    The mirrors after 2003 are definately better than before.......you get a better view and the glass is less likely to break when fitting (at least if you are ham fisted as me).
    They are tougher than mini mirrors though. I found out when a mini driver decided a single track road with passing places was wide enough for 2......it wasn't and she lost the whole mirror and I just needed a new bit glass.

      Haha, that's awesome. I'm actually impressed that the collision on my car nicked the end of the glass backing, but not the glass itself :)

      FWIW I was doing about 45mph and I think she was a bit closer to the 60mph speed limit so aye, surprised there wasn't more damage. Wish I had pics of all the things that have crashed into my Saabs over the years......they've left their share of Saab shaped dents in things :-D

    Keep up the great work, Jonathan. As always, quality videos.
    I have two questions (if I may):
    1. Does the Power Memory Module store codes for a long period? I have upgraded to a 2008 Laser Red 9-3 Vector, and an occasional fault comes and goes [Stability Control Failure - Contact Service], and was wondering if it's stored as a ghost code for long; long enough for me to go to the mechanic for Tech II scan. Thoughts?
    2. Does the mirror's auto dimming feature work through the same heater connectors (to the glass) as shown in this video presentation during the removal/reinstallation procedure?

      @TrionicSeven  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I think the PMM stores codes for future reference. Try clearing the code with tech2 and see if it returns!
      I don't have auto-dimming so I don't know. I think it's a separate wire.

    Great video , just what i needed cos some muppet on a pushbike collided with my right hand mirror & smashed the bottom right hand corner on the black surround , so now i know how to remove it , cheers m8y .

    Great video! Is it possible to add power fold mirrors to the 9-5?

    I'll try to retrofit this Power Mirrors Memory (PMM) to my 1999 car, since 2001 Aero has it.
    People tend to ask, why would you need memory on seats and mirrors? Well. On number 1 you have setting of your seat + mirrors for normal driving. On number 2 you can have exact same position of seat, but mirrors setting for reverse (like less or more wide angle, more downwards, etc). Which really has a good use. Or even if you sometimes go with a trailer, different mirror setting in few seconds, from memory. Tadaaa.

      Excellent answer. For my own part it's very useful as my wife and I have one memory slot each (I'm much taller than her).

    Good job, mate. I'm just trying to solve issue with electric folding of the left mirror. When it's really cold outside, it does not work. Any tip to fix it, please?

    • @TrionicSeven
      @TrionicSeven  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Electrical troubleshooting is always easier if you can test the individual components. It's hard to know if the problem is in the wiring or in the motor, so try to find if that's the issue.

      I sort of have the same problem, except temperature isnt a problem. My passenger side mirror folds in and out properly, but my driver side mirror only folds in about half way. Is the motor you just replaced what also powers the electric folding function or is there a seperate motor for that?

    • @TrionicSeven
      @TrionicSeven  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      First step I'd say is to take the mirror off and go wild with the multimeter.

      Bad news, sir. I've been informed that the electric folding mirror is not possible to repair - whole electric mechanism is sealed. The only possible way is just the replacement. These folding mirrors were rare and it's really, really hard to find out the used one. Yes, it's possible to buy a new one, but it's quite expensive.

    Hi Johnathan! I would like to ask you that what might be wrong if a power folding mirror struggles to fold? That motor can also be replaced as easy like this or I have to replace the whole side mirror for that? Thank you!

      I've heard that the motors can go bad. I'd recommend checking with tech2 to find fault codes in the system, usually you'll have your answer there

    Hey, Great job on these videos you make, they are very helpfull.
    I have few questions: Does the steering wheel buttons should iluminate when lights are on on SAAB 9-5 2006+ ?
    Secondly, what is the proper way how to do automatic gearbox indicator light bulb replacement in console next to gear lever?
    I hope to hear from you.
    Thank in advance.
    Greeting from Latvia

      Hey! No, the steering wheel buttons do not illuminate. For the lights, I know that the twinsaabs site has info :)
