- This is the 4th episode of our Midwest Road Tour and it sure was a special shoot for all of us on the team. Spending the day with Troy Trepanier and learning why every builder I know says "Troy is the best" was one of the best days in my automotive career. The artistry along with sheer mechanical genius gives you the builds that only Troy and his team could build. This 1929 Model A Tudor is truly one of the finest builds I've ever experienced in every way possible so sit back and enjoy the ride...

Top of the game, also Steve Moal! Great that Troy gives his right hand Adam the accolades! Love the first 2 minutes, no talking, just look and listen to the ride!
While Southern California custom vehicles are cool, traveling the U.S.A. with Sean, to visit custom build shops, shows there are award winning builders across America! More road trips Sean!!
More road trips coming soon. Next will most likely be Alabama
That color is awesome.
This is without a doubt 1 of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen
Same for me. Stunning
I watch A LOT of auto content. From F1 on Netflix to Bad Chad and everything in between. I have to say this Autotopia LA Western tour is just about my most favorite series I’ve seen in 40+ years. It’s just the kind of rides I like the most presented just exactly the right way. So thank you thank you thank you! So this latest review. Whoa. The design, engineering, build quality, and artistry is just freaking mind bending. Good gracious what I wouldn’t give to personally see it. The vicariousness will have to do for now. Stoked!!
Troy has and will always be the best automotive designer/ builder. End of story! He surrounds himself with the best and attracts the best. Truly my hero in the automotive industry.
I’ve heard that from a lot of the top builders in this business and having been to his shop I get it now. Troy and his team are truly next level on design and execution plus their builds actually drive ALOT! Truly an honor getting to spend the day with Troy and his team
Troy continues to blow my mind. Still at the top of his game after all these decades. Still innovating, still pushing the envelope and still has the passion and drive of a guy just starting out. Gawd do I wish I could afford to work with him.
Still pushing everyday. Wait til you see the 3rd gen Camaro they’re building…wow!!
Rolling oldies, no matter how many tweeks we see on a car, something about the 50,60,70' including Elvis is forever beautiful, this car is perfect!
Love the steampunck element with the exterior mechanicals. These guys are engineering and fabricating geniuses. That electric rear window is such an incredible touch (and practical). And Shawn, if you're finishing this tour in that Classic Chevy truck, you need a straw cowboy hat, braj. 😄 Have a great weekend.
My favorite Builder. Adam's metalwork is what everyone strives for. I follow him and Casey on IG. The quality of builds turned out of that shop is the best of the best. I could listen to Troy talk about the cars for hours. This car was in a WheelHub issue I have. Notice how all the hardware is clocked. Details, details, details
Troy is the absolute goat of hot rods with not only the vision, but the skills to complete whatever he attempts.
The “right right right” clip got me!! 😂😂😂
I met Troy at '91 Hot Rod supernats and his father years later. Super good guys and down to earth.
Color palette is INSANE... all the subtle variations. It's way more diverse than I thought before this video.
I remember when Troy was a kid and building pro street cars.
I don’t think I’ve seen a car that cool ever. Top notch work. Beyond words !
Hey Shawn, saw this Street Rod at Goodguys Columbus this past weekend! What a kick after watching it on your channel!! Got a chance to say hello to Troy and chat a few minutes, what a great guy!! Thanks for your channel and ur presentation and respectful opinions and ur general interviewing technique!!
WHOLE NOTHER LEVEL!
😮some of the siiiiccckkkest rides ever
That’s the truth!
Absolutely incredible! Thanks for capturing the detail on this thing. Rolling art!
That car is beautiful! It sounds So Good and look so good
Wow... this episode was a treat! Troy and his guys are freakin amazing and Adam blew my mind! Ya'll had me smiling the whole time. good stuff 👏
this guy is doing rocket science
Hey Shawn
just watched the episode with Troy & his 29 Ford. Really cool to see all the stuff they do.
Your tour was a great idea!
Thx
Thanks. And still 2 more episodes from our tour coming this week
We are in, quite literally, the most amazing time for hot rod builders. The capabilities using modern manufacturing techniques and technology has changed the game to an extraordinary degree. These folks are producing modern comfort, amenities, and performance into some of the most creative designs imaginable. It’s truly amazing. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
OMG the sound effect when he gets the tailpipe on his face :D
Best of its kind I've ever seen. What struck me first was the Root beer color. Really suits it. The side steering linkage at 11:36 has a Steam Punk look but more refined.
I'm like overwhelmed by the talent. In all the builds Sean's been showcasing recently. My word, these cars are so over the top incredible.
The level of craftsmanship is breathtaking.... Wow.... Just wow....
Wow! Just wow 😮! Incredible!
Wow! Just wow 😮! Incredible!
The entire car is beautiful but that dash with those yellow lights all chopped just looks gorgeous. Would be amazing to cruise PCH in this thing
Wow! Just wow 😮! Incredible!
Fantastic video! Well done. Definitely my favourite!
Thank you. What an honor spending the day with Troy and his team
One of my top 5 channels on TH-cam! I was like a crackhead when the next episode hadn't come out yet.
lol! Thank you. We keep trying and pushing to get better at what we do here
Especially Loved your "Rock'n Intro" on this piece. It was Time well spent.... fits perfectly!....Keepum Rockin' On!!!!
You know 'Anything' you're going to see by Troy is gonna Rock and this one didn't disappoint.
One Bad Ass Ride....
I haven't seen anything with Troy in it for awhile. Time Sure Flies don't it?He's showing a bit of his age nowadays...glasses and all....lol. 👍👀👏
This has been my favorite series so far. The builders you are talking to are living legends. Troy and his guys build some crazy clean and unique stuff. Thanks for sharing this journey!
And there’s still 2 more episodes coming from the trip. Today and Friday. Troy and his team are as good as it gets
Just a beautiful car love the classic look. And plenty of power. One of my favorite
As a hobbiest version of that man. Simple is the hardest thing to pull off. But it looks so good when it is done. Cool build.
Troy is, and has been my favorite builder since I was a kid. His 62 Chevy Biscayne is my all time favorite
I Love Troy’s work. I’ve been a fan since the T.V. Show “RIDES”
Troy and his team are as good as it gets imo
Been following Troy for 30yrs Never Disappoints..He's one of the Greats/Father of "HOTRODDING" & his Work Ethic/Humbleness upon the Automotive Hobby/Building is Awesome overall.. How it's suppose to be..GREAT JOB above.. 😎❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍👍c
Every time I see one of Troy's cars it takes me about three runs thru the specs before I can understand what he did with his rides. Shawn....I'm 77 y.o. and haven't seen a Halibrand rear end in nearly a thousand years.....you certainly get to work with great rides. Whaddajob!!!
Troy and his team build some of the finest vehicles in the custom world
I remember watching him when he first started and I was in high school, the 66 chevelle.!🤤
Wow dude! This thing is a complete BAD ASS! I love everything about it! Troy and his team obviously are building some cool rides! Nice work Shawn! You and your team are putting out some GREAT content! Truly look forward to your videos! Have fun driving that truck around while touring! So awesome! You are living the life dude!
troy's fuchsia 66 chevelle is why i bought my 66 when i was a senior in high school 1989. it was my first hot rod.
Love this car. Looked amazing in bare metal at Detroit a few years ago and then finished the following year. So cool. Been following Troy’s builds since his first ones, the 50 Buick and 60 Chevy, the Rumbler and Impaler etc etc. So many killer, killer rides. Always top notch. Great video.
What a masterpiece. The 56 Buick and this 29 are my favorites of his builds.
Troy is the cat's meow. Humble as you can imagine. He is one of THE best car builders in the world. If you haven't been to a Goodguys and seen his cars in person - I highly suggest going to spend 30-45 min just staring at his cars in person. There are things that you might not see anywhere else. I've been following him many years. They are selling parts and cool items on their website too. Bolts and cool clamps.
The details just kept going! I bet this video could have been hours
Could’ve kept going with all the details
So good, I watched it twice!
Such an amazing build!
Troy es un constructor excepcional, ese auto es la muestra de lo que es capaz de hacer, los autos que construye y modifica son otras de arte
The most poignant statement I’ve ever heard about creating a clean looking build is “The cleaner the look and the lines the longer it takes to build. If it’s going to be genuinely functional, you can automatically double that time to create a finished build. And that is for the talented and experienced craftsman.” This car exemplifies that statement. But the coolest part of all is this thing gets driven REAL distances often. Very cool. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
Troy and his team are the pinnacle of what they do; have been watching Troy from day dot. Thankyou for an amazing upload Shawn
Simply incredible start to finish..
Troy has been around for eons...read about him in HRM....Gray Baskerville was THE guy to write the articles everyone knew his name. Very tasteful build, detail is second to none.
It's tour time my friend❤brothers
I don’t even like sedans but…..this is next level , wow !
I have the hot rod magazine from 1991. I was in school and I would take it to school everyday and look at all the awesome cars. Troy has always been up their in my top 3 inspirations when it comes to attention to detail ans beautiful builds. The hot rod is just another. Awesome

first car of troy's i ever saw was the 'chicane', and he's been an inspiration of mine ever since. truly one of the best of the best, of the best.
Impressive wasn’t a strong enough word to explain this build, so I looked up synonyms, extraordinary, splendid, remarkable…still couldn’t find the perfect word to describe how cool this is.
DAMN! That car is amazing!
Love the color of it, looks awesome on that ride 👍🏼
The coolest model A ever!!!
this is next level workmanship. Damn and the lore between the shop and troy is on par with the build and stuff hes trying to put out.
This Guys in a Different League of Hot rods
Thanks
That's Gangsters Car!
This is the highest level of a perfect car in every detail.
I’d heard of Troy but never seen his work
Wow !
Dig in sometime. All the best builders say he’s the best
Piece of art ❤❤❤
Bonny and Clyde would have loved that 👍
Wow, what an amazing work of art!!! 🔥🔥👌🏼
To think this fantastic shop is only 125 miles north of my farm and I’m just now finding out about it!! Shame on me…….
As formerfarmer I’m impressed that he does his photography work at the local grain elevator. Nice lick Troy.
Another level! Can’t imagine, i don’t think I’d stop driving it.
speechless, detail is unbelievable.
This series of videos is awesome. Great to see all these fantastic builders.
Another great episode, about another great builder and his team.
