    Just installed new stereo into my 2002 Xterra. Everything worked great! I connected the blue/white wires together to power the amp as you instructed. Thanks for the great video.

    Outstanding. Thank you so much for sharing! I have a question - I am using straight wire butt connectors and was wondering whether there are any advantages of putting heat shrink tubes over them?

    Firstly, Thank you this is an awesome tutorial vid. I'm pretty much wired up and good to go, but I've got one question(if anyone else can answer feel free). I connected the ground black to black on one of the harnesses, but on the other harness I have a black with white strip. Does this cable need to be also wired into the previous ground or can it be capped off(triple connection)? There is no 2nd black white wire to pair it with.

      that is an optional amp ground, just tie it into the other ground..

    I just purchased a head unit for my 2003 xterra. Was wondering if the after market wiring harness is universal or do you have to get a harness that is specific for the head unit. If the colors are universal what harness are you using? And also at the end we didn't get a look at the final product. Did you need to put a bezel kit around it to close a gap? Thanks

    Question, I recently bought a boss double dim stereo for my 07 nissan versa. My car has three factory wire harnesses and my stereo only has one coming out the back. Do I only use the one main bigger harness and leave the other two alone?

    • @Lesscoelectronics
      @Lesscoelectronics  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, the 3rd may be for a factory cd changer or something like that

    • @bowlrider9
      @bowlrider9 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lessco Electronics thank you for your quick response! So I wired the main factory harness to the new stereo and I'll leave the two factory connectors alone and let you know if it works. Cheers! 😎👊👍

      Lessco Electronics it works! The only problem I'm having is the DVD player. While it's in park it says to put in park to use. Maybe I missed wires? Thanks again! 😎👍

    Hi I tried installing a new stereo head unit for my 2003 Nissan Xterra and i was wondering why is there 3 harness of wires to be connected from the vehicle to the unit , while the unit only has 2 spots but I installed it and left the other one disconnected coz it doesn't seem to fit anywhere and now everything's working except no sound

    • @Lesscoelectronics
      @Lesscoelectronics  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats why you need to use the correct aftermarket wiring harness adapter, It simplifies it down to only whats actually required.

      Did you connect the blue and white wire? If you have an amp you need to do that to get sound.

    • @emersonestrella2845

      Everything is connected and I even tried to connect the old unit without the third wire harness I was talking about and it was working completely fine and one more thing I noticed most of the stock radio from 03 xterras aren't like mine , coz mine had a Rockford fosgate head unit when I bought it

    • @arogers8739
      @arogers8739 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just replaced a 03 xterra that had the same radio, I used the Metra 70-1761 wiring harness did not connect the blue/white wire and it worked fine. hope that helps.

    Ive searched and searched for days trying to find a video about installing Dual Multimedia DVD Receiver w/ Bluetooth (xdvd256bt) into my 2014 Nissan Versa 4dr Sedan. (I undid the negative from the battery) I bought a antenna adapter and a harness. I went ahead and color coordinated the wires and used electrical tape.. I'm needing help figuring out where to mount the ground wire and I'm also wondering if I missed a step or something. Help would be much appreciated more than you think. Clearly I'm not much of a tech guy lol. 😥
