Jonathan climbs a mountain of keys on this grand pipe organ in this magnificent cathedral. Very beautiful music and very well played as always. A huge privilege to perform this piece on this immense musical instrument. Congratulations Jonathan and Tom. ⛰🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎵🎶
This performance envelops you as registrations transition between thunderous intensity and graceful subtlety. Captivating! And that echo and pedal work.💥 Bravo! Thanks so much for sharing. 💐💐🎹🎶
I'm sitting here working at my desk, listening to you play this piece, when I find myself thinking; Just how high can their I.Q.'s be? Each time I listen to one of your masterfully played rendition, I hear and feel something deeper and when I see Tom's lovely, beautifully shot videos, I'm totally in awe. As I said before, we're the lucky ones. xx
What magnificent organ in a fabulous Basilica, Jonathan & Tom! Brilliantly played Handel, as usual, & great video from Tom. The console & pipes are a beauty to behold in themselves. Wish I could have heard it live. 🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🤩
So beautiful! Handel with Jonathan is indescribable! I love seeing your feet stepping elegantly and carefully on the pedals! Tom, your video is amazing and it's a shame there wasn't a piano for you to play together! Thank you both!
Чудо-инструмент,чудо-музыка!!! Теперь, отдельные её фрагменты поёт со сцены вся эстрада. Но,только сыгранная полностью, картину создаёт, сверкая, алмазами бесценными.
Hallo!! Wauw a Masterpiece played by an Master on the organ always!!! We are Lucky to have you both!! Jonathan and Tom❤❤ With Love from the Netherlands.
Wow, Jonathan, can you describe what it feels like to be able to play such a masterpiece of an instrument? And Tom, can you describe what it feels like to document the amazing edifices that you both travel to? It boggles my puny mind to find words.
I love Handel's Passacaglia, it is one of my favourite pieces of music & your rendition is inspirational but that reverb is ridiculous!!! It must have been very distracting for you whilst you were playing. Beautiful video though & glorious music. That really is an amazing instrument! Thank you both for sharing. xx
An impressive highlight of the memorable Lichen Basilica Concert. I like how you incorporated reference to all the Instruments. Good to hear it again. Thank you Jonathan.
Just incredible!!! Oh my God, how beautiful music is and how beautiful must be the music in Heaven, this one and only who adores You, my God!!! Although I've been in Licheń Stary years ago, I don't have an opportunity to hear this organ live. It is amazing even on TH-cam video. Thank you for sharing!
Absolutely beautiful music... I have always enjoyed the Passacaglia's in all their variations; and in true fashion you take this piece and polish it like a beautiful piece of gold! Thanks for your music.
I wonder if the Basilica authorities would consider having acoustic clouds installed, of the type that could be rolled out for organ recitals then rolled in again afterwards. It is a pity that the magnificence of this instrument is readily lost in a huge wave of reverberation.
Yes, I quite agree. There's no doubt that reverb in cathedral settings nearly always enhances liturgical music and the sound of great organs, but here it is very excessive and floods the aural experience detrimentally.
I dunno, I enjoy the reverb, I mean it’s overwhelming and sometimes physically hurts but it’s like being in the eye of a storm, you can’t fight it and must simply succumb!
Nah the reverb is part of the experience. A good organist will work with it and adapt the music to fit without overwhelming. Many organists today don't have that skill and just swamp out a sea of noise.
@@kishascape yes of course, someone like Varnus will wait for the reverb to finish. I think it looks showy. Unfortunately I think many of the recordings go on here don’t pick up the true listener experience, recording from a mic far from the section of pipes in play and picking g up reverb not music. It’s been my experience at recitals with very large instruments that one needs to choose seats wisely.
"The King Of Instruments" indeed! You can't get the bombast like this out of any string quartets or larger orchestras (that remark may ruffle some feathers. realize I'm no musical professor or anything like that). I just know what I like.
Egy kiváló orgonistától egy kiváló hangszeren egy kiváló zeneszerzőtől egy egyébként remek előadásban, de szerintem fantáziaszegény, kliséktől hemzsegő nem eredeti művet hallunk, talán kár érte. Entschuldigung!

Brilliant!!!
Wonderfully played. I am honored to hear this beautiful music.
They are replacing this type of magnificent music with junk contemporary music in the evangelical churches. It's horrible.

GF Handel and JS Bach were both born in 1685 in Germany (Halle and Eisenach) less than a month apart, they never met but were aware of each other.

This is the most impressive Version. Its as if the organ was solely built for this piece.

Genialne!
Congrats 🎊🚀🤙
Thank you; one of my most favourite and the registrations are phenomenal. A bit different from St Laurence’s at Ludlow!
TBF I prefer Ludlow over this
power-full 💯💥
Oh my, sublime!!
Stunning. Bravo. Merci.

Great music and amazing organist !
I loved the reverb! Just wish I could be there to hear it in person!
wonderful 😀😀😀
EN mäktig orgel som utnyttjas bra avJOHAN TROTS på gräns till över syrning vid inspelning

They used to heal the literal masses through the frequency output. Like this was old world medicine and tech
Great transcription but it would have been best heard in the room given the huge reverb in that building.
Yes, it's an insanely live space.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Never heard this before. It's a fantastic piece wonderfully played. I presume this is what Karg-Elert based his Hommage to Handel on?
Wow, church bells out of an organ

👏👏👍👍
awestruck
It seems very likely that CM Widor would've drawn his inspiration for his symphony VI Allegro from this piece.
This place is mad.
I wouldlike to know how many of these great organs exist worldwide?
nice thumbnail
and they said that males couldn't multitask ???

Jonathan, i have a question for you. Do you use special shoos to play the pedal board?
Is this the hardest intrument to play?
Does this organ have 6 manuals ?
Yes
7:35 this is juts scary

Hmm, that's far, far too wet an acoustic for a recital instrument. Certainly suitable for accompaniment and professionals.
this is absurd
Superb!
Incredible!
Amazing!
