    1 "upgrade" you "need" 😉 - add a boat piling topper to your 8 inch tube, the missle shape 😅 draws eyes!

      Yea that would be funny.

    Picking mine up Nov 16….. You sold me on the box. I got mine to two rod holders. The only difference from yours. Thanks for the travel info as I’m driving from Tampa to pick mine up. Can’t wait! Tight Lines! I’m now a follower on TH-cam!

      Good deal. Enjoy you will really like it and the trailer will last. I would say the box could be a bit more rigid, but I know Yakima is trying to make light weight as possible. As long as I can get 5 years out of the box I will be happy.

    That's a sweet trailer. That's definitely on the list of must haves.

      Yes it’s nice. I would prefer an enclosed but don’t have the room. Maybe one day again. But as for my needs now it is perfect.

    I looked all the mfg's Kayak trailer and purchased the OTWI Tourney Double w/uprights, removeable T-bars, last year. The best money I spent to do Kayak Fishing. All the grease fittings make maintenace a breese to do, also.

      That’s awesome. Yes I am happy with the OTWI trailer.

      I actually looked at them, but then they hit me with the price. One day maybe? Thanks for the info

      Sell a kidney or 1/2! Yes expensive but should last forever not unless you crash it. Unfortunately even the put together trailers or 3k or more. It’s a joke.

    When you got a yak that weighs as much as the hobie pro angler you need a good trailer.

    Awesome trailer. Hope to pick up mine later this month. Quick question. What is the distance from the ground to the bottom of the ball mount when the trailer is level? I am trying to figure out what kind of drop I need on my trailer hitch.

    • @rjmfishtales
      @rjmfishtales  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I keep mine up a bit from level. I sit around 19-20 inches. But to be dead level I would say 18 inches or so. No lower.

    What's it like to move it around unhitched - like to push it into the garage?

    • @rjmfishtales
      @rjmfishtales  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very easy. That is how I get it in garage. I unhitch and push it in. It’s only 500 pounds. Move very easy.

    great review , just had a question, with one side of the trailer being havier than the other, does it make a difference when you drive or irregular wear on tire .

    • @rjmfishtales
      @rjmfishtales  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not at all. I had 10,000 miles on it before I went back to an enclosed trailer. The trailer was perfect when I sold it.
      Chad and Gene run the doubles with only one kayak on them most of the time and they have a lot more. Gene has over 30k on his and still on same tires.
      These trailers are well worth the money. I loved mine but the enclosed trailer works best for me.

    What mount are you using on the back?
    I have the hobie and the gap under it is big enough to slide my fingers into.

    • @rjmfishtales
      @rjmfishtales  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s the one from One Objective for the Hobie.

    What brand are the center caps for those rims? I have the same rims but can't find a good center cap for them.

    • @rjmfishtales
      @rjmfishtales  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They came with the trailer so I have no idea. They have no writing on the caps unfortunately. I am sorry I can’t help.

    Great Video, I've been shopping around, and this is exactly what I've been looking for! Perfect for my Hobie 14! If you dont mind, what was the cost?

    • @rjmfishtales
      @rjmfishtales  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you sir. All in 5k. I saved a little bit by doing the tube myself and getting a little bit of a discount on the Yakima box. But that is the cost of ordered today from On the Water Innovations. It’s worth every penny if you want a trailer that you will have forever. Just remember that. Forever. Not unless you crash it. Besides maintenance on bearings and tires the rest of the trailer is solid.
      If you want one it’s a 7 month wait so gives you time to save anyways. Good luck and keep me posted.

    Not a big fan of having the craft hanging out past the trailers end, best lessons are hardest learned!

    • @rjmfishtales
      @rjmfishtales  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yea. It’s no different than my boat trailer or having in the backing my truck. That is why I have insurance on the kayak for that reason and also theft. I am usually on the roads so early there is no one around. Lol. But you have a point
