All jokes aside, this "sport" is seriously entertaining and intense. Unlike other sports, they've started the tournament three years ago and it's all been DIFFERENT winners, no one team is dominating and the viewers never know who's gonna win next

I am trying to think of any professional sport that did not start out as a child's game. Football (all kinds), baseball, basketball, hockey, bowling, tennis, any track event you can name. So maybe auto racing is a professional sport that didn't start as a kid's game. Maybe when they invented golf in Scotland it started out as a man's game.

I'll never forget in year four when I was nine yrs old playing chasey with the other kids in my grade when all of a sudden the tallest and fastest out of all of us, alex, somehow got tagged. In his rage at getting tagged his eyes swept the oval looking for the easiest catch, thats when he spotted me, the fat asthmatic kid who's always last. Before he even flinched I somehow knew he was going to go for me, since I'd never won chasey, 40/40 or the other running "shit" everyone played. Knowing there was nothing I could do, that I was completely fucked whether I ran or not, snapped something in my fat little head. I started sprinting towards the school buildings thinking the more obstacles to dodge through the better, not knowing if he was even chasing me since I was to scared to look behind me and that would only waste valuable seconds. My only hope was to out maneuver him over rough terrain in a loop around the main school complex in order to reach home base, which was a bench back behind where alex was when he spotted me. Once I reached the end of the first big building I risked a glance back before completely committing to the asthma attack I knew was comming, and saw alex's face no further than a bus length away, arms and legs pumping, grinning maniacally. In my child like innocence, since I'd just watched jurassic park, I literally felt like a velociraptor was chasing me and my life was on the line. I ducked and weaved under and through the play equipment, ran through every bush and jumped in every shrubbery I could find as I rounded the the final block of buildings blocking the ovals entrance, and from there home base. I shit you not as I sprinted that last couple of meters to home base, not being able to breath, with his outstretched fingers reaching mere inches behind my fat arse, the touch of my fingers on that old wooden splinter ridden bench felt like pure vindication. I'd out ran the fastest kid I knew, despite my disadvantages. Knowing for a fact it pissed him off only made it sweeter ;)
I missed my calling. I was the smallest and fastest kid until highschool when my old friends, smoke and Shroom found me. I was still the fastest thing in the woods, too bad there wasn't anything actually chasing me.

@@autumnleaf2976 No-one's saying this sport is significantly more dangerous than any other, but the idea that no-one will EVER get seriously injured in this sport because they're all trained parkour athletes is ridiculous. Professional traceurs get injured all the time, tearing ligaments, breaking limbs, getting concussions, and that's when all they have to worry about is the obstacles in their path. Add in having to use half your attention trying to catch someone/escape being caught and people are GOING to miss jumps, land badly, or just get knocked over, to the point where significant injuries WILL happen.
Again, I'm not saying this sport is more dangerous than many others, I was just pointing out that thinking the answer to "How many of them bonk their heads?" is "None, because they're all trained athletes" is just plain ridiculous. The sport has only existed for a few years, as it progresses injuries will happen. That's just the price you pay for pushing the limits of what a human body can do. Add in lots of uneven and precarious metal obstacles that you have to negotiate while chasing someone at full speed and those injuries are likely to be pretty unpleasant. 😬
@@LoganBluth I get your point, but still there are people in comment section (not you and not the ones putting it out in a cheerful manner) who are making this sound like and kind of death ordeal. Obviously there are chances of serious injuries, but that should not prevent us from appreciating the level of fitness/skills these guys possess.
Even in this day and age people die playing sports, an F2 driver and an Australian cricketer died (rip 🌷) while engaged in their sports last year, to name a few, and they were pros. We as humans still carry on, determined to be more alert and trying to enhance safety however possible. Mishaps can happen anywhere, this does not mean we should stop enjoying things or stop seeking thrills.
Btw I understood your point, my this comment is directed mostly towards people who feel these guys in the videos are some chumps who don't know what they are doing.

We used to play a game called, "No Look Tag". On the Jungle Gym, the "It" person had to keep their eyes closed and the targets would taunt them. The ground was off limits. Great fun!

It's mixed, but I can't imagine a girls-only version working. Not many girls do parkour, and trying to force it would just ruin the bar kind of like women's basketball. Women's cheerleading and tumbling competitions have some crazy acrobatics tho.
