapping on the blank parts of the screen I felt for sure this was going to be an April Fools!
Thanks for the mention! Glad you got it working in your Ioniq 5. Hopefully we'll see an official update with it in the next infotainment update in a month. I'm optimistic 😀
Hope the software update will be coming soon without having to go through the engineering mode.
In the meantime I will stick with ABRP or PlugShare to map out my charging stops while on a road trip.
So glad that Hyundai has been making improvements to the I5 for existing owners. Battery preconditioning has been great and soon route planning. I am a happy 2022 owner!

When it started with "go on FM radio and put the sound level to 2", I thought it was an April's fool. And when you said "tap 6 times on the left of the actual button", I was SURE it was an April's Fool. And it turns out it isn't. Incredible.

The process in other videos to get to the engineering screen comprised of pressing the radio scan tune button, which didn't work. Finally, I'm glad to see a process that works.
Interesting! Never thought we Ioniq 5 owners would actually get this. I actually witnessed pre conditioning working in my Ioniq 5 top spec RWD recently. Never thought I’ll get that either. Hyundai keeps surprising me!

I just got my first OTA update and I also have the rare 2022 Ioniq 5 Limited RWD. Not sure what the update did yet

I'm glad they are working on it, although in the present state it's not really usable as you showed. I'll stick with ABRP to only show EA stations with DCFC and wing it. But thanks for demonstrating it!
Cheers for the mention. The US version is actually more advanced than the EU Nav version after watching Jeff’s video. The EV charge station filter works & also you get the miles displayed between stops in the route planner.

I'd be curious what your route would look like if you tried the same Minneapolis route in the morning. I'm wondering if the AC charge was suggested as an overnight stop given that it was in the evening.
9:30 in the route options, does it have an option to choose the brand of charging stations?
The app is in its infancy. I would never share a back door that could cause someone issues do to curiosity or stupidity. Up until now your content has been solid.
Any idea of any of this will work with European models on European roads?
Hi! Have you heard about problems with phone cables since the latest upgrade? I get a lot of "please use a phone cable that takes Apple car play in charge with a certified USB cable"
Not really sure why it is routing you to an EVgo charger in Springfield, VA when there is an Electrify America literally 1 mile away at Springfield Mall. It's probably still best to rely on ABRP or something similar.
Any idea what the new engineering mode pw is?

Hey Corbin, I think the password used in your video works only with latest SW update. I'm still on the 220504 SW version and when I tried your password it says invalid.
FYI I had my I5 software updated a couple weeks ago - and it does not have the EVrecommendPOI check box. Bummed was thinking of driving 5 hours away - Guess I’m using gas for this trip.
I suspect much of this is living in the car from the October infotaiment update. Given the Spring 2023 update will be here before not long, that will probably get it where it needs to be for the launch of the Ioniq 6.
In june/july so we still have to wait :(

On some consumer electronics, entering this kind of mode by someone other than an authorized service tech will void the warranty.
I have not tried this yet but does it base charging stops based on your current poi charging station filter? If it was set to only DC Fast and EA, would it route based on that?

Wondering if there's a way to enable other features using this mode. Really hoping the dashcam feature from Korea may come eventually
That system requires all sorts of extra hardware that our cars don’t have so it won’t be coming as a software update
I hope Hyundai will also add CarPlay EV Routing at some point. I don’t have hands on experience but it would be nice not to have to use Hyundai’s laggy navigation system.

Interesting I don't have that option, traffic reroute on off is the last thing on my list under the Navi menu. Maybe they're on to us and have disabled it

You need to redo all the process everytime you turn off and turn on the car. It doesn't keep the option saved to on

You shouldn't need to use a code to get this as its now included in the latest software version for the car
I just tried in the my 22 limited RWD 5 and got INVALID PASSWORD. I checked several times (Jeff's vid too) i entered the number correctly. Thoughts? Thx
Perhaps it’s only showing up on cars with the latest VCU updates which your car wouldn’t have

I have a notification set up in the EA app to let me know when they’re available, they’ve only shown as coming soon for the last month or so, I’m not really sure how long the process takes. The one current station is on the far east side of town.

11h for 750km.. damn Slow driving speeds in USA! We do 10h for 1000km in europe.
If you’re talking about the Virginia route last year I think I averaged only about 50-55mph over the 500 mile drive there
This system obviously isn't aware of weird habits in the US, like selling cars with free unlimited charging (that clog chargers everywhere)! It's aimed at normal EV driving needs (finding chargers along the way).
Very cool, but it's ridiculous that Hyundai wouldn't add this as an easy software update as Tesla makes this as it can be. Let's hope they do it soon and allow us to select the charge stations we prefer.
this is scary stuff folks need this for EV, i would rather stick with petrol.
Also when everybody is eventually forced unto EV, i can already see a booming business in manufacture of tow behind or roof mounted electric generators for EV.
When the practice of mounting electric power generators to EV gets so popular most people are doing it, the world will finally come to its senses and return to petrol.
I Also heared its dangerous to park EV in or near your house cause of EV battery fire.
I fear no amount of software updates can solve the EV issues, what EV needs is hardware update back to petrol, so you dont have to plan your rotes like you back in the stone age using hitech devices.
You need to educate yourself. So much misinformation in your comment it's actually pretty sad. My advice - if you don't know what you are talking about, DON'T TALK ABOUT IT!
@@4thdistrict476 what part of multiple charging stops dont i get, all over the internet their are videos of EV drivers who have done away with this problem and carry power generator either on roof or towed behind the EV, then they stop at petrol station to fill up the generator.
What part of that dont i get
@@JaskanFactor Because this is not reality. Noone carry a generator for EV. There was a picture trending around the internet on fake news / consipracy theorist channels showing a generator for an Ev Charger letting think this is what people do with EV, but just pure fake news. It was just a performance from an artist.
