- This was a crucial Group A match between GNF and Hollywood Freerunners. GNF came into the tournament as the title favourites but lost their opening match against 5 Borough 3-0. If they didn't win this match they would have been eliminated from the tournament. Hollywood Freerunners won their opener 3-0 against Enso Movement so they were looking strong.

I know! I've never really been one to spectate sports either in the past, let alone get hyped and yelling at the tv XD but I'm all over this sport! It's amazing how much can happen in 20 seconds or less, there can be so much tension and drama in the high speed and tight movements!

The sportsmanship of all of these athletes is so nice. GNF visibly gasping and in shock when their opponent hurt himself. I'm sure they were thinking that that was not how they wanted to get the point.

Take note folks, this is how athletes are supposed to act.
Youve gotta do more replays guys. Basics of sports broadcasting. A fan almost watches for the replay as much as the live action. You're killin me here.
That and only a 20sec timer per round are my primary complaints. 20 seconds is just enough time for maybe 1 close call but its too short to get into it. I'd extend the field just a bit, maybe one more obstacle, and make it 30 to 45 seconds. And add a penalty for standing still for more than 2 seconds so it isnt just a stare down
@@DisDatK9I'm sure their rules exist for a reason. If you extend the time you probably increase the likelihood of getting tagged a great deal

Was blessed by the TH-cam algorithm with this vid and have discovered the great sport of chase tag. The graphic of Omar's knee was a very nice way to show viewers how tricky the obstacles are as well as reassuring them about athletes injuries. You've got a new subscriber :D

As kids, my bunch of friends and I never thought about playing tag with obstacles. Amazing!!!!!

we had something similar :) with obstacles and some platforms, and you have not been allowed to step on the ground :) only platforms :) and how many bruises and fractures we had :) BUT it was fun... now i think how we survived LOL

Anyways great to see WCT back again. This sport is fire, athletes just keep getting better every year
We were working with a different production team this year so the setup was very different and we didn't have super slow mo rigged into the main system. We did shoot some slow mo footage with separate cameras so we'll probably put out some edits once all the matches are out. Thanks for the support!!!

It is the first time I see this, and I have no idea why this sport was not invented earlier, it looks amazing, nobody wants to hurt the other one, just the pure fitness and skill you need to have. It looks a very fun sport!

I think it was a nice touch to show the rest of GNF's concern from Omar's fall; the win was less important than the well-being of competitors. Only see that lvl of sportsmanship in WCT.

You guys should add a group standing overview before the match
That's a good point. We're trying to figure out the best way of getting the group standings across. The last two matches (i.e. match 5 + 6) are usually the most importance ones.
@@WorldChaseTag There are a handful things you could addto your videos to engage more with the fans. Standings, team overviews before the match (who's competing, how are the individual athletes statistically compare to each other, where are they most likely to start or end a round as evader, chaser...?), post match analysis together with the athletes etc.
I agree with this. I am having a hard time recounting everything that has happened. Some sort of visual bracket would help immensely

This would be especially good for people who know nothing about sports; this is literally the first sport I've ever followed, so I'm kind of figuring it out as I go. I feel like because of WCT's online success there's probably a fair number of people watching who've never watched structured sports before; if people familiar with tournament styles are getting confused, we have no chance.

My TH-cam algorithm has never been so random, I’ve seen psychology videos, a segment of a Korean drama, how the fake ocean of the American army works, best moments in cliff climbing competitions and then this
i love this sport. look at how the evader stopped when the chaser fell. was really willing to give up the round to make sure he was alright. love the energy in this sport.
Hats off to all the players for their excellent sportsmanship and appreciation after each chase!

Seth is a great jumper. Some athletes have longer legs and look more powerful but Seth always proves himself.

Only in the 21st century can such a game exist: the childhood game of tag, plus the more adult sport of parkour. This is, outside of Olympic level gymnastics, actually quite satisfying to watch from time to time.

Since Ultimate Tag, seeing Omar always put a smile on my face, but watching that moment at chase 4 made me feel bad for him. Hope he gets better soon.

@@geoffreyporter6373 They have but the points system is not evenly doled out. GNF are going through to the quarter finals while HF has to fight one or two more times. And I think Enzo movement is out or if not out basically has to win a bunch more matches to win

Epic match between two of the favourites, i stay hooked till the end.
A chase tag anime will be very cheesy. Imagine characters doing tiger leaps, sudden direction changes, kansei doriftos on two legs, while having flashbacks of their childhood years playing tag.
That, and the rest of their teammates analyzing and chatting, talking entire paragraphs in less than one in-universe second.
The main character is a passionate underdog (male teen). Parents disapprove of the sport but nice grandpa said go for it. The antagonist is a snobbish, 1 in a century talent. Chases cats for training. 😂
We'd love to create a Manga storyline and already have a few ideas.
Hollywood Freerunners could've definately won if Ohar didn't hurt himself. HF almost made an insane comeback but being outnumbered takes it's toll on the stamina of the runners... Great match, I love this sport!
