    I own a Yakima skyline. The best windows for a tent out there. Its super light and I’ve camped in 40+ winds with tent on my truck and the tent did great. I keep my kayaks on the roof of the truck thanks to the showdown but I’m not getting any younger and the easy rider is beginning to look like an excellent option. Thank you for the review!

      Definitely hear ya on that. I have since switched my tent to my truck bed rack by yakima so I don't have to lift as much and can wet launch my kayak

    thanks for posting this comprehensive video, very informative! I'm looking to add a RTT to my sailing trimaran kayak trailer, so this was very helpful! I'm a bit debating on whether to setup camp on the RTT trailer, then put the boat on the roof of car to get it launched if driving to a nearby lake, because that way your campsite is still secured (in places where you can't book so no one takes your spot) and also so you don't have to setup/packdown each day, but obv added complexities of roof-topping the boat which adds to effort there.

    Great video. I'm leaning towards that trailer since I have a 360 as well.i have a few questions. Are u using any bunks for the 360 or is it just sitting on the bars. Is their enough clearance for a bow mount trolling motor. And is their enough clearance on the back porch for a tackle box like a black pack. Thanks.

      On the Yakima I have to take the seat off my Nucanoe as it won't fit under the bars with it on, it does have a quick release bracket, however there are some kayaks that will fit on under that bar. On the right on trailer anything will fit under the upper bar, however with the tent being so high the trailer is slightly top heavy compared to the yakima with the lower wider stance. hope this helps!

    Curious how a typical morning goes when you want to wake up and catch the morning bite. Are you close enough to the water that you just wheel your kayak to the water? Or do you have to fold up your tent and drive your trailer to the ramp? It's a sweet set up, but it seems like anything regarding the kayak requires you fold up your tent.

    • @PaddleNFin
      @PaddleNFin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All depends on where you’re at. 4 mins to fold up the tent isn’t that huge of a deal to me. All depends on what you want

    only downfall would be if someone hooks up to your trailer to steal your yaks, you're going for a wild ride. That flap at 4:30 is a great feature for an older dude like me who doesn't want to climb down a ladder at 2 in the morning to relieve myself.

I'm highly debating buying this trailer but I'm 260 lbs alone and my kayak is pushing 200 lbs geared so that doesn't leave much room for a tent and extras. Looking forward to your reply.

    Why does everyone want to spend so much on kayak accessories. How much does that trailer and tent combo cost? Why not go get a used enclosed trailer and have a more secure spot for your kayak and a dry place to sleep at night with ac as an option

    • @PaddleNFin
      @PaddleNFin  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brian had that exact setup. Trailer weighs 5 times as much, kills gas mileage, and sleeping wasn’t as comfortable. To each their own

    • @jayrandallkayakfishing6235
      @jayrandallkayakfishing6235 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the enclosed trailers add a lot of weight but you are right that it would be more secure to an extent. It's really just a choice on what your needs are. There's pros and cons to both choices.
