@@EvieAswiti Any real proteins such as: keratin, silk amino, herbal remedies such as henna. You can purchase them yourself and add to conditioner or purchase products containing them high up in ingredients lists. There are also binders such as Olaplex, and Shea moisture but these are not true proteins although they *do* patch the hair, with addition of cones.. leaving it smooth instantaneously. Hope this clarifies.
@May-tai Henna is amazing. That's what I use. I also think keeping a product like Joico Moisture Recovery balm in rotation is smart. It gives so much moisture and softness but it also has hydrolyzed keratin. Joico is king of keratin protein.
A lot of my female friends tell me that they can only wash their hair once a month because if they do anymore than that their hair can get dry & damaged. As you can see your living proof washing your hair everyday actually gets your hair & scalp healthier. My question to you is does washing your hair everyday make it harder to retain length?
I've started the Anthony Dickey method recently by co-washing every day or every other day and shampooing once a week. I like having my curls reset so often, and my hair not feeling dry after 3 days.
I have watched and listened to Anthony Dickey for years. He promotes daily co washing and shampoo once a week for tight kinky coils. What encouraged you to wash daily?
I love your videos & your hair looks cute & healthy. My only question is, how do you dry your hair? I would think the hooded dryer or diffuser would cause dry, stiff hair. Please advise. Thanks!
I just _literally_ got out of a argument/debate with a professional who is very dogmatic about *not* doing wash n go's and " *not* doing twists....smh She has much good tips but wayyyyy to strict unecessarily.
I have to wash my hair every day if I go swimming. Chlorine and salt are not things to remain in my hair. I'm not swimming at the moment as I've changed up my routine. Usually, I have no problems hoping in the shower multiple times a week with a co-wash, swimmer shampoo or a sulfate-free shampoo. I don't use the sulfate every day because that definitely dries my hair and sensitive scalp out. My trichologists didn't recommend that for my scalp so I'm not doing that. Otherwise, I am not one of those black women who run from water. Lol! I could never be a straight-hair natural. Lol! I like swimming too much. Lol!
@@EvieAswiti I like to tell people that my hair was designed for the heat and daily swimming in the mighty African Rivers of the Nile, the Niger, the Zambezi, the Congo and the Limpopo. 😅🤣😂🙈I cannot imagine my ancestors running from water. Water is life. 😁
Also do you find you’re hair is retaining length without the protective styles? I hate protective styles I’m currently wearing only the ones with my natural hair, I’d love to go with my hair out fully but im worried about length retention since im at twa stage xx feel free to make a video about it if that’s better but I’d love your opinion! Xx
@Zowgie My hair is growing out pretty well. I can’t complain about the length retention, in fact I think since my hair is exposed to sunlight, water and my diet is good, there’s a less chance of it breaking off due to dryness, other stressors etc. I think I’ll do a video about length in the future, it might make sense when my hair is straightened so y’all can see it.
Do you have any suggestions on what to do with your hair if it gets matted? I’ve started washing everyday but my hair becomes matted after drying no matter how much I detangle. I have THICK hair. This is my first time wearing natural hair since actually caring for my hair so I’m not used to it having any length (it’s shoulder length stretched at the longest parts.) At this point I’m thinking about cutting it or only wearing my hair in cornrows.
@@christinavmillsI use the Carols Daughter Goddess Strength shampoo, conditioner, and leave in every time I wash my hair. It always looks awesome until it dries. It’s almost like my hair wants to loc up.
@@twcrazy Yeah… I actually wore locs for some time for literally that reason before I shaved my head and started over. It really does takes a lot of effort to keep hair loose as it gets longer
Girl, it's 5 months! Do any of y'all know the average rate of hair growth? Some of y'all act like hair is supposed to shoot out of our heads at 5" a month.🤣 Anyway if you look at the videos she has with her hair straightened you can easily see the progress and it looks very healthy.
Yeah but 5 months after you did not grow even a inch. It is not griw cause you are domaging your hair. It is gonna thinning your hair out as crazy and kill it.
@@EvieAswiti I m talking sciences how you think you going to retain length if you put water everyday in your hair?? Why do you feel that you have to cut because of damages... Don't do that madame. Stop if you want good hair if you need your length to stay where It is just continue... You will remember this statement when 1 year after you have the same length or you have to cut splits ends or damage hair again...

I love that you’re a gardener! Thank you so much. It’s been fun to be enlightened on this journey and to switch things up. Happy you’re trying out a different schedule for the summer, let us know how that goes!
Appreciate you for watching and sharing. Thanks for the compliments! 🌸
So if someone doesn't wash their hair every single day, they're not clean?
I have done conditioning my hair daily for 10 years and clarify one a week. I’m 65 and now working on having shoulder length hair
You can do it!
I love washing my hair every two days, in the summer months yes every day wash is amazing. ❤❤❤ thank you for making this video.😊
You’re so very welcome 🤗
Can i just say your voice is really calming and i use these videos to go to sleep lol 🤍 keep up the amazing work!
Thank you so much! You’re so sweet 🥹 💕
There’s a TH-camr I watch she washes her hair everyday and no surprise other black people trying to get on her for it,if isn’t uncommon for some black people to wash their hair everyday, with all the hair gels and constant hair styling some NEED to wash more frequently.
Yep. I used to have a lot of forehead acne from edge control, gels, etc. Once I washed my hair more, no more bumps.
Who is it?
Love this for you!! I got a big chop recently so I will try a regimen similar to this.
I just learned about Anthony Dicken's Wash & Go method: to do a wash & go daily. So I may start to co-wash daily then shampoo & deep condition weekly. God bless
Yes, the Dickie Method espouses daily wash & go's for type 4 hair.
Love this! God bless you too and thank you so much. ☺️
New subscriber here. I wash my hair daily. My scalp feels so good when the water is hitting my scalp. If you have time can you share more of your journey, how short was your hair when you started. My hair is a little shorter than yours. Thanks for your great videos
Welcome! When I started my hair was an ear/jaw length bob. Now it’s a little bit past my chin. Thanks for watching and sharing!
Note! If you have fine damaged hair, you need a strengthening treatment to do this.
Which one do you recommend?
My hair has been growing out pretty well so I think it promotes length retention
I've started the Anthony Dickey method recently by co-washing every day or every other day and shampooing once a week. I like having my curls reset so often, and my hair not feeling dry after 3 days.
scalp access is so nice
I have watched and listened to Anthony Dickey for years. He promotes daily co washing and shampoo once a week for tight kinky coils. What encouraged you to wash daily?
I wanted to see what would happen to my hair if I did what ppl told me I couldn’t. Been hooked ever since.
Skin looks amazing!! Happy it is working for you
Thanks so much hun!
Please do a video on how to be confident with short hair.
Noted!
You and your hair are beautiful.
Thank you so much ☺️
I just went from washing every 2 weeks to washing it weekly. I feel like my hair is thicker, and healthier. Maybe one day I'll wash it weekly
That’s amazing!
Yay! This video is great queen, team shrinkage😊
thank you ☺️
I’m not the only one! 😊
I love your videos & your hair looks cute & healthy. My only question is, how do you dry your hair? I would think the hooded dryer or diffuser would cause dry, stiff hair. Please advise. Thanks!
Thank you, love! I use a handheld dryer with a diffuser attached to it. Been working for me the whole time!
i am going to try this because I have scalp problems that make my hair itch.
Sure give it a try for a week and report back!
Watch kinky hair chemistry, she has 4 videos that are very informative (heads up, video 3 is pretty long)
@@lunamufonYep I've been sharing her videos everywhere. She is the one who convinced me to start and stick with daily washing.
Do you use leave in conditioners/ styling products, or just shampoo and conditioner? I’m definitely gonna start washing my hair more frequently 🎉
I do! Here’s my video on products I use.

I just _literally_ got out of a argument/debate with a professional who is very dogmatic about *not* doing wash n go's and " *not* doing twists....smh
She has much good tips but wayyyyy to strict unecessarily.
well that’s no fun ☹️
cyn doll?
...wait. No wash and goes OR twists? So what are we supposed to do? 😂
Those are pretty much my go to styles, plus twist outs and braid outs.
Wait, what's wrong with twists??
@@randomchicaontheinternet9971probably lol.
Lol!
As a person who also enjoys swimming, I love this for us.
Can we see a wash day?
How do you dry it?
Do you detangle with a brush?
Love your curls! I also noticed my 4a hair feels better and curls better the more i rinse or wash...and yes....less tangles...it's just hair (;
Yessssss! You know what time it is!
Let your hair get past midback I'm sure you will rethink daily washing
Give me a year and a half!
Some people don't mind putting the work in for the sake of hygiene honey.
I got told off because I told a black woman that she wash her hair more often! By the way, I'm black too!😂🤣
I don’t know why that’s so offensive?
What do you do with it at night ? Do you just put on a bonnet ?xx
Sometimes I do. I have a satin pillow case so a bonnet is optional.
@@EvieAswiti makes so much sense! I think I’m going to try this out
@Zowgie Let us know how it goes! I’ll be waiting 🙇🏾♀️
Are you putting product in your hair? You might need a good leave in conditioner.
So I really recommend putting some sort of oil after your leave in conditioner when washing. Have you tried that and it still matts?
@@EvieAswiti I haven’t tried oil. Do you have one you recommend trying?
Detangling my hair rn 😂😂😂😂😂 okay fineee

@TheChocBeauty you’re so welcome! appreciate you for watching
I see little to no hair growth in 5 months....even with Shrinkage, you should see some progress.
Okay. Thanks for watching!
I’ve cut my hair 3 times this year. Not sure why you’re speaking ill will over me. Very weird and I rebuke it in Jesus name 🙏🏾
@rhunieangella5424 Yeah no. Next caller.
even non naturals don't wash every day. but it's your hair. it does look a little dry but if you like it do it
@@Lordsesshomaru2019 your passive aggressiveness is funny lol. but yes, I shall continue.
@@EvieAswitiso glad you addressed this. Hopefully she'll get the healing she needs, but until then she needs to be snarky to who hurt her.
Her hair looks super soft, don’t do that.
@@southernmom9310 yeah I’m a human being who reads comments and occasionally responds to viewers who attempt to “read” me. It won’t work!
Dry? Are you blind? And we aren't talking about what non naturals do. Some of them out here with stank greasy heads too. Keep walking around with them musty smelling wigs. We'll be over here smelling fresh. At this point it's about improving hygiene.
