I've been trying to sell my boat, the Webo, on Facebook Marketplace, but it's not selling. It's also time to do some maintenance on the Webo, so that means pulling it out of the water. We stripped, cleaned, inspected, prepared, and painted the bottom of the boat. We got it done in time to take it over to Tiki Lee's for the Francis Scott Key Bridge Fundraiser. We had a great time meeting and hanging out with everyone!

Oh my Lord! OldBull here! Can’t believe I made it on this video! 👍🦅🇺🇸
You’re the man! I got ur boat ready for you! 😂
Get that boat Dale!
I think the ol bull is full of shit 😂
That's not nice Manhattan tell his war stories all he wants if it makes him feel good and then who cares
As big as our great country is all it takes is a disaster of the Key bridge. It almost feels like a small town with everyone stepping up and doing something to help others that they don't know. Times like this I'm even more proud to call myself an American. People from all over the country coming to help. I realize they are getting paid but they are wanting to meet the locals. That says a lot to me.
dude I've never been more interested in an old, barnacle-covered crabbing boat!! good stuff brother
Oh my God the man lojo. This guy is my favorite fishing TH-camr!!!! Show your kids my cousins channel DUDE PERFECT!
Thanks for watching brotha!
@@fvsoutherngirlhey man, might need this boat but I'm north east of the border from yea😅
@lojofishing i feel like this would be a great new project for @ayofishing and @fishingwithnorm to add to the backyard pond
I just left a comment on Project Farm channel about what is the best preventative way to keep a hull clean and paint it. So go over to Project Farm and leave a comment about Lukes and other boaters dilemma. That would be a awesome collaboration of both these channels of the best way to get a bottom of a boat prepared. That would be one Hull of a video. Let's go
I don't want to be 'that guy' BUT.. I'm half blind in one eye from scraping barnacles without goggles. I deeply regret not grabbing a pair of goggles or at least glasses for that work
My uncle lost half his vision the same way. They're no joke.
Wear your eye protection Luke!
So a barnacle caused you to go blind?
He had eye protection while pressure washing barnacles.
Grinders and gloves are a good idea to
The extension cord running thru the water at 11:00 made me spit coffee. 🤣 I love this channel. 🤪
Just put some popcorn kernels in your pockets and when you come back out of it you have a fresh snack.😂
Reminded me of a survey I did on a Staten Island shipyard years ago. The welding machine had "extension cords" to get to the welders, the big alligator clips, the amps were high, even though it was drizzling, the overgrown dry grass caught on fire and was slowly spreading across the yard between puddles. :-D
My eyes got real wide 😂
Just a waterman doing waterman things.
The webo was the NancyA from the Ahearn family I used to keep my boat in the same lagoon I always admired her lines she caught many a monk fish snd many others good luck with her
It’s definitely awesome knowing the people working on the bridge are so appreciated.
I have a buddy working on a crane barge taking out parts of the bridge. So sad. Love the videos I wish I was closer seems like a blast to work for you!
Luke, you are a man amongst men , your willingness to help those affected by the bridge disaster will not be overlooked by man upstairs! Kudos to you my friend! Good luck selling your crabber!❤
Thanks Luke I hope to meet you sometime. Thanks for taking care of the Bay!
Great point. Luke had mentioned that the bay was being polluted by sewage allowed by the local government. They cleaned up Boston harbor by stopping the pollution that was allowed to be disposed there. Make the Bay Clean.
Thank you 🙏 crane operators for fixing the bridge and the wreckage!! I’m a hometown local to edgemere/sparrows point for my whole life !! It means a lot what your doing ..
Absolutely love learning all this stuff man, thank you for taking the time to share it! 🤙🏻
Nice to see a guy having fun, and working hard. Now get out there and catch me some crabs! 64 year old bricklayer. I love the rain! Best wishes from Historic New Castle Delaware!
Hey neighbor! Thank you for allowing me to relive my 20’s and 30’s through you! Nice we share the same Alma Mater! SoHK!!!
I’ll ‘click on’ that ..👍
I love seeing your camping and the antics that you are ready for. excellent love to meet you and your wife. crabber that you are! fun buddy.
Thanks for all you do, Luke!
Good luck selling the Webo
$10/gallon straight muriatic acid from Ace Hardware, wear a respirator rated for acids and goggles and gloves. Super effective, just did my boat that was covered. Spray, let sit, pressure wash, repeat. I know you’re already done but suggestion for next year 🤙
I use sulfuric acid it takes everything off.
I was surprised that any type of acid is allowed to clean the underside of a boat so close to the water. Isn't that harmful to the ecosystem or does it diapate with water?
@@327JohnnySS bring a big tub of baking soda to neutralize it when you're done. It becomes harmless once neutralized and diluted.
@@shortlivedglory3314 That makes sense. Thanks 👍
@@327JohnnySS lol tell me haven't spent time at a dock without saying you've never spent time at a dock
Man you are hilarious. One of the few videos these days I happily and intently watched the whole of. You remind me of Mike Rowe. Not afraid to get dirty and get in there to get things done even if you don't know exactly what you're doing. Keep it up man!
Extension cords in water, painting in the rain, I love it 😂😂😂
for rudders and props, nothing better than Muriatic-acid bro!!! On-Off is good the cleaning the sides of the boat before polishing the boat or for taking the rust of the screws that shows on the boat. Succes man.
I left a comment over on Project Farm channel about the this barnacle problem that Luke and other boaters. Maybe if enough people leave a comment on one of his videos he and Luke could do a collaboration video about the best way to prepare and persevere the underside of a boat. That would be one Hull of a video.👍
I've been doing Line-X material that was originally used on truck beds on the bottom of my boats etc and the life is far superior to paint. As well as cleaning barnacles and things of that nature come right off.
Guessing just getting it coated in a smooth fashion instead of textures,Ike it usually is in a bed of a truck??
Maybe Project Farm should do a video about what to coat a hull of a boat? That would be interesting.
@@james94582yeah that’s exactly what I was thinking. Definitely just get it smooth rather than textured and it would probably be wayy more durable. I saw a guy in our campground that had an older jeep on 37’s that was completely painted in textured bed liner, even parts of the interior, and a marine grade sound system so it was waterproof.
Awesome video!!! You are really funny in a good way!!! Thank you for brightening my day! ❤
I love the videos ! Don’t stop
Have to say I enjoy these longer videos. Keep it up bud.
Appreciate the boots on the ground perspective on the bridge. Super interesting to just see it as a local. P.s. Love your Content from Oregon
Everyone and their dog loves you Luke! Another great video! Thanks for sharing your shanagins!
Greg seems like a super cool dude ! Grade A helper !
I like how you guys are using the corded grinder above looks like 3 or 4 inches of water!! 10:46
I was just about to make the same comment
I came here to post the same thing, but was positive that I could not be the only one to notice that and post a comment on it.
You must not be a crabber
As long as the plug stays out of the water you fine..
If you use a cordless, and drop it, how would you get it back? That's what the cord is for genius.
You’re a good man Luke. Keep on keeping on!
I hope she finds a good home! Have a good weekend!
I get in over my head all the time I got projects that I’ve been doing for years cause I can’t afford to buy parts. I hope someday to get them done but maybe not love your stuff. Keep making.
Tiki lees ! Let’s go ! I live right across the water in millers island from the rear of the building! Use to take my jet ski down there a lot !
Wow, that overload test numbers just doesn’t compute. Awesome job Luke keep it up.
nothing like painting a boat in the rain, love the channel!
Luke, you're an inspiration! You make me appreciate everything about Pasadena, especially my old roofer friends. All Hail Anne Arundel County!
The tug Douglas J (the one pushing the Chesapeake 1000 crane) on the bridge job is looking for someone who could sell crabs in the area. They’ve got no access to the pier so it’d have to be delivered. They are not looking for a hand out, give them a price!
I feel your pain the work never ends
Hope all is well in your part of the bay
Yeah, I’ve been wondering how, or if, all the sediment and what all other stuff coming down river is affecting crabbing. I mean, that seems like an awful big hit to the downstream ecology. I haven’t heard mention of this aspect before. At least you’re not going crabbing now anyway. Good luck to all of you down there.
@@paulstrickler5684 well find out here real soon when the run starts
The tide is high, but were movinging on! 😂😂😂 blondie from la t e 70s early 80s
Blondie is a great band and actually did the first rap song that was a mainstream video with Rapture. Clem Burke the drummer is also the top 5 Drummers on my list of thee best.
Once the Webo is painted. You'll get a buyer for sure.
She's looking good.
I wonder if the noise you heard inside the boat Was the duck getting trapped inside that box.
Cab looks great. Hope you sell the boat. You motivate me to create positive out of the worst.
Love the content brother
Hey! So an ol trick an ol timer taught me about keeping the paint shiny is lemon pledge! It keeps the gel coat hydrated and keeps that chalkiness gone
Man convert that to a charter boat for fishing or even a party boat. Clean it up a bit throw some safety equipment on it and send it.
Even an evening cruiser for bachelor parties, birthday parties, school trips, Eco trips.
You have the gift of gab and many school kids could learn a lot about the Bay and Eco systems from you.
Our to take people out on tours to see the aftermath of the terrible event of the Key bridge and bring some economy to the local businesses that are being effected by this tragedy.
Great ideas…
From my experience, when a crane is load tested, going beyond rated lift capacity by 10% is the standard so while 100 extra tons sounds like a huge number, the operators want it proved to that number. They also know that it could go higher.
Luke, Good work man, Please do not wear safety googles when scrapping barnacles off ya boat cause you sure dont wanna miss a chance to git a nice barnacle piece in your eye!!! Lol, They are just too much fun aint they!!?? Good luck sellin her buddy!!!!
Southern girl, keep going with the great content with safe travels on land and sea.👍
Oh look inspector gadget on water patrol 😂😂 Still can’t believe that container ship ran into the Francis Scott Key bridge. So sad. Keep what you’re doing Luke. You’re making a difference in the world just by you being you. Watching from SC 🇺🇸
Love the videos
Love you baby, your a great influencer. I follow you all around ive done everything you've done on your boat. Painting, replacing wood, scraping, electrical repair, stay safe, wear gloves and safety glasses. But ive never painted in a foot of water thou. Good luck, Luke, I love you, Kenny from Flint Michigan.
Good luck on selling your boat. Sorry if I missed it selling if it has. Hope it did? Thank you for a great video.
You’re the man Luke
Luke, watching you work on your junk makes me feel better about working on my junk! Nothings perfect… but you make do!!
on & off will help with the barnacles but not the whole thing. You have to scrape off the majority of the shell then apply on & off with a brush or foam roller and it dissolves the left over barnacle "dimes" quite well. Give it anther shot sometime.
Another trick, Spray pain your underwater metals (props, shafts, intakes, keel cooler) with rustoleum cold galvanizing zinc paint. It is the same composition as Petit barnacle barrier except less expensive and easier to remove for recoating in the spring. Its very effective for keeping growth off underwater metas and props.
It's a long way around! I have a 21ft mako and a 28ft Grady which is actually 33fr! It's never ending! Grady transom is getting rebuilt now don't know what they were thinking they put a pretty piece of metal and screwed into the transom making a way for water to go straight in! The wood swelled at the top but not rotted at all! Boats! Lol good job good luck selling the boat
Love this channel
ayyy barnegat light...
ive driven that exact travel lift, then i got in trouble because I wasnt insured to drive the travel lift... after i pulled out like 5 boats
These high tides in the upper mid bay is crazy im here in bowleys quarters every night it’s in the yard
bruh sitting here watching you ignore that hanging piece of gunk on the transducer has got me going crazy lol @5:56
was searching for this comment 😭
@@darianallen2454 i think he did it on purpose lol
I actually work on bridges, mostly highway bridges but I've definitely worked with bigger cranes and I'm in Pennsylvania. However that crane is pretty damn massive. I may be coming down to see what's going on with the rebuild but it's still too early to kno about breaking ground as far as starting the actual work.
Luke, as a guy born and raised in Maryland and now living in Florida, you are my favorite TH-camr. Good luck to you in your future endeavors.
My bride and I are traveling to the outer banks area from upstate NY for vacation. We are planning on an overnight in your area to one, support the area, and two, get a glimpse of the operations on the bridge AND three, get some seafood at Jimmy's 😊. Staying in Glen Burnie for at least one night, maybe more. We prefer to travel without reservations! Less planning = more fun!
Enjoy it! You won’t regret eating at Jimmy’s!!
Jimmy's was incredible! I had the crab cakes which were the best I've ever had! The missus had the scallops which were awesome as well! Great place and incredible eats.

Morning Luke
Spokane,WA
Great video
Dude you gotta make a fully electric boat
Yalnk that inboard and slap An electric motor right to the prop shaft
Solar panels on the roof to help offset charging costs
If you mix in Cayenne pepper into your bottom paint. Then it helps because when they start trying to eat through it. It gives them a spicy taste and they don't stick
Wow, really? That would make sense. I left a comment over at Project Farm about Lukes and other boaters dilemma. Maybe he will do a video collaboration with Luke? I guess the paint would coat the pepper as it wears. Is that a Cajun thing and have you ever seen the channel Dat Louisiana Life? They do alot of videos of the rulal swamps and bayous while living there. Good stuff.
Wow, it’s from Barnegat Light!? I work up there. Terrible place to work in the summer though, 45 min drive for like 10 miles
I bottom painted in the rain in the northwest. Take your masking tape and run a strip of tape around the water line with the tape folded backwards in half on itself. The bottom half of the folded tape will stick out and make a drip line that the rain will run off of instead of running down onto the bottom.
The school of hard knocks. It lets a lot of people in, but it doesn't let a lot of people out. Love it and I might have to steal it! 😂
Mate, I agree, time seems to go at warp speed when you've got ayour boat on the hard stand. My last session up on the slip was planned for 3 days, ended up being 7!. Did you end up doing prop-speed Antifoul on your propeller?
I have some pics of the WEEKS 533 which is the largest "revolving" floating crane on the east coast. What a beast!!! I wouldn't doubt if it's on site to work.
Down here in Florida we used Pettit Black antifouling paint
The duck is fun y u did say u hear someone up there lol
love the new merch
You going to run catfish gear this year, I was a cook at a catfish restaurant for my first job i have a good basic recipe for fried catfish based on theirs minus whatever they have for seasoning in their breading
"Come together together" 😂😂😂😂 looks great
Barn paint dose work we use it down here in Va for our crabpots
Jimmy's Seafood is fire, used to eat there all the time when I lived on that side of town.
The reason why the acid based cleaner is turning the webo lettering green is because it's copper based paint which is what many bottom paints contain and the acid is leaching the copper from the paint.
I absolutely love your work ethic and these vlogs are pretty educational and entertaining. Great job Luke!
3:44 it also protects when you run up on a bar
Have you ever thought of the possibility of putting a tunnel in the hull, it would probably set you back 3 or 4 grand, but in the long run you could gain 1 foot of water. my day and I had the same issue oystering in south Texas that we built 2 -40 foot V hull boats with tunnel drives that enabled us to work in 3 foot of water.
Gotta love the extension cord chillin in the salt water. OSHA is....somewhere....definitely not anywhere near that boat yard.
Oh wow! McCluskeys is close to me.I was thinking your boat would be some where in AACO
Question? Could you pressure wash the barnacles off / the under side of the boat ?
Hey Luke, on props I use a grinder or drill with course wire wheel...
Another Classic!!
liken the little Shamrock behind the Webo !!
Luke, i May not be a crabber, and i May not have a boat, and i may live in a state with No water for activities 🤣, But i absolutely love watching your videos. and they make my day so much better ,and just Good videos 💪 thank You!
Why not repurpose webo to a ferry boat until the bridge is replaced ?
Hey, pneumatic scaler/needlee any good for removing the barnicles?
IDK why I’m so entertained by your utterly chaotic life 😂
It's the way he makes jokes about it rather than getting pissed off. He rolls with the punches is ok with everything not being ok.
That duck might have been your "Stow away" lol
Would coating it in beez wax work or some kinda oil stop build up
I’m curious as we in Australia we antifoul our props and rudders to stop the barnacles and growth
Use your pressure washer with a sand pick-up. Works like a charm.
the works toilet bowl cleaner works like on off
Strange stuff from the dollar tree, that's for sure. Cleans the shit out of my bathroom thats for sure.
I left a comment over on the Project Farm channel about what is best for cleaning up a hull. Maybe if enough people go over there and leave a comment after watching one of his videos he will reach out to Luke and they could do a collaboration video of this subject that effects most people of that Salt Life?
Wish I had access to a boat lift. Here in Norfolk Cobbs is the only game in town and they’re high dollar for haul out. Even charge you for the work you do. If I had the money would love Webo someone will want to
That teal Shamrock!!!
Luke you have my dream job...............Ive always wanted to be either a Crab Fisherman or a Lobster-man up in Maine.
