Only break rules you have mastered, otherwise it won't work for you. Also she has short hair. This will be completely different for someone with long hair.
@@gmogottago7746 Well I have been natural my whole life and am 37yrs old. My type 4 hair gets to thigh length unless I cut it. Now after a recent cut it is at the small of my back. And I say again, only break rules you have mastered otherwise you will have problems. Just the time it will takes you to dry your long hair will put you off of washing it everyday. But if you have the time, good for you. Rules are there for a reason, understand them first before you attempt to break them. Otherwise you won't have much success especially if your goal os length retention. Right now I don't care about length because I already achieved it by understanding those rules and modifying them to suit my hair and lifestyle.
Yeah bc we already know that we’re being charged a ‘luxury tax’ for natural hair. I’m not falling for the okie doke anymore unless I truly stand by the brand.
to be fair I washed my hair everyday at one point, it was nice and hydrated but always wet as didn't blow dry. Nothing bad happened to my hair and I grew my hair to armpit length many times
Love shampooing my hair. I shampoo twice a week with a clarifying shampoo (Prell or Ion Hard-water shampoo) then follow with a conditioner. Days I don’t use a clarify shampoo, I Cowash with herbal Essence Hello Hydration. I always use a leave in conditioner (Camille Rose Curl Love) and use a little bit of hair grease (Natures Blessings); apply a thin coat.
New Subbie here! You reply to the negative comments with such grace! You had me at “I rebuke this IJN!” I’m either co-washing or washing my hair everyday! I love it! I just cut my hair because it was growing uneven (thanks to post-menopausal shedding), so I’m hoping that it will be even more healthy now. I may try sulfates and silicones and see how that goes. I’ve read it’s better for us older ladies’ with thinning hair! You keep up with what you’re doing because it’s obviously working! 😊
hahaha i respond back just to check that they’re robots or not. I might give them a CAPTCHA prompt next time 😉 Welcome to my channel! Appreciate your open-mindedness and love that your hair is benefitting from daily hair washing. Let us know how the journey is and I’m curious to know what you feel about sulphates and silicones after you give them a go on your hair 💗♥️
I really enjoy your exploration of what does/doesnt work for your hair/lifestyle. I'm curious as to why you feel it necessary to use sulfates if you dont generally use styling products. I would think that it's a little harsh considering your hair isn't really dirty.
Actually we've been bamboozled. Many of the substitutes they put in sulfate free shampoos are just as strong (one was found to be harsher) than standard sulfates. It's all about the FULL FORMULATION not one ingredient...unless you have an allergy.
I recently bough the EVA nyc therapy session hair mask from Ulta and it was on sale. I agree with your review of how it makes once hair feel like butter. I have used it twice and will recommend.
Your hair and skin look so soft. How long does it usually take you to wash your hair everyday? I assume it’s quick because you do it everyday? I do something similar, but instead of shampooing daily I rinse in shower w/ water daily and add a spray leave in conditioner + oil afterwards and then shampoo/condition every four days. I also use sulfates and silicones, my fav line is the L’Oréal dream lengths shampoo + conditioner. I have been doing this since January, and so far have retained 4 inches and my hair is manageable, clean and shiny. I am thankful for this video because I have been looking for more coily haired black women who make content about daily hair washing.
Hey boo! Thank youuuu. Yeah it’s pretty quick. I take long showers though so I would say with washing me, my hair and blow dry I can get it done in 30-45 min.
Hey Evie !! I am loving the pink on you it's bringing out all of your beautiful features Do you have a link to the earrings😍? And I am totally with you on using whatever works for MY hair regardless of who it's meant for. I really only "splurge" on hair mask/deep conditioners I really like shea moisture Manuka honey line but I have wanted to test Camille rose I have never understood the sulfate debacle in the natural hair community. Love how you shaped the fro the curls look fabulous Girl!
Thank you doll! I absolutely used to love the Manuka Honey line! I haven’t used it for years though. I wish I could give you the link to the earrings but I bought it off a hairstylists who sold jewelry at her studio when she was giving me a silk press last year. Thank you for the compliment! With me not wearing makeup on camera this time I like to dress it up with color and jewelry to balance it out.
Oooh this one was for me🤣Loved the video sista💋 surprised at the choice for shampoo/conditioner but i’ll def give it a try! For whatever reason my hair only responds well to professional haircare but my wallet is TIYAD! Also that creme of nature spray is the TRUTH! Used it all the time when i was relaxed and natural. Also sooo happy u got onto the Lamellar Water (or in this case Wonder water) wave! It’s soooo good, i even replaced my conditioner with it since i’m fine haired.
Lamellar water is a hair science godsend bc excuse me???? so good. I too enjoy professional products but they’re not always ‘better’ so to speak. Thank you for watching!

You do realise that is how Type 4 hair looks like without all those thick oils and think butters that give shine right? We've been told not to wash our hair often as natural girls, but your hair actually gets more manageable the more you wash it. Personally once a week is good enough.
@@ajpristine4809 wrong again…..my mother has type 4hair. 4c-4z type we wash her hair every 2 weeks and set it. Stays moisturized and looks and feels healthy. Over washing the hair is damaging to the cuticle by opening and closing constantly.
@@leoskiss3390 Washing your once a week is not damaging to the cuticle at all. Washing once every two weeks is good too. Do what works for you. Your way is not the highway. For someone like me who developed scalp issues from not washing frequently , once a week helps. May try biweekly eventually.
omg yayyyyy - 1st of all, congrats on the big chop!!!! it’s perfect timing since it’s spring summer right now. 2nd, yes for the TWA vibé! It gives pixie cut vibes but you don’t have to do anything to it like finger waves, etc.
She's breaking all the natural hair rules, and I'm watching this space with wondrous joy and curiosity!
Rules are meant to be broken 😜

Yesss! I’m here for the natural hair girlie content! I just big chopped 3 months ago and finally wearing my TWA! 🩵
Natural hair girlie content is so important. This new era of natural hair commentary is pretty polarized, so I’m happy to add my two cents.

I big chopped and wash my 4c low porosity every day. My hair barely sheds doing this. It also helps take away any scalp itch.

Yep. I don’t know what they put in this formula, but gone are the days of sulfates being the bad guy in modern haircare. Holy grail status! 🏆
