@@FiveStarCarStereoInc hi. I just installed a after market stereo in my 06 silverado everything is good but you know how in these trucks when we turn the truck off the stereo stays on for a couple min and then shuts off itself or it shuts off when we open the door? Well it doesn't do that anymore is there another wire that I missed for that? Thank you.
If you go behind the ac vent on the passanger side next to the radio there is a plug that if you unplug it it has all the speaker wires there. And you dont have to modified any harness.
Five Star Car Stereo can you just sell me one of these harnesses, im having a hard time seeing any detail in making the harness myself, or tell me what colors go to what numbers on the connector and ill make it myself
I don't quite understand why you spent so much time rewiring that harness connector. You put in an aftermarket deck and aftermarket speakers so why didn't you just run new speaker wire too? It would have taken about the same amount of time. I am not suggesting you don't know what you are doing or that you are skimping...because you don't...you guys do a marvelous job at this stuff.
I've been a subscriber for a while but just stumbled across this while looking up how to bypass all the Bose crap on an 04.5 duramax. Thank you so much for sharing this, we're doing a full system and this will make it such a breeze
when you say match up the colors when soldering them which wires do you solder together. hard to get a good look at the harness in the video. I've been trying everything to eliminate bose. this will work for me but not sure what wires to solder.
Technically you wouldn’t need to plug, just follow what he’s doing by matching the colors before the plug itself then that eliminates all need for the plug
So I have Bose . Left everything as is. I have diff head unit . Subs, speakers and my tweeters were broke off like The wiring so I want just swap them out with else tweeters can I just stick them in the a pillar with the stock wiring harness ?
So you have the harness from the radio and harness that goes into the amp, off the top of my head I would think that to bypass the amp, all you would have to do would be to tie both plugs in straight to each other BYPASSING the Bose amp, I don't understand how this harness that feeds back into itself makes this work. Can someone pls explain?
Most of these trucks have a bypass harness behind the dash already in between the radio and the storage pocket to the right. The harness will usually have speakers power ground and data.
Gonna have to watch that a couple times to figure out the wiring on the bypass but appreciate the post! I wasn't sure if this approach DOES retain the A-pillar tweeters, though?
If I want to bypass the factory amp and run the speakers off the aftermarket head unit....can I unplug the in and output speaker wire (harness) on the factory Amp, cut the speaker wires and connect them together? I'd like to remove the factory amp and factory sub and use that space for aftermarket amps
I have a 2015 GMC with Bose and I used the after amp subwoofer signal to my high level input on my Rockford Fosgate punch 1000.1bd to 2 Sundown E8's in a box I had designed but I built tuned to 32hz and it is NASTY LOUD!!!
Does the steering wheel controls still work with the bypass if you have the steering wheel harness b4 the speakers went out or do you loose that with the bypass?
Mine has that problem now, I have a 2013 GMC Sierra SLT with small Bose speakers above the dashboard that quit, I still have four door speakers that play but they are old also, I'm going to check that amp like you did and upgrade the speakers hopefully it will work. I hate listening to my AC/DC on a crappy radio.
Just saw this video and I'm confused. I've got a 04 Tahoe with the Bose system. I also have an aftermarket radio installed with the pac gm11 interface. Can I bypass this the same way you did? Can I still use the gm11 interface that is hooked up to the radio or do I need a different harness? Thanks for any info
I got a 2001 gmc Yukon sle xl and was wondering if I can replace the oem amp behind the glove box and replace it with a little more juice and still use the oem wires. Is there a plug in harness I can buy to make this work and not cut in to anything
I really need help I completed the factory bypass harness and my volume is really low. I have speed wire run from my JL Audio Amp to my Kenwood and RCA’s to the amp. I have audison 6.5’s in the doors. The audio is extremely clear it’s just very low. Please help
@Five Star Car Stereo I know this video is old. But I'm not too knowledgeable in this area. But I was wondering if there is a harness or T harness that I can use for a '11 Grand Cherokee? It does have a sub. I want to bypass the oem amp but would like to use all original wires and not cut anything if possible. I just want a harness that will plug in and give me leads to hook up to a 5 channel amp. Thank you for your time.
Which kit do I get for 2013 Tahoe LTZ pioneer AHV-X940BS bose system to keep the video on for the kids on the back. I do have plan to put a sub Amp and 4 channel Amp. My bose system is 9 channels
will a metra 70-2054 do the same thing? only I'm running the ends to an aftermarket amplifier.. will I have to tie the front a-piler tweets back in? I won't miss the factory subs up front lol.. 2006 Silverado onstar/bose. I already have all 6 of my rca connected and ran to the amps.. I just don't want to run new wire to all the doors
What if you wanted to keep your OnStar and do a backup camera or in my case I would want two backup cameras I want one for my bed to show my gooseneck trailer ball and one on my tailgate when I'm backing up any other time
I removed the harness and tried to bare wire it. Can't figure out which wires go to what speakers. All forums give specific wire colors but my 03 Tahoe doesn't have those color wires
Why don't they make the adapter T-harnesses for all stock amplifiers so people who want to bypass it can without cutting into factory wiring? BTW Dean,I manufactured a bunch of T-harnesses for 2010-2015 Terrain/Equinoxes for stock amp bypass.I couldn't find them anywhere so I made my own!
I have a 2004 Silverado 2500hd. An aftermarket Kenwood and the PAC interface installed to keep the onstar and steering wheel control. One day the stereo shutoff and didn’t turn back on. I think the interface module went back so I called a local shop and they told me to bypass the module with a single power wire. I did that and the radio turned back on. Now I hear a relay click on and off and when it does the speakers shut off but the stereo is still on. The speaker wires run through the pac module, down to the amp and back out to the speakers. So I did the amp bypass plug you made and the speakers still play sound but at a very low volume. I have to max out the stereo to hear anything coming out of them. I don’t care for on star. Only the steering wheel control and speakers. I have an aftermarket amp and sub I want to install. Should I replace the PAC module or how do I completely bypass the Bose stuff and run a stereo and speakers only
Andrae Parks how did you do yours I have same vehicle I’m trying to bypassed My amp isn’t behind glove box so I’m thinking it’s in the center console but mine doesn’t have a front or rear subwoofer
I have a 05 envoy Denali with the bose system. I already replaced the headunit with all the modules need to keep on star steering wheel control etc. What would I need to replace the factory bose amp with a aftermarket one
I'm sure this is a little old for my question to be answered but I will ask anyway because I am about to do an install and dont want to fry my head unit. So if you leave the tweeters connected to the front channels with the 4ohm kickers that wont create an ohm overload and fry the head unit?
Can you breakdown the colors that you are pointing out a little better, at the 7:54 mark of the video? I have a 06 Sierra, and I'm going to be upgrading the stereo. I do have the Bose speakers installed, and would like to know the colors for the factory wiring. Thanks in advance.
I just wanna say, im hooked on your channel, u guys know your stuff and you've taught me so much..thank you. I used to watch mark on the caf channel but you guys are much more entertaining. Im an audio phile myself and i get a kick out of the way you guys keep it real and the comic side of things is great! Keep it up!
I replace my original radio on a 2003 tahoe for a dvd pionner but has a relay where I can add more stuff like rear camera etc with th red cable and makes the radio turn off and on for 20 sec and then works for 20mnts and start doing the same thing. I been told thats for a on star but I dont have it on my tahoe. Can I just cut the red cable and connect directly to the red cable from the pionner in order to stop doing that?
Is there a factory line in /out cable between the old factory head unit and the old factory amp ? Can I use this same cable to connect my new head unit pre out to my new amp ?
I have a 2005 yukon with the bose. I put an alpine ute 73bt. With a axxess ax-gmcl2 Which means the bose amp is still powering the speakers. So i was wondering if I install a sub and amp would the whole system work?
This is a good instructional video on how to bypass the factory amplifier, but who is that jazz b3 organ music by at the 3:25 mark, Grant Green or Jimmy Smith, @ the perfect volume level, & totally badass while you get your work done.✌👍👍
I bought new speakers and a new head unit it’s already installed but i feel like I’m losing power......it’s a (2005 Silverado ext cab w/Bose audio) and i was wondering if bypassing the factory amplifier would help it sound better???
I have been out of car stereo for a while, like since the 90's. I don't understand the purpose of the loop back by pass in this video. I want to understand because I am doing a complete stereo replace in an E46 and I am wondering if I need to "BYPASS" something.
The loop back is just joining the Bose amplifier input and output together to get a continuous signal from the rear of the head unit to all the factory speakers. Btw great video once again guys. Love ya work
Kirk Abrahamson oh, so the wires from the head unit go into and out of the same connector on the bose amp. That's what I was missing. The loop allows the signals to "bypass" on through. Thanks for your response.
Might I ask why you can't unplug that and cut all the wires and wire them back to each other (if that makes sense)? If I'm doing this at home, I should have everything to do that
Couldn't you just take the harness and just use the wires that are already in it? Removing any unnecessary wires. Then solder needed bypass wires together? Without using 2 harnesses and taking them both apart ect? All you lose is the bose amp correct? So no more onstar or bose amp but if you're not replacing your door speakers.. they will still work right? Just no amp only head unit power? I hope my multiple questions make sense to whoever reads this. I've been dying to install my system in my 05 hd2500 crew cab but don't want to deal with the bose/onstar steering wheel controls interface crap. Is this my solution?
Would you have a video that shows the bypass process for an 03 Denali Bose amp 15199992? The second set of wires on my connector are different from the connector on this video. Any help would be great, thanks!
What kind of harness is it that connects to the plug in the arm rest looking to run a amp for all of my speakers not running anything off the head unit but rca
I noticed you have done this installation without the bypass of the factory amp. You used the pac RP4 and 2 sni-1 nose filters. Which one of these methods do you recommend if you had a choice? Is one better than the other? Also, with the bypass, do I still retain my steering wheel controls?

For your factory subwoofer to work you need to disconnect the other connector on the amp
With the push-in clip on top the pin count goes from H-E (top row)
A-D (bottom row)
Depending on your vin code (UQ7 or Y91) the colors will be in different locations
I used T-taps to connect the subwoofer with rear speaker channels without
It connected you will only get mids & hi’s (No Bass)

Yep, doesn't even need re-pinning. Perfect if you're changing out the speakers, anyway, and you keep whatever the module you're using can retain.
Yes we talked about that in the video, it does not retain the tweeters.

Kirk Abrahamson oh, so the wires from the head unit go into and out of the same connector on the bose amp. That's what I was missing. The loop allows the signals to "bypass" on through. Thanks for your response.
Steve Messer that is correct mate. If there is way to complicate things a car manufacturer will find It. Lol
Yeah, installs used to be more simple imo.
Might I ask why you can't unplug that and cut all the wires and wire them back to each other (if that makes sense)? If I'm doing this at home, I should have everything to do that
If I put a non bose radio in my Chevy and have no sound, can I just bypass the amp and get sound back? I know its not powering the amp.
What holes on the plug do each of the wires go into?
Would you have a video that shows the bypass process for an 03 Denali Bose amp 15199992? The second set of wires on my connector are different from the connector on this video. Any help would be great, thanks!
Any bypass tips in a 07+ GM Truck or SUV
Man that was complex...color me impressed guys cuz that was double trouble right there.
So if I bypass my boss amp can I run the speaker wires to a 4 channel amp?
Can you sale me a amp bypass for 06 Chevy 1500 with bose
What kind of harness is it that connects to the plug in the arm rest looking to run a amp for all of my speakers not running anything off the head unit but rca
Does the bypass with the harness and repinning work on a 2012 Silverado with a Bose system?
I’d like to know that too for the 2008
i installed a new radio with the harness and everything works but now im getting the engine noise do you have any suggestions?everything is soldered.
Can you tell me where to get rta and signal generator from.
I noticed you have done this installation without the bypass of the factory amp. You used the pac RP4 and 2 sni-1 nose filters. Which one of these methods do you recommend if you had a choice? Is one better than the other? Also, with the bypass, do I still retain my steering wheel controls?
