I have the A-Spec tech, so I don't have too much envy for this car with the subtraction of certain amenities like the moonroof and backseat compromises but higher sticker price. Besides that, glad to see you review this - it's a fantastic car regardless!
Sorry to say, it’s not the same at all. The engine, transmission and suspension are all different. I had a 1.5 L turbo civic, so I know the difference, and it’s huge.
@@kvpillai I would like to second that. I traded in my 2015 Civic Si for the Type S. It is a massive difference in performance. The people who prefer the A-Spec clearly don't value performance.
In day to day driving the difference in performance is not that big of a deal unless you drive crazy all the time. Regular integra is fast enough in regular trafic and can pass other cars with relative ease
The Acura Stealerships asking $70k for a car that does not have ventilated seats and navigation? They are killing these cars. Paying over MSRP should be banned in USA as it is in Canada.
It's ridiculous that you are singling out Acura, when it's basically all brands that do this. Acura is not particularly bad and I actually ordered an Integra Type S without add-ons for MSRP. The price, including all taxes and fees, minus trade-in, is $38,042.74. I'm okay with that price.
One thing I got from this is that it’s not a luxury car. Test drove this a few times it’s an excellent drivers car but a little too boy racer design. I tried the A spec too and it’s plenty fast a better daily and a lot cheaper even with a cvt
Looking at one of these in the very near future. Audi, Mercedes, and Tesla make some faster vehicles but am looking for involvement. I like the look of this car. It's performance isn't spectacular, but it's not terrible either. This is a very nice overall package.
You will not win a drag race of the line or traffic stop. Everything else is fantastic and will put a smile on your face. Looks really good and a bit more grown up than the Type R.
No rear vents. No ventilated seats or power adjustment for the passenger. Obvious cost-cutting and lapses in workmanship. No navigation. I can think of better ways to spend $55,000.
You must be bewildered that the team at Road & Track were seemingly hard pressed to do so, as they named the ITS Performance Car of the Year in the $100K and under category.
Nope. I don't want a car without an instrument panel and CarPlay. When it's time for me to trade in my Integra Type S, I will probably be buying another Honda. But that's 10 years down the road so who knows.
7:50 No sunroof, yet you get one on an A-spec? 8:30 No nav at $55k? 9:40 Fancy CTR LOL 15:55 Overpriced and overhyped. *RWD based cars by Honda/Acura these days: 0!* A reason why Acura is still tier II, unlike tier I MB BMW and Lexus.
AB, you must be bewildered that the team at Road & Track named your "tier II" ITS, Performance Car of the Year in the $100K and under category, over your "tier I" BMW M2. Of course Car and Driver also rated the ITS higher than those rivals. Same with Top Gear--recently named the CTR their Performance Car of the Year.

There are dealerships which are selling these for MSRP if you are willing to look outside the city. I bought it for MSRP and not a penny more.

Nice.
....from design perspective Acuras look like fashion models next to BMWs which remind AI mutation hybrids....

Get the model Y performance version, you’ll be glad you did… like me.
A model y performance? Why?
