Thank you for explaining the power to sound ratio. Over all the years of changing my stock exhaust to custom, no one from OH to KY to MD to TN back to KY has ever done this. My next custom upgrade exhaust will be hopefully done by you.

I love your project
With all the knowledge of exhaust theory and the real world experience I would love to see you guys make some wacky exhaust that are solely focused on making very unconventional sounds. Let’s say an Audi straight 5 with stepped headers, 5 into 1 etc. I think it would get a lot of views too
Would love to get to that point as we have some crazier ideas than that… main hurdle is the outlay in time and cost, our channel is still a massive drain on our day to day that we are hedging as a future investment. Our content still revolves around what we got in the shop… for now!

Just some loving observations. You guys do such nice work, I'd love to see little touches like, not using that blue crimp connector, shrink over the joint. Spring clamps on the vac fittings, anti corrosion on the ground. Look that kind of stuff.

9:24 Exactly, Friburber and the Steves on Engine Masters talked about that when they did their muffler tests. How far away from the end of the collector or collector extension do you put an X or H or even your mufflers. When the muffler shop did my side exit they cut the stock muffler and rear section out, so in faction my newer muffler starts only 3 to 4" from the OEM placement. in a 4 door truck, thats plenty of distance from the manifolds and also the Y collector. Did it add horse power, yeah, how much no clue, when youre starting with 235, less restrictive/sound restrictive muffler might get you 5, maybe if I spent $700 + labor on a set of shortys (Because of packaging) that 5 might turn it to 12, not worth the $$$ when I made 20 just from a hand tuner for half the cost.

The exhaust looks and sounds killer. However unless they aren't going to take this off road, running side exit exhaust under frame sliders won't work well off road. Billy looks like he can do some killer fab work. Try making a solid set of sliders that has a spot for rhe tips to pass through!

Wow very interesting x-pipe there, that 5th pipe probably doesn’t flow very well but when it’s in quiet mode that’s not important anyways, when those valves open up and the x-pipe scavenging goes into play that’s when the party starts I love it.

loved this one, i share a similar exhaust philosophy, every tuner car of mine gets a tig-welded stainless masterpiece, and in some cases, you have to go back in and make changes to get the sound right. "louder is better, straight pipe everything!" is for ricers. hard to enjoy a performance car when its obnoxiously loud. it's gotta sound right.

I'll take the one with a Quiet Low Rumble over the Ear Piercing Raspy Sound.
Even if it meant losing 5-10hp
Rasp is absolutely unforgivable in custom exhaust construction. We wont rest until every car has a rasp free aftermarket exhaust option!

Why still using vacumn actuators vs electric?
I currently have a x pipe and a y pipe setup on my A6 3.0t so it sounds pretty similar to an inline 6, it was done originally to eliminate rasp and I got rid of most of it. It still rasps a bit under heavy load. But I'm looking for other ways to make my supercharged v6 sound a bit more unique and exotic, Any ideas?

Did you use the same cutouts as in the link you provided?
The link doesn't seems to include the vacuum lines, control box and the electric controller.
So sorry, I guess the wrong link ended up in there. I have updated it to the controller link! We order our valves from Stainless Bros, but any vacuum actuated valve will work with that controller.

No problem OJ I did find the vacuum controller after a bit of research.
I'm thinking about installing cutouts on a 72 Corvette, and I was interested in vacuum system instead of electrics.
My concern was exactly that, how to operate it without tapping into the vacuum system of the car.
I have a Sniper EFI on a 454 and I didn't want to mess with the vacuum.
You provided me the answer to my dilemma Sir.
