    Key takeaways:
    1. Identify your body signals, if you are not into it, then try meditation.
    2. Know what makes you stress and try to reduce it. Try to become more positive in life, reduce negativity and stay away from toxic atmosphere.
    3. Find what soothes your body, a massage, a sun bath, a shower with lukewarm water with aroma or anything which you like.
    4. Go to nature, walk 20 minutes in nature, touch plants and trees, if you like it.
    5. Eat complex carbs, fermented foods, try to eat as much as diverse food you can try in a week especially vegetables.
    6. Give time to poop, and stay away from distractions like reading and using smartphones. Use Indian toilets, basically the way Indians sit when they poop.
    7. Take vitamins test, especially Vitamin D and Vitamin B12
    8. Try a food for at least 3 days to check if that suits you, stay away if that food makes you bloated

Eating less dense foods as possible. Take in fruit juices and water. Fast more. That will heal the gut. The process is simple. It's no need to make this laundry list to healing the gut because much isn't needed.

I thought I could never quit coffee, but the feeling was amazing once I did. Coffee decreases brain blood flow and, as it is a mild laxative, it leaves you constipated after a while, if you have a sensitive gut. After a month, I had one cup of coffee, and it did nothing for me, I'm not addicted to it anymore, I will treat it as alcohol. I will have it once in a while if I feel like it. The odd thing is I never feel like having it, though I thought I could not live without it.

Well yeah, it's not like the stuff is delicious or anything. If there was no caffeine in it, coffee would have been relegated to an ingredient in some super supplement , for whatever reason it could have been hyped up about. I really appreciate that she incorporates an intuitive/psychological/wholistic approach in working with her clients. This has been missing from western medicine since the beginning. Digestion certainly changes over time and with different circumstances/ places we live/experiences we’re going through etc and I’m glad acknowledged that as well. I had a friend years ago who was diagnosed with fibromyalgia but refused to consider a psychological component to the disease and opted for invasive surgery before pursuing any kind of psychological treatment/therapy. We should be looking at ALL things.

@@ThaTurdBurglar there's no vinegar in the fermentation process. It's a bacterial growth in vegetables submerged in water with salt. Just finished watching the 13:38 video of Sarah Greenfield chatting about gut health, pool, nutrition, eating a balanced diet, and the importance of probiotic supplements. Thanks for your work on this project. And now, I am going to go drink another two glasses of water...

I just recently watched this video and found it very informative! I don't necessarily have any specific issues but the concepts overall were helpful. My biggest takeaway though? The comment about having a goal of so many whole foods per week. That was huge for me! I am very goal oriented and teling myself to shoot for 30 (maybe eventually 40!) different whole foods per week. I love this! I am jotting them down and it is motivating to see how many healthy foods I can get into a week. I am not eating to lose weight but to be HEALTHY! Thanks for this video! Really enjoying your channel.

I believe that idea came from Dr Greger’s latest book. I’ve noticed a lot of nutritionists, dieticians and TH-camrs are picking up on it, which is a good thing. He’s my go-to for any dietary advice because he’s always ahead of the pack and backs everything up with science.

Always good to eat healthy foods, exercise and maintain an ideal microbiome. Even if you do everything right many women develop bloating and this can often be the result of abdominal tumors. It can affect you in many of the ways described here and hard to diagnose without radiology. It can go undiagnosed for decades. Ladies if you have daily progressive bloat you may have a bigger issue not solvable by lifestyle choices. As someone who suffered this I strongly recommend getting a full pelvic scan. It may save you from major surgery, organ loss, early menopause and a long long painful recovery.

I had an allergy test and I'm allergic to 101 of 113 foods. It's very limiting and I fear Im getting lack of nutrients and variety. It used to be years ago I could eat whatever I wanted, but suffered IBS.
I eat organic whole foods and cook from scratch the foods that need cooking. I'm also histamine intolerant but have to ignore that just to be able to eat. I can take DAO for it because I lack the enzyme. I also don't methlylate folate so I have to take methylated folate. They did not test me for lack of methylation of anything else. I have mast cell activation syndrome which is not an allergy, but I can go into anaphylaxis with that. I have had leaky gut diagnosed and inflammation in my brain following a car accident and multiple injuries. I really appreciate this content so I can understand things a little better. I will discuss with my doctor the recovery from elimination diet suggestion. My allergist said that after I recover from surgery that my inflammation may go down and I may be able to try the foods I was least allergic to one at a time because they may drop down on reactivity on the allergy scale by one level.
Thank you for posting the interview. It gave me a lot to think about with things I can do to be more proactive. I hadn't heard of you before, but you just gained a new subscriber today.

I am a 61 year old who has been vegan for 5 years, I have never felt healthier. There is no way I would ever go back to eating meat. There is also heaps of research out there from non biased sources that support this. This research indicates that the vegan diet is healthy for all people. It reduces inflammation and lots of veggies, fruits, nuts and legumes increases and diversify gut microbiome. Not eating animal products also eliminates the antibiotics and chemicals within these products that kill off good gut bacteria. I also no longer have any issues with cholesterol and blood sugar.

Was mostly vegan, vegetarian & strictly whole
foods for about 7 years. Got super skinny ( not a goal , but a side effect) had a violent kundalini event. Starting craving meat, my body did, my mind was still conflicted. Yet, my body needed it. I never enjoyed sugary types of food, or too much meat or seafoods. Although my family did somewhat growing up, we ate decently well in comparison to the way foods are now. Now, I enjoy intuitively eating & it is serving me well so far.

    • @MM-li8nk
      @MM-li8nk 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

There's also heaps of non biased research out there that supports the opposite. It's not cookie cutter for everyone. Vegan was NOT good for me in any way shape or form - bloods and physical impact was not good. Glad it's working for you. It's not a blanket solution for all. (Re: minute 43:00 in the video). It is difficult when one follows highly educated medicos flying the 'plant flag', but there's also just as many highly educated medicos flying the more 'quality meat based flag'. Navigating these opposites is challenging. Perhaps it's something in between for most of us (as referenced in this video) and some of us need more plant based and others more animal protein? Imho I think quality is a missed opportunity most don't talk about. Detoxing and having healthy mitochondria is super important, not poisoning your system with toxins year on year. Whatever one consumes needs to be quality. All food groups in our mainstream food supply systems are prone to toxins, contaminants, bad bacteria, chemical additives etc due to its processing e.g. spraying, soil depletion etc etc . Quality always - no matter which 'flag' your food choice sits under. I don't eat meat with antibiotics or chemicals, so its not the meat that's the problem, its the additives. My cholesterol is also perfect, great HDL to Trigs ratio. Never had blood sugar issues. However, I wore a CGM for 3 months recently and the only foods that spiked my insulin was high carb plant based food and my energy crashed afterwards. I'm a 57yo post meno F. I also don't eat for example berries or apples from mainstream stores. They're vegan friendly, but I wouldn't consume them for the exact reasons I wouldn't consume 'altered' meat - crap quality. To each their own. If one is truly doing well and living well, then they can sit under any 'flag' they want. Cheers and well done to them, I say! And to you, you appear happy and healthy and are doing great, so keep doing you.

You have an expert on microbiome health and you didn't manage to ask her the most important stuff right from the beginning? About how it works, what it needs, what is helping, what is hurting it. Instead you waste time over a silly questionaire about Gut Archetypes which are not about gut at all - these four emotional/temperamental archetypes are well known in psychology, no need to reinvent the wheel here. She didn't even give any usable suggestions what to do after you recognize your archetype. Two years of preparation for the interview that turns into a silly chit-chat... and I have nothing against silly chit-chat, just expected more from someone that carries fake poop in her purse 😂

WOW! This was true enlightenment. This truly came to me at the perfect time!
I was struggling with diarrhea for what feels like decades (it's definitely at least 1 year straight without end) and it made me feel miserable every single day. I'm autistic, I have ADHD, and I grew up with a covertly narcissistic mother, who made me feel unsafe all throughout my life. I never was diagnosed as a child and I grew up with an intense amount of stress. I'm trying to recover by accepting and loving myself more and finally enjoying life which was impossible to me before. My mom was also forcing me to have the worst diet. For example, I had Greek yogurt in the morning, one apple at school, and then nothing but water because my mother had 0 energy to make food for me even though she was unemployed. The Jojo effect was very intense to the point that I almost had full-on diabetes but I could avert it by precautional intake of metformin (which was expensive since I didn't have type-2 diabetes). After all of this I just barely ever had good poops it was always liquid and my stomach would hurt from having it inside.
Up until seeing this video I had 0 ideas about what was wrong with me. It's already hard enough to struggle with the thought of "I'm a broken person...What is wrong with me?" not only from a neurodivergent point of view but also from the gut side, too. And finally, I found answers to why my gut is doing the things it does! Tysm

leaky gut is caused by long term generalized inflammation which leads to food allergies when the body creates an antibody for a certain food. Healing suppliments that help regrow the lining of the intestines and taking a break from those foods but most importantly finding the cause of the chronic inflammation. For me it was chronic Lyme disease

veryyyyy interesting she said people should eat meat. animals that are meant to eat meat have very short intestines and animals that are meant to eat plants have very long intestines...and as most of us know- humans have very long intestines, completely unlike the inner workings of a carnivore. meat is meant to pass through your body very quickly, hence the short intestines needed...when meat has to travel through our long intestines, it starts to rot...as you are eating literally dead, decaying flesh.
was into what she had to say before this, but it's shocking to me for a functional medicine doctor to say mostly everyone should eat meat...

So, every single woman I know personally who has digestive issues have yet to give up refined sugar, processed food and/or alcohol. Once they eliminate these and replace with a strict whole food only diet and practice 24/48 fasting, they will heal their gut. 100% guaranteed. So that means no breads, cookies, crackers, cakes, pies, fries, burger etc. And definitely no alcohol. It's not complicated, but it is a journey.
