That Bricklin was bought by Derek at Vice Grip Garage, in Florida. He got it running and drove it back to his house. He does have an O'Reillys Pro account. Obviously he sold it to DD's SpeedShop. It's fun to see the same car make it's way around the TH-camr's!
Love the commentary on the contents of Derek's old bricklin. I would warn you about the parts back there...im not sure they all work but I'd have to rewatch the VGG video on the bricklan and I have such little interest that car to begin with and this is the 4th youtuber I have seen mess with the exact same car!
There are a few reasons why so many Model A's survived. They made millions of them. They were a huge improvement over the Model T's in function and construction. Many Model T's, even ones in good condition met their end during the scrap drives of WWII because they were considered an old and mechanically obsolete car that was worth more as scrap for the war effort than as a car to be driven.
I almost laughed myself into tears when I saw the stickers. My grandpa was born in 1910. He had lots of model a stories like wiring a sock on the carb for a air cleaner, carrying a razor blade for a defroster, tipping it on its side for tire repairs and never forget be the last car at the dance because you can't use your hose and can to siphon gas to get home.
That is so cool ,I have one grandpa that was born in 1910 and one that was born in 1896 ,both born in Italy ,so the only stories I got , we’re about donkeys and bicycles , in Italian Lol
Another good one Mort. Enjoyed it immensely. Dad had a '29 Model A in the early 1950's. Said he could get 70 MPH out of it, but that was floored. May have had overdrive. Can't ask him as he expired in 2005.
Looked like Duff Dog was emitting a transcendent inner light driving with you in town; his colors reflected the ‘golden hour’ of the day magnificently-great photography and video Sir Mortske, thank you. Teamwork; even the thumbnail. Love the Duff!
Chin , that was a fantastic job editing! The Model A is priceless. Save it you might never find a better one. The Briklin looting was funny as hell! Canadians won't notice the stickers. LOL Great video Mortske, of course Mojo and Duff did their part. Thank You! Poor DD... 😅
You got a real beauty there! And your driving it (pretty awesome). The price is great for a driver.. This car won't sit long so drive it while you can! And the fact that Skip was still around to give the rundown on video was AMAZING! Really, really enjoyed this episode 👏
I am always learning things about the older cars and trucks from you. You’re an amazing source of knowledge on this stuff. Duff cracks me up too with his timing of replies. Fun fact: Sunday I saw a red Cowboy Caddy here in Texas with 26 Chicken chasers on the cab in non other than a Walmart parking lot! Yeee haaaah! Love your show!
I got to ride in an A model when I was 14 years old. It belonged to my best friend's dad, and I still remember how it sounded and how nicely it rode. You are living the life, Mr. Mortske! My best to Duff and Mojo, and Merry Christmas to you all!
So glad you got something that makes you peaceful and so happy. Too much stuff needing major TLC not to say surgery. Glad for you. Take care Keith in another country but with you all the way.
I know someone that drives his daily. It was completely restored by his Dad when he got it from his Dad and now he has it. His Great Grandfather bought it and it's been passed down to each generation.
Mortske I love it when you're out at the auctions or swap meets and you talk with the locals.. since you're from up there you aren't just in the shop with us (you know) your words take on a certain je ne sais qua that northern accent.. it's the oddest phenomenon. I love it! Thanks for sharing the auction with us.
It’s been a few years since I’ve been around anyone who rolled their own tobacco smokes. I remember as a kid it was still pretty common to see men pull out their Prince Albert metal tins and roll themselves up a smoke. One of my grandma’s dipped snuff most of her life but she was so clean with it you’d never notice it unless you were family. She was a member of an old fire and brimstone Baptist church and one morning her preacher was screaming about the sin of smoking cigarettes. Granny shook his hand at the front door of the church and said “Amen preacher, anybody who will set fire to good tobacco deserves to go to hell.” 😂 👍for the content.
Listening to you talk trash to and about your friends makes me feel like I'm in my own shop. It's the best part of your channel. Oh, the cars are cool, too. Thanks for the entertainment! You're definitely an original.
Awesome car. I just bought 6 volt sealed beam headlights for my 39 buick. That's an upgrade I'm sure I'll be happy to have. I went thru about 6 of the old style bulbs in 6 months. Hope they are brighter. Thanks for what you do. Love the video
@MortskeRepair thank you. I tried the old style bulbs off ebay that were led's they were worse than the old school bulbs. I'm waiting for the wiring I ordered. Thanks again for all the great videos.
That was one heck of a Mortske Monday . The 31 Ford is a running driving piece of motoring history , There were some other cars but the prices were out of ( well you know what I mean ) . Thank you for the trip to Minnesota , It seems that here in Ontario is the only place with snow . Take care , God Bless , till next time , Stuart in Canada ..
Poor Dan getting picked on by you and Puddin, love the bumper stickers 😂 it was nice doing the tag along with you at the auction and you certainly got one nice model A. Keep up the good work and the awesome videos 👍✌️🇺🇲
Great episode. I think it's great old Skip took the time to tell you all the things you needed to know about the old Ford. It's not every day you come across a car that age that's still a daily driver. Enjoy it, I know Duff does.
What a great video, it was like a double feature. Keep up the awesome work. 👍👍👍, also great placement on all the shipping stickers on the Canadian Camaro.
NICE BUY. Enjoy driving a car older than you. This may be the first time I have seen you drive a vehicle onto the trailer. I love those 394 Oldsmobile engines- torque is amazing. The gear boxes were not so hot- not allowing the engine to rev before it hit high gear. I drove a 64 Super 88. Great car.
I grew up on Oldsmobiles. Dad drove them from the time if his first car. He had a 46 55 65 and switched to Buick in 81 and 99. Which were used. My daughter drove the 99 Buick until it fell apart on the body.. The 65 Delta 88 had a 425 and would do triple digitals with authority. The 55 was the coolest one if I was to get one from my youth. Dad sent money home from the war to get the first Olds from the local dealer. The dealer had all kinds of offers above retail ....one of which was five hundred over. But a promise was a promise back in those days and Dad got the car.
Imho if someone is having a bad " Monday" as I often hear people complain of " They haven't had the Pleasure of a "Mortske Monday Video! Such a cool car ! Loved the "Easter Egg " ! Wonder if anyone else caught it? Thanks Mortske for making Monday's Great again ! Godspeed!
I recently watched a live feed from pole barn garage. The topic was about marketplace and similar sites. There was a bricklin in the listings. He said he would buy one of it was is his price range. There’s one born every minute. I can name at least two others. I was looking forward to seeing it on top of Mortske mountain.
I would say best buy so far, maybe? At least you can now have a day at the races with Scott and Johnathan W. Model A should have a air cleaner from the factory, but usually they just go missing for reasons I don't know. Alloy head might be cool if it was a hotrod(not sure how much better it is cooling wise) but if you don't plan to build a racing engine the cast iron one will do the job. Water pump is super easy to repair, only watch out with the bushings cause these are some weird graphite bronze material. 21" tiers are harder to find than the 19" ones. Over all, if I would own this car I would do probably the same things you mentioned in the video. Only keeping the spare tire on the fender cause it looks classy, but only from my standpoint. I sure love the Model A and AA dump truck. These are a legend in some corners of the world. The Auction had lot of good stuff but also easy to go broke by drying to get everything.
Skip is a good Ole boy he was ready and willing to tell you everything you needed to know about the car. What a cool daily driver seems like a good choice for Post Office runs on 30 degree plus days.
I'm curious how many channels the bricklin is going to end up on lol. And that last guy would be miles ahead if he'd keep some of his part store goodies😂

If I remember right Vice Grip got it from Tavarish
I’m watching this thinking that’s the one from VGG. 🤣🤣🤣 what a time to be alive!

Most utube channels are getting harder to watch start to finish, yours is a pleasure all the way through!!
Glad you think so!
It amazes me how many Model A's have survived for nearly 100 yrs and most were built during the height of the Depression! Enjoy Mr. M!😆
4.8 million were made so yes plenty survive
@@afmajor322 They built millions of Model T's too. But I think A's are more available.
Absolutely over 4.5 million were sold, and it's amazing any of them survived with all us hot rodders putting s.b.c. 's in em lol...
There are a few reasons why so many Model A's survived. They made millions of them. They were a huge improvement over the Model T's in function and construction. @@afmajor322if they make 4.8 million of a late model Ford 80 percent of them will be crushed within 20 years. Think about that.
