I borrowed my buddy’s boat to take it down to the Florida keys, problem is I have to use my trailer. My trailer is pretty rough too, the whole trip is around 2500 miles to and from Florida. Will my janky trailer make it? While I’m down in Florida my goal is to become FLORIDA MAN.

Every time I see you figure out how to make something work with limited time and resources I think “McGruber… MCGRUBERRRR” lol
My wife and I will be doing the same thing mid April, can’t wait. Best quote: “we won’t end up in the hospital…I might”
You know your getting big time when Chris Fix comments! 😁
@@justing6594 im pretty sure there buddies.
@@rocketrambo20 that's awesome good for them!
MacGyver was just missing using a stick of gum 😂
Luke, I personally think that the smartest move you have made. Is putting a ring on Lindsey’s finger. You all should have an amazing life together. Love the ride with along.
You crack me up with all your nonchalant mentality when it comes to your boats and trailers. The fixes are masterpieces of ingenuity and frugalness. Ypu fix things like I do, on the fly and from lots of trial and error. Everything is a work in progress. Thanks for making me chuckle
Gotta do what you gotta do!
Lindsey, you are definitely the STABLE one in your marriage but your husband definitely has IMAGINATIVE ideas on how to fix things. Luke, this episode was priceless to watch and oh so funny. Love your channel with Lindsey’s stable influence thrown in. Can’t wait to see your crab stand boat buildout.
What a great couple... Lindsey is so chill, nothing Luke does bothers her... great content, love your channel, keep up the good work
Coming from a Florida Man of 53 years, you'd do just fine down here. And we'd be lucky to have someone like you.
Yall still do bathsalts and eat people face down there
@joho0, if you could just keep the NY/NJ folks out, that would be great.
As a Pakistani Truck Driver, I approve of this excellent repair work.
I died at the Buc-ee's shirt schtick. What a great way to start a Friday morning instead of doing work... enjoy your vacation! Longest trip: Germantown, MD to Evansville, IN a few times a year.
Evansville is the armpit of the midwest
@@TwoAcresandaMule You ain't kidding, I'm from Dayton, the better half is from Evansville and we now live just outside of DC. Still have to make the pilgrimage for family visits though
@@DCMacGuygood ol Germantown eh? Im literally the next town over in Damascus. 🤘🏾

The trailer fix is the most Luke thing Luke ever Luked.
you need to become a verb. Like Magyver. Like you just did a McFaddy. I'm gonna mcfaddy this.
To "mcfaddy" something (verb):
To fix, assemble, or create something in an unconventional, makeshift manner with half confidence in its functionality, despite its unpolished or cheap appearance, often using readily available materials without the need for specialized tools.
Example sentence: "I didn't have the right bracket for the shelf, so I just mcfaddied it with some wire hangers and duct tape, and believe it or not, it's holding up perfectly!"
🤣🤣🤣
You forgot how everything is a hammer🔧
Borrowed a buddies utility trailer to drive from NC to IND to pick up as many IBC totes as I could carry back. All empty but stacked them two high bad idea. They were taller than the Explorer I was towing with and acted like a giant sail. Gas mileage around 8mpg. And then some where in KY we found out that the owner never maintained the trailer bearings. Lost a wheel bearing have no idea how the whole wheel didn’t come off there were no balls left in the bearing. Stopped at a gas station to see what was going on. I had some tools but not a ton and the car was full of stuff my wife and our Great Dane. Couldn’t get the inner bearings race off so luckily there was a tractor supply close by dropped the trailer. went and bought a whole new assembled axel. Swapped the axel in the gas station parking lot and left the old axel sticking out of a trash can. Made it home.
“Bud light presents: REEEEEAAAALL MEN OF GEEEEEENIUSSSSSSS, MR TRAILER AXLE GAS STATION MAN” *guitar riff into infinity*
Mr borrowed a trailer that never got maintained and went on a trip, blown all the bearings out, went to the tractor supply, bought an assembled axel and changed it in the gas station parking lot 🎵🎶🎵 left that axel in the gas station paaarrking lot trashcaaan 🎶🎵🎶 we salute you real men of genius 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎵🫡 🫡🫡🫡
Love the idea of only going to local family owned establishments on road trips! I'll definitely be sticking to that rule for my fishing trips this coming year. Hope you guys had a great time - well earned vacation for sure!
You and your wife skit at buckeys had me smiling. Good job you to.
I can count on one foot how many TH-camrs make me laugh out loud! You Kind Sir are my number 1 !!!!!!!! I'm so proud of you! Your wife is the cherry on top!!
Ok,Luke here we go… son in law stationed in San Diego Ca. In the Navy had to get my daughter, her car and three dogs home to Maryland during the height of Covid before his discharge. I purchased a 2004 class C Ford chassis RV sight unseen two hours north of them in California. I flew out we took one day to prep the Rv for the cross country trip , we loaded up the next day and headed home flat towing her car. We ate from the fridge in the RV thanks to my daughter meal preparation planning. Made it 2400 miles with no problems and slept in scenic rest stops and Wally World parking lots every night. Funny thing… I complained to my son Inlaw about how disappointed I was in the Ford’s V10 lack of power… that’s when he showed me the 1000# of guns and ammo he had secretly shoved in the towed car behind the RV🤨
To be fair a v10 isn’t very powerful no matter what, decently reliable if maintained though.
You asked about the longest road trip… I bought a 2017 F-150 from the Ford dealer in Oregon, Ohio in 2019 .. I flew into Detroit and took an Uber from there to Oregon OH.. I was the only guy walking through the dealership lobby with a small suitcase! 😮😂
Regardless.. I bought the truck and drove out of the Ford dealer lot and spent about 2-3 weeks driving it home (not in any hurry mind you) from Ohio to California (Los Angeles area).. That was the BEST trip I’ve ever had! Saw all kinds of tiny towns - the kind without a stop light and so forth. Just neat to see parts of the US that are out of the way! ❤️🙏❤️
"That thing on the roof" looks like a radar deflector to me. It would make your boat show up better on other boats radar. Thanks for the great video!
It's a day signal. It shows other vessels in the area what the boat is doing. That one in particular shows that the vessel is engaged in fishing. The signal shouldn't really be up in port as the vessel isn't fishing, but no one takes them down. It's required by maritime rules of the sea and collision avoidance.
Favorite show of yours so far. I have eaten at that place in Dunn and it is legit. Your assessment of Buckys is spot on. Your ingenuity to repair things on the fly both on the water and on land is spot on. Best of all you have a beautiful wife who is confident in everything you do. I love your hustle, and despite some recent setbacks with the new boat, I know you will persevere and win in the end. Carry on!
Those orange capped nails are for holding down underlayment on a roof. They'll work perfectly...until they don't. 👌
Luke, I’m not sure if you already do this, but if you unplug the trailer before going down the ramp, it helps from having to replace the bulbs so much. It lets them cool so they don’t pop from the rapid change in temp. Sorry if you knew this, but I found it helpful.
That is like you two have been together forever. The lobster/fridge thing had me rolling. 🤣She wasn't surprised...just like OK, that's his.
Luke, you are a very lucky man to have a wife like Lindsey!!! The two of you make a great team. Wishing you both many happy and fun filled life together.
Careful, Luke! Florida will get ya! Haha. I'm not a professional. But I spent every summer on the coast of Maine when I was a kid fishing, kayaking, boating and stuff. Loved it. Loved the ocean. Always wanted to live somewhere like that. Ended up moving to FL and now I would never trade these warm winds, waters and beaches for the northeast! 😂.
I'm 57yrs old as a kid we as a family would take the summer time vacation. California to neosho mo. in the back of a 71 Ford f100 with a camper 3 kids and a dog in the camper parents up front. NO AIR CONDITIONING. Stop a KOA camp grounds, clean showers and a pool. Fun times. Love the vids I follow all of them. Yall be safe ✌️
You guys are amazing. God bless ya youngsters. Safe travels!
The shark fishing part was probably the funniest thing I've seen on TH-cam for a long while. Brilliant editing. Thanks for the laugh.
Highly recommend staying at Hawks Cay Resort down there. We stayed in the condos that have off the docks right off the back patio. Manatees regularly visit in the harbor also.
I saw that place! Looks nice
You speak the truth about the type of people around the DC Beltway - and how nice everyone is down south. When we come back to DC we can feel the tension and aggression with each mile we get closer. Good luck this season crabbong.
24:56 that black hourglass shaped thing is called a day sign, there are several flavours for several different things, from fishing to anchor to distress
You managed to fix your trailer on the road. You are very talented at fixing things.
Glad you enjoyed your vacation.
Lindsey is a good sport for camping in the leaky truck.
But it beats getting wet in a tent.
We drove from Laurel MD to Miami FLA in a Honda with a PIT bull with GAS FARTING ALL THE WAY
You’re genuine stars! Amazing personalities … natural talent … amazed at how you find the time to do all you do … can’t wait to get up to your store and meet you in person
Luke! When are we seeing your John boat again
Every day it’s sitting in my yard!
😂 I have one just like it is sitting in my yard 😂
As someone who moved from VA to FL, seeing that Florida welcome sign brings memories. Seriously love the content!
Luke, a tip from 4-wheeling for years. If you drive a diesel with 2 batteries, carry two sets of jumper cables and a few 3/32 6013 welding rods. You have a makeshift welder anytime you want. Just use one set of cables to series up your batteries and use the second set as a welding stinger/ground. Make sure you disconnect the battery you place in series from your truck first though or your computer will be very unhappy and might let the smoke out. Its rough but i can attest to its viability, 24 volts or thereabouts will work. Patched up a few broken tie rods good enough to limp it home that way
Olympia, WA to Holderness, NH with 15’ boat in tow, two dogs and my 10 year old! It was the best adventure ever
If anyone needs any ideas on how to fix something because they have no idea on how to well you definitely can always watch Luke’s channel and if he doesn’t have any ideas that you can steel from him well it definitely cannot be fixed for sure!!! Luke I definitely have to give you props on all your ideas you come up with for sure!!! Awesome video buddy and I definitely hope that you and your better half with all the brains in the family had a wonderful time on your vacation???!!!
@ I live in dunn nc. It was awesome seeing it on here.
Welcome to the south. Everyone will sit and talk with you
It's good you included your old lady on this one. Great watch.... great idea for a U bolt .
Bro, your gift of gab is awesome! Your videos instantly improve my morale! Keep it up man!
Keep it up buddy I really enjoy watching every new video and watching your journey always so confident! Keep it up man don’t stop uploading! There’s people who look forward to watching your journey! Have a blessed trip man god bless you
Your wife is the bomb. So chill and optimistic.
Sounds like you guys had a fun trip. You are a hoot! Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Next time bring a tarp from Walmart to go over the camper shell and also added security and privacy
this video reminded me of the good times I had with someone , thanks man. hope you have an awesome start to your crab season.
Looks like a temporary permanent trailer repair. Good work getting home safe.
Hey Luke I saw you on Fox this morning!! When I heard that bridge fell down I wondered if this terrible accident was close to you. Best of luck to you my friend!
100% just wholesome yall are awesome and love watching your adventures in life. you inspired me to take a step and start my own business! keep on keeping on man
New Bern, NC--to--Willow Grove, PA. Loaded up my F150 full, hitched up a 17" Mako center console and did a turn and burn. 510 miles, 1.5 hours loading, 510 miles back-22 hours total. Thank God for two vials of 5 hour energy. Lost a big crab trap out of the boat somewhere in Virginia, when I told the guy I bought the boat from, He wanted to know if I had baited the trap before releasing.
As a fisherman from Australia, I grew up with the basics, we made do with what we had. Your ability to adapt is a result of daily problem solving on the sea.
You remind me of myself, we haven't a vast disposal income, but still enjoy this beautiful earth God gave us. Having a wife who fully supports and believes in you makes watching your channel so enjoyable. Oh, I reckon you could have found an engineering shop that could of popped a weld on your spring holder. You made it home, no problem.
The orange nail things are for exterior styrofoam insulation board for new houses. Handy for all kinds of tarps and crap! 😁
I road tripped from Windsor Ontario Canada to Key west Florida it was a 5000 mile round trip. The Florida keys and the Tennessee smokey mountains are AMAZING!!
Luke, i really like your videos. i can tell how much work you're putting into them. keep it up and let's get you to 1 mil. subs.
Thank you!
As a Floridian through and through. You are made for this place ! Come on back !
Been watching you a while, man, and it was cool to see you so close to home. We are a few miles from Dunn in Benson. We go to Dunn a lot. I'm glad we treated yall with good old southern hospitality. Stay safe, keep in sketchy.
Luke and Lindsey, my wife and I drove from San Diego to Alexandria, VA with a 2 month old who developed prickly heat rash. My sister told us to use sock with corn starch. Oh, and we drove back.
Longest trip me and my wife have done was Glen Burnie, MD to Strongsville ohio...round trip roughly 750 miles and then half a day at home and then back on the road to Tail of the Dragon in Tenn/ North Carolina...round trip roughly 1200 miles. So if I add on the numerous runs we did on the dragon which is 11 miles long....I'll add on another 100 miles for that, we're looking at 2000+ miles in 5 days. You never think about how badly you can get sunburned with your arm out of the window for 2000 miles of summer sun.
regarding the wrench size problem what i do is i take my thumb and i press it into the bolt head so it leaves an imprint and then i take my thumb back to the tool chest and hold the wrenches up to the imprint on my thumb until i find one that matches.
Also those orange nail things are roofing nails the ring around the nail pushes down across roofing felt and helps to waterproof the area around the nail to prevent water from leaking down around the nail into your roof.
I do the same thing with "avoiding chain restaurants" when I'm visiting a different town. It helps their local economy and you get to try something new, or try a different version of something you've had before.
I *_HIGHLY_* recommend this to anyone who doesn't already live by this principle!
Awesome video... Started watching your shorts then was interested in the videos. Been watching for a little while now. Awesome channel and there's no BS.
Lindsey: “This is not gonna end well”
Luke: “ this is gonna be badass, this is an epic ass story dude.. 5ft shark!”
You're an extremely lucky guy!!... Your wife is really cute and a great camper!!Keep a very close eye on her. And make her feel loved...
Stay safe...
STAY HEALTHY
Those orange cap nails, Are for roofing/siding base layer fasteners. Certain brands have points marked in the "paper" , setup so that you miss the rails when placing shingles or other materials. The underlay is actually a decent small tarp , Thin as hell, But if taped right can be left on a roof for a while before the sun kills it and still shed water.
Ole buddy your repairs remind me of stuff I’ve done to make it home! Great video!! Keep up the good work!
Great Vlog, looks like a y’all had a good time. An uncle and I drove from the DMV area down to El Salvador in a diesel Isuzu NPR that we bought from a guy in B-more. All we did was an oil change and hit the road, it broke down twice in Mexico. We had to use an oil filter as a fuel filter in order to make it. You have yourself a good woman, it’s hard to find a woman that’ll put up with a blue collar guy’s shenanigans.
Luke ive always watched most of your vids and shorts but since that smith isalsnd vid has me hooked had to go back and rewatch your videoss keep up the contents really loved the smith island style video with the history
Epic, Luke!! Thoroughly enjoyed this episode!! Lindsey is a peach!!
Marathon is our FAVORITE Key. Looks amazing as usual!Enjoy. Be safe.!
U two are freaking awesome! Honestly wish video kept going
New Orleans to Hamilton Ontario after 9/11 we got stuck at a convention and had to rent and drive home all flights were grounded. Worst week ever!!! Luv seeing you 2 make vids. Peace from Alberta Canada

You guys are a "match made in heaven". God bless you. I'm not a holy roller but you deserve all the praise! I'm north of Chicago so I know what your saying about the southern hospitality. Have a nice vacay
WHAT a woman - not phased by a spiney lobster in the frig.! Thanks for the trip. We are looking forward to the new Buc ee’s here in Goodyear AZ!!!
Drove from Lexington Ky to San Francisco CA, it was a cross country trip with buddies right when we graduated high school. Liked it so much we did it twice
Me and my son packed up two kayaks and drove through Hurricane zeta and it was the best trip I've ever been on first time to florida...1500 miles. The best part of the trip is the obstacles in the journey.
You are Florida man approved my friend. I live in SWFL and took a weekend trip to the keys 8-11th of march , its hard to have a bad time down there.💪💪💪💪
Happy Friday! Thanks for the laughs and smiles.
Man I have to say you’re one of my favorite people on TH-cam I absolutely love your content it always puts me in a great mood 😅😅
Been waiting all week on this, you def. Did not disappoint, love your stuff man, keep up the great work and good luck this coming season.!!!
You are a man after may own heart ever time I bring a new project home my wife asks does it run even though she already knows the answer (no it's always no) lol. Keep up the great work.
Love your videos. That blue bubblegum floating in the water is a man of war jellyfish. Deadly and the tentacles stick to fishing line. They suck very much.
Lived in Maryland now living in Southwest Florida. Good job Luke doing the Red Neck repairs 👍🏻
This was an enjoyable video. Funny moments and one liners.
24:57 - Those are mast signals called "Day Shapes" that indicate the status of the vessel. The two cones pointing at each other designates fishing boat >20m with restricted maneuverability. If there's another cone extending from the two, that means there's gear from the boat extending over 150m from it.
I learned vicariously the hard way why it's important to maintain trailers, the bearings in particular.
We took a big road trip to Canada when I was a kid. Well anyway, a trailer bearing went out during the trip.. I got to watch my uncles and my dad cobble something together in the parking lot of a hardware store. One of many technical difficulties during the trip.
You and Lindsey are great together!
Wife and I car camped from Southern Maryland to Los Angeles, California! Took about 33 days total. Final destination was Honolulu, Hawaii which is where we currently live.. amazing experience 🤙🏼
The thing on the top of the boat is a radar reflector. They put them on boats, buoys, high fliers. That lets the radar pick it up easier.
I love the battery weld move! Awesome!
10/10 recommend use a battery as a welder I use it all the time and only ended up in the hospital once
I honestly wish woman valued how no matter what at the end of the day we come thru like you do Luke and like Lindsay does. Have a great life you guys.
Longest roadtrip? Took the family to New orleans and many points in between, Left British Columbia Canada, North rim grand canyon, las vegas, south rim, austin texas, johnson space center, new orleans ,Memphis, yellowstone then back home 8390 miles... That Bucees (sp) is insane.
You guys are fun to watch, subscribed.
My longest from Ga, to Washington state, rough trip, worst trip, Me and my wife's trip to Keywest, we cracked the injector housing in our 2004 GMC 2500 Duramax deisl, and had to finish the trip by putting two quarts of Lucas oil stableizer ever fuel stop. We went from Naples to Key west the 1100 miles back to GA. To its credit is got us home. But the vacation turned into a stress infusion! Then GM had recognized the issue with the housings cracking and extended the warranty from 100k to 200k we had 199980 miles on the truck when it rolled on the lot for the dealer. It rolled in on the back of a trailer for the last twenty miles.
Good luck this year hope you have a monster season
Love your dedication to local eats 🎉
Hellzz yeah brother, gotta get those vacations and times off to recharge and keep the wife happy. Thank you for sharing MAKE THAT MONEY BROTHER
