  • It’s possible to take a scoop of protein powder and turn it into soft serve ice cream!
In this video, I use the Ninja Creami and a few special techniques to turn a protein shake into an ultra creamy pint of ice cream.
Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy this video!

    Ingredients you’ll need:
    - 1 Scoop of Protein Powder (I used 25g)
    - 60g SF Maple Syrup
    - 5g Vanilla Extract (optional)
    - 30g Coffee Syrup (can substitute for Almond Milk + sweetener + extract of choice)
    - Pinch of Salt
    - 350g Almond Milk
    - Small Pinch of Xanthan/Guar Gum (less than .5g)
    - Sweetener (optional)
** Some great additions are Cocoa Powder, Chocolate Syrup, Pudding Mix, or any Extract (I love using Caramel Extract or Cake Batter Extract).
** Mix the ice cream ingredients together, pour into the jar, and freeze for 24 hours.
** To help the Xanthan/Guar Gum stir into liquid, whisk it into a small amount of almond milk (~100g). A coffee frother works great for this. Then add the rest of the almond milk and stir with a spoon to incorporate it all.

I’m eating this right now, and this is a game changer. A whole pint with 24g of protein and not too many calories, and it tastes legitimately like the real thing. I actually bought the Creami because of you, and I like how this recipe doesn’t use as much sweetener as the ones in the other video, meaning it’s a little cheaper. Thank you for posting this!
Edit: this is also the only vanilla protein ice cream I’ve made that was successful, which is a huge plus.

if you're being health aware, make sure you take a protein powder without sucralose, most of them use sucralose instead of a healthier sweetener
also when it comes to guar/xanthan, many protein powders already have both or one and adding more is unnecessary

    Here is an alternative recipe:
    1. A scoop or 2 of protein powder - the flavored ones are sweet enough, but add sweet if you need it
    2. 1 or 2 TBS CREAM CHEESE or the lowfat stuff - it provides the gums and emusification (smooth mouth feel and texture)
    3. Add water (crazy "milks" if you like, but why?)
    4. I add a small tsp of psyllium just for more texture, but unnecessary
Thats it - Sorbet setting rocks. First run is powdery - do not add any liquid - just run sorbet again or respin.
    Fantastic!

    • @upduhwhazoo6438

People use cottage cheese and say they like it....I thought it strange and kind of salty weird. Use the lower fat cream cheese if want to reduce fat in my opinion, but anything goes if you like it.....I think the entire idea of nut "milks" are strange and have never used them.....

I got a Creami for Christmas, and your reviews were a big part in wanting it! I would have otherwise thought it was just an overpriced ice cream maker.
Instead, I know it is a magical machine because I can just freeze a 20 oz can of pineapple and it makes Dole Whip (90% as good as the real thing)! I have been experimenting with how low calorie vs high protein as I can get. I have also started adding mix-ins like Biscoff cookies, Oreos, and peppermint chips; highly recommend it for the texture and taste.
So far the Creami more than lives up to the hype! Keep up the great work!

It domes, because the outside of the container freezes first, the center of the container takes longer to freeze. Since water actually expands when it freezes (other materials usually contract when they're frozen solid) - the water on the outside of the container pushes the water in the center portion up and out, eventually that freezes and then you get this dome occurring. You could try mixing it after an hour or two (just before it starts to freeze solid) to try and keep all the water at the same temperature, which may reduce some of the doming

My sister made a vanilla version-so good. 😋😋

  • @ehcoroche8689
    @ehcoroche8689 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

My favorite flavor is vanilla, and I've only found one good vanilla flavored protein powder and it's 60 dollars for 2 pounds, so instead I tried out getting unflavored whey, and using my own vanilla, and it's my favorite by far for making vanilla protein ice creams. I also have started using saccharin and allulose over other sweeteners since I hate the erythritol flavor/cooling effect in most things. Allulose for any 1:1 ratio, and saccharin for liquids or ice creams because I think it just tastes way better. I also haven't noticed any benefit to adding xanthan gum or guar gum so I just omit them entirely
The nice thing about this recipe is that if I decide I wanted a different flavor of ice cream I can just use a flavor concentrate like Lorann oils or mccormick baking extracts. I haven't figured out the ratios for things like strawberry extract to add to it to make a proper strawberry ice cream, but I suppose it's probably around 1/4 teaspoon
1 scoop of unflavored whey protein
4 Grains of Necasweet Saccharin(1/3 cup sweetener of choice)
top off with unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 tsp vanilla extract(I've went halfway between the max fill line and the top of the container quite a few times and never had any issues besides a bit of a dirty shaft on the ninja creami)

    • @RahulKamat
      @RahulKamat  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Nice! You got a customizable base. I found that getting a monk fruit + erythritol blend cuts down the cooling effect a lot

Great recipe! I honestly will go back and forth between the ice cream maker and protein ice cream. The issue is that the ninja cremi uses a lot of almond milk, and because you are eating the ice cream after it being in a frozen state for a long time, you have to add a lot of sweetener and syrups to make it taste as sweet as a protein ice cream made from a blender. I will go back and forth depending on the convenience I have, but I will be sure to use these recipies.

Really enjoyed this video as I just recently got a CREAMi. 2 Things ... 1. Do you have a video where you go over all of the ingredients you use in your videos ... so for first timers they have a list of ingredients to buy from the grocery store? 2. Have you thought about making a recipe book? Might be cool to compile all of the recipes you've created on TH-cam and put them into a recipe book ... and instead of charging for it ... give it away for free while making sure in each of the recipes you link each respective TH-cam video so it gets you more views, likes and subs. Cause people love a free recipe book. Then when you get more popular you can create more recipe books and charge for them (if you desire).

How would I add those and change the recipe? Half a can of pumpkin or medium sliced banana thrown in instead of 100g of the almond milk maybe?

    • @RahulKamat

How about using actual milk? Maybe 2% milk which has much more carbs than almond milk. Banana would work well too! Maybe some greek yogurt. Or add some cereal or a carb dense mix-in/topping

@@RahulKamat bruhh, switched to PES long time ago. Completely different league, their in a class of their own for taste and if you use in cooking (like I make FDLs mini cast iron cookies constantly) they have the perfect whey/casein blend for cooking (latter is why so many wheys are awful for baking).
I still use myprotein and have for years and years but only for a quick drink after the gym, as I love the Mocha flavor. But myprotein is awful for food or baking etc. If you liked Optimum (which ic ant stand lol), PES would be mind blowing as ice cream. I have the Peanut Cookie and Mocha (or maybe chocolate?) Cupcake right now. There's another PB one, think Peannut Butter Cup that's amazing but when I placed last order was out of stock.
But all these years I've just never cared for recipes with whey, untill trying PES, that whey/casein % just flat out works. I tried making the FDL cast iron cookies with Myprotein and they were pretty bad, terrible texture lol

My take is do this recipe, but stop after the first spin.

You should only spin it until it reaches a certain visual consistency, rather than just following the instructions to a tee. It'll turn out how you like it every time. Everyone's results are different due to their ingredient ratios or freezer temp.
