- I played through Red Dead Redemption 2 as Arthur Morgan. I stuck to the main storyline and optional Honor missions while counting up every single kill he racked up.

Young Dutch forming the gang, ending with him taking a more camp leader role where he stays in camp, and the transition to playing as Arthur who is becoming (or has become) the gangs number 1 enforcer. Or play as a new character who becomes a member early on, who loses his life during some kind of robbery and then a hot swap to Arthur escaping with everyone for the 'epilogue'.

Micah didn't DARE get physical with Aurthur UNTIL he was crippilingly sick...he knew Aurthur would've waxed him up down and sideways.
And even then, he still almost lost
Keep in mind that by that point Arthur wasn't only incredibly sick, he was tired from fighting to save Abigail and almost getting killed by Milton, tired from fighting the Pinkertons back at camp, running from them AND the gang AND to top it all off tired from running on a damn mountain side and making a last stand on it, this is without counting the emotional factor, he would be at this point somewhat used to the idea of him dying sooner rather than later anyway, if he didn't have TB his self preservation instinct might have kicked in a little bit harder, giving him the adrenaline needed to, at the very least, kill Micah, even if it resulted in his death as well, though I doubt it, a healthy Arthur would be enough to take down an actual Grizzly Bear, which he totally could even with only a knife, same with John, but I would put John bellow Arthur as far as strength goes, maybe not in skill with guns, but strength definitely.
That and he knew basically no one was gonna side with him

Much like you'd say, it's movie magic. It's game magic. It wouldn't be unthinkable for one man to take on man, especially in a gun fight. An experienced killer/ gun slinger could definitely take out a bunch of nobody's with guns. Just because someone has a gun doesn't mean they know how to use it. It would be like the average Joe taking on a champion boxer. Anyone who's involved in combat sports knows what I mean by "easy work."

I can’t help but imagine that anybody who knows who Arthur is, shudders at the thought he might be in a gun fight. Even if they don’t know his full kill count, he’s no doubt had at least hundreds of deaths officially attributed to him specifically in newspapers, and would likely be mentioned in every major operation the Vanderlinde Gang gets into, all of which result in people dying.
They likely get worried when they hear of any one of the gang making an appearance due to reputation. But their faces must pale when they hear Arthur “Morgue” Morgan could be around.

You know, I never thought about it like that before. Arthur ultimately loses the final fight with Micah, but he still puts up one hell of a fight despite his fatal disease. If Arthur wasn't already on death's door, he would've absolutely destroyed Micah's rat ass. Micah was lucky that Arthur was sick.

I was Micah in gta 5 but was not in Rdr2 but I did kill a few innocent npcs and a dog in the red dead redemption game I was not in my prime in it so little dogs killed me easily so I killed a guard dog out of self defense in the game which I would have felt bad if it was real life. I was trying to get to a mission and accidentally made the npcs mad so they tried to kill me including their dog for approaching private property by accident so I also killed the owners. Then I had to go back to respawn a mission and they came back like nothing happened.
well yeah obviously. hes established to be the gangs "enforcer", "muscle", "tough guy". he does the dirty work because thats his role in the gang, so obviously he'd have the highest kill count. plus, he is an amazing gunslinger and sharpshooter- both facts well known by the gang.
And then he’s considered the “Big Guy” in the epilogue.

Same for me, I thought it was scripted that way so imagine my surprise when I see that he can survive.
Same in my current playthrough funny enough. Though I think even if he only falls onto the ground, you do still get the screen 'flash' effect meaning the game considers him dead.
Im on my 4th playthrough and it's always at the bridge, this time he almost made it to the other side but then he rolled into the ravine.
it's funny how Aurthurs canonical and most realistic kill count is around 1,500 within the main game but in reality on the average play through, it's close to 15,000 - 20,000 if not much more depending on the player

The Strauss side plot is genuinely important to the story. It tells us that Arthur is getting more compassionate throughout the story with the choice to drop the loan
Arthur is such an interesting character to me, he’s this 6ft, burly, rugged, outlaw who is dangerous with his guns and yet, he is introspective in his journal and can draw well, in my opinion, Arthur is a good man deep down but I think he just tried to put up a front in the early part of the game, he didn’t even want to do Strauss’ dirty work, but the more good he does, even an outsider like Sister Calderon sees him as a good man despite living a bad life, “we all live bad lives Mr. Morgan… we all sin, but I know you”

Considering the story of Arthur is that he had been with Dutch's gang for 20 years prior to the game taking place, I'd say that Arthur's likely got at least double that number under his belt in total. Seems like the killing only accelerated as the story went on, so the earlier days most likely were a lot less hectic as the gang took smaller jobs in less populated places. After all, it was only just recent that the law started pushing to civilize the west, so towns and lawmen were likely a lot more sparse.
Im pretty sure in the few short years we play as arthur hes killed more people than the past 3 cod campaigns alone 😂
Funny part is, we play as arthur in his last few months, not years. It's still 1899 when arthur dies, we could say the entire story takes place in less than 5-6 months.

It’s important to remember that gameplay is often exaggerated compared to what actually happens. If the player kills 15 people in a gunfight, Arthur likely only killed 3-6.

I’m not sure why animals are counted. Killing an animal and killing a human is very different. You’re gonna go prison for killing another human most of the time but you’d be totally fine if you killed an animal within reason. Sure if you shot a domestic non aggressive dog you’d get animal cruelty charges but all of Arthur kills on animals are self defense or hunting which wouldn’t be a crime.

i dont think arthur wouldve killed those three workers at the first train heist - Arthur had always been about helping people and not killing when not necessary and those kills are unnecessary especially since they dont relate much to blackwater heist (yoy can find out a bit of what happened in the epilogue through newspapers)

I went for the money in that game over going with John cause I like money and I even got it once I completed the epilogue missions and John got to keep it and I also did that cause I prefer a warriors death over letting tuberculosis take Arther’s life so in a way I took one thing down with me the disease. I wish I could take out Micah too but he had plot armor which was the only reason the gang didn’t kill him.
Arthur doesn’t need to kill the lawman at the camp with Sean. I’ve never killed them. I can’t before I cut down and then leave before they even show up.
